u couldn't even beat the igbos in Delta talk less of crossing river. They bested u peeps
Please just shut up about the Delta Igbos. They are part of Benin Kingdom by way of conquest. If u start to deny that then I will assume u really don’t know anything.

You make me laugh.. one factor that saved Igbo land from Benin kingdom was the river Niger. If not for the river and the tasks of crossing it every time we would have conquered you the way we conquered the Yorubas.

eyah. Sorry bro. Ur so called disciplined army was severely beaten and their heads used to build monument in nri. Ave u been to nri Kingdom in anambra. Go there and see for urself. The heads of ur fore fathers
The Agha Iduu Na oba war started because the Oba of Benin executed all the Nri princes and princesses. He sacrificed them to Edo gods.
The Igbos were mad and wanted revenge, that’s how the war started. Benin defeated Igbos in that war but lost heavily too.
If u like no gree, I just educated you on history.

lol igbo folklore i knw said that we repelled ur attacks and finally subdued u peeps into advancing into igbo territory and ur warriors squashed and heads taken as trophy
I think u are mixing stories. The Agha Iduu Na oba war was won by Benin..
but during the time when Benin was colonizing everywhere, we couldn’t penetrate deep into Igbo heartland past Onitsha because the Igbo fighters were too aggressive and they successfully pushed the Benin armies back, but we didn’t bother to try again because your lands were deemed not economically viable so not worth sacrificing soldiers for. We would have probably won if we kept trying.

Hmmm sorry bro, no be so e happen.
Benin won the war but both sides suffered heavy casualties.
I will agree that the Igbos were aggressive and courageous fighters but in the end a disciplined army will always defeat a barbaric army.

I didn’t say Benin defeated Igboland. The war called Agha Iduu Na Oba was won by the Oba of Benin. The Igbo army was crushed, thousands of Igbo heads taken. It was a brutal war for both sides, Benin lost thousands too but prevailed in the end.
The story is part of Igbo folklore, go ask ur elders.

Guys there is difference between Bini, the elite and aristocrats, and Edo the slaves.

Bini is foreigner from Ypruba, Edo is the aborigine land owner.

Bini is the kingdom, Edo has never had a kingdom.

Bini worship their Yoruba ancestors, Edo is the stock used in the worship.

Bini is regal, Edo is serving.

Bini came with Ife civilization, Edo was civilized and taught to wear clothes.

When you hear ....Oba no dey go transfer..., thats Edo praising his Bini Lord.

Bini came out of Yoruba. Edo came out of Efa.

Bini brought deity worship to Edo, Edo deities have been wiped out and they are forbidden from ever remembering or worshipping their own deities.
Idiot, the only renowned slaves and children of slaves are the Yorubas. So why are you trying so hard to put ur garment of slavery on another tribe??
Pls wear it, it’s yours.. it stinks badly of Yoruba. You are the slaves, Edos are the masters.

The original edos are in edo state ...

I want to ask you a question why did the itsekiris migrate to illaje nd migrated bxk to thier present location
Migration is usually as a result of seeking greener pastures, fleeing away from persecution or wars. It could be any of the above.
Why their descendants came back? It could be they were being discriminated against by their hosts and they decided to return to the land of their fathers.

Do you know there are Edos living in Yoruba lands for hundreds of years? If these Edos decides to return home what names and language do u think they and their children will be speaking in maybe the next 200years??

Try to do some research about itsekiris origin. Don’t just assume.

Keep quiet, Mr man! Bini people has no knowledge of Ezechima and this is a fact. What we know of Ezechima is that he arrived during a brutal war called AGHA IDUU NA OBA in Igbo folklore and settled in Anambra farmlands near Orimili Niger. Historians were not able to trace his ancestry to the Bini empire and the conclusion was that he lived with his subjects in what is known as current Edo state before a rift with the Oba of Bini. The culture of Onicha people were carefully studied by many historians including the Europeans who classified Uhrobo and Itshekiri as Edoid subgroup and concluded they were proper western Igbos with influence from Bini kingdom.

You can twist the Ezechima name all you want but the evidence is too staggering for you to tamper with. At no point did Onicha nor any Delta Igbo town ever spoke any edoid language....Thats the most painful truth you lot dont want to deal with.

