More ignorant and stupid generalising. When last did you hear of churches being attacked in Iran? Do you realise mosques are attacked in America?

The attacks on mosques in the US is a response to similar actions in the Middle East, which the Quran allows. That is the Golden Rule, which says, 'Do unto others how you want them to do to you' (Aheb li akheek ma tuhibu li nafsik)

In addition, you mentioned Pakistan and this link is an evidence. It happened in March 2016. http://edition.cnn.com/2016/03/27/asia/pakistan-lahore-deadly-blast/

More ignorant rubbish. In Pakistan, Iran, Syria, etc, there are churches in existence. It is only in US allied states like Saudi Arabia and UAE where christianity is outlawed. Make sense of that one if you can.

I hear you. Churches that are attacked on a regular basis with no form of protection from the government....Smh

First, why should the US allow Muslim refugees to come into their country when their fellow Muslim countries do not want them? That seems suspicious.

Secondly, those that are usually sponsored by UAE, Saudi Arabia and the other rich Islamic countries to ferment trouble are mostly from these 7 countries. In addition, most radical Islamic training camps are found in these countries and there has been no semblance of support from their governments to the US in stopping these radical elements.

Third, what is stopping the rich Islamic countries to assist the Muslim refugees and even commence immigration programmes for people (most especially Muslims) just like the countries in the West are doing? Is it a must to go to the US?

Please I applied for my US visa Renewal along with my wife and daughter, via the dropbox at the same time. The USA Embassy returned only the passports of my wife and daughter with US visas after 3 working days. Mine is yet to be returned. What could be the reason for keeping mine?

Thanks for your usual cooperation.

Please who are the members of the Management Team of 4T Technologies Limited? 4T Technologies Limited is the Power Management Representative of Lekki Gardens Estate Limited. When I visited their website, this is what I found when tried to view their Management Team.

Obviously, they have something up their sleeves. They do not want people (possibly subscribers) to know the Management Team. I just hope all is well.

I would like to know if 4T Technologies Limited has a relationship with Eko Electricity Distribution Company. The Management of Eko Electricity Distribution Company should please take note.

CAVEAT EMPTOR on VETASSESS - Internal Auditor Occupation (ANZSCO code 221214)!!!!

Please if you are a Nigerian Chartered Accountant, with Internal Audit experience, and with ICAN qualification ONLY, PLEASE DO NOT GO NEAR VETASSESS for skilled migrant assessment for the Internal Auditor Occupation. It will be a waste of money. ICAN is NOT recognised by VETASSESS and the resson for this is that ICAN is not recognised by the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) as an institution of academic education. Until then, please stay away from the Internal Auditor occupation/VETASSESS and save your forex.

With ACCA qualification, ensure you have some years of working experience (after the ACCA qualification is obtained) before applying to VETASSESS for the assessment for the Internal Auditor occupation. I repeat, (after the ACCA qualification is obtained).

The above-information is based on my personal experience with VETASSESS and enquiries made from Australian Immigration Advisors (former immigrants) with accountancy qualification.

I have also made enquiries at CPA (Australia), Institute of Charterted Accountants of Australia & New Zealand and Institute of Practising Accountants of Australia (IPAA) on whether they recognise ICAN qualification for skilled migration purposes. I am yet to receive any response from them. When I do, their responses will be posted here for guidance.

Please you are all free to provide any authentic information that is contrary to this, preferably based on personal experience.

Thank you

Bros, must DIBP get the exact documents assessing authority got? For example, when lodging for visa and u use another set of transcript and testimonial.

Please I have gotten my outcome and it was NEGATIVE. I was assessed for the job of Internal Auditor (ANZSCO 221214). I am a Chartered Accountant (ICAN) and my first degree was in Engineering. I worked in an audit firm as an audit trainee before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant. After I qualified, I moved to a bank as an Internal Auditor, of which I still working. I have, however, written back to VETASSESS to complain about the NEGATIVE outcome. However, what caught me my attention (the most) from the report is the statement below.

Membership Certificate completed in xxxx at The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, LAGOS, Nigeria cannot be recognised by VETASSESS as:
At the time of award the awarding institute and/or the qualification was not recognised by the relevant authorities in the country of award

Field of study Accountancy is highly relevant.

In addition, they claimed that my work experience in the Audit firm and the bank as an Internal Auditor

'does not meet the minimum requirements for this occupation as the employment does not follow a qualification at the required level in
a highly relevant field'.

My question is this - IS ICAN NOT RECOGNIZED BY VETASSESS? PLEASE WHAT IS THE BEST WAY FORWARD?

