People are extremely wicked! Why? How can you just decide to extinguish another man's life for simply stealing a necklace. Why? How barbaric can one be? It does not matter when this video was made-many have died from jungle justice like this. People should learn to let the courts handle criminals. We are only but animals if this keeps going on. 5 Likes |
Health / Re: Advice Needed For Hbp,nerves Pain & Internal Heat Patient by Danmasani(m): 10:51pm On Sep 24, 2012 |
Billyonaire: High BP, goes hand in hand with insomnia. Your mum is dehydrated, make sure there is a concerted effort to get her hydrated. The adult human body requires average of 3.7 litres per day. Make sure she meets that requirement. Then follow doctors prescription. If not, she might experience serious heat from the spine, sleeplessness etc that's the precursor to a more dangerous stage. Wow. Interesting mix of jargon here. Are you are medical doctor? Because if you are, you have failed woefully! Hypertension(high BP) goes with dehydration? Rehydration reduces "heat from the spine"- what is heat from the spine? |
Politics / Re: Atiku "Selected" As Northern Consensus Candidate by Danmasani(m): 12:20am On Nov 23, 2010 |
Funny how we keep selecting scrupulous elements for leadership. Atiku Abubakar is alleged to be involved in corruption deals in the United States that landed a Louisiana congressman in jail and that was not a minus in this process? I am from the North, honestly believe that the North has no claim whatsoever to some agreement to rule Nigeria as she has produced criminals that crippled it to her knees and still pull heavy strings today. I see people brazenly supporting Atiku, IBB et al. I ask? What governing policy has been put forth by these people? what concrete plan and blueprint do they have to end at least the rampant power problem that has crippled a lot of the socioeconomic infrastructure in the country? What agenda do they have for fighting corruption? How can they be effective advocates for fighting corruption if they have unanswered allegations of fraud and illegitimate wealth hanging over their heads? Heck, can they account for how they got their wealth? The Nigerian offices they each held surely cannot account for their fortune! I'm sorry but come election 2011, the only candidate from the North worthy of seeking office is Nuhu Ribadu. Sad to see he has been relegated to the corner and has no chance of penetrating the carcass of idiots |
Politics / Re: Yar'adua Returns To Nigeria: Condition Unknown by Danmasani(m): 5:57pm On Feb 24, 2010 |
MsTom: MsTom I really get riled up when things are blown up and taken out of proportion. We Nigerians need to become rational in our judgement. You say Northerners are hook, line and sinker in seeing Yar'adua return, even though he is incapacitated at the moment. I now ask, what North are you referring to? The North that has molded and represented distinguished people such as Ahmadu Bello,Murtala Muhammed, Aminu Kano,Shehu Sani, Helon Habila, Nuhu Ribadu, M.I, Ladi Kwali among others or the one that churned despots and miscreants such as Abacha, Babangida, Buhari, Turai, Abdulahi Adamu, Joshua Dariye ad nauseum. My point is that you cannot paint Northern Nigeria with a single brush. It is not monolithic, extremely diverse in culture, religion and attitudes from the Benue to Sokoto and will never stand by an sick man ruling Nigeria. Secondly, Mstom and Fhemmmy attest that talk is cheap. I agree. But they failed to understand that what i mean by Nigerians taking a stand is through constant protest and civil disobedience at home and abroad to put pressure on the cabal that strangles Nigeria. I have participated in such numerous times- what have you done? It is simply time to amp it up. I agree that alot of Nigerians care about themselves, but for how long will that continue. How far can we be pushed and beaten like donkeys? Mandela, Gandhi and Martin Luther King are clear examples that progress can be achieved in a civil way. We can keep suffering while business as usual continue or we can choose to stand up and say no more! |

