Foreign Affairs › Re: President Trump Tarrifs And Why I’ve Had A Change Of Heart On Federal Income Tax by dawnomike(m): 9:25am On Apr 05, 2025 |
DrMB: You’re not taxed on what you spend. You’re taxed on who you are. What you earn. How hard you work. And that’s not just unjust—it’s dangerous.
I. The Wake-Up Call: A Personal Shift
I used to believe in the necessity of the federal income tax. After all, how else does a government function? Schools, roads, military, social services—it needs money. We use services, we should pay, right? But then something snapped. Not in a sudden, dramatic flash, but slowly—creeping through headlines, IRS deadlines, and the gnawing realization that I had become less of a citizen and more of a resource. Mined. Extracted. Processed.
Realization: The moment I truly saw the W-2 not as paperwork but as a ledger of control, everything changed.
II. The Hidden Friction: When the Government Becomes Your Collector.
When the government relies on your income—not your consent, not your choices, not your purchases—but your very earnings, it shifts the power structure. Quietly. Permanently.
It stops being a steward and becomes a stakeholder in your labor.
Imagine this:
You bust your tail building a freelance business.
You work late nights, skip vacations, reinvest profits.
Finally, you break through. $150,000 a year.
Congratulations. You’ve just hit the tax bracket where you’re working four months a year for someone else—and no, it’s not charity. It’s
They treat tax systems as merely revenue tools. "Does it raise enough money? Is it progressive?" They forget that tax systems also shape culture, influence behavior,
And here’s the kicker: You can always consume less. You can never un-earn income.
That’s sovereignty. That’s choice.
IV. The Elites Know This—And Fear It Now we dig into the bones.
Why not switch to a tax system that rewards savings, self-sufficiency, and minimalism? Why do the elites—those who preach sustainability from their private jets—oppose tariffs, consumption taxes, or luxury taxes? Because those taxes limit centralized control. You don’t pay tax on the tomatoes in your backyard. You don’t pay tax when you fix your own roof. You don’t pay tax when you barter, trade, grow, or build. Consumption taxes, when structured smartly, empower citizens to opt out. They can live simply, intelligently, frugally—and legally owe very little. That’s the real threat: an un-taxable citizenry. “A consumption-based tax structure is the death knell of bloated bureaucracy. Because a government that cannot automatically extract income must live within its means—just like you.”
V. The Black Hole: Where Your Income Really Goes You know the joke. “I love paying taxes. It’s how I buy bombs I don’t want and fund wars I don’t understand.” But it’s worse than a meme. Take your annual federal income tax. Think it funds your kid’s education? Your local fire department? Your neighborhood? Think again.
Most federal income tax goes
Sales/Consumption Tax: Let people choose when and how they contribute. Want to live off-grid? Cool—you’re free. Want a new Tesla and designer furniture? That’s your call—pay up.
Luxury Taxes: Want a yacht, private island, or a third house? Great—but society gets a generous slice. This doesn’t mean zero government. It means a consensual government. One that serves the people, not feeds off them.
VII. [b]The True Cost of an Income Tax Isn’t in Dollars It’s in dignity.
It’s in the subtle, corrosive message it sends: “Your labor belongs to us first. You come second.” And once you see that, you can’t unsee it. The real revolution won’t start in the streets. It’ll start in the heart—when people realize that income tax wasn’t about funding civilization. It was about owning it.

Romance › Re: A Betrayal Beyond Imagination: My Husband's Darkest Secret by dawnomike(m): 4:10pm On Apr 01, 2025 |
Eberechukwu4u: I don’t even know how to start, but let me just share this.
My husband has an aunt who lives down our street. She’s not just any relative she’s someone we both took care of. She stood by me on my wedding day, making sure everything went well. In fact, people kept telling me, Nancy, hold this your aunty well o!” and I did. From that day, I took her as a mother because she was so close to us. But yesterday, something happened that I can never unsee. I was supposed to travel to Ogun State for a friend’s burial. We live in Ibadan, where my husband built his house. My husband’s driver was meant to take me, but he had to fix the car tyres. I even complained, saying he should have done that earlier, not on the day of my trip. I didn’t know that the delay was for a reason. I was in my room, trying to take a quick nap when I heard a car horn at the gate. I got up to check it was my husband’s car. He entered the parlour, and I stayed quietly in the guest room, which was very close to the parlour. Then he made a call. I listened as he said, “She has gone, come let me put it. My heart skipped. I decided to wait and see what would happen next. Not long after, I heard the gate open again. The security man let someone in. When I peeped through the curtain, it was his aunt. I shook my head and thought, This woman wants to ruin my plan. I was about to catch my husband with another woman, and now she has come to scatter everything. Then suddenly… silence. The whole house went quiet. I stayed hidden, my eyes fixed on the tiny opening in the curtain. The guest room door wasn’t locked, and the light was off, so I just stayed there, watching. And then… I saw it. My own husband is sleeping with his own aunt. Not just sleeping with her, he was doing it with so much passion. I watched from beginning to end, unable to move, unable to breathe. My mind said shout another one said don't oo make them no pain you. They didn’t even rush to wear their clothes. They continued until the horn of the driver bringing the car interrupted them. She quickly ran into the bathroom the guest toilet. My husband casually put on his clothes. Then the driver knocked, and hubby said Una never go he explained, and he said so where is my wife and my phone I picked up and came out. He froze.
Have you been here all along?” he asked.
I replied calmly yes, I was taking a nap. He hugged me, talking loudly so the aunt wouldn't come out.
I picked up my bag and left for my trip.
Now, as I write this, you are the first and only person I’m telling. What I saw I can’t even say it out loud.
This woman is over 50 years old. My husband is just 38. And she is not just a distant relative she is his mother’s direct sister. Same father, same mother.
This is what I saw with my own eyes. And I don’t even know what to do. This is crazy... First stack back in login state for a long as you can to process this. I really don't know what to advise you yet. |

DeDonniesHomes: I got to site one morning only to be told one man came shouting that we should settle him otherwise we should stop working.
I made some calls, only to be told that everyone has been settled for foundation, and decking.
But he said we must settle him before we start setting blocks on the next floor.
Who does that!
I was told to call someone when that omonile returns to site.
He's one of them and is fully aware of all settlements made
Just about 30minutes later, the man came again.
Shouting on top of his voice, "Is not that the engineer I've been waiting for? Tell him to come down, otherwise you guys should stop working.
He must settle me today"
I was fuming but trying so hard to ignore him.
Finally, the man who should talk to him came, but took his side.
I've never trusted him even though I've known him for a few years.
So I tried to put him out of the negotiations so he won't be a bad influence there.
But he refused to leave.
As I bargained with the omonile, the other man will speak Egun to him
Each time he does that, I'll shout at him, insisting that his attention and service are no longer needed.
As we bargained ₦90,000 from ₦150,000, he shouted at the man (but in their dialect), I shouted at him too, telling him to stay away.
Finally, we reached a midpoint at ₦70,000.
AND DO YOU KNOW THE ACCOUNT I WAS MADE TO PAY THE MONEY INTO?
The account of the man that was sent to come intervene for us.
THE MORE YOU LOOK, THE LESS YOU SEE What a drama!!! No matter how gentle and calm you are...One must possess a little drop of madness in this country to survive some crazy situations!!! |
