No matter the genre, if series is mind-blowing the way they made it sound here, forget it. From the first 3 episodes, you would know (except it's a slow burner) which isn't the case here

ever heard of overhyping?

people inherently overhype shows they like and sometimes other people will go in expecting to be mindblown, and when things don't turn out the way they want, they will start blaming the show.

first before you watch a show check the genre, read the synopsis online, check the imdb ratings, and if it's something in your alley, then go ahead and watch it.

never watch shows based on hype alone, i learnt that the hard way recently.

You get time. My dad always says that if you look too closely at the anus, you will see a lot of rubbish so the best thing is to just glance briefly and waka pass.

those plot holes are things you can't miss if you're observant enough.

i couldn't help but notice them and I wasn't even that attentive.

6 underground was a rubbish movie but that's fine because it never took itself seriously to begin with. for instance magnet doesn't work in real life as was depicted in that film.

the film's aim was to entertain and it did that just fine.

lol am someone that pay close attention to what am watching and i notice things others may have missed.

if you still have the film go back to the car chase at the beginning.

if you pay close attention you'll see following scene inconsistencies..

i) side mirror gets smashed, next scene it's fully intact

ii) car gets shot, next scene no bullet holes

iii) driver is wearing a cap, next scene no cap, next scene he's back to wearing a cap.

iv) in the car drift scene, reynolds has his head poked out the window, in another camera cut of the same scene, he's not there.

v) girl at the back has blood on her face and mouth, next scene the position of the blood on her face is different and no blood on her mouth.


.....and don't get me started on the rest of the film.

all in all, the camera cuts and editing were a mess.


i still enjoyed it tho but it's not something i'll recommend to someone.

Have you seen the following: Honeymoon In Vegas, Con Air, The Rock,... etc. How i wish you were nearby, i would have borrowed you my 24 in 1 collection, all Nicholas Cage movies. After seeing it, compare his acting performance then with what he frequently dishes out now, then you'd have a better understanding why i said what i said.

an actor is only as good as the movie script.

give a talented actor a good script and they will give you an inspired performance,

give them a shitty script and they will give an uninspired performance.

nicholas cage is not a miracle worker.

he just want to get paid.

How the mighty has fallen. This flick was clear evidence that Oga Bruce has finally lost his way. What in God's name really happened to this talented actor. In recent times, i used to rate Nicholas Cage at the top of the list of remarkable actors who went from Grace to Sh.it, but with this performance from Will's, he has definitely topped the list.
Horrible & cliché story, bad acting, the only good thing about the flick was the cinematography.
If you fancy shi.tty movies and you've got enough MB to waste, then you'll definitely love this one.

nicholas cage never stopped being remarkable.

he has always been a good actor.

falling into financial difficulties is the reason why he's accepting b and c movie roles.

but even so, his mere presence in them elevates those shitty movies.

I said 90% , that's kinda an exaggeration though, the fact is that no war movie depicts up to 70% accuracy. All are facts and fiction mixed together almost at par.
If I may ask, how do you know which is fact & which is fiction. Based on what i read on Wikipedia, i strongly disagree that that the movie was more fiction than fact, & I'll rather say they were equals.
Facts that concurred with the movie.
-Firstly, Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941 was what precipitated the entrance of the United States into World War II, before then the US was neutral.
-After two hours of bombing, 18 U.S. ships were sunk or damaged, 188 U.S. aircraft were destroyed, and 2,403 people were killed... simply put, the totality of what happened at Perl Harbor was 90% perfectly depicted.
-The code breakers were key to the attack
-From the horses mouth, Retired U.S. Navy Rear Adm. Samuel J. Cox, director of the Naval History and Heritage Command and the Navy's liaison for the film, says the movie is more accurate than 1976's "Midway" starring Charlton Heston and Henry Fonda. Cox ultimately gave the current telling a strong thumbs up......etc

America is good, everyone else is bad. Yes for this movie I'll rather cling to that philosophy, so long as the Japs are unwilling to give their own version of the story.

Same here. Until someday everything becomes clearer and one gets the bigger picture. And a more severe programming, is when you think, act, talk and behave like an American, when you see America has the good and saviour and other countries as the bad and villains. When your definition of civilization is entrenched in the American way of life. When you perceive your culture or people as being primitive and Americans as being civilized. When your definition of America is original and anything else is fake. When you think you more less of a human and America are more of humans. When you think Americans are smarter and others are less smart. A perfect scenerio of inferiority complex..I could go on and on.

