ebukason3: My advise is don't rewrite jamb because I believe there is an option for you to do change of course ( you can change to Cs/math or CS) On a more serious note I will advise you to continue maths and join IT groups (google team, 21st century club, ...) and learn programming during semester break. You should also try and get some certifications eg CCNA. Mathematics make you a better programmer , I knew some CS graduates that wish they combined maths. I myself graduated from mathematics also member of google team. The current google educator sub sahara Africa is from my team. Decision now is yours. Thanks for this |

Quigley: Study mathematics but don't stop at Bachelors degree. Once you are done with your B.sc, start working towards your masters in Canada or USA, don't go to the U.K. Apply for scholarships, with a good GPA, you will get a school that will even pay for you for being a teachers PA. Thanks for this. I will be very grateful if you can share links of available scholarship for Mathematics so as to check their criteria to prepare me ahead. |

mikezuruki: Mathematics is equally as good. In a Nigerian Federal or state university, you're better off studying Mathematics than Computer Science. Nigerian Universities can keep up with the trend of mathematics but not with ever evolving CS. So my Brother, continue with the mathematics and at the same time, start learning how to code. Thanks. what about in terms of job opportunity |

I love programming and I love Mathematics. I choose Mathematics myself when I applied for jamb since 2017. Currently in 200lvl. My eldest brother called my dad and ask him what I was studying, so he told him it's "Mathematics". After their discussion, I was told to start planning to write another jamb and choose computer science. I don't know how to convince them. pls help, should I continue with Mathematics or sit for another jamb.
pls, I need your candid advice. |

Can't you find a job as a primary school teacher?
Work in a store, filling station, or fast food restaurant?
Do home lessons for small kids in your vicinity?
I have interacted with over 20 jobs that dont require even OND. From Keke and okada riders, to the guy that sold me fuel this night.
The guy that sold movie tickets this night didn't have an OND. I'm sure of that. He as a bright eyed high school leaver who needed some spare cash.
You also don't an OND to sell and make sharwarma or stay in bet9ja shop.
The girl at KFC didn't speak like she had even an OND.
Uber driver didn't need OND!
If you get my drift by now then ... You have said it all. God knows, if I have, I would help. But, you have given him something more than money. Let me give you an example, My own brother inpregnated a girl at age 21. I swear, He didn't even ask for my mum and dad support. He started working for someone has an Okada Rider. believe me, people were mocking him stylishly. From there, he bought his own Okada. After some years, he handed over the Okada to someone who will do as he has done to someone. This continues like this and he has over three children now without the help of my parents. Although, he's not into Okada again. He sells fuel at a fuel station. He's paid big I say big because he buys our foods stuff for school and pay our hostel fee in school for me and my sister. I swear to God, my brother didn't even have School cert nor OND. He said he won't beg and has been support the family in his little way. He's hand working and I want the OP to emulate him rather than giving room for people to trade insult on your parents. God bless my big bro for his diligency cos he his trying been 27 by now with 3kids. All his kids are in a good private school. Hardworking pays.Lastly, he doesn't smokes, drink nor eat with all his ten finger cos he knows whom he his. OP take to this |
