banku:What do you know about the Iwo Eleru or the conclusion the white scientist made about the Iwo Eleru skull? They found a skull believed to be 13,000 years old and after analyzing the skull they decided that early inhabitants of that area where the skull came from where not humans, rather more like apes.. So I guess you can be proud that your ancestors are confirmed apes and monkeys.. Also having the oldest artifact doesn't mean you are greater or more civilized than other races or kingdoms around you.. There are artifacts older than British Empire but yet it was one of the greatest empire ever.. If you like continue to claim oldest artifact, it still doesn't change the fact that Benin Kingdom was more powerful and mightier than all your Yoruba kingdoms.. Almost every tribe in Nigeria was influenced by Benin Kingdom, we influence their culture, their monarchies.. How many Yoruba fit influence? None!! |
HajimeSaito:Edos are international players. Yorubas are local champions. If there are 1 million Edo prostitutes, there will be 10 million Yoruba prostitutes. And Yoruba men are confirmed gays.. |
Obalufon:You didn’t civilize anybody. You couldn’t even civilize or organize yourselves properly. Edo people were regarded as the most civilize and advanced West Africans and you know that fact. As for clothing culture nobody cares who was the first people to weave cloths, doesn’t mean you were great, it’s just a skill. Many great empires borrow skills from other cultures incorporate it into their culture and become great with it. What did the excavation at Ife result in? Only few bronze heads and 3 calabash pots lol. Do u know why there was no screaming headlines about that excavation?? They got nothing special lol. Benin Empire was a greater empire than all Yoruba kingdoms.. that is a fact!! |
Obalufon:Naked.. animals.. nasty ass.. the white man’s rethorics about Africans.. you can continue to display ur enslavement and training by ur white masters. You are exceptional because you are a race of sellouts. You are special to your Fulanis and white masters because you are their slaves and easily used to promote their agenda against fellow brave Africans. You can continue to scream your frustration and hatred and tell lies but it doesn’t change the fact that Great Benin conquered and ruled your race. That is a generally acknowledged fact. |
Obalufon:Yet the primitive people conquered and ruled most of your people. The primitive people are described as the most advanced and civilized people in west Africa.. do you know that it was acknowledged by the Europeans that if the Europeans hadn’t partitioned and conquered Africa, the Yoruba lands and people were about to be shared by Benin kingdom, Dahomey kingdom and the Fulanis. That was how weak the Europeans saw Yorubas. |
Obalufon:did you do the research? I dont know where the people come from, but their rulers trace their ancestry to Benin kingdom. go research and find out.. |
Obalufon:You guys are the ones obsessed about Benin, its not the other way round.. We have talked about conquering each of these tribes you mentioned but you don't see them shouting and ranting like you Yorubas.. Probably it is because they understand that it was all in the past, so why argue about a past that is gone? But you Yorubas being a petty people cannot let go.. The reason we conquered you guys so easily and vastly is because of your pettiness and disunity among your people.. |
HajimeSaito:I don't know which tribe you are but definitely your tribe have thousands of their women hawking their bodies too and some doing free of charge.. prostitution is a general thing among all races on earth.. and since Yorubas and Igbos have more population, more of their women are prostitutes.. |
Obalufon:Idiot, only the King of Dahomey traces his lineage to Benin.. I know it is hard for you to comprehend but it is the truth.. You can research all this claim and you will surely find articles relating to each of these claims.. But why are the Yorubas soooo jealous of the Edos?? |
Obalufon:Who really cares about clothing culture?? The British copied culture from people they conquered and incorporated it into their culture. It doesn’t mean those people are greater than the British. You can remain shallow and be shouting clothing culture, fact remains Benin kingdom conquered Yorubas. Maybe we got the clothing culture from you after we conquered and whooped your asses.. |