Look, If there is anytime where Nigerians need to stand firm and say NO, it is now. Nigerians everywhere, home and abroad need to gear up and let their voices be heard against injustice! Yar'adua is still a sick man. Arriving in the dead of night, amidst tight security and conveyed in an ambulance attest to the fact that he is still incapable to guide 150 million people and resources. It is rather shameful and nauseating that ploys like this should happen. Jonathan must remain VP till Yar'adua can appear before the Nigerian people, waving a clean bill of health certifying that he can run the nation till 2011, a task I must say is almost impossible now! What angers me is that some people portray this fracas as a North-South thing. It is not. This is essentially a cabal of a few vested interest determined to rule and exert forceful power on Nigeria via nook or crook. It does not augur well for Nigerians to believe that majority of Northerners support Yar'adua simply because he's from the North. This is about competence. The North has grown more stagnant and retrogressed with Yar'adua at the helm of affairs. Sectarian violence, poverty, crime continue to be the bane of the day. It is only logical for every Nigerian to recognize that Yar'adua has failed, is currently incapacitated and unable to call the shots in Nigeria. I fear for my country's stability! |
Politics / Re: Our Mission To Saudi Is To Thank The King – Ojo Maduekwe by Danmasani(m): 6:08pm On Feb 23, 2010 |
mikeansy: Mr Mikeansy, stick to one argument! First you said that Ojo Madueke has not done anything legally wrong, I tend to agree. But his current undertaking is competently wrong. His judgement, together with other members of the Federal Executive Council to embark on a chest thumping 'Thank you' visit to the Saudi king is uncalled for. Nigeria could use those resources to other means. I bet we're going to end up paying the medical bills anyway! Secondly, you insinuate that the trip is necessary to see if Yar'adua is alive. Well Ojo Madueke himself answered your question. He is not going there to see President Yar'adua but to "thank" the Saudi King for 'his hospitality". That's a good gesture, albeit one that would be better served by simply writing a letter. Nigeria needs to move on. She has a new President. These people should stop all the grandstanding and work for once. Elections are due next year where Nigerians will, in the absence of electoral reform and a competent INEC witness another @rgy of enormous rigging and political charade. Niger-Delta is still boiling, power cuts incessant and instability wreaking havoc in Northern states. More Akunyili's and Less Madueke's will be the way forward! |
Politics / Re: Our Mission To Saudi Is To Thank The King – Ojo Maduekwe by Danmasani(m): 5:09pm On Feb 23, 2010 |
Ojo Madueke needs to go! His antics are sheer buffoonery! I mean this is totally stupid. Why spend so much public funds visiting the king of S.Arabia when a simple thank you letter will have done a great job. Is the Nigerian government not footing the bill for Yar'adua medical needs? Nigerians missions abroad continually cry for adequate funding, the Nigeria consulate in New York for instance owns thousands of dollars in parking tickets- Ojo Madueke should utilize his brain for once and do something tenable. But alas, this is the same Ojo Madueke of the infamous Abacha million-man march! God help us if strange-bedfellows like him continually call the shots! |

@ sunnybobo and Edoyad. I am neither Hausa or a moslem. But even if i was, so what? Does that stop me from rational thinking? I've clearly stated I have no qualms with anyone seeking power in any part of Nigeria provided you have assimilated and understand the community there. I would be happy to see an Igbo man become governor in Sokoto or an Edo man rule Oyo state. It is what Nationwood should be, Almost all governors in Nigeria are incompetent, however Jonah Jang is grossly incapable of governance. Resignation is the right thing to do! Btw hasn't religion done its worst in Nigeria. When are people going to wake up and discover that zealotry on both ends just leads to more bigots around! God help us, |
Politics / Re: Pictures From Jos Crises by Danmasani(m): 6:03am On Jan 21, 2010 |
Born and bred in Jos, I can say that dirty politics, bigotry, nepotism and corruption masked under religion is the main issue here. Illiteracy and immense ignorance is also at play. I grew up in a section of Jos surrounded by xtian and moslem families. I played soccer, built mud houses and had a blissful childhood surrounded by hausa, birom, yoruba peeps. My mom woke me yesterday telling me the tranquility that existed in my neighborhood fell. Houses belonging to moslems in the area were burnt! For what I mean we grew up all together for God's sake! I pray for Jos. She has lost peace since 2001. Criminal elements and bad governance has been her bane since then. Jonah Jang, being the incompetent hack that he is will not resign and handover to someone who can give people some sense of security. Honour and accountability has gone to the dustbin! People in Jos have to understand one thing, you cannot keep calling someone who was born and bred in Jos or whose great-grandfather moved to Jos a century ago a "non-indigene' or 'settler'. It makes no sense. It is ridiculous to deprive or delegitimize a hausa or yoruba man from holding or seeking political office in Jos or anywhere because of ethnicity or religion. I know this is not popular but it is the way forward. The whole idea of 'indigeneship' does not take us anywhere. Hilary Clinton was born and bred in Chicago, married in Arkansas and became a senator for NewYork!!! That is the idea we should emulate! People ought to respect themselves.Human life should mean something. Houses razed and property destroyed within minutes took years of toil and sweat to build. Religious and ethnic bigotry does not take us anywhere. Jonah Jang- resign if you cannot be an effective governor or at least bring someone to book for the latest crisis! Examples have to be made of those who incite violence. Show some leadership for once Sir! |

