We must wean ourselves of this dependence on Chinese products as if we can't produce them. We will get excise in return for their importation but they're like a drop in the ocean compared to the revenues from exports. |
This is a trap for Atiku. As far as I can tell, the only saving grace for Atiku is diplomatic immunity which he can only get by becoming president or vice president, etc. Aside that, if he should enter the US, it's a straight arrest for him. They said there's no case currently in court about him - meaning the case has not been instituted yet. Read between the lines. |
Nigeria has eggheads, no doubt, and Mimiko is one of them, aside Oby, Ngozi, Soludo, Sanusi Lamido, etc. But what's setting us back is our current structure that encourages corruption, laziness and unproductiveness. Mimiko did a lot of great work, according to those who know Ondo State, including foreign aid organisations. |
APC is sponsoring different presidential candidates across parties to weaken the vote blocs of the opposition - though I don't know if she could be one. But, fortunately, it'll boomerang, because for the first time, the presidential election will likely go into a rerun (not supplementary like Osun). And and and....PDP might just carry the day. |
henryadex:. ![]() I can't help but laugh at this your post. Firstly, it sounds very funny as I read and visualised it and secondly, no single full stop. You try. ![]() |
Why couldn't this man have given someone to help him compose the tweet rather than this disjointed, grammatically inept tweet we're seeing ?Atiku's chances of winning the election as at this moment is 45%. As campaign begin properly, many people who are currently not yet decided on who to vote for, will do, just as some will also decide to vote for Buhari. It seem like those who'll vote Buhari have already made up their mind unlike Atiku who'll continue to attract dissidents and protestor voters from north, south, west and east. |
Will Atiku be a Fulani hegemonist like Buhari who has concentrated security appointments (nearly all security heads are either Hausa or Fulani)? Most likely no. Will he steal unlike Buhari? Yes. Will he bribe National Assembly to have a smooth sail unlike Buhari? Yes. Will he fight corruption? EFCC chairman under him will attempt to do so, but there'll be several compromises and APC will be crying foul up and down. ![]() Will he be a lively president who knows his duties and do them without locking himself in Asorock while his deputy does local travels for him, but never misses London, Washington, Hague, and other countries? Yes |
The lady says Atiku has a new toy, but the OP captured it as Buhari, thereby trying to infer that Atiku is Buhari's toy. What sort of nonsense is that? Had Tambuwal, Saraki or Makarfi won, Asorock would have held a secret all night party to celebrate Buhari's 2019 victory, but this is a shocker to them. Obviously this thing didn't go down the way APC had hoped it'd. But I'm still weighing whom I should support amongst these two bad choices...without PVC. ![]() |
If I were Lalasticlala I'd put a hold on bringing all these unverified character assassination threads to the front page. It seem to me like that there's a calculated campaign to discredit Fela by the media team of Gbenga Hashim. Nowhere in the thread did the OP give details about the so-called court suit it mentioned in the headline. It's Fela we've been hearing all this while since the beginning of the year; just for Gbenga to jump onto the stage at the middle of the night to start throwing tantrums and unverified news and accusations on Fela. He might even be the mole planted by the APC. The content of a thread and its source should be checked first before they're taken to the front page, because by being on FP, the managers of Nairaland have taken responsibility to vouch for their authenticity and they could be sued by aggrieved people and won easily in the court. |
Fake news evidenced by so many grammatical errors like "fine themselves in jail" "rig by", etc. More than 50% of threads on this section have a different content from their headlines, and most times they're pushed to FP like that without being vetted by the admins. |
And their minimum wage is $243 while ours is $50. And they have uninterrupted power supply while Aso Rock uses diesel generator. And their railway service compares favourably with European and Asian standard while we are just starting to get serious with ours. And.... |
I have mentioned Seun countless times about this same issue. But I think, recently there has been direct action on this which can be seen by the huge number of deleted posts one sees nowadays on this board. I think one of the solutions rests on having more mods; I can't imagine that Myynd44 is only person moderating this board. |
