FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 9:50pm On Apr 11, 2013
Sweetlemon: Not most men. In fact, just a few men invest their money. In my office, there are men who borrow money before the middle of the month. Many of them have working wives o! Many of these men spend large chuncks of their salaries partying every friday night and going out on saturdays. Don't forget many men have a weakness for electronics. Some just spend to impress friends.
Now this is where a good wife comes in, she can advise her husband on how to spend wisely. A good wife is also on the look out for investment opportunities, always wanting to know where she can buy the best things at the cheapest prices, buys things in bulks, and is a compulsive saver.
Now is this kind of woman not an informal bank/investment house?
You mean the working wives of these men are not advising them already not to party, spend less

Why cant these housewives spend these knowledge to make money and invest it why do they have to give someone and not use it themselves

Like a poor man teaching people how to make money
FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 9:39pm On Apr 11, 2013
Sweetlemon: Oh really?
Well no, as long as a man earns something, I strongly, STRONGLY believe that something can be taken out every month and stashed somewhere for future investment.
Let me tell you something. There are some women who may not enjoy going to the office or doing doing their own business but they are very good at nuturing and standing by others, and boy do they do a damn good job at that!
The plot thickens

Some human are not good in working not good in running business but their talent is in standing behind others?

Then why cant she get a job as an Aide e camp or SSS or wetin dem dey call those soldiers and black boned guys who stand beside Fashola and Jonathan

cheesy grin grin

Sweetlemon: As long as she's not an illiterate, she can and she will turn one naira to ten naira if she is prudent by advicing the man on how and when to spend and invest.
Most men who make the money have the knowledge on how to invest it.

Let the housewife use her knowledge to advice herself on how to turn her 0 income into 1000
FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 9:21pm On Apr 11, 2013
ileobatojo: I don't agree that ability to be pregnant and bear a child is the strongest reason for supporting stay at home wives but the OP has mentioned some stronger points over the course of the thread.

That being said, I could not personally be a housewife with no income waiting for someone to feed me everyday.

I will disagree with the assertion that the domestic duties of a woman have no economic value. Of course they do! If you were to hire different people to do all that she does, moreso for a woman with young kids, you might have appreciation for the economic value of the housewife. Some organizaions have tried to economically quantify the domestic work a woman does and it is no small amount. There are many families where one of the spouses decides to stay at home instead of working primarily because of economic reasons.
The amount she save would almost be equal to the amount she drains from feeding her clothing her, taking care of all her expenses. So basically she isnt contributing anything to the household and not an ASSET
FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 9:17pm On Apr 11, 2013
Sweetlemon: Nope! A good wife can take one naira and save it, invest it, and make it grow to 10 naira!
That's what I'm talking about ma!
Sorry ma, but don't tell me you didn't see where I have been saying that I work. So you would have seen where I said that both working and non-working wives can be liabilities and assets alike. It all depends on her ability to turn one naira to ten naira
Chikena!
And only Housewives know how to save and Invest money to make it grow to 10naira?

Why cant this woman use this fantastic virtue to make money for herself and be a rich woman like Alakija?
FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 9:07pm On Apr 11, 2013
Sweetlemon: Excuse me maam, but a woman with a good xter will definitely posses some very good home/money management skills. A good wife will definitely know how to help her husband save money. She will also be able to advice her hubby on how to spend money, how and where to invest. These are VERY strong virtues and something not all working women have.
And this has been proven that all SIT at home ALABODO housewives have these fantastic virtues? When we know most of them spend the whole day gossiping and watching Nollywood

Virtues that can and will most likely lead the man to wealth. So such a man has very little or no chances of dying from heartattack of working too much (as if you don't know that men with working class wives also develop ailments and die everyday!!!lol! Nice try!)
Why not use these fantastic virtues to make yourself wealthy? Abi is the woman exempted from being successful and wealthy? Obviously na mugu you dey find. You sef go out by 5am come back by 11pm while the husband sit at home and help you manage the money. LOL Monkey dey work Baboon dey chop

I'm surprised you of all people could not understand my point. I am not saying that a woman is exempted from working, I'm just trying to explain that there are other valueable things a woman can do that are just as valuable as having paid employment
Yes we agree valuable things like washing plates and clothes of max 6 people for 24hours, Even people that run canteen dont wash plates for 12hours

Its just a lazy and WICKED woman that wishes to sit at home while the husband slaves away

FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 8:50pm On Apr 11, 2013
Thanks Chaircover

