You must be a toddler to put up this trash.. a minority candidate that was kicked out of Office will defeat a majority Yoruba President?.. for wetin na?.
Jonathan was a former president, he will carry a strong sense of nostalgia for the good old days, which is what got Buhari elected.

Jonathan's only problem was Boko Haram, aside from that, he was fairly chill he even congratulated Buhari and accepted his defeat something a whole USA president couldnt do.

You also have to consider how PDP members like Atiku worked against him, now Atiku is tasting his own medicine.

Jonathan could also win South South, Middle Belt and perhaps North Central.

Jonathan is not a weak candidate.
PoliticsThe Only Candidate That Stand A Chance In Defeating Asiwaju by danvon(op): 8:23pm On Apr 28, 2025
Goodluck Jonathan

First, Jonathan didn't rule a second term, this could be marketed as his second term, plus Jonathan has proven he is not overly ambitious, he will stop after 2027 and handover to the North.

Jonathan was the first president to abolish fuel subsidy that Tinubu himself would later imitate.

Even Reno Omokri was picked as an aide by Jonathan, i doubt Reno would not support him.

Any coalition that doesn't involve Jonathan will fail drastically.

Chinese are hardly stereotyped, not because of their skin color, but because they behave well when they go elsewhere,

But you see blacks and muslim* arabs,

We all agree that politicians are selfish and ambitious, but those who defect are even more selfish and ambitious than the average politician (which is not necessarily a bad thing)...

Peter Obi defected to PDP because they promised him Vice President, then defected to LP because they promised him President...

But in APC, you have big wigs like Ifeanyi Okowa joining the party, you have Kwankwaso planning to join, what would APC offer them that would satisfy them and at the same time not offend the long time loyal members?

I think APC should have promoted more opposition neutrality rather than defections.

We are still seeing Valentine madness in Anambra

PoliticsRe: APC Has No Opposition In 2027. by danvon(m): 9:30am On Apr 24, 2025
Mrchippychappy:
Except the people.

Most people don't realise that the fastest way to lose power is by gaining ultimate and unopposed power. The idea of having an opposition party presents the people with a glimmer of hope, that way the people would have options or at least think that they have options.

However when the ruling party completely shallows up the opposition party then the people would become the opposition. In the case of having an opposition party, the ruling party can take them to court and label them as being anti-government, you can't take the people to court. When the people become the opposition then you have a nameless, faceless and bannerless organisation.

There is a reason why most countries like the US, UK etc have a two party system. It gives the people an option (in most cases, the option is actually controlled by the puppet masters"wink. The only way a country can maintain stability without having an opposition is if that country isn't democratic, could that be on the cards for the Nigerian government?

Learn from what happened to Assad, Gaddafi, Saddam, Mubarak. A one party system in a country might seem good on paper but when you limit the people's options to only one party, THEN the people would see themselves as the opposition to the ruling party and then you have an US (The people) vs THEM (The one party ruling the nation) and when that happens, expect a total collapse.
China and Singapore are one party states and they seem to be stable, when a country has one party they can concentrate on policy and industry instead of spending resources on defeating their political opponents.
PoliticsRe: Wike Is Like A Bulldozer That PDP Must Manage Or Find A Way To Avoid - Fayose by danvon(m): 6:10am On Apr 19, 2025
Q: Who is the most dangerous party member?

A: The most dangerous party member is that member whose single defection can lead to the death of the party, in short 'the best party member'.

The fact that Wike can give PDP such headache is proof of his value to PDP.

Ken Saro Wiwa incited a mob that led to the death of several elders, he also had a God complex. Him being killed doesnt make him a hero.

There's a saying that 'people do not fight when they are starving, people fight when they have eaten well, they have tasted a forbidden luxury and now they are hungry for more'.

I think there is some truth to this...

We have North Korea, lots of underfed people but yet North Koreans aren't protesting against the Kim dynasty, but in the more developed South Korea there was an attempted coup...

China, a country with poor labour rights is peaceful and an advanced economy while France a country with one of the best labour laws nearly erupted last year.

Haiti never protested under the reign of Duvalier (Papa Doc).

Here in Nigeria we have Northerners who are mostly illiterates, majority are cobblers, tailors, farmers, and some herdsmen yet you rarely Northerners complain about the state of the Nation the way some tribes do.

Let us look some of the most profound political trouble makers that have plagued Nigeria

1) Ojukwu (billionaire son)
2) Ken Saro Wiwa (famous actor)
3) MKO Abiola (billionaire)
4) Tompolo (Prince)
5) Nnamdi Kanu (Prince/British citizen)
6) Simon Ekpa (Prince/Lawyer/Finnish citizen)

None of these trouble makers were poor struggling people, they had very little in common with the average Nigerian. Maybe there is nothing wrong with Nigeria, maybe some people are just spoiled and entitled, they have tasted good food, now they want good food all the time.
