CrimeRe: Osun Arrests 17 Chinese, Traditional Chief, 9 Locals For Illegal Mining by Day169:
I wonder what the immigration status of these chinkos are.
I mean do they have legal documents of entry into the country, and in what capacity if they do..
Are they immigrants, refugees, experts, Chinese secret service agents or even fake humans.

The North, especially Kano, is fast becoming the new epicentre in Nigeria.
The Lagos State government can now take some credit for its tireless efforts to control the scourge in the state.

PoliticsRe: Nigeria Leads West Africa In Coronavirus Cases by Day169: 2:01pm On May 03, 2020
It was just a matter of time, in similar fashion to how the USA now dominates the world with the scourge!
Now with Kano fast becoming the new epicentre, we seem to be in for a long ride. undecided
PoliticsRe: Check Out Lagos In 1971 by Day169: 1:58pm On May 03, 2020
Undoubtedly Lagos, circa '71.
From the cars in the video, mostly Peugeot 404, the lorries- 'bolekaja', the old fashioned buses and styles of haircut and dressing of people in the footage, it's definitely a vintage video.
.. however as observed, little has changed since then. undecided

FamilyRe: Husband Rejected To Kill His Wife But His Wife Accepted To Shoot Me by Day169:
I think of this story as a parable to describe the typical family home, as an eternal 'cold war' between many couples, in this way..
The man as the breadwinner of the home thinks he is doing all he can for his family but doesn't receive the respect and adoration he deserves from his wife, yet as a man, he'll continue to do what he feels he can to uphold the family.
.. similarly the woman is probably fed up of slaving for the man without being appreciated for keeping the home (.. including her night duty in z oza room).
So, judgement day presents itself in the form of the robbery scene. His assertion as the 'Man in the house' forbids him to take the woman's life under any circumstances, but the wife feeling repeatedly unappreciated and perhaps humiliated up to the point of contemplating a life without her husband, suddenly picks up the gun and is betrayed by her frustration..
See why men are from Mars, and women from Venus? wink
.. life goes on.

PoliticsRe: Covid-19: Can Africa Afford Lockdowns? Chukwuma Charles Soludo by Day169: 10:59am On Apr 25, 2020
..not only is this lucid piece, not for the mentally lazy but even tasking for the intellectually strong during this lockdown! cheesy
Well, what I could distill from this is the same colonialist mentality of following the western theorists 'hook, line and sinker' without recourse to the peculiarities of the African State.
So the outcomes are usually the same.. a disorganised approach to remedies which end up in chaos at the end of the day, benefitting only the crafty spivies who make an 'economic kill' at the expense of the populace!
In other words, the danger of COVID-19 is far less than our endemic killers (as enumerated by Prof.) and so the 'fire brigade' approach by the government serves only, the elite who are interested in self preservation (moreso the biggest victim thus far being perhaps, the No. 1 elite hitherto).

FamilyRe: Stayathome Drama As Woman Discovered Her Husband Camped His Girlfriend In Their by Day169: 9:52pm On Apr 10, 2020
I think the damage is already done from the look of things.
Take a deep breath, exhale and go back upstairs and leave them to their devices.
There's already a child in the picture so what are your options?.. live with it and accept to share your man with another woman or move out and on with your life if you can sustain yourself.
But to commit murder here is a no no, be it a crime of passion or not.

PoliticsRe: Corona Virus And The World Military Power by Day169: 12:26am On Apr 01, 2020
I think that anti-Chinese sentiments will peak when the pandemic is over, especially by the USA. Trust NATO to move in the same direction.
I only wonder what the position of African countries who always go cap in hand will be.