So Rochas actually wanted to go and kidnap this man in his hotel room, the reason his govt released a statement saying they went to look for him in his hotel room but didn't see him. ![]() See desperation of the highest level. |
Is Nairaland confused or what? How come for some time now, a single story with different original posters now reaches the front page at least twice nowadays? This story was on FP this morning, Jide later disowned it and now it's coming back to FP. This is awful. Cc Seun. |
Yambee:Because you couldn't produce any rational point to counter my comment. |
Yambee:Everyone is free to take sides, but try and do that objectively. Were you there when he ordered his supporters to slap anybody before they left their various homes? Fear God and stop making silly comments just to push your support for his opponent. The APC chairman said the plastic cards newly arrived but here you're claiming he left it somewhere whilst been angry. |
Jothamthompson:Keep on using Glo and sending a single tweet four times, then come back to tell us they constitute Lagosians blasting Sanwo-olu. ![]() |
TonyeBarcanista:You've no single ounce of political ideology or allegiance. From APC to PDP to ADP. From championing Makarfi's shot at presidency then suddenly abandoning him to start singing the praise of Udom and creating endless threads to whitewash his re-election bid, you've shown yourself to be very unreliable and unstable and a political neophyte. Since yesterday, you've been backing Tinubu while you should be concerned about how these APC misunderstandings can play to your party's success in Lagos. I hope you don't accidentally become an elected politician tomorrow while you still display these awful characters, because it'll be disasters. |
Imagine the millions of naira Nairaland would have been making every day during this electioneering period, if not for mediocrity. A lot of these stories will have been paid adverts, but Seun is comfortable seeing this website as a kindergarten project. No comment on this thread. I'm saddened how Seun has abandoned this multibillion naira venture that should have had at least 1000 workers in its employ. |
I hope that before 2023 elections, the national Assembly will have made a law to mandate direct primary as the sole mode of choosing candidates for election. The amount of monies the aspirants waste bribing these delegates will be spent on campaign expenses from ward to ward convincing ordinary party members, like we see it being done in other climes like the US. |
It's good seeing that the governor is making a little thrust, no matter how late it may appear. Battle of the master and his trainee. Who blinks first? Can Ambode win if there are no rigging in this primary election? The answer is no. The level of grassroots campaign done by Jide in the past few weeks whilst Ambode was running helter-skelter trying to appease Tinubu is enough to get Jide the ticket. |
madridguy:You wanna tell me you don't know he's the same person as Omenka? It's clear to the blind he's, just as FarahAideed is Salam.Rushdie and Cilic.marin is ngeneukwenu, etc. OK, you know now. |
NwaAmaikpe:You always try to bring sex into a topic even when it has zilch relation with it. That says a lot about how sexually deviant you're as a person. No vex; just an observation. Life and pleasure is not all about sex, Mr man. |
Wow! Manufactured result. When PDP raised alarm that APC's purpose for direct election was to make it a prelude for rigging, many of us bashed them, but we now see they were right. As much as I prefer Buhari to win the election, I must condemn it if they want to achieve it through rigging. When I read earlier this morning that they said they have 1.7mn registered members in Lagos, it became clear this people's desperation had taken a new phase. Anyway thank God for electronic card readers. midolian:IGNORED. |
Must the mods include that two pilots died in the headline? Let me not assume it's Lalasticlala . Nairaland's obsession with death, accident and violence threads is disgusting. ![]() |
The level of desperation demonstrated by both sides was over the top. But this is so clear that what took place today wasn't an election. I'm not a PDP sympathiser, but I see them winning this case in court effortlessly. I'm sure that even Oyetola himself is not as happy as those congratulating him, because he knows his opponent won it. |
Fukafuka:Grow up, man and begin making sensible comments like others are doing and stop these senseless posting and reposting of same memes over and over again. |