Thanks Solomonwis. Apologies for the tardiness in thanking you for such valuable information. Please I have another question. I just filled my Express Entry Profile on the CIC website and there was a question on whether I had a UCI or not, since I indicated that I had submitted a FSWP application previously. My FSWP application was submitted on 30/12/2014 and I am yet to receive a UCI. Will it be wise to say I have not submitted a previous application before? Foreign Affairs / Re: China Bans Muslim Officials From Observing Ramadan by DaRocha: 1:02pm On Jul 03, 2014
gbolakpine: According to source, Several government departments in China’s far western region of Xinjiang have banned Muslim staff from fasting during the month of Ramadan.

One department website said that civil servants cannot “take part in fasting and other religious activities”.

The move comes amid tightened security in the region which has been hit by a growing number of violent attacks.

Authorities blame separatist Muslim Uighurs, but Uighur leaders deny they are behind the attacks.

Activists have accused Beijing of exaggerating the threat from Uighur separatists to justify a crackdown on the Uighurs’ religious and cultural freedoms.

State-administered Bozhou Radio and TV University said on its website that the fasting ban applied to party members, teachers and young people.

“We remind everyone that they are not permitted to observe a Ramadan fast,” it said.
Similarly a weather bureau in western Xinjiang was reported by the AFP news agency to have said on its website that the ban was “in accordance with instructions from higher authorities”.

The BBC’s Martin Patience in Beijing says that this is not the first time that China has restricted fasting in Xinjiang.

But our correspondent says that with Beijing blaming extremist Uighurs for growing violence, the ban is likely to be seen by many Muslims as an attack on their religion, further increasing tensions.

Among those imposing a ban are a commercial affairs department and a government hospital which got Muslim staff to sign a written pledge that they would not fast.
State-run newspapers have in addition been running editorials warning about the health dangers of fasting.

Many Uighurs say that the suppression of their cultural and religious freedoms is fueling the unrest in the region and attacks elsewhere in China.

Last month 13 assailants were killed in an attack on a police station in the restive province.

Religion is a personal thing and I do not believe we have to let the whole world know that we are fasting at any time.
Politics / Re: Stella Oduah Lied About Her MBA Degree - Sahara Reporters by DaRocha: 10:21pm On Jan 07, 2014
rockbase360: Stella Oduah, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation who is embroiled in a scandal of towering proportions in the ministry, faces new integrity questions as her Masters’ degree has been challenged by the United States school which supposedly awarded it.

Her resume, which she presented to the Senate as a ministerial nominee in 2011, indicated she obtained a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from St. Paul’s College Lawrenceville, Virginia, United States.

But SaharaReporters has learned from the President of the college that it has never in its 125-year history had a graduate school or graduate program.

The Provost Vice President of Academic Affairs, and the Vice President of Institutional Development said in response to our inquiries, “We don’t offer any graduate programs here.”

Similarly, the school’s website states: “Saint Paul's College is accredited by the Commission of Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award baccalaureate [bachelor’s] degrees.” There is no mention of graduate degrees.

The Minister’s documentation shows she received an undergraduate degree in accounting from the college in 1982, but Dr. Claud Flythe, St. Paul’s current president, could neither confirm nor deny this during a phone conversation with SaharaReporters. Further verification with the Office of Alumni Affairs is also currently impossible, the school said, because the college has been closed since June 2013 to loss of its accreditation.

“[Oduah] realized very early in life the indispensability of a sound education in her growth plans in life and therefore pursued her education with all diligence and sense of purpose,” her documents claimed, adding that a determination “to have the best education at the highest level” prompted her stay at the Virginia college in 1983 for the MBA programme.

As her public relations machinery marched on, in December 2012 The Sun newspaper published an article headlined “Stella Oduah: An Amazon of transformation,” which lauded her “MBA from St Paul’s College, Lawrenceville Virginia USA.” The story also praised her for being an official who brought her “rich educational background to bear on the aviation sector by automating revenue centers in all the agencies and parastatals to boost their revenue profile and enhance transparency and accountability in the system.”

In October, SaharaReporters broke the story that Mrs. Oduah, a former campaign manager for President Goodluck Jonathan, purchased two bulletproof BMW cars worth $ 1.6 Million (N255m) through the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, for her own use.

Following an investigation, the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation dismissed the Minister’s pleas of innocence and all her rebuttals during her testimony. The committee’s report, which was subsequently adopted by the House, declared that no budgetary appropriation had been made for the purchase of the cars, and that the NCAA proposal for their purchase was rejected.

President Jonathan also set up a three-member administrative panel to investigate the matter, but he immediately travelled out of the country with Mrs. Oduah and Colonel Dasuki, the National Security Adviser who was to serve as a member of the panel. Not only did the panel submit its report much later than the two weeks it was given for the assignment, Mr. Jonathan has refused to release its report.

