The Bible isn't about you, wasn't written by you and wasn't addressed to you. The Bible doesn't acknowledge you or your stories. You are just a footnote, a Gentile requiring forgiveness from an Israeli God. You can choose to keep believing those stories if you so wish.
Do not assume I hold the authors and their musings in high regard, as you do. the Bible is a personal manual THAT HAS WORKED FOR ME.I AM A LIVING TESTIMONY OF HOLDING ONTO GOD'S WORK AND personalizing IT AND IT HAS WORKED THE BIBLE IS A MANUAL FOR EVERY CHILD OF GOD.ANYONE OR WHOSOEVER THAT PRACTICES OR FOLLOWS GOD'S WORD IN THE BIBLE AND PERSONALIZES IT,HE WILL SEE IT working FOR HIM/HER |

sonofluc1fer: I wonder who taught you. It's obvious he died for his sins. He was killed for blasphemy.
I no send am. He was a young man, upon whom a vicious form of jungle justice was meted. I had no hand in it. I gain no benefits from the sad death of a young man at the hands of an irate Jewish mob.
I personally do not support his hanging, but I understand the crowd's actions. In a world without Instagram and Facebook, there must have been little excitement going in that city.
From nowhere, a young man springs up with his little gang of 12, performing magic tricks at weddings, and feeding huge crowds with bread and fish.
But the man born in a manger, forgot his lowly beginning. He claimed to be God, insulted all that was held sacred, chased and flogged people doing business in the synagogue.
I understand why they hung him on a cross. I dont unserstand how his death concerns me. Or paid for my sins. I must be fully retarded to believe that. his death means several things 1.he died that you will not be poor, sick or suffer-john 3.16.-for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him will not die but have everlasting life 2.his death means he has given us the power if choice to serve God or go your on way |

sonofluc1fer: He was hung on a cross by his own people, the ones he claimed to save. Someone who healed the sick and performed miracles was suddenly turned upon by the same people?
Maybe they finally figured out he was just a magician, playing tricks on them. He was a criminal that deserved his crucifixion. he died for the sin of mankind. He paid the price we didn't have to pay so that the word of God might be fulfilled And as for those that hanged him,it shows the innate wickedness of man |

AreaFada2: Ah! Lots of men now fear the responsibility of having too many kids o. Many modern women are already "codedly" doing contraception. The injection/depot type & the man is none the wider. After 4 or 5 kids he cannot drive the wife away on ground of infertility.
Many kids come not really because they are desperately wanted but because nothing was done to prevent their conception. Empowering women is always key.
Remember the percentage of educated men is still higher, so enlightening them is still a bit easier. Why can we not do that Are you suggesting we should stand akimbo doing nothing about it? at least thank God the government have accepted some damn responsibility. That's a step I'm in the right direction |
Romance › Re: How To Get Married On A 20k Salary! by dangotesmummy: 1:10pm On Aug 23, 2017 |
AreaFada2: Sure culture plays a big role. But culture is not static. It has been evolving steadily. Enlightenment should not be encountered first in hospital. It should begin with community field nurses & midwives, at school and well before childbearing age.
At the moment, the govt hardly justifies the right to tell people what to do with their own reproductive rights. It has no social welfare system to assist the poor, needy or large families.
For example, you are more likely to take the advice of your caring parents, uncle or aunt than those that care less or are aloof. Same with government. Only those who realise that such advice is in own interest irrespective of government attitude that will take it. And that would be better educated, enlightened and those who can weigh things properly.
People need to be empowered. For example targeting uneducated young mothers to take up adult education. In a functioning federal system local councils can be empowered to handle such adult and social education. like I said before THEY WILL NEVER LISTEN.THEIR HEARTS ARE HARDENED TO WHAT THEY BELIEVE IS RIGHT IN THEIR EYES Field nurses or whatever don't make any difference and don't forget we're in Africa where the man is the alpha and omega of his home and whatever he says is final If the man says I want 18 children even if the woman has gotten enlightened the husband no go gree The African society is disoriented.it only focuses on. The woman and leaves the man as if it's the woman that impregnates herself |

Gerrard59: Pathetic. Appalling. Ridiculous.
Same here. A man whose mason business has seen less demand and contracts decided to worsen his situation and added two kids to three = five children, who are not being fed properly, looked after well and have not started schooling (which if/when they do won't be at proper schools)
Yet another just procreated his 7th child and he relies on his "Pastoral job" to make ends stay afar (surely ends cannot meet). I advised him not to further procreate. I talk tire, offered simple solutions (use condoms, I'll pay for your vasectomy or give the children to orphanages). He did not heed to it.
A false claim people make is that "children are blessings from God". It's a false and deceiving statement. Agberos, Boko Haramites, Evans, Ritualists were "blessings" too. Children become blessings when they are well taken care ADEQUATELY taken care of.
I have left such persons to their fate and focused my fertility activism on the next generation (my contemporaries).
"Giving birth is cheap, raising them is expensive" (Gerrard59, 2016). I don't discuss with poor people because no matter how much you talk and how many examples you give they'll still do what they want to do and if you keep talking in it they'll say your own is too much so the easiest thing is to mind your business When they come knocking on my gate for money for school fees and all, once I look through my window and see they're the ones I'll just leave them to knock forever Forget it the poor think differently and you cannot Change their orientation except maybe they're opportuned to leave their familiar terrain and see how the wealthy or middle class live their lives |

