Thomthom:
My Journey of how I took urgent 4k loan from okash to owing about 2.2 million from Okash, fairmoney, Palmcredit, New credit, palmpay. You see that Flexi credit on palmpay, they suck my blood dry with there 7days repayment plan. My happiness is that the bussiness is moving and I have paid off some of them. Still have about 900k to go.
When I finish paying, I will update on the many many calls, I got from fairmoney if I miss due date payment.
The court threat and many many calls plus adding huge intrest and penalty fee on okash
Palmpay, that one Na your BVN will be blacklisted if you don make payment today before 4pm.
And also The first experience I had when I defaulted in meeting up with one of the loan app due date.
Am just happy because I will soon be free from them.
I pray your business flourishes and fortune smiles on you to get you out of all the debts.

Family › Re: This Is What Is Happening In My Family. Advice Needed. by dawnomike(m): 7:23pm On Mar 15, 2025
Andrecole:
I don't even know the appropriate caption for this post.
I'm really dismayed at what is happening in my family. First, my paternal grandfather died many years ago when my dad was only just 10yrs(according to Him). After my grandpa died, my grandma(father's mum) remarried. This time she got married to my grandpa's cousin. According to the customs and traditions of the land, when a man dies, the deceased brother is allowed to marry his late brother's wife and possess the children as well. This prevents the widow from going outside the family lineage to remarry.
My father grew up with his stepfather who doubled as his uncle as well. Now my father died a few years ago, and my mum remarried.
Presently, I'm scared this may happen to me cos it's beginning to look like a viscous cycle. I'm really worried.
Secondly, my father's land which is my possession(by inheritance as the firstborn) has been seized by my uncle. An older stepbrother to my late father. My dad built on the land many years ago, but before he died, the building had collapsed. A few years after his burial, this step-uncle went and built on it without the permission of me or my siblings. At the time he Built on the land, I was only 20yrs of age and now that I have grown, I became very angry and reported the matter to the elders in council. I told them to find another land for me to build my own house since I can't bring down their own building. In my village they don't sell land. They just give, and u appreciate the giver with a token. It is forbidden to sell land. Sincerely I don't know what to do again cos this man doesn't have any land to give me and he's a very fetish and diabolical person. He is a core idol worshipper who loves charms a lot. In fact, He kills. I'm trying to apply wisdom in dealing with him.
Let me tell you a very short story...
When my dad died; my half brother who happened to be older than I am and has more ties to the village, coupled with been a strong politician... took over all our dad's properties in my town including those of my grand father and ancestors lands to be shared grin
I just payed that; God should bless me so that I can buy any land of my choice anywhere and anytime.
Please, I understand how you feel... But, I beg you; don't fight a war over inheritance. Many have been wasted because of such.

Well, except you are very prayerful with God or very diabolical with **** spirit realm(darkside).

I pray God blesses you, so that you own your own lands without fighting for inheritance.

concho:
I have a business that will keep me in Lagos for 18 months, so I decided to secure accommodation before relocating—I hate being stranded.

Knowing that rent on the island is quite high, I focused my search on Main land .

Omo, the cheapest room and parlor apartment I found was ₦1.2M, with a total package of ₦1.6M. Another agent even quoted ₦2M as the total package for the same type of apartment.

I’d love to get some insight into how much you all are paying to see if these agents are overpricing or trying to rip me off.

Also, if you have any advice on renting in Lagos for a JJC like me, please share.
Thanks 🙏
All I will say is; welcome to lagos!!!
My rent in my 2bd room apartment has been as follows:
950k - 2020
1.25m - 2022
1.5m - 2024
2m - 2025

Maybe by nxt year, my rent will be 3m cheesy grin

Everytime I get pissed and want to get another apartment... the fear of new exorbitant rent plus the unreasonable agency fee makes me to stay put.

Juliusdaughter:
Lengthy post alert!

"My name is Brenda, I met the father of my child 3 years ago in the UK. We are both from Ghana but different tribes. I was a bit reluctant when he asked me out for a relationship based on the difference in tribe.

He was always particular about sex whenever he visited and it used to piss me off, I eventually gave in one time and didn't realize it would lead to pregnancy. He left even before I found out about it to be with a woman who is ready to give him sex according to him.

He suggested abortion after I told him about it but I declined because it wasn't something I could go ahead with.
Long story short, I got my Canadian visitor visa and told him I'll like to have the baby there which we both agreed to.

I had my baby in Canada and had to move to Ghana to get extra help with the baby since he has repeatedly told me he isn't interested in getting married to me, our child is 18 months now and his parents have not called me or my parents to acknowledge the child. He said there's nothing he can do because he has given his parents my mum's number, it's up to them to reach out or not.
The only thing he does is that he sends money for the child's upkeep.