Mrs. Oduah’s new certificate questions are certain to feed into national concern about her credibility as an elected official, but also about Mr. Jonathan’s credibility, and about the nation’s security apparatus which verifies official documents offered to the Senate for official nominations.

If Mrs. Oduah deliberately deceived the Senate, it remains to be seen if the Upper House will be sufficiently motivated to take up the matter with the Executive.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s aviation industry continues to face a massive challenge, with struggling airports and airlines, as well as financial and administrative pitfalls that hinder expansion and development.

awodman: Press Release

Expanded Terminal opens at Lagos airport.

Passengers flying through the Murtala Muhammed
International Airport, Lagos to other parts of the
world were giving a pleasant Xmas surprise with
the opening of the new departure/screening points
of the terminal at about 6.00 am on Saturday,
December 21, 2013.

The extended Departure Hall feature 5 nos state –
of-the-art screening machines and 2 nos Body
Scanner at each of the wings in addition 30 nos
new immigration counters. A distinguishing feature
of the new screening machines is the ability to
detect explosive materials and potential threat
items real time with the lowest rate of false alarm.

The introduction of 30 nos new immigration
counters as against the previous 9 nos has taken
passenger facilitation to another level.

The extended Departure consists of 14 check-in
counters, seven hand-luggage X-ray machines and
eight walk-through body scanners at the E finger.

The facility is equipped with 11 toilet facilities for
both male and female passengers, as well as
disabled persons. The new extension comes with
commercial offerings. These duty free shops will
afford passengers the opportunity for last minute

Already, this has been easing the experience of

their luggage and personal effects. The new
conveyor systems can process the luggage of a
1,000 passengers per hour. Passenger processing is
now faster and the congestion has been eradicated
in line with the Aviation Road map initiated by the
Honourable Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella
Oduah.

The ongoing remodeling has led to an expansion of
about 25% as against the former operational area,
in expectation of the expected passenger growth.
The new facility is part of the strategy by the
President Jonathan Goodluck to make Murtala
Mohammed International Airport, the preferred
regional hub in the West African sub- region.

The Managing Director of FAAN, Mr George Uriesi,
who personally supervised the operation expressed
appreciation to Immigration, Customs and other
security organisations for their support.

Some aggrieved members of the Ojukwu family on Wednesday challenged Nigeria’s Ambassador to Spain, Bianca Ojukwu, to prove to the world that the late Ikemba Nnewi, Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu, was the biological father of her two sons – Afamefuna and Nwachukwu.

The family members, in a 19-paragraph statement of defence before a Lagos High Court sitting in Igbosere, also challenged Bianca to prove, if she has any, that she was legally married to the late Ojukwu.

I have always said that 'the problem of the Niger-Delta is the people of the Niger-Delta themselves'. Fine GEJ got Tompolo the contract that he used to amass a lot of wealth but let us ask Tompolo, "Why didn't he use his ill-gotten money to put in place infrastructure in the Niger-Delta?". How many things worthy of mention can we point to that he has used the money for? I thought he once said that he was fighting for the emancipation of the Niger-Delta. Is this the emancipation he's been referring to all this while? I cry for the Niger-Delta because one day, that oil and gas that the Niger-Delta so depend on, will finish and they would regret their actions greatly. It is not a curse but reality.

It really is the era of the Chairman! First, MI was named UN ambassador for the Smuggling of Migrants. Then he became a Glo ambassador. And now, Africa’s number one rapper is the Lagos State Ambassador for Energy! Big congrats to my favorite rapper!

I need to say something here and it is a call to Nigerians to always look at the bright side of things and not only the bad part. I believe the Lagos State Government should be commended and not otherwise. Jude Abaga (a.k.a MI) is neither a Yoruba man nor is he from Lagos but he was made the Lagos State Ambassador for Energy. No one has come out to praise Gov. Fashola for this. If it was something else, some people will come out with venom and say unprintable things on nairaland. Let's always be objective. Thanks

Remember, Enyeama was wearing the captain's hand band during the Confederations' Cup. He should have controlled his defence. In addition, Enyeama was more experienced than all the defenders on the pitch that day. Enyeama joined and started playing for the Super Eagles in 2002 and has played in two FIFA World Cup tournaments. He has also won the CAF Champions League on two occasions. When did Oboabona, Omeruo, Echiejile and Efe Ambrose join the Super Eagles? What have they achieved compared to Enyeama. All these players joined Super Eagles starting from 2009. The closest player to Forlan, when that goal was scored, was Omeruo who started playing for Super Eagles only in 2013!

I blame Enyeama for the blunder!
