Nairaland GeneralRe: Winners For The First NMAT Award 2013 by Davo93(m): 11:02pm On Dec 21, 2013
Hmmm... I feel honoured and delighted.

I appreciate every person that has contributed to make the Maiden Edition of NMAT a success. My special appreciation to those, that have counted me privileged to be awarded the 2013 Nairaland Most Heroic, I say God bless you! I also say a big THANK YOU to the Organizer and the Judges of this award event. I am grateful to you all!

I hereby dedicate this award to Nairalanders that were/are/will be up against injustice, bad moves, corruption and many other social vices on Nairaland and most importantly in the real world.

Let me conclude by quoting a role model, Martin Luther King, Jr. , "History will have to record that the greatest tragedy of this period of social transition was not the strident clamor of the bad people, but the appalling silence of the good people"

God Bless Nairaland,
God Bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Thank You!

When a Bird is alive, it eats Ants. When a Bird dies, Ants eat it. Time & circumstance can change at any time. Do not devalue or hurt anyone in life. You may be powerful today but remember, time is more powerful than you!!! One tree makes a million match sticks, but when the time comes, one match stick is needed to burn a million trees.

Happy Christmas & a Wonderful New Year in waiting. smiley

PoliticsRe: I Will Never Contest Elections Again - Buhari by Davo93(m): 10:20pm On Dec 20, 2013
Most Politicians are thesame... That is more reason why I don't get moved an inch when these APC guys try to present themselves as saints. No credible political party in Nigeria for now. The ones we have are just a bit different from each other in their level of corruption. Hence, I have thought it worthy to always vote for personality and not political party.

Nice initiative here Host Vanguard smiley

There are two things i would love to call your attention to;

1.) The way you opened different threads for different award categories may be a difficult nomination process for Nairalanders. I thought it should be a single thread for all nominations. Now that we have different threads, I will suggest you put the links to other award categories on every award thread. I don't know if you get what I am suggesting here? This will allow forum members to locate other nomination threads once they stumble on anyone.

2.) Also, like many Nairalanders have noted, the tag; Most Controversial Nairalander does not depict the intention of the award you are painting on that thread. Kindly consider this.

Regards.

EducationRe: Industrial Training Fund (ITF) Pays Students SIWES Allowance by Davo93(op): 6:10pm On Dec 18, 2013
I saw this somewhere today. Anyone to verify please?
The Industrial Training Funds (ITF) has begin payment of all outstanding depths to students who did their IT 2011 and upwards.

So kindly check your account for confirmation of the credit alert. However some banks are yet to pay their customers, so not to worry if you haven't seen yours.

This is a welcomed development especially when Christmas is around the corner. Spend it wisely its just 15K, although bank charges are deducted.
EducationRe: An Open Letter To Dr Olusegun Mimiko by Davo93(op):
@donfemo, thanks for telling us thesame story Mimiko loyalists have been saying to us over time. If i may ask sir, where is the money meant for the state? Where is the federal annual budgetary allocation going into? How about allocations to Ondo state for being an oil producing state?

If Mimiko is telling us there is no money in the state purse, then he should tell the whole state people how he misused our funds and allocations. These are just valid reasons to conclude that the sacred money of the Ondo state people was the one used to sponsor the Labour Party candidate in the failed Anambra election.

I think you missed the aspect of the letter that said the money for the bursary and scholarship awards has been approved and the only delay is coming from the Scholarship Board Director.

If he cannot pay us the token, then i think it is not a bad idea for him to come out clearly and refund our application fee and history will always record him as a selfish leader. Thanks.
EducationAn Open Letter To Dr Olusegun Mimiko by Davo93(op):
His Excellency, the Governor of Ondo State, Dr Olusegun Rahman Mimiko, I hereby write this letter to you sir, on behalf of Ondo State Students across various tertiary institutions in Nigeria to show how we feel at this time and what we are subjected to by your administration.

To start with sir, I must sincerely appreciate your good works so far at transforming the regional leading state to a developmental bench mark for other states in Africa. This is very laudable! This can be said was obvious in the resounding victory you had in the 2012 Gubernatorial Poll during which you were given a return mandate to serve our darling state for a second term by the good people of Ondo state. This definately shows how much the people of Ondo state love you.

I will not bow to the call of nature to continue to enumerate many good things you have done to our state, hence, turning this open letter to an appreciation letter. I know beyond this letter, the great people of Ondo State have their various yardsticks to measure your performances and appreciate you in their hearts and beyond. There is a purpose for this letter, so I will be quick to declare.

Sir, the main purpose of this letter is to draw you attention to some contentious and grieving issues on the 2013 Bursary and Scholarship Award to Ondo State students. It is quite unfortunate that since we applied for this award around March this year, no credible information has been passed to the students on when the payment will be made and most importantly, why it is been delayed.

It will be recalled that same thing happened last year but the bursary award was eventually paid into the beneficiaries' bank accounts on November 10, 2012 which is more than a month calculating by that this year. This is not good and accepted. Many of us have budgeted one or two things we wish to realize with this token before this year runs out.

Mr Governor, a rumour was around the media credited to the newly appointed Director of the Ondo State Scholarship Board, Mr Awude sometimes last month. He said the State Executive Council has approved the money meant for the Bursary and Scholarship payment. So if this is anything to go by, then we do not know why the payment should still be delayed! If Mr Awude is not capable of discharging this simple task at this time, then we do not see reasons why he should still remain in that position.

Honourable governor, the continued delay we are experiencing on this bursary and scholarship payment has brought a lot of doubt on the sincerity of your promises to us. Infact, most of us have been forced to conclude that the 2012 Guber Poll that was so close then was what forced you to pay our 2012 Bursary and Scholarship Awards at that time.

We are pleading with you sir to please intervene in our cause yourself and mandate the Ondo State Schorlarship Board irrespective of any barricade or Union propositions to pay us before Christmas this year. We applied ourselves directly to the Board and not through any student association and we also paid with our own money a sum of N500 for application processing, hence, any extreme or irrelevant consultation is uncalled for. At least, we can have something to cheer about and settle our educational bills before new year if you accede to our plea. We believe you listen to your people and that has earned you the title, The Caring Heart Governor. We know our own case will not be an exception.

Sir, permit us to also use this medium to wish you a Happy Christmas and a Wonderful New Year in waiting. Iroko joo, ko ma lo beee...

Nawa oo... wetin we no go see for our obodo Naija cheesy

I first read the story on Vanguard News some days ago. What made me think the people going there are not just sensible enough is that, the healing they alledged they do experience don't really happen. Some people interviewed in the 3-4 feet deep stagnated water, testified that though they never saw any healing since they have been coming but expectant. So is the nonsense really worth it?? SMH

See this tribalist? Hian!!

It is quite an unfortunate incidence. At least, let us be glad there was no penetration because that would have been another serious issue for the young girl. Animals like that man should be banished from among human beings.

kayus9ja: But the party is not progressive what do we do? I think we should find an alternative 14 years without any major development if APC is not the answer then i think we Nigerian youths should form our own progressive party.
Very lovely suggestion! Only if our youths holding better positions(Students' Union Leaders) could understand this and share thesame vision. Starting with sensitization programmes on our campuses won't be a bad idea at all!
