diggy4real:Go to HYLANDER AUTO SHOP at PTI road opposite Masoje bus stop for a thorough scan. They charge N1500 only. I would like to see the car if you don't mind. Just send me a private message with your number. And, please, after you're done fixing the problem...STOP USING MOBIL OIL! It get your make your car sluggish and smoky with too much carbon deposits in your tail pipe...you might not notice it until you step hard on the throttle while zooming on the highway. Always use - like I do - genuine honda 5W-20 engine oil and filter. With that your car will be happy. I've used two honda accords in the last 3yrs...a 2007 honda accord SE I4 2.4L ivtec engine (my first wife), and a 2010 honda accord EX-L Nav 3.5L V6 VCM engine (my second wife). These are good cars and i enjoy them. I've never used any other oil since i bought them and this is evident on my exhaust because if you come check my exhaust by dipping a finger in it you will see that its almost clean. Contact @Luvinhubby if need anything concerning your accord. I've been dealing with him for more than 2yrs now, though i've not met him we only do transactions by phone but i can tell you that he is worth doing business with. You can quote me anywhere. I hope you enjoy you car. |

You're very correct Op...I wonder too. I also wonder what the west and north are afraid of about Biafra. I mean, what is their fear exactly? The mention of the word 'Biafra' alone send chills through their spines. they dread the Igbos and indeed Biafra. Why? I'm yet to get an answer to this question. |
honmusa:Adding to what @honmusa stated. Very correct! The thermostat is a purely mechanical switch (speaking analogously) which opens or closes to allow more or less coolant flow depending on the temperature level of the coolant flowing through the engine. Whereas thermo switch (now speaking purely electrically) is simply an electrical switch that responds to changes in temperature which the ECU can communicate with. At cold start, the engine coolant thermostat remains CLOSE. After starting the car and the engine starts running it begins to heat up...the coolant inside gains the heat and heats up correspondingly. At this point, the engine thermostat heats up as well and begins to change position from been fully close to partially close and then fully OPEN when the temperature is optimum. Once the thermos begins to open cool water begins to flow into the engine to cool it and thereby bringing the engine temperature to normal. This happens when the thermostat is fully open i.e. when the coolant temperature is 95degC. Now, back to the question on how to know whether the thermostat is still intact or has been removed. 1. Pop up the hood; 2. Start the engine 3. Look carefully in front of the engine between the radiator and the engine. You will see two big hoses going into the engine from the radiator. One of them is usually located at the upper side of the radiator while the other is at the bottom. They're both usually close together at the engine side and enters the engine. One of them takes hot coolant away from the engine, while the other takes cool coolant into the engine when the thermostat is partially or fully open. 4. After locating the hoses, carefully and constantly monitor how hot or cold the hoses are by feeling them with your hands. After say 1-2 mins you will observe that one hose will change from being cool to warm then while the other remains cold. After say 5mins, the hose that was cold should become or feel warm to touch. After say 5-10 minutes, both hoses should be just about the same temperature. If what I described so far happens then your thermostat is intact and working fine. 5. If the as you start the engine and feel the hoses with your hand and they both have the same temperature throughout the time or one remains hot and the other remains cold after 5-10mins? It then mean two things - (i) It's either the thermostat is stuck in CLOSE position, i.e when one hose remains cold and the other hot after the said time period (5-10mins) or (ii) it is stuck OPEN or has been REMOVED, i.e. when both hoses maintains the same temperature change, of equal amounts, all through the time period, i.e are both hot or cold at the same time, from when the engine was started to when it became hot. 6. I hope this little 'layman' explanation answered your question?? |
Story for the gods. Cheap and foolish kindergarten journalism. |
Just last week I did the following works on my 2010 Honda Accord 3.5L V6 Auto. 1. Brake pad replacement - front and rear; 2. Brake fluid flush and replacement; 3. Radiator coolant flush and replacement; 4. Sway bar bushing replacement - front and rear; 5. Sway bar linkages, a.k.a stabilizer linkages, replacement - front and rear All fluids were genuine honda fluids and mechanical parts procured from @Luvinhubby. The brakes are now sharp and very responsive since I replaced the brake fluid. The heater temperature has increased to normal since I replaced the radiator coolant. The car is more stable and the shocks firmer since I replaced the sway bar bushing and stabilizer linkages. You will be shocked - at least I was - to see how dirty your brake fluid is when you do a total flush. The colour was a little blackish with some debris in it. Some of us drive our cars for years without flushing and replacing the brake, radiator, a.c, and transmission fluids as recommended which is bad. One major cause of brake failure is bad/contaminated brake fluid (one that has lost its characteristics due to long usage or contamination). If you have not replaced your brake fluid in the last 2-3yrs please try and do so. And please make sure air is not introduced into the system. To achieve this, make sure you introduce new fluid as you flush or bleed out the old one simultaneously...keep introducing new one as you flush out the old one and then stop flushing or bleeding as soon as you see new, fresh fluid coming out. Thanks to @Luvinhubby for quick delivery of items and please keep it up. You are, indeed, a very trustworthy and reliable fellow with high integrity. I give you 5 stars for reliability, trustworthiness and fast delivery of genuine parts and fluids! |

