KarmaMod:
autism is one of the few that you can't find during gestation BECAUSE it shows up around age 3 and majority of the cases have to do with mercury immunization.

If a woman find out that she's pregnant with a kid that will eventually has problems, she has the right to terminate it without people looking down on the person. The same people doing the put downs and all that WONT be there to help the mother out if she goes ahead and keeps it
turns out these are loose associations. There is no evidence that mercury is solely responsible for autism.

Romance › Re: How Did You Handle That "NO" by DavidDylan(m): 11:55pm On Nov 09, 2008
I've never had to handle a "no" before but i know close friends who have. Most guys dont spend the time to be good friends with the girl they are asking out in the first instance - if you took the time to know her and you both are mature enough to handle it, some girls will give you a good idea why they are saying no. Perhaps she has someone else, or she's not interested in dating at the moment, or she doesnt think you both are a good fit.

It is important to know why she said no so you dont make the same mistake with someone else.

Before you even ask a girl out - ask yourself if you can sense she has some attraction to you.

Body language . . . guys.

If a girl will say no, it shld be apparent to you even before you ask. The only time i heard "no", it took me only 20 mins to get her to change her mind because i knew she wanted to say yes but needed her concerns addressed first.

If you do ur homework very well, you should reduce the number of times you hear the dreaded "no".

you're assuming the girl's grammar is any better. Most likely he's attracted to a girl just as poor as he is.

@ topic, look to carry on some general conversation and see if you still like her after a few minutes. Sometimes women arent always what they seem to be.

This man is a disgusting hypocrite! grin

Now lets turn this around a bit . . .

Before the quran/mohammed/allah can admit that the bible is erroneous, they must have in hand what is correct, in order to make such a bold/false/deceitful/ claim. How did they arrive at the "errors" in the bible? Where is the original bible they used to make such a comparison?

even David, (whom we all know grin) found sense in Tasma's post. But you still find a bone to pick from it. Girl, chill, you've got issues!
Abeg no use my name to score points o grin

this is about as far as i agree with Tasma's post and it is succintly put here -
Errors in translation and asking that portions of scripture be not present in the Bible are not the same things. These two distinctions should not be difficult to see, no?
The bible tells us - the letter killeth but it is the spirit that gives life. the bible is not meant to be read as a literary exercise but as God's silent voice to the soul that is guided by the Holy Ghost.

Here is my belief:

- Is the bible inspired by God - YES!

- Does it contain possible errors in transcribing, translation, copying e.t.c . ? - YES!

- Do those "errors" nullify the spiritual import of the bible? - Only if u're desperately looking for an excuse not to believe anyway.

I stumbled on a movie with pretty good reviews - Traumatized . . .

Well turns out i'm the one being traumatized here, overly long adverts, film starts with a lot of unintelligible noise making, some kid is obviously trying to kill herself with a kitchen knife after being "raped" by a mystery guy . . . how he escaped outa the house without being seen is another movie on its own.
Is the camera being used to shoot the movie a camcoder? undecided

Ok noise is over, the "raped" chic (who happens to be fully clothed) has stopped crying, movie about to start . . . hopefully i can soldier on and see this to a logical conclusion.

Someone help me out here, i'm on a quest to locate nollywood's best movies.
I've heard "letters from a stranger" is the rave of the moment but i thot it was too weepy and boring. Has anyone seen some outstanding movies lately? Surely there must be one or two.

What do you think about Lancelot Imasuen's movies? I happen to think he's the best director out there . . . and there's Emem Isong too.

Here goes nothing . . . Nollywood lovers . . . thanks for helping a patriotic brother.

How?

There are 3 blanks for instance, if you have 2 infront of glucose then you have 12 carbon atoms to account for on the left side of the equation.

If u put 2 on both blanks on the right you only account for 6 carbon atoms.

<<snip>> oops sorry, i figured it out now. 2;2 is correct.

Stop hating David. Tuesday night a barrier was broken for not only America but for blacks and for countries around the world. America is the most powerful country and like it or not what goes down in America affects the enitre world. Just look at what has been happening due to the recent financial crisis in America. People are ready for a change and a new day and Obama represents the fulfillment of a dream. I thought it was wonderful to see other countries celebrating it is time for positivity and uniting not throwing salt. Obama is the first balck man to lead not only America but he is the first to lead any first world country and that is powerful.
I'm not hating . . . it has taken us this long because we have consistently given the rest of the world concrete reason to have negative attitutides about us. It is no accident that the poorest nations on earth are virtually ALL black countries.
Obama is merely a symbol of what American ingenuity can achieve . . . He is NOT a product of black Africa or black America . . . he is a product of a system that rewards success.

