alBHAGDADI:Can you imagine! This is another MrPresident1 no doubt. They are very zealous for the work of God and but they deny His way. They can open endless threads to "fight for God", but they deny very basic biblical principles. What a deception. MrPresident1:Bros, I'm not judging you. Your own character is already a judge for you. The way you insult others here and still claim to know every mystery in the Bible clearly shows you out who you really are - a false prophet. I'm sorry if you find that hard, but that's the truth. |
There's nothing in that sauceless defence to convince anyone that it didn't take place. Mr Ibu may have put a call through to her to put up a defence for him on Instagram. |
chiefolododo:I'm not, bro. |
iammo:I don't know exactly what you mean by him opening books on Fashola. If you're referring to 2015 borehole and website scandal, it was/is clear that it was Tinubu who asked him to do that to prevent Fashola from being chosen by Buhari into his cabinet. And for the PSP saga, I think Ambode may have noticed blatant corruption for him to have ordered termination of the contract purportedly been run by Lagos APC henchmen. |
chiefolododo:Lol. Not important, but I'm from one of the other 200+ tribes. |
bodejohn:The article says 'born into a Christian family', but is he still a Christian? |
iammo:No one is saying Muslims should be discouraged from contesting against Ambode because he's a Christian. No! If Ambode's relationship with Tinubu was still OK and 5 Muslims declared their interest to vie against him, no one would have complained. But it's a different thing now. |
BabaRamota1980:See how you people on Nairaland have turned Nigeria into a country strictly composed of Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba! So sad. Nigeria is way bigger than these three tribes please. Anybody who says "negative" things about Buhari is termed Igbo. And those who make critical statements about Igbos or Biäfra are also termed Yoruba or Hausa. The rest of the over 200 tribes are not on Nairaland, I guess? |
BabaRamota1980:I can't see any yet. Please tell me what you think they are. |
meolaniyi:But when the president was a Christian twice - Obasanjo and Jonathan - Muslims were also governors of Lagos. So where's your logic? |
Why did Tinubu not bring up Christians instead, as a form of balance? Why should the two contenders for Ambode's place, Jide Sanwo-olu and Femi Hamzat, be Muslims? |
I do not know the population ratio of the two dominant religions in Lagos, but it's very probable that the current feud between Ambode and Tinubu will soon assume a religious theme. Tinubu is a Muslim and ruled for 8 years likewise Fashola and now Ambode, a Christian, is being boxed into a corner and almost on the verge of not making a return to the government house. If any of the two aspirants who are rumoured to being backed by Tinubu was a Christian, no one would have raised an eyebrow. But they are both Muslims! When this disagreement gets to a head, the talking point will be that Lagos Christians are being marginalised. You can't take away the place of religion in politics - worldwide it plays significant role. For example, in America, most presidential candidates are vigorously questioned by the media about their Christian religion leaning during campaign. Religion is still a serious issue in American politics and no one downplays it. Trump won in 2016, in part, due to the cordial relationship he cultivated with the Evangelicals and how much those Evangelical pastors supported him, in return for various pro-Israel and -Christian concessions and promises he made to them - a bulk of which he has now fulfilled. |

Legolast:It's very easy; just click "Quote" on my previous post and see how I structured it. The tag [img][/img] should not have space in between them aside the link of the image. You'll have to search for the image first from Google, etc, and then copy its link. |
Officiallysocal:Very informative; thank you. Your threads are always educating but the way you post photos spoil the broth. So I'll suggest you post a single picture against its heading to make it more catchy and understandable, instead of packing up the pictures at the end of the article. Like this: 1. That this so-called good governor neither want direct primary nor indirect primary speaks volumes of how much he knows he doesn't have popular support. If not why should a. Yeye consensus candidature exist in democracy when there are contestants who are interested in slogging it out in a contest. This is very undemocratic and 'stupidious'. ![]() |
And to know that this man has a doctoral degree or at least was awarded one honorarily sends shivers down my spine. It's still backward African countries like Nigeria and now Tanzania that see large population as something to be proud of. What's the pride in being the most populous Black nation on earth with poverty, hunger, lack of power and no underground train stations, etc, and you don't even have a voice in the international scene? Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Canada, South Korea, etc - why are these countries a great nation today? Why are they a force to be reckoned with? Large population size? There's no prize for such - if only there were, I'd be happy seeing that Nigeria takes such prize money every month or year. ![]() |
Who didn't know it was all a ruse and scam? Even if the politician - be it governor, the president or senator is not directly behind it, the aides of such politician are the culprits. I suspect some of them, the money used were even sourced from govt purse and then channeled to those people's account for onward Nollywood show. And this should be a serious electoral fraud. But who wields the axe?! |
As a practicing Christian, I can't listen to Fela. The message his songs are passing across - exposing crooked politicians and how the citizens ought to resist them - is good. But the conduit is polluted; I can't imagine watching a video of his song and seeing him being swarm by innumerable ladies while he smokes weed to the praise of Satan. No. No. No. ollah2:I don't listen to any of those singers. They're not different from Fela. |