Luckily I got my Canadian Permanent residence visa and plan to relocate soon, I've  been encouraging him to move to Canada with me so we can raise our child together, but he will say he cannot, why do I need to marry him to bring him to Canada when we already have a child together. The marriage is a trap etc

He got involved with a British woman who later reported him to police for kidnapping, it was around this time one of his brothers reached out to me for the first time.

I think this affected the outcome of his post study visa as he was denied and asked to leave, now he is saying God has answered my prayer of us being together to raise our baby. I am still in Ghana and he wants to come do the proper thing

Will I be wicked to say I don't want marriage with him anymore? There's no friendship between us, no romantic vibes, he talks harshly to me when angry. What kind of marriage am I going to have with him when I know we aren't compatible. Yet, he will either have to become illegal or be comdemed to Ghana if I tell him no.

I've always known about the incompatibility, I just sometimes think about the few good things he did and the fear of having kids for more than one man"
My sister in da Lord; be wise!!!

Do not ensnare yourself!!!

Pls nairalanders, I Greet you all.
I have a friend who came visiting this evening. After much convo, I noticed he wasn't in his right state of mind,That his neighbor and the entire family had been bullying/harrasing him almost everyday that they'll make his life miserable.
Of course I had to ask what lead to the bully and harassment, he said because he exposed some foul play on Nepa bills(estimated bills) to the remaining neighbors.
He said at first the mother forcefully decide to be collecting the money from the previous neighbor for no reason. After much observation, he noticed that the mother doesn't only failed to pay her part but also short pay Nepa. Since then, she had been on his neck with series of bulling and harrasment. She even went as far as raining insult on him at their bustop when their path crossed.
Anyways, I adviced him to try get enough evidence(VR) and approach a magistrate court around his local government or maybe human right office, instead of battling mental health all in the name of ignoring them( the husband inclusive).
Pls more input would be so appreciated.

Elzazzi:
I’m putting this out so others can learn from what happened to me. I’m writing this with so much pain and frustration. I still find it hard to believe it could happen to me.

Please don’t mind my errors. Read through as it may be a bit long. On the 2 of March around 4pm I alighted from a bus around Ajah under bridge. Ordinarily I do not respond to anyone asking for directions in Lagos because there have been lots of negative stories flying around. I even find it difficult to believe some of these stories.

But on this faithful day on the 2 of March 2025, a young man probably in his 20s walked up to me asking for direction that he is going to Abraham Adesanya in Ajah. I only responded that he should take a bus going heading front. The next thing I noticed one other came out from the other side and he asked him for directions also. That’s how the conversations went into how he wanted to go sell some medicines somewhere after Abraham Adesanya.

At this moment I was still walking towards my direction but honestly I didn’t know what was happening again. The next thing I know, I followed these two guys and we boarded a bus together. We came down at one place not after Abraham Adesanya. They took me to one place. It’s a ghetto filled with refuse wastes. Then one man came out, ordered the 3 of us to kneel down. We brought out our phones and everything.

The guy that initially asked me for directions left the scene. They asked for my ATM password and they withdrew 2.8 million naira from my access bank. At this moment I didn’t even know what what happen. The man was speaking in strange languages and It was like I got hypnotized. I was there for like 30 minutes and after he told me to go. I had to take a bus and stop at GIG motor park Ajah.

I begged those around to help me with their phones so I can call. It was one guy that later helped with his phone and I called my bank and they immediately locked the account after I had explained to them. It was the customer care representative that even told me they withdrew 2.8 million out of 4 million in my account already. This is money meant for an important project. My sweat and hard work.

Please do not respond to people you do not know when walking on the streets. Sometimes they even use small kids. These guys are well armed spiritually. I never believed it happens until it happened to me. It’s really getting more and more dangerous out there, please everyone be careful.
Sorry bro... BS happens sometimes!!!

I pray you recover your loss in multiple folds in other ventures.

Curtis03360:
My wife was offered an admission last year October and her resumption was scheduled to be September, January and May but she was pregnant then with our first son which she had late last year and now we are thinking of continuing with the process, I’m worried if the application could still be on and what’s her chances of approval since I believe she now has strong ties with her country back home(family and business) which in my little opinion should make her visa application accepted….i would appreciate genuine contributions as we are pulling in big resources to make this work
Her home-tie has surely gained a stronger point... But, approval goes beyond just having a strong home-tie.

Just give it your best shot ensuring you have good proof of funds and can be able to show that the funds are readily accessible like depositing it in her acct rather than yours even though you're the sponsor

Mods I'm supposed to Post this in Health section, but I'm posting it here to get swift and accelerated responses from our Medical personnel here. It's a matter of life and death.