AreaFada2: Good. That is reality. Hence I said not much any of us can do to impose our ideals on others. No matter how reasonable or well-meaning they are. People have different beliefs.
It is govt job to enlighten the citizens. Or give social welfare incentives in a stick & carrot manner to check population growth. education plays a big role but you know in Nigeria today education is only for the children of the rich and middle class. Poor people refuse to listen hence they recycle or transfer their poverty and staunch belief system to their children Social education or government cannot do the work because I was opportuned to go and greet my aunty who's a nurse at government hospital so she told me to wait at the reception so she could attend to some patients that she's coming While waiting I was watching and observing a section of the hospital were they were government health workers were enlightening and encouraging illiterate women/mothers not to have children they cannot take care of and they should come for family planning and all that After the whole meeting I heard a woman say in yoruba "is it government that will tell me take care or train my child" it's God that trains children bla bla bla so this thing is beyond government. Its a cultural thing that says my grandmother had 11 children, my mother had 15 children so I must have 18 children. Its a competition among illiterate women hence its only education that can illuminate their minds and break the strong hold of their poverty mentality and the recycling of poverty |

I saw a little girl of about 4years wandering aimlessly in the market and I noticed everyone was walking past her minding their business, even wheel Barrow person sef used his wheel Barrow to push the little child away from the road and then the motherly instinct in me was like carry this girl to the police station another thing said, dangotesmummy you better mind your business. You can go to the police station and lodge a complaint about a child wandering about then the next thing police will do is claim you kidnapped the girl and because you felt you were almost caught you reported yourself and the next thing is they will rope you for kidnap
So I just faced my front and moved on.who knows maybe the little girl is one of the missing children the. Parents have been looking for.
Helping or supporting the police is not a problem but the police and implicating innocent people trying to help is the problem.
The best way to live a peaceful life in this country is to MIND YOUR BUSINESS |

AreaFada2: It is not about coming from anybody.
Simple reality is many are having kids without any income at all. Hardly anything you or I can do to stop it.
Many cannot even afford condom. Because free WHO condoms end up in chemists for sale. I saw that as a kid in the chemist decades ago already. Some have no information (that you may have) on how to get free ones. Nor be today.
I while I'd not dare start a family earning below 250K monthly if I was in 9ja environment, millions of people are not going to use yours or my ideal standard as theirs. If they did, there would we far less poverty today.
Now, how many people have you been able to dissuade from having kids in poverty?
In 9ja, we like to sit on the high horse postulating what is ideal & lofty. Meanwhile the opposite is happening all around us. That becomes sheer hypocrisy.
The man is here giving a practical solution on how to manage, not theory. area fada excuse me please There's a poor family I met in my church. A family with 8 children and the wife is a full time housewife relying on the father for everything. The man is a bike man and on a good favourable day he comes home with 2k or 2,500 I talked to him about family planning and tried dissuading him from having more kids, eventually all my talking yielded nothing. Recently his wife called me they have a son now, making 9 children all of them relying on 2k per day. When I told him about the dangers inherent in having more kids before he had the 9th that he cannot take Care of ,his response was "it's God that takes care of children" Many of them refuse to listen that's the problem and if you keep talking about it it will look as if you're prying into their business or private lives When he told me that he had his 9th child and 2 of his kids were sent out of school and I should give him money, I hung up the phone on him and didn't say anything. Since then after church he refuses to greet me and even me no send him again. His wife though still greets me then a Sunday she stylishly said it in a play play manner that its you and my husband that are fighting abi are you quarrelling with me too and I replied her immediately that I'm not fighting with anybody o.I only came to church to worship God and I've achieved that.odabo.na so I walked out if her immediately |

Bagehot: Most people don't realize that infidelity is more rampant in poor neighbourhoods. Its in neighbourhoods like that that someone would take advantage of your wife always coming to watch Telemundo to nack her, or your kids coming to charge phones to molest them. It is not uncommon for women in these hoods to have one or two bastards in their flock. An old school mate of mine, whose family were down on their luck, moved to one funny place in Ketu, where its normal for girls to have had 2 kids before 18. Dude was baiting girls with silly things, until he also got hooked impregnating a random girl. Long and short, he has been on the same spot in life since then. of course na.wives and children of poor men are easy to deceive and take advantage of.