Politics / Re: Jos Killings How Do We Stop This Madness? by Danmasani(m): 3:18pm On Nov 30, 2008 |
I grew up for 19years of my life in Jos. I can tell you that the riots in Jos was inflamed by politics and has spread to reliigious/ethnic lines. I support Josboy4life assertion. PDP is the root of all this. How can you say that PDP won all 17LGA elections including Jos North which is predominantly Muslim and constantly votes ANPP. Rumors have been flying around left. right and center further exacerbating the crisis, just like the last one in 2001. I have gotten varying information from family and friends that you dont even know what to believe anymore. The authorities are not even helping matters, both the Christian Association of Nigeria, the Catholic Archbishop of Jos and Muslim clerics have released statements urging caution and at the same time pointing fingers. Even Plateau INEC officials have not helped matters declaring all the polls free and fair. I think we need to be careful at times like this, my home which is currently 50:50 muslims and xtians is unsteady at the moment. We all grew up together all these years, it will be very unforgivable if we were to kill each other due to some political process. |

Honestly, to those who support groups such as Asari Dokubo's Mend or other freedom fighters, I have one question for you guys? This so-called militancy in the Niger-Delta? What gains have they made for the people there? Are Niger-deltans better today than before? The oil bunkering, ransom-taking, pipeline siphoning thieves that you identify as "militants"-- what exactly have they contributed so far to the plight of the Niger-Delta. I think these questions remain to be answered! |

Politics / Re: To Hell With Your Oil, North Tells South by Danmasani(m): 4:54pm On Aug 03, 2008 |
The North is parasitic on South-south's oil. So also is the south west and the southeast. 95% of Nigeria's annual revenue comes from oil. So any finger pointing here is hypocrisy at its highest level. We have been hearing similar talk like this from Northern governors for a long time. Actions speaks louder than words. It remains only words till we see concrete steps taken to revive the textile industries in Kaduna, Zaria and Kano, enhance the agricultural sector from Benue to Borno and make concrete steps to open numerous. Production and manufacturing units that will help the poor man. Northern Nigeria has numerous potentials like other parts of the nation--- we are not lazy. investment and opportunities are the key word here. Rather oil has blinded the elite who swim in it and forget their constituents every now and then. someone argued that oil has been a benefit of only the elite- that i believe is the true word here. With regards arguments that describe northerners as "gworro" choppers, "gate man", "cattle rearers' among others- I won't match words with you! This is not a bleating contest for goats. It is a human debate |

Politics / Re: North Not A Parasite - Govs by Danmasani(m): 4:24pm On Aug 02, 2008 |
So much talk here about "unambitious northern youth", 'parasites", "fura de nunu(sic)", "wild polio export"among others. "North can survive without Oil" by "moving to agriculture and manufacturing". http://www.guardiannewsngr.com/editorial_opinion/article02//indexn2_html?pdate=010808&ptitle=Northern%20governors%20and%20the%20politics%20of%20oil We've heard calls like that from the so-called Northern elders and leaders since 1960. Arewa Consultative forum, Northern Elders Forum and the numerous other self-appointed sycophants that say the speak for northerners will come to pass soon.Actions speak louder than words. So far not one has put any on the ground. Judgment will surely be passed someday Parasitic on Nigerian Oil, Yes. Very much! The only parasites? I doubt that. Last I checked, the Niger Delta contributed 95% of Nigeria's revenue- wonder how much the southwest and southeast contributed to the Nigerian project to be finger-pointing, I am called a "cattle rearer" even here in America by my Nigerian friends. A joke? Yes, but surely gives credence to a widely acceptance by southern nigeria that the North is an infested, disease-stricken, poor place where the guys only care about "cattle", "fura de nunu" and "tuwon masara". Did I forget that someone also pointed out that Northern youth must be in some kind of doldrum by not having ambitious people around them- as if ambition is some kind of geo-spatial attribute bestowed to people closer to the equator and depreciates the more you move away from it The North has deep flaws- no doubt. But to bundle everyone Northerner- Hausa, Fulani, Tiv, Birom, Idoma, Tangale etc as a cattle rearer, backward, unenterprising, dumb, uneducated, "nunu sellers" among others speaks how far we have all come together as a nation! In Nigeria, the world called unity is still a long process! |

