Jodera: Are you sure about this? If it was before (during their Henry time and so) where you need a traditional 9 to win things, I would have agreed but not now were football have evolved and system/automatism is in play presently.
Haaland just added gloss to Man city attack(even though he's devastating). Guardiola before Haaland in Man city was having superior goal difference and breaking all manner of records without a traditional 9. You can say "oh it's guardiola and he's a genius" but what about Klopp. He used Firmino (an Am in Liverpool) to win everything winnable. In fact, Liverpool would have been that Man city everyone is talking about if Pep wasn't sharing time with him.
My point is, the goal is to put the ball in the back of the net for a team to win and that's what Arteta is improvising on. Now anyone can score. Like literally anyone, so I won't have to be afraid where if my CF doesn't score or he's having a bad day, then I'm doomed.
I watched that video Sod09 dropped ystdy on Van Persie. In one of the clips I heard where they said in Van Persie last season for us, he scored 30 league goals while our second highest goalscorer (Walcott) scored 8. Geez!!!!
Imagine if Van Persie had injury towards the end of that season, that's how we would have been insulting village people.
Sometimes, it's subconsciously not healthy Glad you said Haaland added gloss. If anything at all, he's not only scoring, his present is fear because of what CBs know what he's capable of. For now, we do not have that permanent presence. We all saw how Osimhen was at just concluded Afcon even if he got just 1 goal. Every defence was nervous just because of his presence (finisher, provider, aerial) From 88 to more than 88 is because a good finisher will bury chances more than one that's not. Besides, like I've always said, cross and nod goals will increase. Meaning we won't have to do much rogbodiyan on ground. Gabriel vexed me yesterday. He wan score but he was complicating things for himself 😂😂😂 If we had prime Auba in this current setup, we both know he will be on 30GA by now. Glad you used RVP example sef. That team was wack under Wenger in epl as regards creativity. Days we were praying for Song to return from injury so bad... PTSD days. |

Jodera: At a time I started doubting if we really needed a striker during the blip days we went on a low scoring run that accounted for 3 losses(2pl and 1 fa cup). It was increasingly bad when we were missing easy chances. Then when I remember watching most of our games again and noticed that aside the Fulham game which we deserved to lose, all the other games were games we didn't really deserve to lose, we were just not clinical in front of goal (I remember saying it here around January).
Thank goodness Arteta and the boys found a way to overcome the toothlessness in front of goal. Not only that they look sharper, more commited and motivated and everyone seems to know their role expertly.
Long may it continue!! We go still need am. Kai is doing okay last few games, but to be bigger than the big boys, we need one that will spread fear just by presence alone. See how Haaland positioning in Manchester derby was causing the two CBs to stay glued and give space to Foden and co. Plus as we are at peak creativity right now, additional threat is a 9 that reduced wasted runs or chances. It will make CBs to forget leaving their zone. If without 9 we dey do 88. With striker, we go do 110. Esp if that 9 is provider too. The atmosphere is ready and great. Na GJ dey make person dey feel like that spot is trivial. |

Nelson, not Fabio, ought to come on. Fabio at wing just killed this game for me. Guy was tooooo stagnant and it killed some long passes that either of Gabriel or Partey for give am. I hope our two wingers are okay sha.
Now it is left to us to hit Brentford well as Klopp vs Pep is next show down.
61 should turn to 64 before those two play so pressure go high for both eager to go top before we meet City. In a way it's a tricky one. But a draw will help.
If Liverpool win, we go 2nd pending our fixture with City. If City win, same. |

lovewins: It won't even get to that. It will just be one blogger or twitter handle who needs Elon musk money that will use them to farm impressions. Hopefully someone wise in the team can call their attention to it. Again it's puzzling that it is those born and raised in Nigeria that are doing this. I noticed too. I just needed confirmation. Infact since 2022 wafcon, I've been getting the vibes that can hide behind sisterly vibes. Well well. joseph1832: no need to drop names, when the time comes, those players will regret ever posting such pictures on the internet.
All it will take for Nigerians on social media to descend on those players heavily, is for those players to "play rubbish" or miss a goal scoring opportunity, then all hell will break lose.
Alex Iwobi, Yakubu Aiyegbeni are clear pointers, and these men are straight. Even till today, some Nigerians still hold a grudge against Yakubu.
All this female players who throw their sexuality in the faces of Nigerians should know is, "social media never forgets." I'm even sacred for them. That's the fear. The descending on them. |

