Nobody even mentioned the fact that these Igbo guys are APC and they probably supported Tinubu and Sanwo-Olu and are actually not Obidents.

Nairaland has poor political commentary on both sides.

The main criticism so far seems to be that the Igbo candidates didnt help improve APC performance hence it was pointless appointing them.

United States relied on forced conscripts and they won WW1& WW2, only during Vietnam was that conscripts a problem and that's because Vietnam didn't threaten USA directly the way Japan did in WW2 and Germany did in WW1.

The Soviets famously gave orders to shoot soldiers who ran away, and this led to the victory of Stalingrad.

The Roman empire fell because of a lack of forced conscription, Romans didn't want to join the army but instead relied on other Nationalities to defend them, and soon those nationalities decided it would be more profitable to just attack Romans.

You cannot coerce loyalty but you can avoid disloyalty i.e death penalty for deserters

I would say APC values effectiveness, their goal is build Nigeria from the ground up into a strong industrial powerhouse, no matter what it cost.

PDP was more concerned with Federal character above everything else even growth and effectiveness, this approach helped to prevent a military return to power but couldn't achieve much else and might have even encouraged more crisis;

Obasanjo was appointed because of MKO crisis

Goodluck was appointed because of Delta Militant crisis

This then prompted Northerners to begin funding a Boko Haram crisis hoping to put their own people next, it also encouraged the IPOB crisis with the same motive.

PDP Federal character ideology ended up backfiring and would ultimately end up destroying it.

During Vietnam war there was multiple cases of 'fragging'.

Foot soldiers have the highest casualty and disposability rate so if the foot soldiers feel disconnected or alienated with their officers then the officers get fragged.

In this case the officers are from a tribe that is very unpatriotic which means the foot soldiers would sooner or later begin to wonder why they are risking their lives for a man whose own people cannot risk their lives for him.

Just in case Obi wins tomorrow is it Hausa, Yoruba or Middle belt soldiers that would be in the brigade of guards providing that first circle of security operatives. Obi and any Igbo should encourage their kinsmen to join the army so that once they become Commander in chief they have a bulwark of loyal soldiers who would give the president a safety net against any would be coupist or renegade.

He is an Itsekiri man, Peter Obi is an Igbo man, Nigeria ethnic-tribal-majority politics doesnt favour him.

That aside, he is a far better politician than Peter Obi, at least he has record of fighting for something and he isnt running from one party to another as a true political opportunist would do instead he has stayed firmly in his minor party.
