Oyinbos are generally soft

If you watch their investigation discovery. They would catch a hardened criminal by talking to him he would start crying and confess.

Try that one for Naija. Person wey you catch korokoro beat am till all him teeth comot go still deny till him die

DerideGull: Bros I could not believe my eyes and ears reading from certain individuals on this thread. It is a pity tribal bias is a show stopper in Nigeria. In fact, the earlier Nigeria is disintegrated the better for every one of us. Is there any policy in Nigeria that limits the fleet an agency can maintain? Did Stella Oduah manipulate or inflate the prices of cars? Did she take a kickback on the purchase of the cars? Was the purchase of the two cars precipitated under the cloud rain or darkness of night? Was there any destruction of trail papers with regards to purchase of the cars? What is actually wrong with Nigerians?

If the systems and manners of business situated in the aviation sector are comparable to other sectors of economy in Nigeria, please say it.
And Dendemoron

Please is college the same as University as referred in your comment?
Please what do you mean by "especially since you all won't have papers don't try it. I need to understand.
College is the same thing as University

If you dont have papers means if you dont have legal residence . A green card dont try it especially with a family because how would you cope with a family of 5 with legal residence. Without legal residence you can barely get a job, get a drivers license or even rent an apartment

If you are single you can sleep on friends couch etc but how can you do that with 5 kids?

Its a must you complete your medical education in Nigeria before coming here. Else you mgith find it hard

There is a world of difference between someone who has a semester to graduate and one who is a graduate

Afam4eva: She's actually pre-med. So, after pre-med, she'll still have to go to medical school just like it is in law?
Pre med is a whole different ball game and just like getting a degree in Biology

Medical school admission is very controlled in the US and being a resident is usually one of the roadblocks that can drop your application

Also its very expensive and almost impossible to get a medical education without a loan

An average American trained doctor has $300,000 in student loans

babyosisi: What is PTK?
Someone correct me if it has changed holders of FI visas are eligible for what they call work study
You can be hired to work on campus but I guess that will depend on availability
When I was in school,I had an Indian friend that did work study, filing books in the library and doing some office jobs after hours and before classes.
That is the only type of job you can do,on campus.
If you want to study in a community College I would advise you to do this

Get an admission into a regular Univerisity as F1, Get also for a community college, Go to the embassy with your University admission and I-20

When you get to US, transfer your I-20 to the community college

The community colleges are usually cheaper and If you can find someone to stay with like a family friend you can cut costs of the first two yrs

The same Calculus you take for $300 at HCC might cost you $2000 at University of Houston

Dan1el: Thanks 4 this thread. I graduated from Botany but i always wanted medicine. When i asked 4 d cost 2 study med abroad. My cousin told me 2 budget 10m, which is too much. Another cousin of mine told me dat since my first degree is botany dat they are many medical field 4 me over there. I told my uncle in Australia. He said i should study med here then come over. That he regrets not doing so. He studied lab tech b4 travelling. Now , it's been difficult 2 get the admission here and time is ticking. Wat do u suggest
You cant study medicine in US unless you have a Green card. (Osisi Am I right?)

The best option for you is to try those Carribean medical schools graduate , write your USMLE and come into the US.

if you have the option of getting a medical degree before coming to the US dont miss it

Complete your medical school in Nigeria because its cheaper, While in Medical school write your USMLE, I think you can write step 1 in Ghana probably Step 2 CK too

but you need to be in the US to write Step 2 Clinical Skills

I am talking about Nigerians with our Nigerian accents

There are several Nigerians in high positions that require speaking and interacting with authorities.
That is why we emphasize education and skills
When you position yourself well, they will respect you and your accent
I know the man Ilesanmi Adesida The Vice Chancellor at University of Illinois a Professor of Electrical Engineering.

When you have stuffs to offer, they listen to your accent, I just finished a conference call now with several Indians, Italians and some Americans and with all the accent there was no communication issue

One of my friends with a very thick accent when a company's datacenter was going down they were all forced to understand his accent by force

is weed , igbo buisness still possible in d u.s??!

na dat one be my main target?!

grin grin grin
Yes it is. You can make it quick by selling dope

There is a little snag its also the fastest way of getting to jail or better still back to naija you wont even need to buy a ticket.

