Happened alot to me in China...at the airport in xian, Chendong and even Shanghai...mostly kids who havent ever seen a black man be4. And then the elderly. Most of the 1.4b chinese have neva seen a black man before. On the Great wall, they kept coming to snap pictures wit me and i kept obliging. But wen i got the humid mid west, Chongquing, i always told them if u wanna snap wit me, you must pay...they dnt hear english so.whenever i made d money sign, they often laughed n walked away. But i could rest |

APC n propaganda. Always winning elections on social media. So pdp 89, 000 while apc has 5000 votes less. Elections to b held in 7council units. How do u cover a 5000vote deficit in 7council wards in a week. APC has lost yet again...and apart from the osun elections, they hv neva won any election as a political party. |

cheapest airline is emirates..u can check tripadvisor..emirates flies from lagos and if ur travel date is like a month ahead, u can get a ticket for 1000american. ethiopian fles from abuja but its pricey- about 230k if ur trip is like a month ahead compared emirates 160k. emirates is better cos better food, shorter layover in dubai (layover in adis for ethiopian is almost 7hrs while the 9.20 from lagos on emirates layover is 4hrs) ethiopian will take you cross continental on the the cramped 737 while emirates will fly you all d way wit the tripple7..believe you me, aircrafts matter especially since you are flying economy and its a damn long distance- about 12,000km. in india, if you knw to jump metro, take it..its cheaper- 150rupees round trip or atleats to to the city centre- rajiv chowk. thats d centre of delhi...taxi is 3k rupees about 9k so decide. you hav nothin to fear from nigerians- dont let anybody deceive you. they will talk to u if they see you are Nigerian, but thats just about it, its left to u to decide to befriend them if so wish. if you wish to meet nigerians, go to afrivan clubs- spasso at select city walk saket, quantum in noida, attitude and stay alive in gurgaon. if you want cheap things that approximate at quality, try the INA market, palika bazaar gafar market. stay out of trouble and stay away from indian girls- they wont talk to u, much lesss shhagg u |
the OP is a clown...and a dumbass.. this is what poverty causes. poverty has eaten into her soul else how can a woman, a married one at that equate dstv, water dispenser, Tv to progress and even go a step further to say someone is jealous becos of that? nothin wey we no go hear for this nairaland. u see, poor people( and people with bad character or deviants) always suffer from this siege mentality- they always think people are jealous of them, people are envious of them, people are conspiring against them, hater this, hater that, when no one gives a rat aass about their existence. to such, once someone even looks at them with scorn, 'dem dey jealous my progress'. A married woman is listing thngs undergraduates take for granted as progress. so before your husband married you, was he watching NTA? and u claim you also work, if he was too poor to afford DSTV, why couldnt you save to but before now? do u have a car? or u and your husband still jump bus? nonsense..she is even the proud type and nuthin gum her nyansh...she saying she and her husband plan on buying land next year. i too plan on buying the whole of antartica next year. hahaha i am so annoyed to have read this. go and sort out your character issues and no one will 'jealous you' again. look at how everybody is insulting you and siding a neigbor that is not even on Nairaland? nonsense..poverty ravaged woman. |
jennykadry: Thanks JWe actually thought u were serious about getting answers to ur question. Go buy ur ticket and get to china then you will know the answer. You wont even get that far anyway, nobody will clear you through security at your departure airport.. |
i think he meant to say the agent got him a visa interview date...so maybe thats what he is asking for 2mil for. by the way u can go to america without having attended a visa interview.and i hav traveled severally to america and till date, I dont knw how american embassy looks like in Abuja or Lagos. Last time i was out was 5months ago. |
jennykadry: Ta, justwiseSo why are you still here asking us? By the way, your brother is a citizen of which country? and what class of visa did he get? Visa on arrival is only for countries wit signed bilateral protocols with china and last time i checked, Nigeria, or US or UK( and am sure the country you will claim citizenship) are not on that list. So dont try it, you will just waste your airfare. The minute you get to BCIA and walk that 1.5km walk to passport control, they will tell you to stand aside cos the official attending to you will not even be able to speak English. When someone who finally does speak English comes, he will move you into a room, go through your documents and keep you there, or transfer you a holding facility within the airport. You will wait till the next day (and am assuming the frequency of your airline into BCIA is once daily) till the next day when they will escort you back to the plane. Better check the chionese embassy website of your country of origin |
i never ever used airtel till i got to delhi..where i am at the moment. and their world wide operations are headquatered here too. But believ you me, even here their service(data) is at best average..some areas you dont even have data coverage while in some you have but cant eve open an internet page. we are enjoying MTN, data wise, but we just dont know. |
check ur compressor...u may hav installed a manual compressor wen ur car actually is supposed to use an automatic compressor..thats wat happens wen the car vibrates once the ac is on |
Evertyin |
