A LESSON FROM THE FIG TREE ( THE POWER OF WORDS)

Mark.11.21 - And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.

A recent IKEA publicity stunt was aimed to portray the impact of positive and negative words on the growth of plants. The experiment was carried on various plants, the 30 day trial produced some fascinating results.

Two plants were placed in the same setting, one was played voice recordings of comfort and complimentary words, the other was constantly abused by harsh words.

After 30 days were finished, the bullied plant showed unmistakable signs of wilting, while the complimented plant seemed to flourish.

Never underestimate the power of Words when spoken over a period of time. They are spirit and they can impart life or death. Prov 18:21

THE POWER OF A TRANSFORMED MIND

Rom.12.2 - And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

When we get born again our Spirit becomes saved. The saving of the mind or the soul is a gradual process, while the saving of the body is at the rapture.

The soul/ Mind needs to be transformed after salvation because it has been programmed to think and act contrary to God's word, being influenced by the elements of the world.

When the mind is transformed, it can then know the will of God. It can discern the good, the acceptable and perfect will of God in most situation. God's word is the instrument for mind transformation. James 1:21. Eph 4:23.

Acts 10:38- how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and Power who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.

Secondly, I reach for that conclusion because before the man did those things, he was sick.

A man was diagnosed with liver issues. He took two weeks off, armed himself with Christian literatures, devoured them within that two weeks. And after then, he was healed.

As for the verse by James, he says you submit to God, this in obedience of His Truth , as Jesus Christ instructed of those whose father is the devil. I.e.. they were slaves to sin - John 8 vs 31 - 44.

well, I think we both agree on what it means to submit to God. It is to do his will.

The Late Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa shared a story of how he was always attacked by a particular dog whenever he approaches his vehicle.

On this particular day the dog pursued so hard as the vehicle was moving. Then God told him; Son apply your brake. He did just that and the dog hit the back of the car cos it wasn't expecting it to stop, and that was the end of its harassment.

Sometimes when the harassment from the Devil is too much, apply your brakes. Take time out, gather momentum and knock him out.

Most times when God wants to bring a man to his divine purpose for his life, he changes his name. This is done to usher them into the reality he has for them.

In Africa for instance, many name their Children based on the circumstances surrounding their birth, and most times these circumstances are unpleasant. 1Chr4:9.

Names most times are Prophetic. So if your name is not in line with God's word it should be changed and this will usher you into a new reality.

What you have stated so far has nothing to do with the power of God or God at that. So let's get back to the issue here.

1. You created this thread asserting that prayer is the key to "opening" the heavens. But all four accounts of the same story do not support this claim you make, yet you keep insisting upon it. Why?

2. According to all 4 accounts though, we are told that the Spirit of God descended from the open Heaven on Jesus Christ that very moment and from that time on, Jesus Christ, led by the Spirit of God, went about doing His Father's work. So it is more plausible to argue that the Heavens opened in order that the Spirit of God may occupy Jesus Christ just as John the Baptist had said it would be.

3. According to Jesus Christ's teaching, the Spirit of God makes His home inside of those who are Holy and from them on, He never leaves or takes a break from them... He stays forever. This is one of the core differences between the "anointings" of the Spirit described in the Old Covenant and those who have the Spirit living inside of them as taught of by Jesus Christ.- John 14 vs 23 - 25.

Those who have the Spirit of God living inside of them are literally possessed by Him...there is no such thing as a "flow" of any kind as that entity is there 24/7, and you cannot escape Him as He is there to make you(control you) carefully obey the comandments/rules of God just as God Himself declared in Ezekiel 36 vs 24-27

I think Luke was drunk to include the prayer part. Don't you think so?

We already have here 4 witnesses for the same story - Matthew, Mark, Luke and John - and not a single witness even hints at prayer being the Key to opening of the heavens. So, why do you keep insisting that prayer is the key?

Do you have the Spirit of God living inside of you? If you did, you would realize how meaningless that "the Flow of the spirit or the anointing of the spirit" you all go about spouting really is.

I now no the kind of Religion you practice. You have a form of Godliness, but you deny the power of God. 2 Timothy 3:5. You think Christianity is just quoting Scriptures? No. It is birthed in power. 2Timo3:5.

first of all do you pray? Because if you do and are consistent, you must have experienced what we call the Flow of the spirit or the anointing of the spirit. That is if you believe it is for believers.

You see, the Holy Spirit is the one that communicates heavenly realities to us. In the new testament especially, when the heaven opens, God sends the Holy Spirit or the anointing rather, to bring to pass his purpose in the life of the believer. 1Cor 2:9, Rom 8:11, Zach 4:6

My dear friend, if Jesus had not prayed, the heavens wouldn't have been opened to him.
Or what do you think he was praying for? Rice and beans? Now check his prayer life. Luke 5:16, Luke 6:12, Matt14:23, Mark 6:46 Heb 5:7

Now am not talking about heaven opening and rain falling, or the blessing of Tithes and offerings, am talking about the Holy Spirit anointing, the power from on high, that empowers you to prosper, live victoriously etc.

The Scriptures reveals that every time the heaven is opened and the Holy Spirit move, it is as a result of Prayers. Luke 3:21, Acts 2:1-4, Acts 4:31

KEY TO AN OPEN HEAVEN

Luke.3.21 - Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened,

Now one would have thought that the heaven opened up to Jesus because he was the son of God, but no. He prayed the heaven open.

When the heaven is opened on you, you experience the anointing, favour, joy, Miracles, increase, direction and revelation.

You too can experience an open heaven where you are. You can pray the heaven open on your life, businesses etc. And the anointing of the spirit would rest on it. PRAYER is the key.

John.14.14 - If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it

While on Earth, the Lord taught a lot about prayer. Not only did he teach, he gave himself to prayers, in so much that it was on record that the only thing the disciples asked him to teach them was how to pray Luke 11:1-4

Yes, he taught the disciples what many call the Lord's prayer, but here he is talking about praying in his name and meeting our specific needs. John 14:13

The Lord is at our service. He has promised to answer us and do what we say. So what do we do? We approach him in prayer, and we don't give up until we have our desires. Hallelujah Luke 18:1