There isn't need for the stereotype and attack. Entertainment and most things in life are RELATIVE term, all depending on the persons definition and perception.

Some people may find cartoons and animes interesting, while others may not. Others may like Chinese movies, while some may prefer Bollywood.

Truth is, America has really brainwashed so many people. And it starts with very little things, from the music you listen, to the movies and videos. Such that you don't even know you have been under programing.

If you find only Hollywood movies interesting and anything American to be better than others then, you might be one of the victims of long time programming.

If you always see Americans as the good while others the bad and ugly, plus their subtle programming and stereotyping of religion, race, etc; then, you are also a victim of programming. Most time I watch American movies/series, and all their bs and stereotyping on race, religion etc I just laugh.

Personally, I like anything that entertains me and gives me the necessary thrills. Whether American movies, Spanish movies, Soap Operas, Cartoons, Bollywood, Bollywood, British etc.

And series like, Money Heist, Elite etc are cool Spanish
series to binge when American series become boring to you. I'd prefer to be open, rather than be rigid.

However, do whatever that rocks your boat.

Lolz, about the Carriers being impenetrable, i wasn't referring to the events in the movie, i meant as in presently. The Carriers they have presently are almost impenetrable, cause they know any direct hit to any of those Carriers will cause an unimaginable cataclysmic event.

And again, i don't think the script was fallacious, from what I've read online, i think that's approximately 90% of what actually happened. The Us for the first time, knew they stood little or no fighting chance against the Japanese. Go back & rewatch the movie, after the attack at Perl Harbor the US Navy was demobilized, they had just one carrier as against the Japs 3 carriers. They won the war on the naval front as a result of the surprise strategy they employed, while the Japs lost cause of their over confidence.


Yup, that was one of the main reasons. I also think the events at Perl Harbor also spured the dropping of those nukes.

1)a movie may run about 2-3 hours, but a tv series is episodic in the sense that it has no real time constraint. depending on the tv show, it can run for years or a day.

2)movies and tv series are shot on different video formats - the former is shot in 70mm while the later is shot in 35m

3) then the awards....movie of the year win academy awards aka oscars while tv shows win emmy awards aka emmys.

4)movies are called big/silver screen and are watched in cinemas or home, while tv series are called small screen and are not allowed in cinemas.

tv series get categories - drama, sitcom/comedy, dramedy, soap opera, miniseries, reality series, etc.

but why did I even bother, i don't expect a dull brain like yours that can only process brain cell eating trash like telenovelas and zeeworld to know/comprehend these things.

Midway(2019)..7.5/10
Genre: Action, Drama, History

Dialogue & acting were convincingly delivered, special effects were quite good, even the fast paced scenes, the story was amazingly told, it had 3 historical events( attack on pearl harbor, doolittle Tokyo air raid and battle of midway) fused together, to bring about the greatest naval battle in history on moving pictures.
Now i have an inkling why the 10 actual US Carriers are impenetrable, destroy those carriers & you've won the war on the naval front. After the havoc the Japanese wreaked at Pear Harbor, irrespective of the US being neutral at that point in time, I'd have gladly said they deserved Hiroshima and Nagasaki. But menh, dropping atomic bombs & killing 90,000 to 146,000 people on Hiroshima and 39,000 to 80,000 on Nagasaki, was a step taken too far IMHO.

the only commendable thing about that film were cinematography and action vfx, nothing more.

the script was fallacious. it made US navy looked impenetrable when in actual history japanese navy came very close to invading california.

nuking japan was necessary because at that time, the dreaded japanese kamikaze had sunk US warships, and damaged more. the US navy was hemorrhaging and it was either nuke japan or lose the pacific.

So I finally got to watch "Once upon a time in Hollywood", it's good, not too good, but good.
Let me a say I'm a follower of Saint Quentin. Watched all his movies. It's bittersweet to watch him resign. He's the Zinedine Zidane of Hollywood.

7/10 +1. ( In memory of the real event). 8/10

it's not supposed to lead to anything. when the first episode aired, it was assumed that many dogs were abandoned when their owners departed. so they became wild, formed packs and hunt animals and humans alike.

kevin was afraid that he'd gone crazy too so i put the dog killings as him putting them out of their misery and also ridding himself of his unwanted side.

it's also allegorical in the sense that it ties in with the theme of the show, which is, people would do anything to find something to believe in.