I'm not in support of death penalty as is been proposed. Embezzlers of public funds should be made to serve in jail. I would propose at least a 10year jail time with hard labour. And those in charge should and must ensure that this is done, squarely. Nigerians, we, only see 'corruption' as only stealing of public funds which is not supposed to be the case. Corruption is beyond just stealing public funds. And to all those chanting the death penalty mantra on Nairaland get ready to be executed because you are just as corrupt as the so called corrupt public office holders/politicians. It doesn't matter how much you might have stolen or how much the public office holder stole. The fact is that stealing is stealing. No small corruption, no big corruption. |
uselessgoat:What is your problem with Biafra? Why are you taking panadol for another fellow's headache?? What's the matter with you? And by the who you to say "Say no to Biafra"? There has never been anything like one Nigeria so quit deceiving yourself. Say YES to BIAFRA! And I support them 110%. |
OZAOEKPE:I now confirm that this is a joke. Moderator, pls do the needful by taking this topic to 'Joke' section. thanks. |
OZAOEKPE:Who and who are the 'we'? Pls speak for yourself alone. Thank you! ![]() |

But, hey, I have a few questions to ask us. 1. Why are we so afraid of just the mention of the word 'Biafra'? 2. Why is the word 'Biafra' causing everyone so much anxiety? 3. What is wrong with Kanu saying his mind and speaking the truth, though bitter. We are in a democratic dispensation for crying out loud, and besides, we have heard and seen people made worst statements. 4. If Biafra or any other ethnic nationality wants to exit from this fraudulent entity, Nigeria, and be on their own, what is our problem with that? 5. If we claim that the SE is so useless and we hate them so much why not let them go? 6. I don't see anything wrong with 'Radio Biafra' just like I didn't see anything with 'Radio Chanji' (don't know if it's still transmitting) |

kasiem:That's a very good point you made there. The local people, who of course are the ones who sincerely come out massively to vote, don't watch cnn or even channels tv...they watch nta or ait; they're not on twitter or nairaland. Elections are not won online. |

Opinion: Wike gave the best answer as to how the Rivers State will manage her resources and improve revenue generation in the spate of dwindling oil prices. He outlined cost cutting initiatives; plugging of loop holes in taxation and revenue drain; make investment environment conducive for private investors; encourage private individuals to go into commercialized agriculture. I'm impressed at his responses. Both Princewill of LP and Dakuku of APC were beating about the bush. Therefore, Wike of PDP - 1; Princewill of LP - 0 and Dakuku of APC - 0 |
leke12:Abegi make we hear word jorr! except Gen Buhari ko, Buhari ni. Yet he left ANPP to CPC and now APC. |
Where is Buhari? I hope he will be attending o |
xrisdon:I love the way you reason, my guy. Unfortunately, most Nigerian youths have skewed reasoning. They don't reason with their heads...they reason with their a*s |
xrisdon:Don't mind the 'mofo' |
APC with their arranji donation. Believe this, be a fool! |
Just watched the video and it got me wondering. What is Buhari doing in a police van...kinda like the used for conveying criminals? APC goons oya make una defend una master o. |