You find it hard to swallow that your so called "almighty" Bini kingdom was after all a little village who dug a hole around herself for fear of invasion. Your kingdom will continue to shrink because the world has moved on.
Why are u blinded by jealousy?? Even early Europeans to West Africa attested to the fact that Great Benin kingdom encompassed everywhere from river Niger to Togo. So let’s not debate that.

Eze Chima is different from the War of Oba of Benin against the igbos.
Even you don’t know anything about Eze Chima so you have to accept my version.
The war of Agha Idu Na Oba was a campaign the Oba of Benin led against the Igbos. It was a brutal war, thousands of lives lost but in the end the Oba defeated the Igbos.
That’s why the Igbos are still angry till today, they cannot forget the might of a great king

Stop been dogmatic and try reasoning out of prejudice and false information ....the truth is that
The original edos werent much in pre history times and they didnt spread thier languages to build up populations like the igbos ,yorubas and hausas....even uptill date benins dont speak thier language offshores or to strangers......
Benins in pre colonial times migrated in few to established places like ,lagos, warri, itsekere etc they only occpied thier royal stool and they ruled the indigenous people there ...just the same way oduduwa migrated and ruled ife is the same way benin migrated to itsekeri and ruled them ....this is why the names didnt sound like an edo name compare to places in edo like eshan, uromi you could read a meaning to this names....
Itsekiris i belueve were yorubas who got influenced by edos ....
For god sake did you know how mny yorubas slaves they took and they are still way more than the entire edos ...they are way more more than us itsekiris is a lost tribe of the yorubas, aniomas are the lost tribe of igbos as a matter of fact benin had records which note they were different from the indigenous people they ruled ...sime of this indigenous people where used by sacrifice by the edos.... Britain influenced nigerians but we aint British...
This your analysis is very funny lol.
How can u call Anioma “lost tribe of igbos” when they are just some few kilometres away from eastern Igbo land? How are they lost when they can see each other?
Do you know history of itsekiris? How they came about? Please go read history of itsekiris you will find out they were never Yorubas. They migrated out of Edo to Yoruba areas of ilaje. Years later descendants of the migrants came back home bringing Yoruba language with them and settled in present itsekiri areas.
What do u mean by the original Edos?

Lol... Did Onicha Ugbo, Onicha Olona and Onicha Ukwu also changed the names of their ancestors upon arrival to their current location in Delta state? The average black man is innately ignorant and ffoollish. By the way Onicha of Anambra is not the oldest Onicha town as there is Onicha Olona located in Delta state and their ancient names right from their foundation have always been Igbo including their deities...lol

The thing about lies is that when you tell one you have to make up another one to cover up the first one...lol
This is a foolish response from you. I’m talking about a person you are talking about towns to dispute my version of Chima.
If you know much about Eze Chima so educate us. Tell us who he is, where he was born, how he came about. Please don’t start from “he migrated from Benin”, we already know that. Tell us about him before his migration.

The problem with many Nigerians is that of pride. Even if it’s okay to be proud of ur tribe but don’t let the pride blind you for truth and simple logic.

Good thing you called them our white "partners" but to you they are your white Masters..

Look around your Yoruba states.. In this present era your people are still indulging in human sacrifice.. When others (Edos, Igbos, Hausas/Fulanis and other tribes) are working hard to earn a living, your useless and lazy yoruba brethrens are sacrificing women and children to make money..

I’ve denounced the Yorubas for throwing insults. Don’t join them in throwing insults to. Let’s set a good example for others to follow.
Turn the other cheek, and don’t engage in any fighting. Let’s make peace and work together. Yorubas and Edos are brothers. As Nigerians United we stand, divided we fall
The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. Let’s not allow Satan win.
Let’s unite with our Yoruba and Nigerian brethren and show love.
Don’t retaliate, make peace
After all we are Christians, emulate Christ and do what he would do.
Having unconditional love for those that have offended you is the hardest law of Christianity to follow. It’s not easy but devote your life to Christ and it will become a part of you
Turn which cheek? Please I don't believe or agree to that your weak doctrine of turning left cheek after collecting slap on the right one.. You can go to the religion section to preach your cheek turning.. In this section the daggers have been drawn and guns loaded.. Nobody is relenting, not Edos and not Yorubas.. We like the fight.
Go somewhere else bro (not trying to insult u but just go somewhere else if you don't want to fight)..