Onyi Echegini still need to add more to her physical side of the game as she lost the ball on one or two occasions against Cameroon, anyway she just went pro and will definitely improve as time goes on.. Playing against African Opponents demands a lot physically... But with Stronger Ayinde, Ucheibe, Abiodun behind her she’s covered. This also helped Tony Payne in Midfield with them behind her.. Imagine all 4 playing. Or Joe coming on for Payne or vv depending on opponents strength and weaknesses. Cos two at the back though. |

charlesemeka85: 🇳🇬 Everybody wants to play for the Super Eagles now. Another young German-born striker, Justin Njinmah, who is playing for Werder Bremen, has expressed his interest in representing Nigeria after hearing from a friend that the NFF may be monitoring his performance.
According to Njinmah, the Super Eagles' latest interest is motivating him to perform better because it would be a nice experience to play alongside Victor Osimhen and other great players in the Super Eagles.
He acknowledged the massive competition in the Super Eagles' front lines but still believed that he can break into the team when the opportunity arises.
What would be the reason for the recent increase of interest to play for Super Eagles ?
#copied Media There's been a high upturn of Super Eagles content on that continent's social media atmosphere. It's huge. Deltamani: It’s going to be a Difficult task for Randy to make especially this no.9 issue.. The typical No.9 on ground right now is still Macleans Chinonyerem who’s based in Russia 🇷🇺
She was having a great season last year not until injury came in and kept her out till the end of last season.. She lead the Russian top scorer chat with 9goals before she even got injured.. She’s very Strong, quick, hold up very okay, good in the Air, Uses both feet’s effectively, good penalty taker and can bully her way through defense but right now the level of the Russian League will be called into question considering those playing the no.9 right now are playing in tougher leagues (NWSL with Esther in China) Maybe Randy will have to take a look at her again.. Any 9 that's balling right now should be called up. We need to build on the form vs England. A 9 like prime Desire in that game would have buried one of our missed chances. Infact it will make things easier for Randy cos if a 9 is in that box doing everything a 9 does, nobody will want to focus on our many lapses. JOE connecting passes, raking up assists with a 9 Esther chemistry with such a 9 like Ademola-Osimhen..... Payne giving thru balls that end up in the net. We should be preparing for post-zee mode by now. |

It's time we start giving urgently and any nonsense African coupe refre tit for tat, its time to start giving dem wotowoto and Vawulence back in equal measure, The conclusion from this highlight is simple for me This 2024, Super Falcons must get a natural 9 back into the fold!! No more makeshifts! Enough is enough. The attributes we need for the 9 is not in the current squad. Simple! We've gotten a packed midfield with loaded quality. It is only reasonable we get a 9 that will compliment the technical prowess of these midfielders. This is non-negotiable!! |

Ohale — Demehin —- Plumptre
Alozie — Ucheibe — Ayinde/Abiodun — T. Payne
Ajibade— Okoronkwo — Echegini I trust he'll handle that aspect well. But these girls need some chemistry overall. Especially transitioning to attack. The wingers run aren't always followed. Once again, a lack of a proper 9 overall. JOE and Ashleigh had some good chemistry today anyways. Ajibade gave like a 6.0/10 performance to me. Rough play to blame? One gots know the ref got their back in such game so one doesn't commit and gets no justice. Nobody was carded for the Ohale stamp. Very annoying. |

AkinDS: Wasn’t too impressed with Ucheibe - good ball winner but makes far too many mistakes with the ball. Her passing is certainly suspect, especially when she tries to be creative. Would play Abiodun, Echegini and Halimatu to start against SA. On the right wing, I think Onumonu might also be a credible option. We also need Nicole Payne back. Rofiat was constantly being molested by the Cameroonians as she was too lightweight for that position. We have personnel to play 343 352 4231 or 4321 I don't like Toni on wing. Her beside JOE with Esther in front looks more fun. But again, there Ajibade. One thing about Ucheibe game is she can play defense too. So she's most likely a starter vs SA. Imuran na another case entirely. What's wrong with her? As for Zee, i dunno what to say. Randy should use her as deem fit. |
