koruji: Well, you can pray all you want. What are your kids supposed to do if after decades of prayer someone actually went ahead to try to inhabit where you built, and definitely gunning to make it all in vain? Throw the man and his new wife out!

The new wife may be or may not be innocent, the real issue is the man's lack of sense. As I said above, if he is rich enough to marry another wife he should be rich enough to get her a new house too. Human empathy would show anyone that the "so called" new wife would move to dispose of the old woman in any way possible. Two women cannot live together under normal circumstances talkless of this type of incogruity.

Those who insist on polygamy and continue to practice it only multiply their own pains, and they destroy the future of their own children.
Did you read the thread and initial post? I would advise you do so. The man already rented a new house for him and his new wife but the kids went there and beat up the man under suspicion that him and the new wife diabolically made their mom mad

Richvkunt: Well the reason according to the children,is that the their father recently collected his gratuity money and decided their mother was too old for him and therefore decided to bring in a younger woman as a wife to keep him warm in his old age. The children kicked against this and told their father that he could marry his new sweet sixteen OUTSIDE the house he built, meaning he had to rent a house outside where the new wife would stay.
The father agreed to these terms and conditions and everyone was living happily ever after
until the mother of these four grown up kids contracted a strange sickness that almost turned her in to a lunatic who began mumbling and talking to herself.

ifyalways: Which sort of useless, hopeless kids are these?their dad obviously does not have relatives or cool friends else those punk kids would be chiling out in some barracks now. They've tactically taken over the house with their dad thrown out and mom abandoned in some herbalists hut.
A man wants a second wife?fine!last I checked polygamy is not a crime.he's getting the wife with his own money, not anyones.instead of the kids to offer emotional support to their mom, they were busy fighting to keep a house they knew how or when it was built.
In my own books and if actually the dad moved out of that house, I see absolutely nothing wrong with the mans decisions. Given the limited info the op has, is it established that the man didn't settle his wife before venturing into the new marriage? Foolish children!!!
What says they are not responsible for their moms predicament?how come when their dad announced his intention of using his gratuity to get a new wife all they thought of was asking him to move out as opposed to asking for a nice settlement for their mom?
Btw, if the dad already moved into a new place with the new wife, how come he's still "thrown out" ?
The new wife sef is cool headed, if its some 'isi agbo ncha' type of women, those kids would be cooling down somewhere now. Yeye dey smell.
1million Gbosas for you.

I am very impressed with this comment from you
Oh please! You KNOW it's a lot more than that.

That poor lady probably had to endure unbearable psychological stress and torture from that man over a long period of time. I know you won't understand that from a woman's point of view.

But tell me this: how would the image of your wife ditching you, to be mounted upon by a young stallion night after night make you feel?

I know you'll want to murder her, but what if she's also physically stronger than you? How would knowing how helpless you are in that situation affect your mental state of mind?
I would feel bad but what can i do? Can i force someone to like me, keep liking me or what can i do?

When your past bf told you it was over would you force him to be with you?

the best thing is to move on with your life and be glad you left it alive.

If you see a man beating a woman because she ditched him, I am sure you would be the first to call him a LOSER

jennykadry: I dont know if manhandling this man was the best thing to do. I would kill any sibling of mine that does that to my dad but then, my father would never do to us what this man did to his family
Definitely manhandling your own father can never be the right thing to do. That shows that the children are idiotss and hopefully their own children too would beat them up.

They should be more concerned with fixing their mom, By beating the man are you forcing him to go back to their mother? So he can kill her one night?
What made his life "long-suffering"?

~ Did he have to endure the pain of 4 child births? Or endure the physical changes to one's body after child birth?

~ Did he have sleepless nights nursing the kids? Infact, was he ever left holding the baby?

~ Did he combine housework, child minding, running after his spouse's whims / demands for bedmatic exercises even when exhausted?
.
Which of these was forced on her? Its funny women expect to be compensated for doing what they wanted (have kids)

I once asked a woman who was of the same opinion that she sacrificed her body, took care of babies bla bla bla. I asked her if your husband had told you from the beginning of the relationship that you shouldnt have babies so you wont ask for compensation would she have agreed?

She replied that she would have left the man because she wanted babies.

So why expect to be compensated for what you doing what you longed to do for most of her life.
So, you'll get her out of the house empty-handed, with nothing to show for, (after giving 30 years of her life to him) as though she's the one to blame for the failed marriage?

No one is saying you should go attack your father. However, I do know that if it were the other way round, say this lady in question wanted to marry or be with someone else, she too would have been thrown out of the house - and no one, absolutely no one would have batted an eyelid on her behalf.
My mom, My sister, my aunt would take out whatever she brought into the union. if she has a car, she would rive her car out. if they have joint accounts or investment she would get her part of that. chaircover: Dayo you are so out of touch. Uni fees, handouts, accommodation, lecturer backhands and so on is not a walk in the park. Many many parents cant afford to send their kids to uni and that is a fact.
I graduated Uni about 10yrs ago. And I had classmates whose parents were farmers and petty traders. I have 3 younger ones who have graduated Uni since, one even finished last december and the cost of Uni are not that expensive in Nigeria unless you are talking about private schools. Every govt worker earns minimum wage. My school fees in Ife for my first 4 yrs. N500 school fees and N90 accomodation

chaircover: Lets assume that all 4 kids are aged over 20. How can someone poison the minds of kids that grown. meanwhile lets for argument sake that their minds were poisoned. He couldn't have been a good dad in the first instance or it wouldn't have been so easy to poison all 4 minds.
That is the stock in trade of women, they do it all the time. While a man would hardly go to tell the kids about the problem with their mother, the woman wouldnt hesistate to do that. It happens all the time. Its not about being a good or bad dad, thats just the way women are.

