Your COS details will be needed…then TB test certificates of applicants, PCC of spouse, not sure of financial statement (either no need for POF or account balance to cover £285+£200 for child)…Not sure on the POF requirements…if you were applying at same time, that’s clear cut… Maybe others can chip in… Ferrarilord: What documents do I need to submit as the main applicant to show ties to my dependants when they will be applying?

PTE accepts ID card if presented from country of issue but you can call the Nigeria agent to confirm if they accept our National ID card… taolut: Eh God!
We have just received an NSF for her dependant asking for more information however, the interesting thing is in the email they said and I quote below: “ I note that your Mother currently has a Skilled Worker visa”
Which means it’s only this UKVI IELTS that’s delaying her visa.
Anyone knows if Pearson accepts national ID to write exam?
Thank you for all your help |

There’s an exam for January 4… Hurry taolut: Good morning house and a Happy New Year to all.
May all your dreams come true and your silent prayers answered this year.
Can one write the PTE exam without a passport, say with National Id for example? My younger sister has found herself in this situation for some reasons - agent that did her application said she would be fine with the general IELTS that’s not UKVI as she has a high actors against my concerns. Now she has received an email to provide the UKVI one. We booked IELTS in a rush and they have denied her taking the exam this morning. Her passport is still with the embassy so I am looking for a way to savage the situation.
@Airvance907 I would really appreciate if you can advise how did you manage to write the exams pleaee?
Thanks

Depends on what she has in her NIN. Let her stick with that narrative. I don’t think it’s mandatory that couple should bear same surname…the whites don’t all the time. But she’ll need her husband’s consent to apply for the kids visas or take them out of Nigeria dalexy101037: It's her first passport , so should she says she is single as well or married she would be using her fathers name |

Is this her first passport? If so, she should stick with the NIN details cos it’s expensive and cumbersome changing surname or marital status on the NIN portal dalexy101037: Good day guys, i need advice, a friend is trying to apply for her passport. Here is the issue - 1) she is married but presently seperated from her husband and they have two kids together. 2) she still uses her fathers surname at work, major credential, nin & bank . 3) in future, if the travelling pulls through, she might needs travel first and later bring the kids, the kids bear the fathers surname.
Now she wants to know which name should be in the passport, her fathers name or the husband ? Should she declare married or single in the passport ? |

Work hours are also 40 per week. Can one take extra working hours elsewhere under same category (short supply)?
Thanks in advance. P.S: see attached

Congrats to you and your family. Did you have to prove POF or did the sponsor indicate one month maintenance? Wisdom7400: VISA ALERT Route: Skilled worker (Tier 2) Senior care assistant For my wife (but I did the whole applications and follow ups) Will join later with the kids My own story na grace ooh. Job enquiry April 22 (my enquiry mail entered junk and employer pulled it out and replied me) job interview June 1st job offer June 28 offer letter Aug 26th cos nov 5th visa application 1st dec (Standard) biometrics 7th dec (Ikeja TLS ASSISTED SERVICE) decision 16th dec transferred to vac 21st dec received by vac 21st dec dispatched with dhl 21st received today from dhl 28th dec (dhl delayed due to festive period) It actually took a very long time due to COS allocation I took a lot of risk...even sent the kids to village thinking everything will work by September for where! She had 3 interviews from different employers but this one scaled through. 3 PCCs (from 5k to 40k), 2 TB tests
I also have another story to share for my friend that is not on this forum. His COS was quite swift (1 week). only one job application. He is currently on visa application. Also he did ecctis, which came out in less than 24hrs after payment (swift too). I paid 48hr fast track service for him but it was less than 24hrs (from 21st-22nd). I don't know if it was because of their holiday that started on 23rd. I was shocked because most people in this forum said ecctis takes 20days, 30days lol. I thank God for everything and everyone who contributed to my questions. Its quite a helpful forum cos I read from the beginning of the thread. Thank you guys!! |

Thanks @fathermonkey for the elucidation...it gave more clarity and elicited more empathy from me...she couldn't even attend a sibling's funeral...but it is, what it is (as sad as that sounds). The way it is now, a US visit visa seems like a mirage...so it is better to look at a longer term plan (which you guys are doing already) i.e. the Canada EE route for you as her child and her reaping the benefit as a parent via supervisa etc; or a family reunion at any of the Caribbean countries without jeopardizing your re-entry back into US soil etc. I'm sure that your mum is more interested in you guys settling down and cementing your statuses, and she can make do with video calls for now while those processes are ongoing. Let's keep the faith and keep hope alive. May all your good plans come to fruition. God bless... fathermonkey: Hey Dampops.
It's okay to assume the actions taken might be desperate. If one sibling has not seen her in 5 year since he started college, I think its worth giving a shot to get a visa, if we keep graduating and she cant be present I also think it's worth giving a shot.
As regards your question as to why we cant visit her in the UK, two of us are on OPT, currently trying to adjust status through our workplaces. Lawyers and school DSOs advise that you should not try leave the country while on OPT especially if your visa is expired as there's a high chance on getting denied since you're done with school, and our employers trying to adjust status for us definitely doesn't help.
One sibling who is still in school can attempt to go visit her, but he'd need to renew his visa but she wont buy that as she's probably too traumatized at this point. I came home in 2019 and renewed my visa via Dropbox before going home and letting her know I was around but had renewed my visa already. That’s how terrible she’s dreaded us stepping out of the US before we get GCs. I guess it’s just parental paranoia
Alternatively, if we are bent on reuniting with her, we could all meet in any of the Caribbean island as those in F1 status can visit the Caribbean islands on expired F1 visas and re-enter the US with no issue. And a couple of Caribbean nations are visa free for Nigerians. But come on, we are talking about her not being even able to attend graduations and missing her sibling's funeral.
And speaking of me exploring the Canadian route, it's the express entry programme for myself since I qualify for it and she also get the benefit way quicker than the American benefit would come from us. And my sibling also works with an organization that can move them to Canada should the need arise. This is in the grand scheme of things for the long run. I hope this address the immigrant intent concern.
As regards what she may have done to trigger the revocation, she didn't give birth to any of her here, if she did, we wont be so worried haha, someone would have filed for her. She has only visited the US for a week for convention, tried to take my brothers to get tourist visa, they got denied and that was the genesis. And she also had her UK visitor visa renewed twice after the revocation before going to study, she has a good track record there so I guess getting her UK student visa wouldnt have been an issue.
In all at this point, her home ties are really working against her, she asked after her last denial why she keeps getting denied, the VO told her point blank that all her kids are in the US. It probably doesn't help to note that she's widowed so I understand her having zero home ties.
In all of this, I do understand that a visa is a privilege. Thanks for your sympathy. |
