That I know right well.

Everything depends on something. Even the foundation of the earth was laid on waters. The OT is as fundermentally important as the NT. Both are complimentary and mutually inclusive.

No matter how craftly packaged, familiar spiritism is highly abhorred by the Most High.
My prayer is man's inquisitive search for the truth, may be found in the Christ.

But Dave, have you not seen instances where the president gives an order to his aides to ensure unfettered access to certain people?

See ehn, like I said before, I have no qualms with the number of people I have to go through to reach the father. Jesus said he and the father are one. If I have reached the father, and I am sure I did, then I have reached the Christ too...even without realizing.

I think that it is the same for lots of people universally, who might not know the Christ as we know, but still have access to the divine...

Except of course, you are of the exclusive school of thought that declares all but Christians as condemned and unworthygrin
Satan is one of those that have unfettered access(Job 2) to God. No human since the fall has had that access, and they can't unless God wishes.

Don't think dear. You must be sure! If man really worships the divine, won' they obey the divine as well?

right glad i am, that you acknowledge that such an instance lies solely with him. I have seen instances, but in this case, the president's order remains until he changes it, and not because we have knowledge that he can change it as he wishes. you get? grin

Infact very rampant. Only God's Spirit indwelling in man can discern. why? cos these spirits say true things about persons, events, etc too. Even the elect will get decieved if not conscious. It's one of the reasons i respect the late Kenneth E. Hagin; he emphasized every church/gathering of believers must have the 5 ministers(apostles, prophets, pastors, evangelists, teachers) for spiritual balance.

I hope its now clearer to you? I'll hop off at this b/stop.

God is firm and frowns at any inclination to familiar spirits under any guise.

You are spot on.
Thanks bro! It's why i rebuff those that consider the OT as irrelevant. But it becomes relevant when they wana read Psalms, talk of prophecies about the Messiah, or majorly as seen today, tithing and offering!! Rarely does the NT have strong points against familiar spirits like the OT. The two still compliment each other.

The invaluable experience and exposure by Nicky Cruz comes to mind.

But I do not recall demoting the bible to a negative side nau, Dave.
I simply said that I am no longer a Christian.
Or is Jesus for Christians alone? tongue

You really need to understand that I have no qualms with Jesus, his history, and the numerous accounts of his life and times.

That said, what I quipped earlier was that the writer never gave a personal account of his experience of the Christ. What he did was try to provide incontrovertible proof of the existence of Lord Yeshua....that's a good stride, but it is not what I need, my dear.
Finally! You're coming out more clearly.

Mind you, Josh didn't just proof the existence. He proved it all rounda dear. All rounda!! From stiffnecked atheist to foremost apologetist!!

But now, tell me what exactly you need.

But you do have with his claim to Deity and his Authority? Quite easy to acknowledge the historical aspect of his life, even his teachings, but all these are incomplete without the 1st two.

Infact, decades ago, skeptics stood on the grounds that he didnt even exist. But today, the agree he did, but still disprove his claims to Divinity(direct and indirect). Beats me to why they keep shifting ground.

1st boldened--Correct me if needed, but you said you don't believe the Bible is God's Word anymore. What will i call that!!

2nd--He came to connect mankind back to God. He even enjoyed the company of sinners. But it didn't stop there. He came so that everyone that knows him will pass through the processes to escape damnation. Salvation101 is the course code. You can't just acknowledge him from afar.

I meant his submission is interesting. How did he come about the python spirit theory?

Dave
You didn't say/ask that earlier though..

The spirit of divination(or python, apollo. ifa to the yorubas), is the translation from the Greek which reads "spirit of python". According to fable, a huge serpent had an oracle on Mt Parnassus that was famous for predicting future events. Apollo slew this serpent and was called Pythius, becoming celebrated as the foreteller of events. It was believed that all who pretended to foretell events were influenced by the spirit of Apollo Pythius. a priestess at his temple was called Pythoness.

For centuries, many nations and kings sought guidance from the oracle of Apollo at Delphi, Greece, and the prietesses there. The Vulgate Bible read this Python and diviners(i.e Isa 8:19). To the greeks and romans, a python denoted one that had the spirit of prophesying. particularly applied to the priestesses at Delphi.

My dear ehn, the thing messed up my mind real good. I had to go spiritual cleansing in MFM
The thing is these spirits can say the truth about someone, like they did Paul, Luke and Silas. But the Holy Spirit stirred up Paul to end the circus show(we don't know how long she must have been following them. They didn't react at 1st, minding their own business). Obviously, the Holy Spirit doesn't agree with such a spirit!!

