PDPGuy: Hopefully, Onyenezide and Payne would click in the midfield in the near future At least Payne would focus less on creativity once any baller comes to take that spot. |

Paris FC 3rd in France isn’t bad, I’m expecting a move to PSG though.. All well and good. Looked like I didn't notice. Smart club. Price don double. |

joxxy01: Another thing I noticed is that our recent friendlies against this top teams have really helped us in closing the wide gaps between us, we just need to keep building for the olympics and next worldcup, who knows we may be the next tittle contender and dominate the world as we did in Africa. The prospect is there in the team if you ask me. Going forward, we need to leave the American Continent and focus on friendlies with the Europeans. By 2026, the gap will be so so unnoticeable. Let's also try the style of the Japanese. There's enough time to start that with the young Crop of players with a great coach. |

Deltamani: Randy Waldrum to stay is okay by me….. I support that but the Following players must gooooo, like once the team Land for Nigeria mk them find their way.!
1. Tochukwu Oluehi 36yrs 2. Yewande Balogun 33yrs 3. Onome Ebi 40yrs 4. Ngozi Okobi 28yrs 5. Desire Oparanozie 29yrs 6. Fransisca Ordega 29yrs
We need the Younger Bloods and inform players like 1. Nicole Payne 2. Rinsola Babajide 3. Evelyn Ijeh and the rest that deserves a spot in the team, Macleans Chinonyerem, Anam IMO can fight for a spot too coupled with the U20 stars that we have seen.. If we can get a baller like Jermaine. Which of those aforementioned can play like she does?

JohnBullMySon: England is not Netherlands mate. If SA plays England, their total possession wouldn't pass 30.
There's a reason we had 20 shots in total. Count in the two bar strikes and blocked shots/header in the 18 you'll have a better picture. Only picture to see is we are not clinical in front of goal when we get the chances. Simple! But that's the next project i hope. I'm sha happy that we made Sarina wear a really worried look all throughout the touchline. It's left for nff to think about shoulder-shoulder with the best and leave backstage gbasgbos where it should be. But...😂 |

PDPGuy: Stat:
For the 5th WC in a row, the Super Falcons only scored in one match 😲 since 2019, its obvious we have an attacking problem. But that alone is totally reliant on lack of creativity behind the strikers. Better days ahead cos people dey ground for that one. |

lovewins: Let me reiterate again
Randy has committed to staying in the Job. He made this known to Osasu during the post match press conference. The ball is now in the NFF's court to do the needful.
However, like you rightly noted, he's upped his CV and I won't be surprised if better teams in Europe or even America comes for him. So it's better we access quickly and move fast.
On the attacking end, I really do not think that's a problem. Who would have believed this team can defend this well. I think he made the most of the time afforded him. Give him the needed support and get him assistants that will support him. With fresh bloods added to the team I think that part of our game will improve. Let's see what Nff does then. All efforts at defending must lead to results on attacking. We need to get it right now, especially as majority of them are u25. Next WWC they'll be 28 and 29. Time for the u20 and u17 set to come. Nobody dey mention Afolabi. She's too small abi? 😀 |
Sports › Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by daveP(m): 2:38pm On Aug 07, 2023 |
codemaniacs: You're right..
the only reason I have a problem with Demehin playing long balls is because the midfielders and strikers don't know how to pass the ball among themselves and anytime Demehin played the long ball forward to Oshoala or Ajibade could not keep possession, sometimes they will run ahead of ball and the defender will clear or they will head the ball and the midfielders won't be able to control it or they will head the ball forward and try to outrun the defender to get the ball.
it would have been better if Demehin passed to Plumptre then Plumptre passes the ball to the winger or midfielder using 1 - 2 passes or runs forward with the ball like she was doing in the 1st half first 20 minutes.
this is where Onumonu is better than Oshoala and the reason why Onumonu should play as a CAM when Oshoala comes because Onumonu knows how to keep ball and link the midfield with the attack. Despite the red, those English defenders were using 1-2-3 passes to beat our marking. Annoyed me gaan. We started ours on the right but nothing came from them. Ajibade will be on wind and nobody within view to pass to except that useless cross that we can never ever utilize to threaten a dove. If we get deputies to the 3 players that Randy loves, he won't need to make subs that aren't helpful in the long run. Besides, an attacker supposed to have an instinct that a tackle can win a pk. We had 3 such time when that should have been the next line of action but they all didn't think so. Super Falcons better find one camp to train for setpieces prior to olympics |

