Christianity EtcThe Little That Means Alot by Dangerousboy(op): 6:35am On Jun 02, 2021
THE LITTLE THAT MEANS ALOT

Mark.12.41-44 : And Jesus sat over against the treasury... And there came a certain poor widow, and she threw in two mites.....And he called unto him his disciples, and saith unto them...that this poor widow hath cast more in, than all they which have cast into the treasury.....For all they did cast in of their .abundance; but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.

From the above, we can see two things;
1. Nothing is too little to give. The woman gave the little she had to the work of God. She gave what she had

2. God values sacrificial giving. She gave all she had. Though it was small, but it was her life savings. Jesus knew this because of the gift of the Spirit, the woman told No one..

So don't feel bad if people mock your seed. As long as its your capacity and your best, it means a lot. Let's not forget to give to the work of God, our brethren and humanity at large.

ONE THING IS NEEDFUL

Luke.10.42 - But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

What is that which is needful that Mary chose? Well, verse 39 told us she paid attention to the word's of Jesus, while her sister was busy with the issues of life.

Mary chose to spend time with the word despite her busy schedule, she still made time to listen to what Jesus has to say. Why? Because it is what Jesus say's that really matters.

Heaven and Earth shall pass away afterall, but his word's won't, they are eternal. Matt 24:35. So let's give the word our uttermost attention.

YOUR GIFTS CAN OPEN DOORS

Prov.18.16 - A man's gift maketh room for him, and bringeth him before great men.

Standing before Pharaoh and his council was the Hebrew boy ' Joseph'. Why was Joseph before Pharaoh? Genesis41:1-15

Pharaoh's butler had earlier recommended Joseph to Pharaoh because he knew Joseph had a gift, the gift of dream interpretation.

Joseph gift was what brought him to the palace. So also, your gift can also bring you greatness if only you discover and use it.

Don't hide your gift, it can bless other's. it could even save lives as in the case of Joseph. At the end, what really matter's is the lives you were able to touch with your gift's.

NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES

Phil.2.9 - Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:

I remember the story of a dear friend of mine who was being electrocuted and was about passing out while doing a minor connection.

As the electric current surged through his body, he was paralyzed, and could merely speak, and those around him fled leaving him to his fate.

But then, he remembered the NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES. He called the name in anticipation and expectation, then the one who has the name showed up. The cable that held him glued Miraculously dropped off his hands and that was how his life was preserved.

The proceeding verse tells us his name; 'JESUS'. It doesn't matter the name of that situation, the name is BIgger, Greater and still wonder working. Expect it to work for you. Phil 2:10-11

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?

Mark 9:29....... and he said, “Just as you have believed, let it be done to you.”(ABIPE)

What has your doctor told you? What is your situation saying? What names are people calling you? Now what do you believe?

Your attitude should be; it may be happening to others but not to me. Why? Because am a child of God, so my case is different

Your life goes in the direction of your faith or believe. Refuse that Negative report of sickness, poverty, barreness, stagnation etc.it is not for you.

Believe that you will make it, you will be who and what God wants you to be, you will see good days, live to a ripe old age etc. Chose to believe God's word. It is unto you according to your faith.

Christianity EtcThe Healing Power Of An Apology by Dangerousboy(op):
THE HEALING POWER OF AN APOLOGY

Jas.5.16 - Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed.......

Notice it didn't say 'Sin' rather it says 'faults'. You confess your sins to God because he alone can forgive sin, but in your relationship with others, you can offend them and be at fault.

And whenever your at fault, and you realize it or you were told so, you should learn to apologize. Never underestimate the power of an apology and forgiveness.

Now not apologizing when wrong is a sign of pride, It corrupts your heart and this can be destructive it can give Satan an entrance into your life. Always apologize when you offend someone because you never know the extent of hurt you caused them

Thats why it says pray for one another that you may healed because when someone forgives you, the person let's go and wishes you good luck.

So learn how to apologize to friends, family, colleagues, your boss, your subordinates etc. When wrong there is power in an apology.

ACKNOWLEDGE THE GOOD THINGS IN YOU

Phlm.1.6 - ........ acknowledge every good thing which is in you in Christ Jesus.

There is a saying that the richest place in the world is the Cemetery. Though I don't agree with that because, if your reading this it means you and I are alive, but there's a little truth in it, what is the truth?

Everyone born in this world is designed for a purpose, and to fulfill that purpose, your given specific gifts and talents both physical, and spiritual to fulfill that.

There are gifts in you, waiting to be recognized and used. Don't let it waste, do something with it. Don't take it to the grave with you, It is given you to serve humanity.

Recognize it, develope it, celebrate it, acknowledge it, and use it. 2Timo 1:6.

Interesting claim you make there! "...and dropped it at the apostles feet" . And was there giving to the apostles in obedience of the commandment of Jesus Christ or do you think they did that arbitrarily? undecided

And the apostles, at whose feet you claim the proceeds from selling possessions were dropped, what did they in turn use it for? undecided

How does any of the above compare to your giving( after clearly revealing that Jesus Christ instead commands that our giving be to those poor) to your churches and their pastors? undecided

How does any of what is commanded in Matthew 25 vs 30 - 41, to do with your giving to your churches and their pastors, for instance? undecided
ur just trying to twist the scriptures, there's nothing to argue there. The Apostles use the proceedings to take care of the church and its members

the believer's in the book of Acts, sold their possessions, and dropped it at the apostle's feet. Acts 3.