Indwelling of the Spirit would quench any thirst to want to "search out" the future, destiny, need for foresight.

These were conc heathen practices that has the power to attract even God's people(not filled with the Spirit; explains why Saul went for one). Subsequent kings of Israel, Judah did same cos they didn't want to obey God's side of the bargain of communion-Total Obedience!!

Every word she said was true, but the purpose of satan was to discredit the message of the apostles by making the public think they were in league with the demons.

By all means, go ahead
Familiar spirits are demon spirits possessing mediums- those who give their will to them, to imitate dead human beings, to make predictions, promote doctrines, etc(1 Tim 4:1-7). Clear examples like in 1 Sam 28. It seems like Samuel actually appeared to Saul, but 1 Chron 10:13 proves it was a familiar spirit imitating Samuel that appeared.

In Acts 16:16, the girl had a spirit of Python. People under this demonic operation would become swollen and give answers in a frezied state of mind. Counterfeit demostrations were made by ventriloquists.
(Lev 19:31)- gives a command, cos they defile, & endpoint of 1 who defiles God's temple is destruction.

Lev 20:6 states the death penalty for those that go after them. v27 also emphasizes the death penalty; a proof that God really detests them totally.

Deut 18:9-14 depicts it as an abominable act;by practice or by association. Reading further is about the Messiah though.
(Isa 8:19; 19:3; 29:4)

The example of president, monarch access will be further elaborated on. @mizmycoli

begging questions like: how did they get the new line to call? who gave them the new line, esp when the order that all must drop at the son's desk. do they know its the son that now has the line with him, and not the king, president? nothing like "specially have the line".(its not a rule of partiality). No matter the urgency at hand, the trust on the son to deliver must also be there, since the king entrusted it to the son, then likewise, expectation of such is needed from citizens.

Now based on the order given, wont you as a good citizen, want to obey such an order?(the Prince has the line always though)

IF JESUS WERE NOT GOD, THEN HE DESERVED AN OSCAR.

Paraphrasing, After baptism by John, he ascended up out of the water and a voice from heaven spake "This is my beloved Son in whom i'm well pleased."

That was God's stamp of recognition on Christ. It happened at the Mount of Transfiguration again(matt 17). It was for this reason he was crucified; his claim to be God which was considered blasphemy by the jews. He wasn't accused, he incriminated himself. Imagine

Why i'm i here? cos he is "THE WAY" AND NOT "A WAY"

John 10:30-33; 5:17,18
Most especially this...
John 5:23 KJV
"that all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him."

cc Mizmycoli, analize701

Bottomline: it's impossible to take up on only 1. They are inseperable in acknowledgment and worship.

Okay..
I just really feel that there's no need for that, y'know...
I think that what the writer tries to prove is different from what I seek/sought.

It's not about evidence(s).
It's about experience(s).

So let me ask you, Dave...

Knowing what you know about Jesus' life and times, have you had a one one one encounter with him?

If yes, what makes you sure that you dealt with him first hand?

Mind sharing your experience(s)?
Evidences are collections of experiences. They cant be ignored in a flash. i recommended that book, not cos i want to prove a point over you. But to let you see through what someone with your kind of experience went through, etc. i strongly recommend it again pls. May be taken as 2018 project. I wont be able to share my own experience now. I gladly want to know however, what, why the bible you believed on went to the negative side. God affirmed Jesus is His ONLY begotten Son,etc. Any good reaso why youre yet to react2 that?

If there's a nagging question on your mind you feel I have not answered, please bring me up to speed again.

I expect us to have a civil conversation, not one that's rife with subtle backbiting, judgementalism, and "my religion is better than yours" shenanigans. I do not want my feelings getting hurtgrincheesy

Dearie, you should also know that presently, I am not aligned to any known religion. Meaning I live by my own 'religious' ideologies and thoughts. I do not identify myself with any religious sect or belief.

I usually stay away from conversations that put my belief in the spotlight, especially seeing as I am neither here nor there (which I have no qualms with btw).

But for you, and for reasons known best to me, I will make an exception smiley
ok, lets work by that then. unintentional if it seemed like spotlighting you. apologies.

Hmm! These questions are a must for anyone who claims to be saved. There must be a story accompanying every Salvation that happened. Not the kind that one parents are christians, saved, then the kid(s) automatically become christian. That's professing, not confessing!! Nice one