lovewins: Well said.
I understand people's frustration. A loss can be very painful especially when you played your best game.
But we have to count our blessings:
1. This is our best World cup performance so far
2. We played 4 games and did lose any in regular time. For context, we played World no 3 who are European Champions, World number 7 who are Olympic Champions, World Number 10 who are host nation and World no 20 and didn't lose any
3. We have the worst defensive record at the world cup. This time however, we conceded just 2 goals in 4 games. Read that again, we conceded just 2 goals in 4 games.
4. More importantly, we have a team to build on. About half of the team is 25 and less. We only need a few additions and subtractions and we'll have a better team
5. I can't believe I'm saying this.but I have to
"NFF, Renew Randy's Contract".
Give him the support needed and watch this team fly. All, except point 5 are just sure. Especially if Randy doesn't want to continue, knowing now that he's going to be hot cake in women's national team football. The odds are against us!! US Twitter made him trend after our Australia game, they want him for them. Let's see if that becomes official too. Besides, if we continue, we may not see attacking flair and possession buildup. I don't think i can continue with that. But it's also a long while we played with such energy and confidence. I dunno if there's a better manager out there to best this. Nff also have bad rep in a way. Nobody wants to come repeat such brouhaha. Let's see if we can pull this through or pick a local coach from ex-ints |

codemaniacs: Onyinizidane needs to be forced into the team.. Demehin was in-experience was too glaring.. so let Onyinizidane's, Ajakaye, Sebastine inexperience come and go quickly. The logic i was using alll the while, yet many thought i was capping. If Imuran becomes a zinchenko tomorrow, everyone will know that going to such grand stage has helped her thinking and mentality. Demehin is also inexperienced and despite a good outing, it was glaring. I'll prefer that kind upfront in worst case scenario. 16-20yos wre starting for their countries and they're not that talented. Time waits for no woman. |

AndSunGorilla: Give Randy his flowers abeg. Very easy to see mistakes after we have lost . I am proud of the team and the coaching crew. My complaints are just about what to shoo in going forward. This team has made us very proud by far, especially with all the brouhaha prior to the Traveling to Australia. Nff are saying 29matches while commentators is saying we barely had time to prepare for the tournament proper. The fact that nff still missed this simple logic tells alot about the current guys at the helm. Anyways, let's get the Olympics up and doing. We should make a podium finish there. |

Hopefully she gets a better club this simmer. Paris FC better be ready to cash out. She's one of the best in the world. I dunno if England can be a destination or Spain. But she must japa. She's 22 and needs UWCL time now. All the best to her. England and Sarina knew they were lucky. We need such luck next time. |

M7even: Funny how we didn't end up missing Ngozi Okobi in the world cup. But how I wished we had a player like Deborah Abiodun in the extra time of this game things might have been different. Because she can go forward and create as well as mark, I guess that was why we had ordega. Toni has no exact deputy on this team. Echegini can't play her role. That's one aspect that pained me alot. Immediately Toni got fatigued, we had to start long balls approach direct. Plus Ayinde was yanked off when Christy was actually the one more tired. At least this proves that with the right manager, nobody is indispensable. I expect a lot of the points we seeing here to be opposite of what nff will do las las. The money issue is there too. |

codemaniacs: Its the same style of play that affected the Super Eagles both at the Nations Cup and against Ghana..
That's why I advocate for players like Nwakali in the midfield.
Demehin was the major culprit and the players distance from each other was another factor. the player Demehin was supposed to pass to kept running forward anytime Demehin got the ball and instead of Demehin to pass the ball to the other Center Back she kept playing long balls..
Both S.E and S.F need younger ball playing players like Sebastian, Ajakaye, Nathan Tella et.c.. Sadly, it all still ricochet back to Glass House. If they have a style, they'll employ coaches based on that as well. Just like how Sarina changed a lot of things with England, for example. I don't have a problem with Demehin that noticeable. The question is all those balls she gave, how were they utilized by Rash/Oshoala/etc. Another crux is Nnadozie needs to learn goalkicks. See the reach of Earps and precise. Its the end, I don't want it to look like we focusing on the -ve really. We've had some +ves. But style of play and with personnel that can be moulded to fit possession is welcome. Personally if Onyenezide was in this lineup, she'll be the most fouled. Time for her to get her chance so that by next WWC, we have a better approach to attack. Her or anyone else found to be worth it. |

That feeling. Even the 2008 and 2012 UCL finals no match am.
My entire family was clustered in front of the TV biting fingernails and clutching our necks, white with worry. That 2008 own dey too. But for national.... We just don't look set. And that's worrying. Someone, i felt we won't have played better if the red card was given to us. We have played in the WWC with pressure as our style. 1st match we get comfortable and we can't even get creative with hundreds of chances. Besides we approach their box 18 relying on individual brilliance rather than 1-2 teamwork. Ayinde was vexed she was removed. She's also a good pk taker. |

codemaniacs: They don't train on rondo's, short passes and possession football so they don't know how to build on ground. Watch as Nff prioritize other stuff and style of play will not even be on the table. This is why i prefer ex footballers by far. Any ex footballer that's at the top and watch this our style will want a coach that changes and perfect it. Sad. SA would have scored after that red card. Their defenders were tired. The switch for Alozie should have come after the red card also. But that Alozie miss vos of left foot pain me. Sarina knows she's lucky. I also saw a bottle with Earps. Seems they did their homework on our guys. We didn't look like we did any. |