Politics / Re: California's Top Court Legalizes Gay Marriage by Danmasani(m): 2:05pm On May 26, 2008 |
I think the world has still not woken up to the fact that a slow wind is blowing, starting vigorously from the western world. Homosexuality has gone from being an abominable act banished by the state to be defined as a "deviant" behavior with psycho- analysis of it to the present day acceptance of gay rights and gay communities. I drive very often across Boylestown in Chicago with friends and we all can stand the "crazy" behavior manifested in that gay neighborhood- that however does not brush off the fact that these men and women are people like everyone- they deserve the same rights and freedom as everyone. I think gays should be allowed to marry, adopt, do whatever it is they do or want to do provided it does not infringe on the rights of others. I think the gay issue will over time become a normal fabric of society. 100 years ago, some men were more equal than others, a woman had no say and issues such as heresy, adultery, fornication etc were all not accepted. Now look at where we have come a 100 years later- a black man and a woman are aspiring to be president, abortion is legal and people can worship or believe on whatever the hell they want to. Gays are here to stay, I think what society should do at the moment is not what we must do to contain them, but what must be done to accept them. Finally, anyone who says that Africa or Africans will never accept gays or gay relationships is simply ignoring history and time and pandering to sentiments. Gays are in Africa, will come out and will become a fabric of it -----with time! |

On the other hand, a question that puzzles us Nigerians is how you black americans, upon being a MINORITY manage to have the HIGHEST HIV/AIDS rate. So the question you asked just displays once again your ignorance and lack of common sense. 8. Why should we demand reparation for colonialism? They did a bad thing, we made them stop. We've moved on. We are not like you who use every opportunity to decry the injustice that the white man has wreaked upon you. Yes, even when you're sitting at home eating a bowl of cereal, you will still find a way to say that the white man that made the cereal was being racist by not dyeing the marshmallows in your Lucky Charms black. . 10. Particularly to ELiza: Nigerian girls are PROUD. We don't beg. If a Nigerian girl has nothing and expects her boyfriends or men to give her money it is because Nigerian men shoulder their responsibility squarely and provide for their women no matter what, unlike a lot of lazy, uneducated black americans that mooch off their women. A Nigerian man's pride will never allow him, and we have come to expect a certain standard from our men. The poor girls must have been awfully disappointed with what they found to date. nuzo: I abhor violence by all means and I am ashamed and appalled each time fanatics in the North or South turn violent due to ethno-centric or religious reasons. I am by all means a realist, not matter what we do as liberal and progressive minds, there will always be people who will indulge in nepotism, racism and tribalism- thats is a fact and it is those same subjects that cause havoc every now and then. The Ibo genocide in the North in 1966 that culminated into the Civil war was by all means wrong. Nzeogwu sellfish actions do not by all means justify the pogrom-but that is the past- We must all move on as a one nation. When Kaduna Nzeogwu went around with military officers of Ibo origin slaugthering Balewa, Akintola, Ahmadu Bello, Okotie-Eboh et al sparing Azikwe and Michael Okpara: what did you expect? Of course, It was an Ibo coup against all other Nigerian sections! T Y Danjuma with his bunch of miscreants responded albeit stupidly to the dog eat dog phenomenon then. See all this is past! History. TY Danjuma, Obasanjo and all other actors in that shameless period of our history should rot in hell. Unfortunately they still have their grip of the Nigerian Project, re-awakening past bloodsheds and injustices they meted on each other which brought the Nigerian nation to her kness. Nigerians I think deserve leaders who will change their fortunes. The old league has failed us misreably, It is time they leave the pages of our newspapers and political scene.