HOW TO LEND TO GOD

Prov.19.17 - He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

I Came across these verse few years ago and it was an eye opener. Do you mean I can lend my money to God? Yes. And how can I do that by giving to the poor.

The poor is anyone who is in need of what you have in abundance. That's why the word say's the poor is always amongst us Matt 26:11. Someone is always in need of what you have in abundance.

The Lord Jesus said when we do this, we are doing it unto him Matt 25:40. And it was a common practice in the Church Acts 4:34&35.

Giving to the poor carries an eternal reward also Matt 25:34. And even as we give, let's remember the poor ( the hungry, homeless, orphans, widowed e.t.c)Gal 2:10. And God will pay you back.

1. Where in your Bible are you told that Jesus Christ attacked sinners or unbelievers? undecided

2) Did Jesus Christ tell you that the Pharisees were "sinners" and unbelievers? undecided

3) Jesus Christ never needed to attack the sinners in His time because He never had any reason to. He came for those who knew themselves as sinners, those sick in need of a physician. Those who were blind and needed to see. Which of these groups does your LGBTQ community fall under? undecided
God forbid it's not my community. May be its yours since you are a supporter. Ask you self this question; would Jesus tolerate their practices? Or he would preach repentance to them?
Christianity EtcRe: Speak The Truth In Love by Dangerousboy(op): 7:01pm On May 15, 2021
Kobojunkie:
But is the truth in the instance that you pointed to there. Jesus Christ, the Truth of God, is not against the LGBTQ community - He did not go around attacking groups or weighing their choices against His Word. His Law has nothing against the Laws of men or their groups but instead speaks of what is Law in the Kingdom of God. undecided

This can be seen evidenced in the fact that Jesus Christ never attacked the sinners of His day, and never stood against the government of His day even when He was aware of their oppressive regime. undecided

Jesus Christ preached against lust and this in the lives of those who will believe in Him and seek to be a part of His Kingdom. He did not sent His followers out to impose His rule over all but instead to teach His Law to those who will believe in Him. undecided

Speaking the Truth in love requires that one first Know the Truth and be set free by the Truth .i.e. the teachings and commandments of Jesus Christ. undecided
and who told you Jesus never attacked the sinners in his day? Why did he continuously had issues with the Pharisees? Yes he never attacked the Lgbtq at that time because there was no Lgbtq organization then.

Half truth is evil.
Dollar is the to USA as Naira is to Nigeria. What this means is that Naira and dollar should be in the same class.
What you are saying is that water if imported from US will cost 450 naira per bottle. But ours when exported to US will be 1 dollar for about 6 bottles. Does that make Naira valuable or the water inferior.
Before comparing the price of similar products, use China made products and US made products as yardstick and then tell yourself the truth.

SPEAK THE TRUTH IN LOVE

Eph.4.15 - But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things.........

recently, i watched an interview with some Preachers, and they were asked if the LGTB community is against God's laid down rules and most of these preachers were just standing on the fence. One even said; thats not my area.

We should always endeavour to speak the truth and stand by it. It may hurt, it may not be pleasant to hear, it might not be public opinion, and it may make you unpopular but nevertheless it should be said because only the truth can set free. John 8:32

But the truth should be said in love. For instance, if someone is doing the wrong thing, you correct in love and not in anger because, that could send the wrong message and make the truth ineffective.

So love shouldn't stop us from saying the truth because love won't see it's neighbour perishing without doing something about it.

REFUSE SATANS IMAGINATIONS

2Cor.10.5 - Casting down imaginations, and.....bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Some years back, I heard a Pastor narrate how he was about getting married and a thought came from no where saying; what if your intending spouse have an accident and breaks her legs? He said he rejected it in the name of the Lord. That same day, news got to him of how the lady miraculous survived an accident without sustaining any injury.

How does the devil speaks? He speaks through your mind, and gives you thoughts that doesn't line up with God's word. Thoughts of discouragement, making you think your a failure, you wont amount to anything, etc.

He tells you to be unforgiving, bitter, angry, vengeful through your thoughts. And the worst of it he makes it seem as if your the originator of these thoughts.

What do we do then? We cast out Satan's thoughts from our heart's, and speak out God's word to counter and silence his. And this is a continuous process. 1 Peter 5:9

GOD WITH US

Heb.13.5 -....... for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Sometimes, we become oblivious of the ''with you'' presence of God. And other times, we wonder if he is still with us because of circumstances, But God is always there.

He said he would never leave, and he never leaves. He his there at the good times, he is there when it hurt's. When Joseph was in slavery, he was right there Gen 39:2, he was still with him in the prison Gen 39:21.He is always there.

Christianity is a walk of faith Hab 2:4 You can't feel God, but he is always there John 14:16.

So we have to be conscious of his ever abiding presence by confessing, celebrating and appreciating his presence, when we do this we tap into his strength and Joy ps16:11, Neh 8:10.

HE IS RIGHT THERE IN THE STORM

Mark.4.39 - And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Having Jesus in your boat wont stop the storm from coming. Being a Child of God does not exempt one from troubles. As a matter of fact, the bible says many are the afflictions of the righteous psalm34:19. so most of the troubles we face are not necessarily as a result of sin as in the case of Job.

The difference between believers and the world is that Jesus is in our boat, so there's no need to panic. What do we do then? We call upon him in faith and expectation.

Well, I have called and nothing seems to happen. Well, he's working behind the scenes keep expecting. refuse to fear, refuse discouragement. THE MASTER OF THE STORM IS IN YOUR BOAT.
