With regards to your enquiry about the status of your application, I can confirm that your application is being considered and is currently awaiting a decision. We understand how frustrating these delays are and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Standard UK visitor visas are currently taking longer than usual to be processed due to high global demand. You should bear this in mind when making travel arrangements. UKVI are working hard to process applications as soon as possible. We thank you for your patience.

You will be contacted by the Visa Application Centre (VAC) when your passport is ready for collection. Do not attend the VAC until you have been invited to do so.

You are not required to book any travel before you apply or before a decision is made on your application. You’ll only be refunded if we have not started processing your application.

We strongly recommend that you do not buy a non-refundable, non-flexible ticket to the UK, until your visa application has been approved and you have received your documents.

I escalated my case on 12th Dec, wrote to UKVI on 14th and I was told a decision has been made but I have to email BRP to request a decision letter.
I wrote to BRP on the 14th December and still haven’t heard anything back.
Is that normal?

Been following your case closely and it's quite similar to mine. So sorry for your experience, I know the feeling. Something this expensive should at least have a provision for appropriate redress or compensation in extreme cases of this nature. In my case I was fortunate to get assurances from the school i would get a slot if I deferred to January amd the school also advised me to cancel/withdraw the visa application. I've lost the visa app fee but at least the IHS will be refunded. Goodluck with what's next and stay strong!

NSF 14th Sept asking for additional documents for study gap of 7yrs and also a non straight forward mail
Replied the the second day and got a message from bank that Uk embassy want to confirm my bank statement of account
I had canada Ban-because of fake bank statement
Brazil refusal-because of fake bank statement
Colombia visa refusal too. All declared
Decision made on 22th Sept..

Everyone, please be very vigilant especially if you have gotten a decision but it's taking longer than usual to get your passport back. I know they will tell you to wait 10 working days after getting decision before you will get your passport but THAT IS NOT NORMAL! We all know it doesn't take that long to get your passport back. People that get a decision on the 13th working day usually get collection mail on the 15th working day.

Today made it 10 working days after decision/brp letter and I hadn't gotten my passport. I called British High Commission Abuja customer care and the staff that took my details called my mobile line later that night and was demanding 50k before he could track my passport for me. I did my bio since the first week of August so, the past 8 weeks have been from one battle to another. Luckily, my friend told me yesterday that she had a family friend in BHC so I quickly gave her my details. The feedback I got was that my passport had basically been abandoned! UKVI didn't even bother to inform BHC to print my visa. It was my friend's family friend that sent an email to UKVI and they finally approved it that same yesterday. My visa was printed and was dispatched by DHL today!!! Due to their negligence, I have already missed a lot in school and I will still miss classes of next week and a bit of upper week because one-way flight tickets for this coming week are showing 2M and above.

All I'm saying is that be vigilant! It's not normal for our passports to just be sitting in BHC office collecting dust. Infact, if it's taking longer than 3 days after decision, start sending emails and blasting them with calls. BHC o, UKVI o, all of them are incompetent!!!

At this point, I believe it's better to tell the school about the delay so they can flag it with UKVI. It's not even funny anymore.

Thank You very much for affirming this. Uploaded all and SUBMITTED (which I reckon is like "point of no return" via self service. Used to still see them there before I amended my appointment to assisted service so I wasn't sure. Once again, thank you!

if all documents already uploaded.. confirm as you will be able to preview that they are there. If they are there, you only need go with copy of data page, check list, appt confirmation and original passport.
As you have paid for ASS service, think hard and well if there’s anything you are missing which you can take along, otherwise no need.

Thank you, boss. Maybe I wasn't clear enough, apologies. I actually uploaded all supporting docs on self service before switching to Assisted service to get a closer date. I guess that means i don't have to go with any documents then apart from the traditional items the list for Biometrics appointment, no?

Assisted service or self service? I've been checking at those times for days now I don't know if i need to opt for assisted service and try because i already got a date for 30th on self service. If assisted is offering more options I'd go for it pronto. Meanwhile, for anyone interested in Ikeja TLS there are dates for Aug 30th & 31st right now (self-service)

Just keep refreshing around 7pm, 10pm, and 12am like someone said earlier.
You have to be committed to it, refreshing every minute during those hours. Use a laptop and good internet connection. Above all, pray for favour too..

I got Aug 30 but I would love any date between now and 20th, considering school starts Sept 19. From recent here it seems Ikeja is the slowest centre in terms of decisions and delivery. For the assisted you will need to make payment of 11700, but I doubt if assisted has more dates than the self service.

Try to reach the companies for copies of your employment documents.
If it is absolutely impossible to do the above, Write a cover letter explaining your situation. Attach your payslips and bank statements showing your salary payments for that period. Note that accepting this will be at the discretion of the ECO.

This is an interesting conversation, folks, and I would appreciate it if the bigwigs here (@duchess90, @mimilyrics, @justwise, @giselle237 etc.) could join in and offer their 2 cents. Also, if there's anyone in the house who applied successfully for study visa despite having over 2 previous UK visitor visa refusals, kindly share from your experience.
I say this because in my case for instance, attempting to explain the issues raised in my previous visit visa applications may stretch into 2 or 3 pages but I read somewhere that a cover letter ideally should be 1 page long.
You have raised some valid points in your submission, however, as with everything visa application, sometimes it's a case of either tendering what's required or adding more that could now present new problems even though the intention was to offer clarity.

Herein lies the conundrum.

When there are instances of Visa refusals, asides being upfront in stating this in a fresh application, applicants should never shy aware from setting the records straight especially as the refusals have been consistent in this instance. As there has been no formal response from the applicant addressing any of the queries raised prior to this time as you have rightly mentioned, this application provides the perfect opportunity to do this.

My advice on the cover letter will be to itemize and address each refusal independently so the facts of each case are clear, the ECO is advised and there is no room to perceive your application in any other way.

E.g Refusal 1 ( Date of application ,date of Refusal , Type of Visa)

I recommend you do this. It’s an opportunity to explain possible Grey areas on your application. For example, in my case, our son had a corrective heart repair surgery in India 7 years ago. We knew the ECO would see the Indian visa and entry stamps on me, my son and hubby’s passports so we took the Liberty to explain in brief his reason for being there and also let them know he’s in perfect health condition now.

And secondly, my first UK visit visa application in 2012 was refused because I didn’t include a letter explaining my travel itinerary and cost breakdown for the trip. Needless to say, I’ve always attached a letter to all my subsequent visa applications ever since and I thank God none has been refused.

Above all, pray for for favor with the ECO reviewing your application.

I have no dog in the fight but kindly enlighten me, is the application pricess not in 2-parts? What i mean is, if you start the process and you make payment before being redirected to TLS website to lock in a biometrics appointment date and upload documents, shebi the 3-week UKVI processing clock starts ticking from the date of the biometrics...
In other words, that's when the visa application can be said to have been completed. Am I wrong?
