Johesu leaders met with Saraki and collected bribe and betrayed the union. You called off a strike without a public signed agreement, They gave you bribe and made an empty promises to you and immediately you call off a strike. Shame! It's time for the Nursing profession to leave JOHESU! We can't afford to be used as foot soldiers all the time despite our contributions to the health sector. The health minister threatened sack, so what? Who really depends on salary? I own a private school and a pharmacy. So I saw his threats as a joke. Johesu leaders messed up by collecting bribe. *Need to brace up to do the NMAs jobs whenever they are on strike*
Dr Kelly Nwagha fpsn
11:48AM in General News & Information
We heard that the doctors are doing everyone's job at some hospitals. We should not worry as they have thrown the first stone. We will wait for them. Whenever they go on strike, we will also do their duties, which we are very capable of executing and excellently too, thanks to Pharm D. and consultancy status in other professional cadre, and refer surgical cases only to friendly healthcare facilities. If patent Medicines vendors prescribes and treats patients in their localities and make their money to build 1,2,3,4 attorney buildings, the Pharmacists are there to consult, prescribe and treat with better medicines as the only experts on medicines. The Optometrists are there to handle all eye challenges. The nurses would have to add to their curriculum Nurse practitioners course to enable them prescribe medications for patients. The Laboratory scientists are always there to assist with the diagnosis. The Radiographers are there as well. What s it that we don't have. The Physiotherapists nko? All on our side. Dental technicians are d people that do the work of the dentists and even do it better. Its only Surgical procedure only That we will refer as I said earlier. Period.
*copied* wow, so it actually it takes 7 different professional to carryout doctors work, wow indirectly doctors are 7 in 1.. even at that, all the above are just theory, wen patient comes, then let them practiclize the diagnose , like they think malaria and typhoid ll b the only reason patient come to hospital such a deluded union... beside, aside proper diagnose , I think they should also upgrade to have surgery johesuite too. some should further their study study only to O &G Neurosurgery cadiothoracic some to nephrology ENT etc. such deluded being.. dead on arrival theory |

worlexy: I just laugh when JOHESU spread the lies that Doctors can't work without them, that is the greatest lie from the pit of hell. A doctor was trained to be able to do all the works paramedics(JOHESU) does, it's JOHESU that can't do most of what a doctor can do. Now let's not confuse "can" with "won't". The fact that a doctor can work and make the hospital to work at 100% capacity doesn't mean he will do it, if you want doctors to make the hospital work at 100% anytime johesu is on strike, all the FG needs to do is to say for that particular Hospital, all the doctors will be paid for their normal doctor works and will also be paid the for the JOHESU work they will do while the strike lasts(if JOHESU salary in that hospital is N5m, just tell the doctors that since johesu are not working, that 5m will be shared on the doctors salaries while the strike lasts, then you will see that the doctors will do all the works) They won't do it with this present set up because it doesn't make sense to do someone else's work and the person that hasn't worked will still get paid for doing nothing and the person that has done extra work won't get anything extra. Also when the doctors start doing all the work, majority of those that will come and benefit from that service are still the striking johesu members because like they say everytime that they make up 95% of the hospital workforce. Now let's analyse the work johesu do in the hospital
1. Pharmacists The pharmacist in our hospitals only read what a doctor prescribes and dispense the drugs, no more no less. Pharmacists that work in pharmaceutical companies(they are not under johesu because they don't work in the hospital) are the ones that produce drugs and some medical consumables.
2. Nurses They give injections, and other medications to patients, do vital signs some of them take deliveries.
Doctors can do all that
3. Lab scientists and technicians They run tests on blood, urine and other samples sent to them by doctors
There are doctors in the Lab that can also run all the tests but johesu would have locked up the lab so that doctors don't have access to the lab
4. Radiographers They shoot X-ray, CT scan, MRI and doctors in the radiology dept are the ones that report the film the radiographers shoot.
Doctors can shoot too
So have you seen why they always lock up everywhere when they go on strike? my nigga.. Truth be told. |