I'm dieing(God forbid). I'm weak and restless.
I cooked Porridge beans yesterday morning and I ate it throughout. At 11:46pm last night, I woke up and ate it alongside garri. As in, I soaked garri to drink along with the Beans. At night and early morning while in Bed, I began to notice uncomfortable feeling in my stomach, I became weak and restless. I belched and the belch smelt like a rotten egg.
From 5am this morning till now, I have being purging. Watery stool. In fact, water is much thicker and solid than my stool. It rushes out of my anus like water rushing from a Tap with high velocity. It's scary cos I have lost a lot of weight within these few hours. I'm dehydrated and each time I feel the urge to drink water, I get scared cos I'm still going to excrete it immediately. I use the restroom every 10mins.
The most irritating part now is how the belch smells like a rotten egg. This is the only food I have left to eat. And from all indication now, I can't eat the leftover beans again. I can't. It irritates me right now.
Pls doctors what do I do?

I also have the urge to throw up but I'm controlling myself.
Send someone to get you meds at the pharmacy ASAP before you're too weak to move...
You have to keep drinking water to keep hydrated... it's important

Add a bit of salt and pinch of sugar into the water your to drink to serve as oralite to replenish the water loses in your body.

Above all, once you feel stable, try to visit the hospital as soon as you can...

Family › Re: My Mum Is Not Seeing Reasons With Me by dawnomike(m): 10:16am On Feb 23, 2025
Olorunjoe:
It took me a lot of guts to come here to write this. I would have chosen to remain perpetually silent on this, but in order to free myself, I am compelled to spill out the matter.
I wish my dad was still alive. He died 22yrs ago when I was just 7yrs. My mum had to remarry after a year of my dad's death. I didn't live with them cos it is an abomination for a male child to live under same roof with his mum in another man's house particularly when they live in the village.
To cut the long story short, I will describe my mum as someone who cares less about her children. She has never supported me financially all my life. From primary, secondary, university till graduation, she never supported. I felt it's because she isn't educated & therefore saw no need to invest in me or any of her children. What she's most concerned about is to extort money from the children. Most times when people talk sweet stuffs about their Mums, I cry inside me. She doesn't feel responsible to her children. I ask God why mine is different. 4/5 of her calls are for monetary reasons even when she knows we are still struggling after sch. No job yet.
I have a younger sister who's already married, we live in same city(port Harcourt). Now, my mum is coming to Port Harcourt to visit my sister. My sister's husband is in the village cos he lost his mum a few days ago. Though He travelled home before the mum died. It was joblessness that made him travel home, he wants to be recruited into the state civil service & he's pursuing it, reason he travelled.
Being the first born, I had expected my mum to first discuss about her plans of coming here with me so we can plan & make necessary arrangements. She only just informed me three days ago that she would be visiting us on Monday(tommorow). I told her that she should postpone the trip for now until later to enable us arrange adequately for her visit, but she's still insisting on coming. She's coming to stay in my kid sister's house who isn't working or doing any business and has two kids. I'm the one who sends my kid sister money for upkeep most of the time since her hubby isn't working and especially now that the husband isn't around.
You are coming to visit people and same people are telling you to hold on for now & u don't want to listen? I'm not even working now thats the worst part. I was mad when she said it was my sister's hubby that gave her transport to come, and that when she will be going back, the guy promised to send another transport fare. This is a young guy who just lost his mum, why should he be the one to give u transport fare? I wasn't happy to hear it. There is hardly a thing she requests for that I don't buy for her. Even if I don't have at the time, I either ask her to borrow funds or I borrow and send to her. When she borrows, I find every means to get and send back to her.
After NYSC, I went back to the village & was thinking of the next step in life. Everyone who promised to accommodate me in cities had reneged on their promises, I was stuck. In the end, I got someone who would accommodate me in port Harcourt. Before leaving, I pleaded with my mum to get me a loan of 20k from their women's cooperative, but she kept giving excuses. I had to go meet my mum's friend who acted as a surety for me so I could secure the loan. My mum had even gone behind to tell her colleagues not to approve the loan. When I heard this, I was so sad. My mum even travelled back to her husband's place & left me stranded. It was same woman who secured the loan for me that prayed for, & wished me well as I embarked on that journey.
After a month, she started requesting for monetary help.
I still remember when I needed 5k to do my clearance so I could submit the clearance form and get mobilized for NYSC. I had tried to raise the money, I had spent all I had on paying off all outstanding debt I owed the sch. My mum had over 15k in her bank account but this woman acted like she had nothing. I was shocked when I checked her phone & saw messages of her transactions. When my kid sister(the one she's visiting now) was just 6 yrs old, and was living with my mum's husband, my mum sent her back to ur grandmother that she(My sister) was causing her problems in her husband's house.
I really understand your situation and how bitter all these feel.
Firstly, just continue to do the best you can for her irrespective of the way she treated you... Forgive and ignore!

Secondly, I pray God blesses you and may fortune smile at you to wipe away the pains and struggles of the past...

Let her come to PH... Don't worry about the expenses. Reach out to me if you dont mind.
