Ehailing might have its disadvantages but comparing 200k job to ehailing is a big slap on ehailing....

Hmmn dey play...the FREEDOM you have for how many years now, what have you achieved with it sir? Why freedom is good, you must show result, atleast quarterly...After driving for like 8 hours, what else would you use the freedom for, if not to sleep and REST!
U S president BIDEN was trending riding a bicycle at about 80 years old or thereabout days ago...I read a doctor's comment and he said " being able to do these at that age LARGELY DEPEND on how you used yourself NOW! How conscious are you about your health NOW! Nothing comes easy no doubt, but driving for too long, for many years is not a joke! More like the man that did 5k insurance,mocking those that did comprehensive as waste of money! Tell him to WAIT for that HIT!

Hmmmmmm, well me will still prefer steady salary and be managing my resources small small than running around like headless chicken or moving traffic sorry moving Lagos up and down.

I am not saying the job isn't good ooo, but when we compare the majority of drivers with most people earning even the 200k as salary the difference is clear.
I am telling that majority of those people earning 200k live better life than 90% of ehailing drivers, with 200k salary you a very big boy when compared to 90% of ehailing drivers.
Let me not go into details

If 200k salary is offered to all ehailing drivers today, 99.9% will QUIT! I have been on both SIDE...The type of energy expended..No driver on rental or HP will stay, anyone that will stay would probably owned his car and have other sources of income....Do you see how driver looks or appear physically, when you order a ride, they appear drained, tired, sorrowful!! Anytime I open my app, a driver is looking for bat3 to jumpstart, another one needs wheel spanner. Even my bro that owned few cars on the platform, always looks tired and drained...I spoke to him recently to take things easy and he said for him it's not about just driving alone but do you know the amount of energy he uses to PURSUE his driver for delivery, one wahala after another. Don't let anyone drive you to your death!!!

I drove round to some part of Lagos today...It seems the road is generally free, understandably so. ..If you, as a driver thinks you're making 5k in an hour now, I think you should just wait and let things settle down b4 you celebrate...All the people who are not driving now will eventually hit the road and the usually traffic begins....All in all, it is not looking good for everyone..Whatever increment the app guys will add can't be more than 35%.Bolt already did a coded email to drivers...The only winner in this na the ehailing coy.

There are a lot of issues drivers battle with. Some of them out of desperation took unreasonable HP and rental offers. They have to work round the clock to meet up.

The problem with this is, the car may not be able to withstand the kind of stress they subject it to. Week after week it's one problem or the other.

Those who drive their own cars obviously will fare better. I personally don't think e-hailing is as bad as is sometimes being portrayed. I believe those who drive their own cars can live decently on earnings from it.(earnings before the recent price increase)[/quote]

Did someone not just say up there that he opened ride and indrive and the prices are still more or less the same with just a slightly increase?

So if the price you paid doubled perhaps becsuse of scarcity and demand. Is that a regular occurence? What will happen when all filing stations start selling. Will indrive still be able to charge double when there's less demand?

Why not just wait for the scarcity to be over? You will know the kind of analysis I'm doing.

The app company would not have any choice than to RESPOND to the price increase by INCREASING their fare price..That is the only way out...There is no way ANY DRIVER can cope with this fuel increase if the app guys continue to maintain the current price..To fill up Corolla now will be like 24k...
The reason, I think why some of the app has not increased their fare is because perhaps they are only seeing or dealing with scarcity. Now it's confirmed, the cheapest fuel you will get is 488 per litre, and it's only NNPC that will sell at that price.Others will probably be more...BRACE UP! The optics is not looking good..
Moreso, riders will decrease significantly. How many rider can take a ride of 7k to work and 14k to and fro, every day! I know many riders that takes Uber only on Monday and maybe Tuesday and the rest na public transport.Now am not sure they will be able to do that anymore...App needs to step up their game, create a system where you can MERGE two riders going towards same route and they both get a 50% discount...Some of the riders I picked regularly to island in the morning have started calling to arrange for daily pick up, offering 5k...Some of them would look for a friend, a neighbour to join and share the trip fare. We must survive somehow.

There are mouth watering HP/Rental deal out there.I gave a banker Corolla for 15k two years ago..o boy, there are people with slush fund and they probably don't even know wt to do with it. .Here in my office, guys ask me everyday what kinda of biz they can do to get residual income..They are salary earner, most of them have 2 to 4 million somewhere that they are not using, they want something that can give them REGULAR income, even if it's small, just make it REGULAR and I think that is my brothers STRENGTH. Imagine, driving someone's car for TWO years without a SINGLE default in payment! That is the albatross of most driver,inability to pay as at when due and that is his own strength! When I bought my second Corolla, it was from a slush fund and I have a decent income. I only needed someone that can give me 15 to 20k every Weekend to take care of house bills(food, dstv, phcn, refuse bill, groceries etc), the guy paid for like 6 month or so then story started...My plan was not to make huge fund from it, just pay bills..There are alot of folks that needs that and this young man target them.. Work diligently and as hard as possible(it's ok if you think that is slavery) remit, owned and MOVE on!
The truth is, there are diff ways to bait a cat!

