Fair enough.. Let people watch and decide if they like it.. Most people won't. The cinematography is the major reason I don't like it..although good casting and acting I will give it that.
how do you know that most people won't like ithuh are you in their mindshuh

people that enjoyed other slow burners like breaking bad, better call saul and mad men will enjoy this one too.

slow burners tell better stories, it's a fact.

Did we watch the same thing? Shit was dark and gloomy most of the time.. And it is boring chief.. And it a slow burner.. It never pick up.. Just espionage nonsense that seem to go on forever.. I rather watch treadstone.. At least that one is more exciting.
bro, it's a bleak show and the cinematography reflected that.

it made it look realistic. it was on point.

the story was compelling and complicated and i didn't know whom to root for until the last season when I finally picked a side.

it was the one of the best show of i've watched and i'll recommend it to anyone.

please don't spoil it for others because your short attention span disorder didn't have the patience to process a quality production.

The Leftovers Season 1
I appreciate the music score, acting and production. But there was no climax in the story
6/10
6/10huh

that's a 9/10 series.

everything about it was perfect.

the music, cinematography, world building, acting...

as for it being anti-climatic, it's a damon lindelof show so if you were expecting a conclusive ending, you picked the wrong show to watch.

you didn't really expect the billions that disappeared to return, did you?

Really??
don't listen to him.

the guy probably watched an aba made version.

the cinematography is one of the high points of the show.

it's a slow burner so people with short attention span will tell you that it's boring, which is far from the truth.

season 4 (the last season) is fast paced tho.

Over the top actions with funny and touching moments sprinkled here and there, not without flaws, Michael Bay lays the groundwork for something that might become the next fast and furious-esqeu franchise. Seriously some scenes in this movie were borderline hilarious, the pop culture references were tight!
the camera cuts were a mess.

scene consistency was a joke.

editing was an epic fail.

but my god, it was a thrill ride.

Well, I have edited some words n sentences that may portray me as a misogynist. The post did not as well reflect my character. U may go n check again.

The point I was trying make was the ladies chose it. A good woman would have just declined. She will certainly achieve her dream where no one will ask for her body. They could have as well report to the upper room, I mean the chairman and if impossible decline as i've mentioned earlier.
bros it's not as simple as you think. remember this is a man's world.

do you think it's easy to walk away from a well paying job, or any job for that matter? especially if you're a woman?

do you honestly believe that those women he exploited were willing toolshuh

they bowed to his demands because it's either that or unemployment. and even if they were to report him to HR, he's the modafukin CEO. there is a high chance their whistleblowing will get back to him, which might prompt him to fire them on some trumped up charges to protect himself.

baba, there is no way out for these women. reporting him is out of the question. quiting is also out of the question because there is no guarantee they'll get another lucrative job so soon or ever. if you've ever being unemployed in a very competitive market, you'll know that walking away from a good job is pure madness.

the crux of the matter is that a CEO mustn't put an employee or would-be employee in a situation whereby they are forced to debase themselves in order to keep their or land a job. it's unethical, immoral, perverse and cantankerous.

that lowlife used his position of authority to take advantage of the desperation of his female employees, and ought to be registered as a sex offender, for he was nothing but a pervert imho.

Seunpaul01:
Bombshell.

Don't know if I should give it any rating.

The fuss about the whole thing was unfair and unnecessary. Accused the man as if he forced himself on them, not a single time was the word 'rape' used. Women can be wicked and terrible. Not that I'm supporting the man's action but it is not a new thing in our world of today. And the actions of the women in this movie will not stop it.

These women want to achieve the dream of being a star on TV - FOX news to be precise. The man made his intentions known to you i. e what it will take for you to get there; and u choose the one at which u had to sleep with him to get what u want.

U could have leave, keep ur decency and dignity. But no, you slept with the man to have what you wanted. After you had everything you wanted u now realized u had been sexually harassed. Because, a pained woman that just got fired decided to take revenge on her boss. The rest of them followed her. Pls, does that change the fact that they forget about their decency, act as a slut to get what they wanted?

And the one that started the revolution then went ahead to produce this movie, expecting the act to stop in the industry or life. Any woman can choose to leave If you want a job and the owner/boss give a condition that you have to sleep with him first. It's not by force. At the end of the it all they lose that dream and the old man still remain richer than them.

And don't be surprised that lot of women will still tell another boss that does not want anything from them that they would do anything for him to get what they want - if u know what I mean.
don't take this the wrong way bros but you sound like a misogynist.

i've watched the movie too and am squarely on the side of the women.

what the man did was despicable and depraved.

sexual exploitation of female employees must never be condone/encouraged.

he used his position of authority to force sexual favours from his female employees and would-be employees, but what goes around comes around.

you know what they say about payback..."she's a bitch and her stripper name is karma."

his folly caught up with him and all the women he exploited in the past came out of the woodwork to sue the hell out of him.

even rupert murdoch was disgusted with him and had to fire him.

las las he got what he deserved in the end.

for the fact that you're here defending his actions instead of condemning it speaks volume of your character as a person.

