nani667: Baba all dis you said is Skrep... And I remember hearing something like this in the series, but it is still Skrep... Their Dr. Manhattan was terrible...And you know dis disagreed. the black guy played an awesome dr manhattan imho. he got the mannerism right. spoke like him too. what about adrian veldt that went from godlike figure to a grizzly old man? i don't see you complaining about that. or silk spectre that went from a smoking hot vigilante to an old cynical fbi agent that now hunts vigilantes? those drastic changes are the things you should be complaining about, not a black dr manhattan that had to be killed off anyway. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Series Are You Watching Now? Part 2 by DandeNumeruno(m): 8:44pm On Jan 02, 2020 |
nani667: SEE is what gets better after a few episodes... Watchmen was decent from Episode one... It is at the end it becomes crap, with the Ghetto version of Dr. Manhattan that they decided to give us jokes aside, there's a reason for that. dr manhattan took the form of a black man because of angela. you see, angela wanted a black husband, and dr manhattan complied by taking the form of a handsome black man. even when he went back to being blue again, dr manhattan chose to remain in the form of angela's husband because race didn't matter to him. |

abduleez1: I ain't sure about that. In all honesty Disney has a weak line up compared to The other big two: WB and Universal. The contenders in Disney line up I see are Just Black widow and Pixar's Onward and Soul. It was a super dominant year for Disney last year partly because it released it's biggest Guns at one salvo and other studios were short of "Biggies" that could match up with them.
This year gonna be pretty tough, even if Disney wins the Box office it will be slightly pipping the others, most especially after Fox acquisition just bolstered it the more.
IMHO WB got bigger titles (WW84, Dune, Tenet, Kong vs Godzilla,) same as Universal with (Fast and Furious 9 and Minions). Universal's big TWO alone looks like the sure winners to win 2020 highest movie gross.
I dunno, I might be wrong though, it's wait and see and see how first half of the year pans out. Then we'll know how it will finally unfolds. disney will easily win the box office. i counted 8 strong disney lineups from the picture oyaskii posted. it's not even a contest. WB will win the oscar war tho. |
TV/Movies › Re: What Movie Are You Watching Now? by DandeNumeruno(m): 4:49pm On Jan 02, 2020 |
oyaskii: I think "Tenet" is my most anticipated movie for this year.. because greatness tends to happen when Christopher Nolan is running the show damn! disney wants to win the box office war again. |

SirMichael1: LOL. According to that same geography you have refused to consult, yet would want me to school you...
Due to the vastness of the ocean body, it absorbs sun rays, heat waves during the day and releases it to the surrounding land. Then you wake at midnight consulting your oracle why you're been punished for a crime you're yet to commit.
So the fact that you're staying close to the sea, doesn't give you the luxury to afford chilled weather any day. The only way you'll get chilled harmattan breeze is when the harmattan wind from the north reaches you guys until then, you can keep being the useless ethnic bigot you are and get the fûck off my mentions with your unintelligence. you're too smart for the fool. just let him be. |

KoiceReloaded: The Morning Show
Reminds me of Aaron Sorkin's Newsroom a little bit.
The cynic in me couldn't help noticing Apple device bias in the show. The Apple Plasma TV screen that refused to break from Mitch's assault was a particularly irritating scene.
I think I've watched The Office way more than I should have, cuz for the life of me, I couldn't bring myself to take Steve Carrell's character serious. His temper tantrums gave off strong Michael Scott vibe, and often, I would catch myself sniggering at the thought.
Jennifer Aniston's peformance was solid. She sold her character to me, I have no complaints.
I detest Reese Whiterspoon's character. She overacts, like a lot. Never been a fan of her anyhow, thus it's possible it's my dislike verbalizing.
Overall, it's not a bad show. I mean, the writing could use a little tweaking, but it's very entertaining, and has a lot of potential. for me it's the other way round. I can't stand jennifer aniston's character. what a bitch. and she's always so angry. |

abduleez1: Who's your BEST VILLAIN of the Decade??
It's pretty tough, but my top 3 in no particular order are:
Arthur Fleck— JOKER Ernesto— COCO Bane— THE DARK KNIGHT RISES in top 3 in no particularly order rose armitage; no one saw her coming. the audience didn't and neither did her boyfriend. amy dunce; there is a saying that goes like this "you can't eat your cake and have it". well, this woman did. terrence fletcher; fletcher was the ultimate taskmaster. he was ruthless, uncompromising, sadistic, unsympathetic. |

abduleez1: Definitely gonna be renewed. After all it's HBO's biggest hit and most watched show after GoT final season this year. it's a miniseries so i don't know. miniseries don't have two seasons although there are exceptions. I checked hbo's 2020 schedule, all their renewed and new shows are there, but watchmen isn't. besides, lindelof said he won't be returning as he has intended season 1 to be a complete story. am still hopeful that hbo will change their mind tho. if hbo can give a miniseries like big little lies a season 2 because of popularity, then it's possible they will do the same for watchmen. fingers locked. |

easily the best tv show of 2019.

Brukx: Damon Lindelof should have produced witcher. He is good at manipulation of flashbacks and flashforwards people are complaining that the witcher is complicated and you want someone that is known for mindfvcks to anchor the witcher he will turn the witcher into lost. we will have flashbacks, present and flashfuture and alternative reality in one episode. no sir. i prefer my fantasy straight forward. |

Stonecoldstare1: I mean there was no need in baiting movie watchers. It would still have hit it's mark if it were a psychological flick instead. I loved it and there were some similarities between it and Ari Aster's previous work "hereditary" although it was far predictable than hereditary In both movies a tragedy happens to the main character like Hereditary the mom’s daughter dies and in MidSommar the girl’s parents dies. In both movies a friend suggests things to get their minds off of it like the friend suggests that the girl goes with them to his homeland in MidSommar and the woman shows the mom Ouija rituals in Hereditary. Turns out that was a set up and that character was part of something bigger like the guy with his people in MidSommar and the woman in her cult in Hereditary. Both movies have the same formula because it’s the same guy. I do give props to MidSommar for unique camera shots and it’s not a terrible bad movie I just rather would watch Hereditary. hereditary is the better of the two movies, both are solid psychological horrors imho. |

Stonecoldstare1: I kinda think midsommar was marketed wrong as an horror flick instead of an artsy psychological movie about karma
Studios tend to do this to draw audiences in. There was nothing scary about the movie. I kinda agree it was weird but watching it with my 6 and 8 year old siblings who ended up laughing at every scene demonstrating their queer customs just reminded me of this fact it qualifies as psychological horror imho it's not the kind of horror that jumps out at you. it's the kind that sneaks up on you and makes you very uneasy. midsommar didn't scare me but it shocked the hell out of me. not as much as hereditary shocked me but it did a good job of making me go wtf?! there is something horrific about naked old women surrounding another naked old woman assisting a roofied naked man have an involuntarily sex with a naked teenage girl. and that's not the worst thing that happened in that film it's a solid psychological horror. not something I will watch with children. |

budaatum: Just finished Godfathers of Harlem, and feel like kicking those who hyped it so much. Personally, I'd give it a 4, plus perhaps an additional 2 for its historical content. I feel its setting up to improve in season 2 though.
And before anyone knocks me, Breaking Bad is 9, Mayan MC is 8 and my favourite, The Wire is a whopping 11¾ out if 10.
Anyone got recs along those lines please? nobody is going to knock you. your rating is justified. i liked godfather of harlem tho. have you watched the deuce. it's from the same guy that spearheaded the wire. |