Ehailing came on board in Nigeria in 2015 and gained ground in 2016. That was when people like cheerfulgiver and Pearl1910 started driving.

Myself as an example, recently I've been looking out for rental deal, I almost contacted Ghost1994 for his Nissan, but location made me not to.

What is my reason for looking at renting again? I want to drop my current car with my wife to use for running around, we have a baby and I'm not comfortable with her going out in public transport with the baby, so we've been ordering rides and omo, our riders they try. Last week, I spent about 21k on ride from Sangotedo to Ikorodu and back.

So if you see me renting tomorrow, one might think probably something is wrong.

As far as I know, cheerful is just start a family too, who knows? He might have dropped the corolla with his wife....

Well, a couple of years ago on this same platform I shared my younger brothers model. He ventured into ehailing immediately after sch..Again, I'll repeat it, he TAKES car on HIRE PURCHASE or at worst rental. Complete payment, owned the car, give it out on rental and go ahead to take ANOTHER car..As at today, he has 4 cars today and he's still on hire purchase as at today..His model works perfectly for him...In any business, YOU MUST LOOK INTENTLY and draw out a model to HELP you survive. So why others are shouting it's not a good biz, na only feeding money you go see, maintenance is too high. You will continue to CASH OUT in THE SAME biz..You just need a little 'higher wisdom'..Use your head! Congratulations to cheerful if indeed he's the one.

Bros, been a while I check in here. Pls be careful about eggs being sold in traffic.. Especially those ones at iyana oworo. Those eggs are being boiled with detergent...Few years ago, it used to be my everyday 'snack' because egg is a complete meal, until one day i did not drive and a friend dropped me at iyana oworo bus stop coming frm island at about 10pm. I saw this lady pouring omo detergent in a big pot on fire, then putting the eggs. Out of curiosity I approached her and she said it's makes it easier to PEEL...You know all this egg that you peel all at once, yea that is the goal..Similar to those aboki at oyingbo using sniper to preserve their stock fish. That one was trending on Twitter like three years ago .Let's be careful with what we eat pls.

It's so expensive because of the location and it's taking about 55% of my annual salary, am basically working for him, so heavy on me and am making huge sacrifice and I ALREADY have it in mind that if he started working and he made the refund, fine and well and if he doesn't, well and good.
There is something they call FAMILY , comes with a lot of sacrifice and if you are the ELDER one, that also comes with even bigger SACRIFICE.

So like I said before Sonnie is right. But for certain people, he is wrong because they operate outside the enterprise deal circle (B2B). They deal in the B2C market in which different rules may apply.

FG, state governments and even companies do not as a rule pay in advance of signing the contract.

Until the dotted line is signed, you are spending your own money!

As a matter of fact, some have started sending a letter with the words: " Non-Obligatory Proof of Concept/Demonstration" when they invite you to come for the discussion.

These stories remind me of a guy who flew in state of the art Ricoh machines to NNPC to demonstrate and then NNPC did not end up buying.

This guy was literally in tears and reached out to me to help him sell them.

If you do enterprise deals, you will understand that even the decision to buy can take months or years, but then at the end, the deal is usually a very big one, so his ask was an impossible to fulfil one.

You and Erico submission fully captured my thought..This issue has been discussed here more than twice .. I have worked as an asst Facility mgr with a monthly budget of #60M and no one would approved a Kobo for anyone, whether you're Julius berger or baba lati to come and check a job and get paid transport...it's a form of 419 if you present such. 99% of guys here does B2C. But, from my pocket, I do give tips to workmen when I call them for an emergency work or sometime to quickly check and submit a quote and that is because getting those things done affect my KPI..The truth is, it's an individual thing. Not a rule of thumb..But the biz guys here should calm down, you are the one that wants to get a job and earned , you are the one that needs to be humble...those of us bringing the job here will also be humble when we get to where we make that money we bring here..Abi nau, I go humble for my oga for 30 days collect salary, I go come humble for you too because I want to pay you to to supply wood or paint, no nau, you sef reason am.I can give someone else...imagine if everyone gives someone else and not you, na you go humble last .. Well, I thinks it's a faceless forum tho, most of you don't act like this in REAL LIFE, atleast the ones have met

that was not a problem as i understand the need for the review, my only concern is why is it taking this long, i have done a lot of designs for client here, just
sometime ago a client chatted me asking for the roof sqm of the building i designed she has gotten to that stage to buy roofing sheets, i provided it without asking for extra money that was weeks after design has been done, she even sent me the pictures of the building.
I also designed a building for client from NL, at final stage he said i will show it to my wife then i will get back to you, and this is even after i submitted his complete drawings and he paid full.

For the record let it be known to all, that the client has not paid the balance up till now.

What if the builder is yet to give him the necessary feedback needed to effect your payment ...Pls be patience , you have done well from the beginning ,plss try to end it well ..its a service that you have provided , not a product,hence the need to be patience pls..We all need alot of TACT when dealing with client especially online client..Don't forget REFERRALS