Should Obama fail, it will make it doubly harder for a black man to be elected president of the US. Bush will be judged as an individual, Obama's failures will be more than enough excuse for the rest of the world to label the black race perenial underachievers.

Chrisbenogor:
You believe some of you chosen ones were born saved, while we were born condemned
You seem to be either confused or deliberately decietful. With all your time spent on this section i cant believe you can lay this false charge at me. I dont believe such nonsense because the bible again is clear - Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

There is no one born saved, all of us are born condemned . . . but by grace are some (sadly not ALL) saved.

Chrisbenogor:
God likes you too much and hates the rest of us
I'm sorry to tell you that this is very correct . . . it is not pride . . .

again the bible is VERY clear . . .

- Ps 7:11 God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

- Unless you repent of your iniquity, you are condemned already.

Chrisbenogor:
I don't give two swings of jlo's ass cheeks what your God wants to do if he kills people without reason, he might still punish me for what my Great grand father's sister's first born son did, so why bother?
That's a lie - again the bible is VERY clear . . .

Ez 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

Chrisbenogor:
What amazes me is how you think you have escaped that fate. Lol
I dont need to think . . . the bible says God loves the righteous and His ears are open unto their cry.

You can falsely accuse me of pride till next week, political correctness and pandering to the seared hearts of the wicked in the hope of trying to appear religious is not my forte. The bible is plain before you, you have a choice to reject it . . . curse God and when you die go wherever you pls.

@david
You are as proud as peacocks come, I doubt if you will even pass into your heaven by your christian standards. Why are all your contributions laced with such venom, as if God made you his personal aide on nairaland.
You believe some of you chosen ones were born saved, while we were born condemned, God likes you too much and hates the rest of us, you forgot to add catholics to the list, and pastor chris and many others.
I don't give to swings of jlo's ass what your God wants to do if he kills people without reason, he might still punish me for what my Great grand father's sister's first born son did so why bother. What amazes me is how you think you have escaped that fate. Lol
Misplaced emotions.

The bible is clear - do not cast your pearls before swine.

The bible is clear - Matthew 10:14 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. 15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

The bible is clear - 1 Tim 1:4 Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith: so do.

The bible is clear - Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Chrisbenogor - there is no pride here (that seems to be ur cop-out these days) . . . the bible is clear, there is precious little to be achieved "arguing" with people like you who foam in the mouth about a "wicked" God u're not even sure exists.

is Sisi Jinx a man in disguise? shocked She broke it down so well.

Sisi Jinx:
Let him be, give him space. . . Let him know you are there for him without being all up in his face. Sometimes love can be stifling and it really doesn't conquer all. . . So you going "I love you, do you love me? Talk to me! Why won't you talk to me? Blah, Blah, Blah" when he is trying to figure things. . . real honest to goodness issues like how to pay the rent and whatnot, isn't going to help much. That's why he'd rather hang out with his friends because they won't yapping in his ears all day long and sighing all over the place like long suffering matyrs. . . Jeez!

I hope that helped. smiley
i had to highlight the above because i have been through it before and to be honest that was a deal breaker for me. Men dont want to verbalise their every thought, when you go on like that you come off as whinny, overly needy and annoying. If i'm not married to you the likelihood i would be willing to spend the rest of my life with you is already very slim . . . imagine having to wake up to that every morning . . . the horrors!

Keep quiet, give the guy his space but let him know you care in subtle ways. He'll come round and trust me, you'll be the first person he wants to talk to when he's fine.

Oh Monica wondered why men prefer to talk to their friends - well because our friends know when we just need an ear rather than a lecture.

RichyBlacK:
Exactly! But the teachers can't tell who will fail and who wouldn't, however, they sure do know the right answers to every question!

My view:
God gave man freewill to choose whatever he wants to do. God knows the result of every action we take but He cannot predict a priori what man will choose to do. I know some may disagree because it sounds ridiculous to use "God" and "cannot" in the same sentence, but that seems to be the only explanation. Even in the Bible, God "regretted" creating man; regret is attributed to disappointment, and to disappoint is "to fail to satisfy the hope, desire, or expectation of".

Genesis 6:5-6 (Amplified Bible)
5 The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination and intention of all human thinking was only evil continually.
6 And the Lord regretted that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved at heart.

For those who disagree, I'll be the first to confess that religion is not my forte, so please teach me, I'm all ears and willing to learn. Biko, don't insult me, abeg. Thanks.
you have captured my own view in a nutshell.