na u find trouble na. the same ethiopian goes from abuja to mumbai..why didnt u fly n from abuja. or even if they dont do mumbai, they do delhi. so wasnt it better flying abuja to delhi then connecting mumbai with a local indian airline if ethiopian were not offfering a connection? |
Abuja is a pretty staid sorta town, so you wont be catching much fun, trust me- except you generate it yourself theres little to see and do, so the first thin you must do is- get some sort of formal reason to step out every morning, so you can mix and meet people. It is quasi work, but it ensures you have a destination every day. Learn a new skill or acquire some kind of knowledge- try make up school or interior décor classes. It keeps ypu bsuy in the morning and you get to meet people. If you are not computer literate, enrol in a month computer class. It will be fun stepping out every morning and coming back late. Abuja trade fair is on at the momemt at Old parade ground in Garki- stop by there. Visit the arts n crafts village next to Silverbird, the visit silverbird itself. The lifestyle malls are alal Abuja has got so try NEXT in Kado, Ceddi in Central Area, shoprite in Gudu and Exlusive in Wuse 2. Jabi lake can also be fun if you have someone around you. Then try Millenium park. Goto Wuse market an walk around and seep in the bustle n hustle- even if you are not buying anythng you’d see some bargains, plus you could just run into an old classmate. Get a laptop and a modem and vist the major hotels. A drink or a bite and you are browsing for hours while also observing people- Transcorp’s Piano bar is good, Nicon Luxury’s terrace bar(I forget the name now) Sheraton lobby are good places. Nanet bar is also not bad. Try the poolside of Vanecia on weekend and Rockview Classic and Royale. You can just sit on the upper bar, cappuccino in hand, watching people laze aaround in water. Get a racquet and learn a sport- try Tennis at City park. There is a coach there so if you go on any evening, he will fit you and begin training you. In a month, you are knocking balls around. Or you go to National stadium every morning and jog or play tennis or squash or handball. First Saturday of every month, go to designers mrket place- it is more a rendezvous for young people, so multitudes always turn out there- that’s in two weeks time at City park in Wuse 2. In the evening, the gardens are numerous- try Maitama park in Maitama, the garden opposite EAT.Com in maitama as well, try Dreams in Wuse 2, City park in wuse 2 as well. Theres Calypso opposite AP plaza(I think down konoko str) in Wuse 2, theres Papa and Mummy’s garden in Wuse Zone 1 then a phletoraa of gardens along Abidjan str in wuse zone 3, try them, for fish, nkowobi, isi ewu and the likes. Then theres Eden in Jabi with their stand up acts. Try the modelling shows in the galleria, the soirees in private clubs, the pemieres at most of the theatres etc etc. As per the clubs and lounges, if you are a night person- try Play in Wuse 2- along the same road you have Kubana. They are both okay. Theres carribean in between- it’s a stop ovver. Theres caramellos in Utako, theres Aqau at Sheraton- theyv changed names now. Then try SOFA, its always full, so is Zakudia or Club storm or former basement beside ITF building or Transcorp. Theres Bamboo in Maitama- nice aalfresco setting as well as Tucanos as well. In Garki therses Ibiza in area 11 and Armani Lounge in tswanya centre. And if you want to party any week day and don’t mind doing it in the midst of floosies, then try Krystal opposite Etisalat office in Wuse 2. There are other watering holes like Baytown in Gudu, Blinkers in Asokoro, Vegas in Gwarinpa (opposite Mr Biggs), Lake view opposite Jabi lake and I think 53 in Lugbe or so. My dear, you have to create your own fun o. |
So can nigerians apply for 2016? |
apache77: Gbawe, you are just a compound fool- say yes. You are the typical Nigerian- who just believes in copy and paste- no research, no knowledge of history of what they are discussing, nothing. They just jump into the fray in the middle giddy with excitement- and the remainder follow suit as well.Harsh but true. |
Wat if he has cisco network certifications like CCNA, CCNP and the like?wat r the chances of someone getting a job in the US with these networking certifications? |
Tonto Dike has just responded to rumors that she once dated Iyanya saying she has only met Iyanya only once or twice. ‘When I hear people say I have dated Iyanya before, I find that funny. I mean, this someone I have only met once or twice. I am a fan of his music just the same way he is a also a fan, but If I don’t even know him personally, how do I date him? Why they say these things, it is because they know I don’t respond to these things,’ she told a listening Ebuka Uchendu Obi, the anchor of YNAIJA’s Rubbing Minds program on Channels TV She says she sports tattoos and each represent a certain event in her life. On how many? She says she has 58styles. Tonto debunked rumors she lost her virginity to Don Jazzy saying they have never had anything together and he is just a very good friend. On why she tweeted that on her timeline? Tonto said it wasn’t her handle, she never tweeted anything like that in any of her own conversations. Does she think she can sing? Tonto replied, ‘I think I can make music work.’ Whatever that means, only Tonto knows. On what she thinks of Yvonne Nelson? ‘She’s a good actress, nice physique….bla bla bla.’ Certainly this is not the Tonto we see on Twitter. She was measured, quite insightful, humble enough to appreciate others and not think she was legend in her own mind especially when asked about her singing talents. So, where does the madnesss come from when she gets on twitter or social media? Or was she humbled sitting in a studio and facing Ebuka? We hear she is performing at the closing ceremony of the Big Brother Africa, The Chase season XVIII, though she didnt talk about this, as Ebuka didnt ask. myabujachronicles.com/tonto-opens-up-on-iyanya-don-jazzy-and-her-tattoos/ |