I heard about a Naija boy Charlie in Houston around 2003. He was quite smart in school but decided to go for the weed selling route, He sold to an undercover cop and a week later they processed his papers and landed in Muritala Now he calls his friends in America to beg for $100 to survive.

Its basic common sense. Which organisation would employ an accented foreigner to be their spokesman

Even in Nigeria would you see a Congolese with a funny name and accent working in media and communications?

They are the first line of contact for every company and everyone would like to put their best foot forward

The truth is most companies would prefer to have a Blonde girl between 20-35yrs as their first contact or communication outlet

If you are not, You have 2 options Either sulk, whine and complain forever about it OR find another field to excel in

Teminio: Thanks babyosisi, great job you are doing?

Please I have some questions for clarification.
Is it true that one cant get into American Universities before the age of eighteen, that's a sixteen years old cant be offered admission? I have a daughter who is desirous of studying in the US and she will only be sixteen when she will be out of secondary school by next year.

Again, what are the chances of relocating to America for a Nigerian family of five, now that Visa lottery is no more open for the country?

And lastly, which university offer the most cost-effective studies but high educational standard?

Thank you for anticipated response.
1 You daughter can get into University even at her age if she writes and passes her SAT and gets admission into a college

2. Migrating with a family of 5 is harddd!!!! especially since you all wont even have papers dont even try it. Thats what I would say

Dee'aba:
What are my chances of gaining admission into any university in the US for masters. I studied sociology and anthropology an I finished with a 2.2 3.3cgpa. I want 2 go into management. Do I have any chance?
Honestly my brother I would advise you consider a career change. What would you do with Sociology in Nigeria not to talk of in America

Those courses are reserved for born Americans and they dont pay much

I knew one person born American who was studying Engineering but said it wasnt allowing her enjoy College life so she dropped to Sociology. After graduation she couldnt get a job while her Engineering colleagues were getting 60k jobs fresh out of college, She had to go to Law school after

You might have to consider something in the Medical, Engineering, IT field. Those fields pay much more and are easier to enter for immigrants

Nice one Osisi for opening this thread

I would advise anyone in Nigeria who wants to come to US to do so, Its truly a land flowing with milk and honey if you know what to do.

First of all come with a mind of going to school and learning new skills, Be flexible, Have an open mind and not a defeatist attitude

I came to US in 2008 August and I can only thank God for the opportunity. I have several friends on this same Nairaland whom I met here that came around 2010 and are doing verrrry goood

I know 3 of them who comes to visit me regularly and we talk all of them make between 75k and 110k a yr, The three of them came in 2010.

America has been good to me and I would advise anyone with drive to succeed to come

NB: I had an excellent job in Nigeria before leaving and still havent regretted any day of it

The best thing is to divorce him like you said, Because your husband too would have seen the change in your attitude and he is probably waiting for him to get back on his feet before he shows you.

you might need to check out vieira's honours before mouthing off about henry. henry being in back to back PFA teams is easily matched by vieira as well & vieira was the sportswriters player of the season in 2001. he was france's top scorer in fifa confed cup & france's player of the year before they went to Korea/japan!
Sportswriter player of the year lol why not pornwatchers player of the year

2002 was even the first competition Vieira would be a starter for France

StarBoard: Henry wasn't Arsenal"s biggest player that year sef.
Pires(who missed the world cup due to injury) and Vieira were ahead of him as Frenchmen. Wiltoord was arguably more important to the French side than Henry given his exploits at saving France at Euro 2000.
Not to mention Zizou, Trez, Makelele, Djorkaeff.
Are you trolling?

You mean A sub like Wiltord is more important that the Highest goal scorer in the EPL? How was Pires more important than Henry in Arsenal pre 2002 world cup

As at 2002, makelele wasnt a starter for France