chaircover: I didn't read anywhere where it was said that the man gave up his home. He wanted to bring in new wifey to live with them all and the kids insisted that he go rent a place for new wifey.
They said the man couldnt bring his new wife home and he gave up the house and went to rent a new place with his new wife. So what more do they want?

chaircover: I also didnt read anywhere that the wife didnt bring in an income. . . . and seriously how did a man on such a low wage send 4 kids to uni and build a house on his wages alone?
Bricklayers, Farmers, market women etc send kids to universityIts not as if its that hard. The total amount I paid in school fees and accomodatioon to get a 5yr degree was less than 10,000. Thats like $70

His wife may have been a petty trader, in which case she wont get a pension/gratuity from anywhere.

chaircover: One thing that we are overlooking is that all 4 children are against the father which tells us something . . . . . . Not one child could stick up for his/her dad. That alone speaks volumes. Not very encouraging.
Not strange at all, This is one thing women do everytime. its not ununsual for the women to always poison the mind of the child against the man. When there are spousal disagreement, the first thing women do is to tell the kids how terrible a person their dad is and how she is the Saint even when the man is the one providing all the finances.

Why cant 4 Graduates contribute money to take care of their mom and had to resort to beating their dad?

Ibime: Stop talking like old school man.

We are not talking of Tom Cruise wife trying to collect half his kishi.

These two must have made plans together for the last 30-something years.

They must have planned the house together and made sacrifices accordingly.

No reasonable wife is looking to spend her partner's money after 30+ years of building together.

This is money they should be using to plan their retirement and investment in their kids, not throwing owambe. No woman who's been around that long is trying to "chop money" and the man should not see this money as "chop money" either because his struggle in life is not over as long as he has a wife who is not yet comfortable and kids who are not yet able to stand on their own.

Not only has he cheated his wife by trying to "chop money", he has cheated his children out of a platform for the future. The foolish man thought his responsibilities in life are over and its time for him to enjoy, that's the problem here. . .
Have you forgotten they already collected his house?

ronkebp: STORY- STORY................

1. The children have no right to send their father packing.....there is nothing wrong in building a house for their mum..The parents have equal right to the kids, there is no point showing favouritsm to one parent and neglecting the other, except if the man had abandoned them, from the beginning (which is not the case here). The Bible says (and this for the christians that believe that God exist, not for the atheist) "honour your father and mother so that your days maybe long" and that is irrespective of whatever they do to you.

2. The father might have done worse, overtime to their mother, so it could have been from a pent-up frustration, and the kids decided that "enough was enough", still i do not support maltreating their dad..

3. If the man is tired of the woman, there is nothing wrong in divorcing her but doing it right. The gratuity, if not shared equally, 1/3 of it should have gone to the first wife....
Excellent points.

With Point 3, Does it count that they have taken the mans house already? Why do they need his gratuity again?

Ejo e ko, I maybe wouldnt have minded so much if the man had been rich and she had enjoyed his money all these years. . . . can you imagine! now that the soup is ready to be served the man went off and danced azonto with one sisi eko. . . . .and then men complain that all the spinsters out there are gold diggers. why wont they dig, when each time they sow, they are discarded before they have a time to reap. nonsense. Did the man stop the woman from working to earn her own gratuity?

So you prefer if the man stayed and murdered the woman at home?

The man was honorable enough to ask for divorce/separation, he even gave up his house.

So what more do you want him to do?

Ibime: Of course!

Marriage is a partnership.

You need to read the bible bro.

My wife and I plan financially together. She would need to quit her work soon enough to raise our kids and she would always be worth half of everything we have. My brother-in-law has been inactive financially for the last few years due to cancer and he is also worth half of everything my sister and he have.

Marriage is a total commitment to partnership whether good or bad.
Thats in a case where one partner is forced to give up his/her earning potential to cater for the family.

In cases where the other spouse didnt give up anything why should he/she take part of his gratuity?

The OP didnt tell us their mother was a full time housewife who gave up her career.

So what if the woman was also a top govt official who earned her own gratuity, Should she still take the mans money?

Billyonaire: Politics and Religion is a dangerous mix. It was the precursor of the Knight Templar, Its the precursor of Islamic Terrorism. I advise Tunde Bakare to stay off politics. It will destroy him. Jesus was killed for being called "King of the Jews", and Joseph Smith was murdered for indicating to run for President of the United States. Tunde Bakare, you are treading on a dangerous terrain, stay off. Stop recruiting another crew of Christian Fundamentalists. Buhari, knowingly or unknowingly set up a dangerous islamic war in the North by "mere" speeches, culminating in Boko Haram imbroglio. Now, his running mate, Tunde Bakare, mounts the pulpit of his Church every sunday to preach radical political gospel, calling for overthrow of Government and slowly he is radicalizing the church members into a powerful politico-cult-like Assembly. Tunde Bakare should desist henceforth for the sake of national security. Or Else!
Question When Bakare was carrying placard in Abuja fighting Turai and the cabal, You didnt notice he was mixing Politics and religion

When martin Luther king was fighting for civil rights, You didnt know he was mixing Politics and religion

When Desmond tutu was fighting Apartheid you didnt know he was mixing Politics and religion?