Actually you have the right to choose which tribe or ethnic group u belong to. Nobody can force u to align with Edo nation, so if Anioma choose to be Igbos it’s their choice. But however, the land mass you occupy can never be part of Biafra republic. It’s Delta State and therefore Bendel, territory of Edo nation. So you see, you will always be part of Edo nation unless you want to enter your canoe and sail across the river Niger to join ur Biafra brothers which we can allow.

See mugu. You post picture of several people besides the Oba of Benin with 2 unclad. Those 2 are slaves, Yoruba slaves captured and made to serve in the palace.

The difference between Edo and Yoruba is that while Edo use their own achievements and history to promote and argue about their greatness, Yorubas use Edo achievements as Yoruba own achievements. Don’t you guys have anything from your land worth promoting?? You can’t even praise or uplift your Ooni or Alaffin because they didn’t achieve anything for you. Your can’t promote your wars or conquest because your didn’t fight or conquer anybody. Cities sef una no found any, monuments una no get, renowned African heroes nothing for una.

This is how descendants of Oranmiyan treated your ancestors. There are images of Edo men decapitated for slaughter to Oba ancestors in Ife. The Bini expedition contained photographs as well...the gory that Capt Phillip saw at entrance to Bini. Edo men slaughtered to appease god of war and douse the white man anger from invading Bini. So two brothers are now separated because one individual Oba got slighted. He also threw one of the most illustrious and foremost Edo historian under the bus. Just because of individual sligh.

Yoruba eh?

The only viable region in the country from time immemorial. No wonder Yorubaland is where all of you run to and wanna die in.

No wonder all of you want to claim Lagos.

Out of respect for Benin friends and relatives until this YORUBA OBA pointed left finger to his home: I refuse to say anything derogatory about Edo. After all, it is also my shame.

Anyways if the Japanese Americans or the Chinese Americans feel insecure in America they would have gone back to their countries. The people in detention are there for breaking the country’s laws.

What is viable about Yoruba lands? A soil that is not productive, full of rocks and stones?? No mineral resources??
As for Lagos, apart from it not being a Yoruba state, 80% of the wealth of Lagos belongs to igbos, Hausa/Fulanis, Edos and other Nigerians.

Lastly, we may be one Nigeria but Edo and Yoruba are traditionally not brothers. The only relationship between us is that of conquerors (Edos) and the conquered (yorubas).

You are one of those peasants that Oba met when he captured the Efa and Oru that were ruled by Ogiso.

You would not know that. Oba has not always been with you. It was Ogiso before Oba. The Ogiso committed an abomination, beheading a pregnant woman.

The Efa and Oru revolted. Before then, the Urhobo and others deserted the tyrants. You need to find out why Oba have to pay for the land before being crowned at each succession ceremony. As peasants that info is privileged only to your chiefs.

I engage in facts and history that many of you peasants are not aware of, my buroda.
It seems the word peasants is a new word for you or favourite thing to say.
In case you didn’t know, Nigeria has been declared the poorest country in the world full of peasants. So peasants isn’t specific to Edos, it is the whole Nigeria full of peasants.
But Slavery and descendants of slaves is only specific to the Yorubas. 80% of Your people are either slaves or children of slaves and that is a fact!!

Now back to the peasants issue; do you know that mathematically/averagely, Yorubas due to their large numbers have more peasants/very poor and illiterate people more than the Edos?
Yes your Yoruba race have more poor, illiterate and very useless people compared to the Edos. And Edo State is richer than all Yoruba states. Go find out for yourself.

Oba of benin is sitting in a stool bigger than the itsekere king in size this is purely evidence of who is superior while the onni his sitting at the stool of a chief or subject and far distanced from the oba......in.past times itsekeres where yorubas but benin came and rule them this is how benin ruled down to ife....

Osagangan is an edo name and he ruled in ife oduduwa is an edo name same as ogun ....
History of itsekiris origin says that itsekiris were originally Edos who migrated to Yoruba areas of ilaje.. Over the years offsprings of those migrants decided to come back home which they eventually did and settled in the present locations.

At least they did not point their left hand to Bini since it was a Bini son that gave them their dynasty. It simply means they are not in denial like the ungrateful Oba that re-wrote his own history hoping that Ogiamen would accept him without paying his token for the land at every crowning ceremony.

The day Oba of Binin refuses to pay for the royal land/house, that is the the day they will send him packing back to Ile-Ife. After all, Ogiamen's children disrespect their Yoruba benefactors already.
