Hermes119:How can u compare someone who scored the most goals across Europe with someone who scored most goals in his league alone and not across Europe. I didn't know assists were also counted. If it was Messi dat scored most goals across Europe and Lewandowski had scored highest goals in his league alone they would have given Messi saying Messi scored most across Europe not just in a single league. Adding assists, nutmegs and co is not a good criteria from my standpoint because there was a year iniesta had all these but was robbed of the award too but then again I hope they will maintain d same criteria wen choosing the next winner. Messi won the Copa America but Lewandowski also won the league and other cups too. Except the organizers bliv national cup is valuable than club cups. If the world has voted I think Lewa would have won it but that panel of Judges made their own decision which is not too good in my opinion. |
Kingcalls: Hermes119:My brother the matter tire me too. This is what I'm saying anything Messi wins they give him the award because of it. It shouldn't be so. Of course I prefer Messi to Ronaldo but look at Lewandowski. Messi did not win the league, was not highest goal scorer but because he won Copa America they gave him d award. If Messi had not won Copa America and had scored more goals they will say he has more goals and will give him d award. If Messi has more assists they will still give him the award because of it. I did not doubt Messi's previous awards but the one of this year, Lewa deserved it |

Numerouno94:If it was Messi that deserved it 2 seasons ago, they would have given him. I will pick Messi ahead of Ronaldo anytime but I think even last season, Lewa was better. Forget about Copa America, even if Lewandowski won Euro with his country they will still give Messi the award. I'm sure a lot of people will not be happy with the organizers of the award and I feel If Lewandowski performs well this season they might give him the next one to make amends |
fredoooooo:Oh thanks for the clarification |
Even though Messi is a fantastic footballer, I think Lewandowski deserves this year's prize. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but if we put sentiment aside, Lewa achieved more than Messi this year. Giving Messi the award shows how imperfect humans are. |
Jostoman: Chai Nigerians una no go kill person with laugh. I think Nigeria should be comedy capital of the world |
lokoloko84:Thanks for this comment. I never knew about Seychelles too. Well, anytime Nigerians are ready, they will wake up for now we can only do our best and leave the rest |
BUSHHUNTER:This is the truth.100 yrs after now, most of us will be history. That's why I wonder why some pple take pleasure in making others cry in this miserable short life we all are in ? All of us are potential dust no matter the wealth we have. If only we humans can Love God and love our neighbor, 99% of our problems will be over. |
emae009:As an importer if with Ngn10,000 I can import goods worth $10,000 won't i be happy? Maybe u won't but I will be extremely happy. Ask many importers now if they are happy with the current exchange rate. |
Timoleon:Agreed but strength of a currency is part of it. Ghana is not the only peaceful country. Will they rush there if 1ngn is 1000cedis? Why are they not much in Gambia? Gambia is peaceful too with favourable business conditions even better than Ghana that demands $1m. Asides that, Collecting $1m usd from foreigners b4 they do business if their currency is lower than ours is not favourable to me maybe it is to you We can't have a progressive thinking government if we believe d only way to save the Naira is if we export more. This is one way thinking which Ghana refused to follow. Ghana did something with regards their currency, they even stopped their major export which is cocoa and heaven did not fall. Mark my words very soon they will start making Nigeria must go bags in Ghana. |
emae009:You can bro. The government can wake up one morning and say 1NGN is 0.5 usd and nothing will happen. are we not facing inflation already? Why can't we do so? I don't go with the norms. We should think outside the box. If we do it what will happen? Okay when 1ngn was equal to 1gbp, GBP o not USD was our economy better than that of the the us? Even if we go back to produce more than what we were producing in 1970 and us stops exporting anything, I can bet anyone that the Usd will still be greater. Devaluation favours the elites cos they pile up their funds in hard currencies and wen they bring such funds here it becomes massive. Wen u bring it 2m dollars here and it is 2m ngn or wen u bring ur 2m usd here and it becomes 2 bil usd which do u think they will prefer? The poor masses suffer more |
Timoleon:U saw how Nigerian traders were disgraced in Ghana and it took the intervention of our VP to calm nerves. Our aim is to be higher by introducing naira for dollar? It is development for them cos their currency is better that is why their Government asked Giant of Africa citizens to pay 1m usd b4 u do business there and yet people are rushing there. Let me answer your question. Our aim is to be better than Ghana by introducing policies that will make 5kNaira equal to 1usd. Our competition is not Ghana. Ghana is too small We are competing with Zimbabwe after all Ghana has more exports than us |
[quote author=GeneralDae post=107248689]Bro don't worry Timoleon can read hearts to know I am not thinking of others. He still sees Naira as better than cedis. I hope he saw how many Nigerian traders were disgraced in Ghana. Ghana is not our competition Zimbabwe is |
SarkinYarki: ![]() |
Timoleon:No sir Ghana is not. I only used Ghana as a reference point but let us start from somewhere. Ok let me ask you sir. Who is our competition with the way Naira is falling. Zimbabwe right? Am not bothered anyway if NGN likes it should be usd2k it will even favour me. I'm just thinking of other people |