I thought I was the only one who felt it was a tad too patronizing that Peter of PSquare proposed to his long suffering girlfriend with a Range Rover. I felt it was a show of insouciance but explained away my thinking with the logic that I am not a celebrity that is why I was thinking that way. But obviously, I wasnt alone, Don Jazzy just took to twitter to say if his girlfreiend, Onome expects him to do same, she will have to tarry till eternity. The show of materialism coming with an engagement ring just didnt cut it for me. I kept asking myself what the symbolism was and when I couldnt find any, I put it down as an act of romantic exuberance that only an Igbo man can come up with. By all means give your woman a yatch, a jet if you think she merits it, but attaching it with an engagement ring? I remember when one of my Omoona neigbors in Surulere who was an importer/exporter gave his fiancee an Infinity jeep with his engagement ring. We laughed till dawn and put it down to the fact that he was omata, and was overly trying to impress his girl and get her to marry him. But Psquare? With all the swag? A gold ring worth about the price of the Range would have sufficed, if you ask me. But then, am not Psquare or a celebrity, even if Don Jazzy, the man who pops N240m champange seems to also think like me what do you think?

Abuja folks are hardly spoilt for choice for places to unwind asides the gardens, bars and clubs that litter every nook and cranny of the city. So when a group floated the idea of a monthly Shoppers bazaar where traders, shoppers and fun seekers could converge, it became an instant hit. They dubbed it the Designers Market Place (DMP) though you are hardly spoilt for choice for designer labels. I have always wondered why they chose this name but the name has come to stick since. DMP counterparts in other climes include the Wolff flea market in the USA, the Dubai flea market amongst others. The DMP here in Abuja is an open air bazaar really that holds in the open garden of City Park Wuse 2. Here a huge tent is set where vendors, traders, majorly those who own shops in the city plazas rent space to sell clothes, shoes, household articles and merchandise. Designers Marketplace is a monthly trade, marketing and networking event which takes place on the first Saturday of every month. It is a network of clothiers, boutique owners, merchandise sellers, jewelers who target mainly the middle class clientele of Abuja. It has its relaxation feel because music blasts from huge speakers all round the garden while snack sellers, small chops and beverage vendors make a killing- it is a picnic of sorts. The DMP is intended as a platform for up and coming small time folks in the creative, catering and business sectors to showcase their products and services and expand their businesses. The idea is lower costs, higher frequency, maximum exposure to a target customer base through networking all year round, and an opportunity for financial gain through sales. And this, the promoters have succeeded in doing as the place has become the mecca of the young and fly every first Saturday and the destination of choice for the young at heart. It’s become a place for the family to relax as many married women who own shops just rent space to set up without caring whether they sell or not. Young girls of Abuja throng there every 1st Saturday to just loiter round the aisles, to see and be seen while the young and upwardly mobile male population never pass through Wuse 2 without a look in once the bazaar is on. The DMP is a place to search for bargain deals, take in some fresh in air, listen to loud music and then ogle trendily dressed young men and girls- and yes, some of the vendors do manage to make some money as well. http://myabujachronicles.com/the-dmp-abujas-foremost-flea-market/

You are spot on..living in Abuja is tough for the majority..and much of the escalating costs in Abuja go to shyster landlords and agents and ofcourse not forgetting certain policies of goverment like this cab thingy. How do they pay you 67k a week and still make profits yet keep cab fares down. it means cab fares will average rougly 80-100naira a mile, dats about 50cents a mile compared against d generally accepted 14c |