Solababa91: Please let's leave him to his ignorance, I had told him earlier on to go check what a disease is, a supposed intelligent physician would have at least make findings or enlighten himself with what he doesn't know rather than feigning his ignorance and living on what he's been told or fed with, may be we should tell them it's not business as usual, we've woken up, we have new generations of Professionals now, not the one they run over years back, nobody can paint blue as black for anybody. NOT AGAIN! These has been their problem right from onset, instead of them to bring themselves low and learn NO! rather they will keep boasting and Doctoring on ignorance and it's been affecting them. WHEN ONE THINKS HE KNOWS EVERYTHING AND KEEPS RANTING "STOOFS". The other two up there said an HIV patient cannot have stroke secondary to meningoencephalitis and one was even trying to build STOOF where there exists none by saying blah blah blah "there are diseases HIV patients can have" or whatever, have not seen anyone of them respond on these thread any longer I know they would have made research to visit the link I shared and buried their head in shame. That is same way they formulate false diagnoses and diseases processes to poor and ignorant patients, these one too said gait abnormality, hemiplegia and spasticity are not diseases, then what are they? Good health? He has not even checked what a disease is or care to know what Physical Therapy is all about. May be he's been fed too that all PT's do is just to carry hand and leg or PM. Laughs... pls remain in ur house , keep the strike alive while patient patronise our private hospital.. all dsame, all na win win for doctors. |

Amarabae: Nursing is a different field from medicine, When I or any nurse say that we know things in medicine except surgery does not mean that we know more than doctors but rather we are not novice in medical issues. Knowledge comes not only by degree but by working experience too and by advancing in post graduate studies. The problem is that you understand things literally and not logically. What will make a graduate nurse or even a sound school of nursing nurse not to be able to treat her relative who is convulsing? So if a child is convulsing and rushed to the a primary health care center where there are scarcity of doctors, the nurse on duty can't do anything? What exactly do you think Nursing Science is? I can see that you are dowing down the route of arrogance, Are you aware that there are fellow colleagues who are in private practice managing patients? Or you just want to comment. The Lord resist the proud and uplift the humble, Learn humbleness today. . . Next time you want to quote me, please package your comment in a matured non insulting way, Then I will reply. Or don't bother mentioning. Thanks. insult kwa, u started it by shouting malaria and typhoid doctor, since then naim my mind drifted odd for u, even after a successful brainy surgery. not even an atom of kudos and encouragement. that's y I doubted ure a trained nurse I don't need to tell u the knowledge input those doctors carried to do that since u said u know medical facts. kk, wen u said u know what a doctor know , u never made it clear ure just being sarcastic and logical, this is a public forum where u can be misinterpreted probably with respect to ur old post . nawa o, I taught u really meant u know like a doctor aside surgery, coz even a claimed pharmD won't say that again wen I gave him simple clinical cases aside surgery, if u want screen shot of our discussion , I won't mind.. nevertheless.. u self don't insult doctors again, nobody will insult u.. if they make mistake, don't take it personal, if u most correct , be polite, except out of negligence.. they are human and not God/robot..just that it can b costly but let's be logical too, more likely a fresh graduate make cheap mistake... oya na, #shallom |

Yonce: But why are you guys always always bringing up doctors' salary scale to compare
They keep saying a starting doctor earns so much than a nurse who's been in the system for years. You cannot compare a starting doctor to a nurse who has worked for 10years. . . .he still knows more about treatment than the nurse and at the same time knows less than a fellow doctor who's be practicing for 10 years.
A young doctor shouldn't be compared to an old nurse. There's no basis for comparing their duties hence salary scale shouldn't be compared. o ? walahi this issue of young doctor and old nurse is arching and look stupid to me, will auxi nurse amarabae allow a 30yrs experienced nurse perform CS for her or rather a 4 yrs experienced doctor I think they wana make experience supercede knowledge here. then to them, a 50yrs matron should be knowledge than 10yrs doctor, talking as if experience automatically diffuse knowledge.. for Goodness, the secret and theory of human still get filled up in a doctors brain.. nawa o.. hope johesu are not mistaken the word of experience is the best teacher with valid knowledge here.. I feel experience only make the old nurse good to go practically in practice..she won't take time to take blood pressure , take BMI and dress wound, that doesn't install medical knowledge and theories into her damn brain why compare her with a young doctor who carried all the stuff in his head.. if atall, compensation is deemed fit for humanity sake, them it should be outlined specifically.. no hate. we pay for service delivery biko, that old nurse will still call on the young graduate Doctor if her relative convulse na. . |