Obalufon:You are the fool and very shallow. What is clothing culture? Is civilization based on clothing culture? Are u trying to say Africans were naked till Yoruba invented the so called clothing culture?? You are really an idiot. All your arguments so far has been Yoruba gave Benin oba. Is that how you measure Yoruba greatness by giving Benin oba?? We Edos measure our greatness by our conquests, imperial expansions, territories we colonized, vassal states we subdued, cities we founded and our resistance to European imperialism.. You small Yorubas can keep saying u gave great Benin an Oba or started clothing culture it however doesn’t change the fact you are a weaker race compared to the Edo people and Yoruba kingdoms were weaker than Mighty Benin Kingdom. |
gregyboy:I dont know if Yoruba arts have any realism about it.. They only have few bronze heads and that is what they keep shouting as great art works.. The unique thing about Benin arts is that it is just not only art works but it also tells stories.. It is like a documentation of Benin history. The art works represents historical events and encounters in Benin History, some tell of different Obas and their achievements, while some represent religious festivals and dieties.. It is this uniqueness of the Benin arts and what they represents that has the world in awe of Benin art works.. Since we could not write on paper, we told our stories in our art works. This is one reason Benin was described has the most civilized and advanced Kingdom in West Africa. Yoruba art works represent nothing. The only thing you will hear about it will be what type of material was used or what date it was made.. nothing else.. I don't know for certain between the two races who first started making art work, but Benin was better at it. |
banku:Which academic proof? Is it the ones written by Yoruba revisionists? If you Yorubas had any pride you would stop claiming that Benin/Bini is Yoruba.. The people totally rejects Yoruba and have been rejecting Yoruba since beginning of time.. so why can't you guys have pride and stop saying that? Is it because Yoruba have no legacy or great history so you turn to Mighty and glorious Benin as yours? You guys are really laughable.. |
banku:Oba of Lagos said he is a Benin man, Obi of Onitsha said he is a Benin man, Osemawe of Ondo said he is a Benin man, Eze of Oguta said he is a Benin man, Eze of Enugu Ezike said he is a Benin man, Olu of warri said he is a Benin man, Ovwie of Okere( Urhobo) Kingdom said he is a Benin man, Obi of Isele Ukwu said he is a Benin man, Obi of Agbo said he is a Benin man, The king of Ibuza said he is a Benin man, Orodje of Okpe said he is a Benin man, The Dukes of Oleh and Ozoro( both of Isoko) said they are from Benin, Udezi( Deji) of akure said he is a Benin man, The Dukes of Ikwerre said they are Benin men, The King of Ogbia Kingdom said he is a Benin man, The paramount ruler of dahomeans in Republic of Benin said he is a Benin man. These are major traditional rulers in southern Nigeria and beyond and yet some dare open their mouth to denigrate Benin history and even call Edo people a minority stock when history and cultural evidence show Edo is the largest ethnic group in Nigeria until it was decimated and adulterated by the sinister manipulations of the colonialist and their in-house collaborators (Yorubas). |
banku:All this your lies (or even if it should be true) doesn't change the generally acknowledged truth that Benin Kingdom was a more powerful and mightier kingdom than all Yoruba kingdoms up till the end of the 19th century when it was finally defeated by the British Empire.. So u can twist stories, tell lies even say u gave us Oba, but still Benin Kingdom ruled over Eastern Yoruba and more powerful than all Yoruba kingdoms.. |
Christistruth00:The evidence you should worry about is that from the earliest records of West African history up till the time of British occupation, Benin Kingdom was acknowledge by all as a more Powerful and Mightier kingdom than all Yoruba kingdoms.. abi na lie?? |
Obalufon:Your Ife art is only one head.. That is all you can boast of, compared to Benin thousands of art works.. You guys are laughable.. |