GayPontiff: chai bro pls calm down abeg no call person daughter and future wife monkey o. Most girls are just for what they will get today. Very few invest for the future. Her thoughts at this point no dey d same wavelength with you but with time sha she fit learn |
Timoleon:That is why I used Ghana's example. Do they have more to sell than us? Yet the new Ghana cedis is stronger than the Naira Purchasing power of the current 1cedi is greater than 1ngn if we are waiting for us to export at the level of China or other developed countries, we are in for a long ride. My aim is not to argue with you bro. Let's just help the Naira appreciate in value. There are so many ways to kill a bird |
Timoleon:We are not equating the Naira with the dollar. Read my post. It is d e-Naira that will be pegged to a dollar and the CBN including the banks know how to do the reconciliation back end. Note that e-naira is not physical cash so it won't be in your hands. You will only have it in ur account. CBN will collect dollar from u and give u d e-Naira which is d same equivalent as usd. Bro it will work and heaven won't fall. Once we try it for 6 months, Naira will appreciate little by little instead of sinking like a wrecked ship |
Timoleon:That is what I am saying. We should do same with the e-naira let's redenominate it and leave the Naira as it is. People will convert their dollar to e-naira but the banks will remit usd to those foreign sites. The CBN will have dollars and the populace will have the equivalent in e-naira. E- naira will be our dollar here and d value in usd of that e-naira will be with the banks and CBN. This will stop dollar hoarding. Read my 2nd and third points bro. The Naira for dollar policy is also making the Naira weak and we have intellectuals in this country o. Now ask urself do people value what they get for free? I see Naira for dollar policy as subtle devaluation of the Naira. If it were to be in this country, many people will say redenomination won't work but it worked with the new cedis. I weep for coming generations bro as I see 1 dollar at 1k naira very soon if drastic steps are not taken |
emae009:Bro pls find out how Ghana strengthened their currency. The new cedis as we speak is more valuable than the Naira that is why Nigerians go there to set up shops. Ghana does not export more than what we export. I use to have this mindset that your economy must be strong but as I grew up I conducted a research and I discovered we were lied to. Naira was devalued for no just reason. What we experience that made us devalue the Naira, some countries that experienced same with lesser exports did not devalue their currency |
ethicallyright:Thanks bro I was about saying the same thing. People saying it won't work. How did Ghana solve their currency issue. What does Ghana export? The major export in Ghana is Gold and Cocoa. Even recently, the government stopped export of cocoa to Switzerland. So we export more than Ghana but why is the new cedis stronger than Naira? Nigerians keep running to Ghana and South Africa to set up shops. Maybe until wen the Naira hit 1k b4 we will be satisfied |
ethicallyright:Thanks bro. God bless you |
Personally, I think the CBN did well but they can do better on the e-Naira because as it stands, majority of Nigerians don't see it as too special. A simple reason is that it is pegged to the ever dwindling Naira. To me, we have been using e-Naira a long time ago since we started using e-banking because we have been transferring Naira without holding raw cash. If the CBN can listen to these suggestions, the e- Naira might just be just the right solution we need to stabilize our currency. 1- Peg the e- Naira to a dollar and tell everyone to convert all their dollars to e-Naira. Let 1 e-Naira be equivalent to a dollar and leave the Naira as it is. What will happen is that, the demand for dollar will gradually decrease. 2-Scrap the Naira 4 dollar policy and replace it with e- Naira for Naira policy where once you save Naira, you get a tiny fraction of e- Naira as profits. This will encourage more people to save the Naira and with time, it will increase the value of the Naira because as it stands, most people do not save the Naira anymore due to steady decline in value. 3- All imports should be done with the new e- naira ( which is pegged to a dollar) and tie the e-Naira with foreign sites where people buy and sell products and services like Amazon and e- bay with the reconciliation carried out back-end by the CBN together with the banks. These are just my suggestions as a concerned Nigerian. I believe we have bright minds in this country. Experts on this forum can contribute to what I have written and make corrections where I am wrong. God bless you ladies and gentlemen |
Girls love power, drama, attention and excitement. Whether you are a good guy or not, they will like you once you display these things but you must not display them all the time. Sometimes act hot and at other times, act cold. So good guys out there, don't change your personality because of any girl |
I see things like this and wonder what the hope of the next generation is. If you are poor in this country, you are finished. No good health care, no good education and we are talking of open grazing and donkey bill in 2021. |
Some days ago, the CBN launched an electronic version of the Naira called E- Naira which have been getting less positive reviews. Terrible news everywhere. I feel for his relatives. How people kill a fellow human amazes me forgetting that life is short. |
kenzysmith:Lol. You want Man u fans to fight u. |
Bigchristo:Thanks my bro. God bless you too and everyone who have contributed meaningfully |
Arsenate:Thanks bro. It shows there are still people who value the truth |
lahizak:I am not making anyone feel worthless and not all men sleep around. I don't and I know many people are like me too. If I sleep around I won't mind marrying a girl who does same but u know what? Many guys who sleep around don't even want to marry a girl who does the same. The worst mistake a chaste man can make is marry a wayward lady. She won't even appreciate his chastity and will still cheat on him and vice versa. |