I won't be surprised if some members of the cabal have told him to divert those monies to special accounts to process Buhari's campaign expenses. |
How would I think that this is how carpets are cleaned in the Villa? It doesn't make sense, because no one uses broom to sweep their carpets/rugs nowadays - the dusts can't be swept away using brooms. It's clear that carpet that has been cleaned using vacuum cleaner and someone noticed some specks of dusts on it and needed to use the broom. |
There's nothing glorious about these defections - from PDP to APC or vice versa. This should be tantamount to political treason - but our political life is so jaundiced that laws are not followed even where they exist to curb excesses. My own concern is that Buhari should reign in on Ganduje so that he doesn't turn Kano state into a blood field with the way he's going about his feuds with Kwankwaso. Every political rally nowadays features thousands of cudgel wielding-hunters to scare Kwankwaso supporters. https://i0.wp.com/insidearewa.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/img_20180130_171615-1424742594.jpg This is a great anarchy waiting to blow up if not nipped in the bud. IPOB have started their propaganda again. It was this same propaganda and lies that botched what would have succeeded at least in making IPOB a voice in the South East. The exercise has barely started and you're already talking about "atrocities". NIGHTMARE0O7:This is what you tribal jingoists have turned Nairaland into - to all of you everyone who comments here is either Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba. Lame reasoning. Nigeria is bigger than these three tribes. |
It happened a few days ago and they've been arraigned already! Very good. That's how the police ought to do their job, not bundling hundreds of suspects to jail and unnecessarily increasing the prison population for many years to come when those rioters could be convicted within 2 weeks and given a jail term of three months and they resume normal life. Our judges need to start reading news stories about how judges in developed countries handle cases like this, concluding trials within 1 week, sometimes, within a day! |
I was thinking of this two. The law says no single person or group can donate to a candidate the sum of more than N1m. But sadly, we don't obey electoral laws in Nigeria. If we do, many election riggers and thug sponsors who are currently govs would be in jail. |
NgeneUkwenu:Is it that it's so hard for Seun and "his team of programmers" to flag and delete tribal slurs like 'pig', 'afonja', 'zombie', 'skull miners', etc, from this website? It's as if there are no limits to what you can say on this platform. So so awful and poor. It's as if Seun sees no reason in doing very concrete things to stem the tide of hate comments on Nairaland. Do we know how many people have been tracked down and murdered because of their hate posts here? We don't, unfortunately. Do we know how many have been arrested secretly without ever knowing their crimes were the horrendous hate posts they make on Nairaland? Seun, pls do better than you're currently doing. Pls. |
Kai! What kind of facial expression is this? A little child would scream for mummy if he sees this photo o. ![]() |
Mrs Oby always seem to be against loan collection. Can a government do without taking loans? It's impossible; some countries' debts are only smaller than the others - none is not in debt. I'm not economics savvy, but I know what's important to be wary of when increasing your debts is to avoid taking loans whose repayments period is low, loans with exorbitant interest rates, and of course, make sure that you've done your homework that your current credit ratings is strong enough to wade off defaulting. The US is the most indebted nation today, but also has the most powerful economy and military strength - the two go hand-in-hand. Even China we're getting loans from, also has national debts and so has Russia. |
It seems seems this man doesn't know the police can call you for questioning, speak to you in a VIP-way and allow you go home unknown to you they'll raid your home in a commando-like style the following day. ![]() His use of the pen is out of decency and he ought to be convicted for incitement to violence and speech terrorism. ![]() |
Though every state governor claims to be turning their state into London , Amosun's own is verifiable. His strides can be seen around the state, especially the capital. If not for the unfortunate reason that a bulk of Nigerian politicians are looters, there's actually nothing wrong in staying in governance for up to 15 years as far as your constituents continue to see you as worthy of representation. In the US, there are senators who have been in Congress for at least 30 years, but their difference from ours is that both the primary and main elections are direct - making the whole electorate to continuously have a say on who represents them and the possibility of bribing voters nearly non-existent. |
Fake and arranged defections. As far as any unbiased mind can process, Kwankwaso will win Buhari in Kano if he finally gets the PDP ticket. In fact, in the whole of the north West, it may likely be 52-48 win for him. He's that popular. |
Very true. The only person who commands crowd more than Buhari in the north is Kwankwaso. I have yet to know if the Kwankwassiyya group has any written political ideology guiding it, but I must confess it's a fantastic group. Cult followership isn't healthy, but sometimes people just have it and you're left wondering 'how come?' |

sentiments apart, Ambode should face his party in the direct primaries. enough of all silly excuses. Should he be given automatic ticket because he is Christian, or should Muslims with the money to buy nomination forms and aspire for the seat, step down for him?