Christistruth00:Shut up your lies.. Ogedengbe exploit in Benin happened before he joined in the fight against Ibadan.. You don't know your history.. Ogedengbe didnt happen in 1878.. it happened around 1848. He fled when he head General Ebohon was marching on him. and for your information, it was Benin Kingdom that helped Eastern Yorubas fight in their Ekiti kparapo wars.. Benin supplied most guns and canons to the Ekiti fighters and our warriors fought actively in the war.. and you know why? Because we were protecting our interests in Eastern Yoruba which was mostly under Benin control.. Go study your history properly again. |
Christistruth00:It is okay for you to celebrate your Ogedengbe since that is the only hero Yorubas can boast of in all of your history. However stop lying about Ogedengbe exploits in Benin Kingdom. He staged a surprise invasion into Benin territory and when Benin knew he was given a choice (either stay and fight Benin army or flee and be spared) and he fled so as not to face confrontation from the Benin army. Below is message sent to Ogedengbe while Benin army was approaching. "Oba sent a parcel of red sand, stony sand and gunpowder to Ogedengbe as ‘’aroko’’. "Look at this red sand, If the land on which you are standing is red, you are in Edo/Benin territory. Also, Gun powder means war, sand means leave the Edo/Benin lands and return to your stony land of Ilesha and fight the Ibadans. We will not attack you if you heed advice and we shall support your fight with Ibadan’’. Your Ogedengbe choose sand and left Benin territory. On another note, Ogedengbe invasion into Benin Territory was around 1848.. It was around this period Benin Kingdom was fighting wars in Eastern Yoruba lands, and few years before Ogedengbe exploits Benin had captured Akure and beheaded your Deji.. So it is suprising that it is the same Mighty Benin you guys are thinking Ogedenbge could defeat in battle? "Every town or village under him (Ewi) except Ijan were prepared to fight…The Benin soldiers stormed Igbara-Odo and Ilawe and took them. At this time, Ado town had been vacated. Aroloye took the people to a place called Oke Oko Axis between Ifaki and Iworoko. Most of the gods Ado worshipped on that side: Olua at Eyio, Obanifon at Esure and Are, Ogbese and Orisala at Iworoko. The soldiers pitched their camps near Uyin (Iyin)…Ogbesi Okun, the then Oluyin …was conquered and killed. They proceeded to Igede, Awo and Esure and took them. The inhabitants of Igede then uder Okiribiti were driven in a north-easternly direction to a place called Oke Asha…Edo troops then marched to Iworoko…The soldiers entered Are…The same fate befell Afao. They were all taken to Ikere. The soldiers moved to Igbemo …entered Igbo-Omoba (now Ilu-Omoba)…The soldiers left Aisegba for Agbado and without delay took it and evacuated the people. Agbado was the last place under the Ewi. With the conquest, of Agbado, the soldiers seemed to have finished their job…’ Ewi Aroloye (1808-1836) who reigned at Ado but were attacked successively by Benin hordes…‘During the reign of Ewi Aroloye, Ado-Ewi’s kingdom witnessed massive dislocation across the terrain as town dwellers and villagers ran for safety in different directions. Many of the captives from Iworoko, Are, Afao, Ugboomoba (now Ilumoba) and Agbado were taken to Ukere by Benin invaders’." |
Moneywomen17:The only Yoruba art you guys keep showing is just the ife head.. If that is the only art you guys can talk about then you don;t have to be proud of anything. Edo has thousands of arts worldwide, you guys singing about only one head?? I bet who ever is appreciating your art will be tired of appreciating one piece of art work.. Fact remains, nobody knows about Yoruba art.. |

You seem like a dumb person.. before you post any link or info do u try to verify it? First Oba Akenzua 1 reigned in the 1700s.. and also Oba Akenzua 11 is not in that picture sitting with your useless Yoruba Obas.. try to google Oba Akenzua 11 picture and look for him in your stupid picture.. |