A man works earn money to feed to housewife and kids But the money isn't enough, Now whats the solution, According to the OP: He should work more and more and more until he kills himself so that one woman can fulfill her "TRADITIONAL ROLE" of washing plates and clothes

So when the husband now gets stroke or falls down and die from overwork I hope you would be a Happy traditional widow. At least that time you would learn to work and feed yourself and kids or maybe the dead man should revive and work to feed you again
FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 8:32pm On Apr 11, 2013
Sweetlemon: You are a man and your main duty is to provide so you HAVE to work.
Jide correctly diagnozed you. This is the voice of "a plastic lazy bone who wants to spend her own money on her self solely and hide under labor pains and drinking donut & bournvita after child birth and call it a duty."
FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 8:28pm On Apr 11, 2013
Sweetlemon: You are a man and your main duty is to provide so you HAVE to work.
Traditionally a woman is not supposed to go to school but stay in the Kitchen? Would you accept that for your daughters and yourself?

Whats the womans main duty? Are you saying a woman who cant have kids is a failure?
FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 8:25pm On Apr 11, 2013
debosky: This girl is shouting character all over the place - na only woman get character? cheesy

Ok I have good character but earn no money. Please will you marry me? grin grin
Abi ooo. So if a man has character alone but not making money is he an asset to the marriage?
FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 8:20pm On Apr 11, 2013
So if these women are not married how would they be feeding themselves?

Once they got married, they suddenly became disabled and cant work to even feed themselves again

So whats the purpose of now educating the girl child when its to perform traditional roles?

You spend $100k plus incurring student loans for you to sit at home washing plates(In most cases supervising househelps washing plates)

The parents should sue her for wasting their money
FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 8:02pm On Apr 11, 2013
Sweetlemon: A woman cannot impregnate herself but like I said earlier, where it comes to child bearing, a woman does much more work than the man.

Sperm+eggs=feotus.........equation balance 1:1
Where does the feotus grow before it can be born? 1:2
Who bears the pregnancy wahala? 1:3
Who goes through the labour pains? 1:4
Who breastfeeds and spends most time nuturing the baby? 1:5
Women who work contribute financially to their house, Dont they have eggs, or are they excused from labour pains?

Moreover if these are the reasons a woman doesnt want to work she can tell the husband upfront she doesnt want to have kids and they can both know their options

Most women want to have kids and desire it a lot. To now hope to get compensated and fed for life because you did what you always prayed for

Go Redeemed Camp and see women who even want to experience those birth pains, pregnancy labour etc for even 1 month alone

And now one wants to sit at home because she did what she always prayed to do since her youth

I actually think you are doing women a disservice here. Or how else can you expect to be compensated for sleeping with your own husband

Any woman who wants to be an ALABODO is free to cheesy grin. Millions of women worldwide are earning money and still performing their duties as mothers and wives
FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 7:19pm On Apr 11, 2013
Traditional role of women

How many people live the traditional way?

You want to be a traditional housewife yet you dont sweep with brooms, You have washing machines, You dont go to market to sell, You dont wash plates with hand. So what are the traditional responsibilities of the wife?

To bear kids? So you mean any woman who cant bear kids is useless?

You bear kids for how many years of your married life?

If you are not married, what are your plans for feeding yourself if I may Ask?

Any woman who doesnt contribute to the house (Unless she is in school, sick laid off or mandated by husband not to) is a liability. SIMPLE

jidegirl12: @Nashville grin you beat me to it.... yes a registered beautiful non scary nanny will do all your work you think nobody but you can't , as the matter of fact that your 9month crap duty would be done by a surrogate mom with your carbon copy kids grin.... Nobody is indispensable oh so watch it there .

So that man no be another person's pikin to make more money for you to spend just cause you're a woman?

You better face your studies sam Sam and aim high and let your man respect you and run after you .... Monè makes the world go round oh bebe!
I already liked this post.

So because God made you a woman the thing between your legs should feed you for life?

Or if the womans husband dies, wont she find a way to survive
FamilyRe: She Is Not A Liability!!!! by dayokanu(m): 7:09pm On Apr 11, 2013
Sweetlemon: Debosky, thank God you realize that there is one thing a non-working wife can do that you can NEVER do. Not even in the year 3000!
Like I said, you still don't get my point.
I also dont think a woman has the ability to make herself pregnant so the point about men not able to get pregnant is very MOOT

Land of our birth

Land of our birth, we pledge to thee
our love and toil in the years to be,
when we are grown and take our place
as men and women with our race.

Father in heaven, who lovest all,
O help thy children when they call,
that they may build from age to age
an undefiled heritage.
