Remember that the major reason butcher saw homelander as a foe was cause he thought homelander raped and killed his wife, but with him realising that homelander was in fact innocent, do you think he'll still consider him a foe? Rationally he shouldn't, cause there's basically nothing there anymore to propel the hate.
I honestly kinda see the series/new season, degenerating to the CW superhero series(flash, Arrow.. etc), but this time around, rather than showing us their shortcomings alone, they'll be showing their heroic sides as well, thus bringing both at pari passu.
I really want to be wrong on this honestly, but the hand writing on the wall is quite glaring.

homelander is far from innocent bros. he may not have murdered butcher's wife as presumed, but he is still guilty of raping butcher's wife. butcher has all the more reason to hate him now if anything.

do you know the kind of trauma that comes with having a wife of yours get raped and completely powerless to do anything about it? and what if after many years, that same wife of yours turns up with a child that is not yours, how will you feel? now imagine how butcher felt.

his old hatred for homelander is dead and in it's place a brand new and fiercer hatred is sown and is growing very fast.

you need to calm down and watch this show, it's great with very little plot holes.

They were not sure of a second season, so they wrapped things up as quickly as they can. I guess this affected the last 3 episodes. Hopefully, the second season will try to make up for those episodes.

I know and that is what I mostly look out for in a series, that's why I thoroughly enjoyed Fargo (well crafted masterpiece) and The Boys was looking to be well crafted but it kinda did a u turn and started feeling like a generic tv series. Hardly anyone there seem to know how to act, seriously. The only interesting character is the butcher followed by Frenchie (and that guy can't act for shit). The last episode was shit, that twist was rubbish and will eventually ruin the show!!!

I was looking forward to it becoming a great show but now it seems like it's gonna be a teen fantasy series.

imho it's an awesome tv show that shows the dark side of the superhero business in a way it has never been shown before. it's plain crazy and weird. it's right up there with 'preacher' and 'doom patrol' as one of the most bizarre superhero tv shows made in this decade.

how can you not love the boys homelander is a great villain and butcher a great protagonist. it's a david vs goliath situation and I can't wait to see how it will pan out.

the twist is the end is one of the best I ve seen.

butcher went years thinking that homelander raped and killed his wife, but all the while, she was alive, hidden away and raising homelanders super son.

it's a great twist.

now butcher is gonna to throw away the old hate and cultivate new ones. it sets up what could be an epic season 2.

This The Boys series started out really well but slacked off so bad so much that I'm not enthusiastic for the next season.

world building(back story, character and plot development) is necessary for a good story. we will start reaping the payoff from next season onwards. season 1 was an just introduction.