Yes, this might be true...killing off her family will leave her with no one expect Christian, so convincing Christian to go means Dani will go because she heavily depend on Christian for support and she will need that support more so ever seeing as she just lost her family.
gbam! we're on the same page.
TV/MoviesRe: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by DandeNumeruno(m):
oyaskii:
I think i buy into DandeNumeruno theory, She has certainly lost everything and she had no life to go back to, the only thing connecting her outside was Christian, whom she wasn't really sure if she sees him as a boyfriend or an emotional support system (Why can't he be both tho), and remember the call she made at the beginning, he even forgot her birthday, i think her ties to Christian was severed finally with that sexual ritual thing..and now she's "May queen" and has a family in Hårga...so that last scene she's was like feeling sorry for Christian then probably remembered all what he has done and was like bleep this mf...hence the smile

In some wierd way i think Pelle knew Dani was destined to be "May queen".
yes, he knew. his mission was to bring her to the cult/commune.

i strongly believed he's the one that killed her family and made it look like a murder-suicidal.

he orchestrated the events that brought dani to him and from there it was easy to invite her to tag along because he knew she won't refuse.
TV/MoviesRe: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by DandeNumeruno(m):
DrDax:
She called you and told you so....
nigga, try to reason like someone with a brain box biko.

dani lost her parents and her sister earlier in the movie, but wasn't able to grief openly and properly because she didn't want to scare off her boyfriend, whom by the way was planning to dump her prior to her family tragedy. now he felt that he's stuck with her, and her female intuition felt his dilemma and hence didn't want to make the situation more unbearable.

then she got invited to a vacation/research trip by her boyfriend's swedish friend. since she didn't want to be alone and needed the company of of people she knew, she accepted.

but what she really needed was a support network. people that will share in her pain, and grieve with her openly. people that will share the pain of loss with her selflessly.

in that swedish cult/commune, she finally encountered the support network she needed.

the commune women grieved with her, cried with her, danced with her and laughed with her.

for the first time since she became an orphan she didn't feel alone. she felt loved and appreciated and when it finally dawned on her amidst the gory sight of her boyfriend's burning flesh, she felt liberated, and hence smiled.

I suspect she was in on it from the beginning. Mission accomplished....
wrong.

she smiled because in a twisted way, she felt liberated from her past life where she was an orphan.

Finally got around to see "Midsommar"...first of this movie was down right disturbing.. secondly the cinematography was stunning... thirdly the idea tho not fresh was refreshing...but i think the movie could have been so much more plot wise, seeing the director's cut i thought i will get more perspective but i would say it ended abruptly..

Like am so on the fence on this movie certainly not first choice to recommend to people because you can easily throw up seeing this movie but again the cinematography is breathtaking...

Finally was Ari Aster channelling his inner Christopher Nolan with that cheeky smile at the end scene? What did that mean? Liberation for Dani?
in a bleeped up way, yes.

she smiled because she's free of him. he was the last link to her past life and now that it's purged, she can now begin a new one with her new family.

I'm going to share a vague memory i have of the movie, I've been trying to to download it but everyone i asked doesn't have a clue.

In the movie, i think there some soldiers (i think) on an island or so... There are some beasts that look like half man half dog/lion... If they bite you or scratch you, you become one them. In the end i think only two survived, they escaped with the help of one of the soldiers who was bitten, he sacrificed himself for them to go underground while he blew up the place with gas.

Anyone with a clue of the movie ?
what you described sounds a little like the island of dr moreau (1996).

Anna . 7.2/10

Good movie to unwind on.
If you liked "Atomic blonde and Red sparrow" you will definitely love this.

7.2/10 no regrets.
if I hadn't watched atomic blonde before watching anna, i probably will rate it 6/10, but atomic blonde made anna look like a cheap knockoff.

so anna is 4/10 for me.

anna has so many plot holes that it's laughable at some point.

how could a skinny girl easily best multiple assailants (in an open area for that matter and all the assailants brawny men twice her size and strength) in a fighthuh

if you watch atomic blonde you will notice that charlize theron character always use foul play and wit to gain the upperhand in all her fight scenes, and all the beatings she received took a toll on her. in one particular scene, she took a hell of a beating and only managed to win by pure luck.

atomic blonde showed me how to do a convincing fight scene that involves a skilled woman fighter and multiple men adversaries. charlize theron character knew that when it comes to size and strength and numbers, she's at a considerable disadvantage, so she adapted by fighting defensively and dirty.

anna is thrash compared to atomic blonde.

if you love atomic blonde and appreciate the technical and tactical accuracies of the fight scenes, you will hate anna.

my opinion tho.