Christistruth00:Which Ogedengbe? Please Ogedengbe was a coward.. He only raided villages on Benin Northern borders and fled when he was informed of an approaching Benin Army.. The only reason he succeeded in raiding those villages was due to slow method of communication at that time.. before message could get to Benin and an army sent to confront him he had raided a few villages.. Ogedengbe was given a choice by the advancing Benin army.. Stay and fight or leave before the Benin Army gets to his position and if he leaves they won't pursue him.. he took the deal and fled.. Why he no wait?"? I know it will make sense to you Yorubas that Benin that was never defeated in battle can be defeated my small Ogedengbe.. You people should stop deceiving yourselves.. I know u guys are pained that Benin is seen worldwide as a greater and mightier empire than all Yoruba kingdoms.. |
gregyboy:Thank you bro for a very enlightening piece. I have asked them same question before when they said Aworis invited Benin. Why would the Aworis bypass all the Yorubas kingdoms and come to Benin? Even if it is true that Aworis came to Benin for help then doesn’t that proves Benin was a mightier, more powerful kingdom than all the Yorubas kingdoms and the Aworis must have seen Benin conquer and ruling over Yoruba lands hence it came to Benin for help. The problem with the Yorubas is that no matter how much they lie and twist the truth their stories will always work against them and show that Benin was more powerful than Yoruba and ruled over the Yorubas. |
Moorish:All kingdoms become powerful through economic and military.. before contact with Europeans all African kingdoms were not the same.. Benin was powerful economically and military.. the others were just there. |
Olu317:U call moneywoman “my dear”.. is this moneywoman person a man, woman or transgender? You yorubas are weird, gays and transgender Na normal for una.. |
Moneywomen17:Maybe another from a real lagosian too.. http://www.irinajo.co/victorian-doorways-yaba/ |
Moneywomen17:Yes you can post British accounts and instructions as handed to you by your masters.. We will post real lagosians accounts.. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2017/12/benin-people-owned-lagos-aworis-paid-royalties-erelu-abiola-dosunmu/ |
Moneywomen17:Thank God you know I'm older than you little boy.. I explained to you before but you didnt understand because of your fish brain.. In the whole area called Lagos, the Aworis only occupied Iddo.. That was their land, not the whole present day Lagos.. The Edos came and settled in Lagos Island which was unoccupied and no mans land at that time and developed it into a formidable trading town.. It was this town that attracted more people to migrate to Lagos.. That is why it is correct to say Benin founded Lagos because it was our activities there that opened up the place and gave it its recognition and importance. So the first settlers in Lagos is Aworis and Edos and the founder of modern day Lagos is Edos. anyways I'm done with you little boy for now.. |
Moneywomen17:First, Lagos is not Yoruba state. even if you say so rest of Nigeria does not agree to that. Ogun state does not beat Edo or delta state. Meanwhile which document did u provide about lagos? The document you provided only discusses Yoruba people and the population of entire Yoruba race in all of Yoruba lands at that time.. and at that time the population of Yorubas in Lagos colony was only 86k (the document doesnt say Lagos is Yoruba land even) .. Population of Edos in Lagos at that time could have been more.. You really lack basic understanding.. |
Moneywomen17:Well you are 17 so I understand your lack of understanding.. When you much older maybe you will understand a message in a sentence... |
Moneywomen17:guy this screenshot you did says Awori settlement was earlier than that of Benin settlement.. Awori settlements was the island of Iddo, Benin settlement was Lagos Island.. In the present day Lagos state, the first settlers were Aworis and Edos amd the Yorubas are migrants.. I know you are hurt by the truth but deal with it.. |
steveosaz:I already know he gets his information from his fellow yoruba liars like Olu, babaramota and Y0ruba.. LASG websites that clearly says Aworis and Edos were the first settlers and Yorubas as migrants in Lagos he calling it false.. If Yorubas were resourceful as they claim to be then whay are Yoruba states rundown and under-developed? go to all Yoruba states they are all dirty, no roads, no development.. Edo and delta states and most Niger-delta states beat yoruba states in development and wealth. Lagos was built by all Nigerians.. It will be hard for the Yorubas to take it if Nigeria breaks.. They will probably take the ruins after it is destroyed. |
