chaircover: Dayo Yes you are right people can and sometimes do change with time, I have seen warring couples at each others throats and it amazes me how love so swiftly turned into so much hatred. Ok. Since you have seen this by yourself. Would you have in your wildest moments ever have imagined they would be where they are today?. Thats the reality of life. And you need to plan for it Still . . . marriage is stressful enough on its own without me having to worry about if the man I am married to is only with me because of my money or vice versa and having to call my lawyer to update the prenup each time I make another million or he comes home late Do you need to update a prenup? Its actually easy than what you are saying, It doesnt involve complex calculus like you are implying, moreover thats the job of the Lawyer. If you put effort into making money, I am sure you shouldnt mind putting a little efoort into safeguarding it. Many of our lives & reasoning is shaped by personal experience and these are my personal opinions which dont necessarily have to agree with anyone elses Most things we know and that shapes our opinions need not happen to us personally, You dont need to be ran over by a car for you to know you have to sprint when on the roads I personally dont see marriage as a business deal/contract or whatever. Marriage involves emotion; and in my book business and emotion do not go well together. But when things go burst, The emotions of being hurt would be used against you and makes one irrational atimes. I have nothing to hide but for me personally I wont be signing any prenup regardless on which side of the table I am sitting. Left to me I'd rather marry from my class; its less stressful that way & If we do end up making millions together then fair enough Still the uncertainty that comes with it. A hardworking guy of today might just start tomorrow playing baba Ijebu and hope to make millions somehow, WHile you are slaving away, He is contented with his wife bringing in the money while he whispers his sweet nothing and share it. basically he becomes a full time bum while you slave away. And when you attempt to walk away and divorce his a55, he taps your shoulder and ask for his 50% of the money you worked for while he was sitting at home playing PS3 and waiting to win his own baba Ijebu money. I know a friends elder sister who married a guy like that and were doing well for a while, the guy lost his job in 2001 and since then he has been living on dreams of travelling to canada while his wife a Chartered accountant slaves away. |
Politics › Re: Buhari In Onitsha, Promises Improved Power Supply Only by dayokanu(m): 5:18pm On Apr 07, 2011 |
gernded: The presidential candidate of Congress for Progressive Change, General Mohammadu Burhari (retd) yesterday stormed Onitsha, the nerve centre of Anambra State, and pledged to transform Nigeria into an ideal one where life will be more meaningful for the masses. Buhari, whose convoy arrived the Old Trinity venue of his campaign, did not waste any second before mounting the rostrum to deliver his short but power-packed message in which he promised to improve on the general infrastructure.
He said he would make the nation’s power industry to return to full capacity and cover the whole country . The CPC presidential candidate said all those who would be elected on the platform of the party would be fully accountable to the people. According to him, the nation’s infrastructure was presently in a deplorable condition and would be transformed as soon as he assumed office as president.
He also promised of adequate security for the citizenry as against the present state of insecurity in the nation. Buhari said the CPC government at the centre would ensure that members of the armed forces would be made to operate at full capacity and be provided with the facilities to protect life and property of Nigerians. On roads, the CPC presidential flag bearer said his government would provide rural roads as part of the effort to bring down the cost of transportation and food supply. He seized the opportunity to introduce some of the candidates of the party in the state. Those presented to the people included Professor Nonso Majekwu, who is contesting the Senatorial seat for Anambra South Senatorial Zone, Chief Emma Nweke, for Anambra Central and Chief Chuka Modebe for the House of Representatives .
WHAT I WANT TO INSERT HERE IF THIS ARE ALL WHAT BUHARI SAID IN ANAMBRA,
Been a state where your party looked down on he would have addressed the issue once and for all.
CPC CHAIRMAN SOUTH SOUTH
presidential candidate of Congress for Progressive Change, General Mohammadu Burhari NORTH
RUNNING MATE: SOUTH WEST.
what happen to south East ?
if Buhari is a good politician he would have address the issue and woe some little vote for himself.
i am sure Achebe and Onitsha people will laugh him after the meeting this man no nothing about democratic campaign .
My last message to him this:Buharia your campaign to your base biko. How does the part in bold agree with your topic of thread which says "ONLY" I dont know you but I suspect you are a GEJ supprter just by your dysfunctional level of reasoning and blatant lies. Prove me wrong pls |

chaircover: SA Lady thank you very much for that question and I am glad that someone has finally belled the cat.
As for me personally, I wouldn't marry anyone waving a prenup in front of me. I don't care if he is richer than Bill Gates.
Call me emotional (not a crime actually to be in touch with ones emotions) but that is a debate for another day but to me Prenups leave a bad taste in my mouth and I interpret it as someone loving his money more than he loves me.
And yes if the shoe was on the other foot and I was mega rich and felt that I couldn't trust my partner not to want to take me to the cleaners, then I wouldn't marry him full stop.
IMO Prenups are for people who are not sure of the other persons intentions. . . . . so maybe they shouldn't really be getting married to this person anyway.
How can you be even thinking about who gets what even before the ring goes on the finger? Marriage is not a business contract.
I hate to say this but to save a lot of wahala, why not just marry someone in the same class as you or better still just marry your millions? Most of your opinion here are far too idealistic and borderline Shakespearean. The people you see killing themselves in marriage today, Do you know they loved themselves at some point in Time? Do you think anyone would knowingly marry his/her enemy or someone they cant trust? Its just a realist in people that makes them know that people change over time, and make provision for it. If people get insurance, is it because they were planning to be involved in accidents or they were reckless drivers? The sweetheart of today might become a monster tomorrow, The pauper of today might become a millionaire tommorow, the playboy of today might become a devoted father tomorrow while the virtuous woman of today might become a stripper next yr and no Psychological/scientific evaluation can predict this change in human behaviour ahead of time. The next best thing is to make provision for such unbudgeted for changes, Even in Accounting its called the prudent concept and in Life called Realism |

A lot of Hausas and Yorubas are well positioned to benefit from the perpetuation of the corrupt PDP rule.

Politics › Re: Buhari Live In Lagos (pictures) by dayokanu(m): 12:38am On Apr 07, 2011 |
Eziachi: My brother/friend, If I can tell you how really worried I am for the Igbo nation now you cannot believe it. This year/election alone whatever remain of Ndigbo in their so called Nigeria has been decimated. First they pushed off ogbulafor for trying to say the truth and overnight they hanged a corrupt charges over his head and he went silent. In comes Okwy nwodo, willing and able to dance to their tune with the first music of zoning is dead and the rest is now history. When they got their wish, Nwodo misunderstood his important when he tried to instill real democratic process against the mighty governors and he was immediately told that he was no longer needed. The governors made Jonathan and Jonathan promised them automatic ticket or the chance to choose their successors, so who is Nwodo and Jonathaan immediatly sacrificed him. And Nwodo was handed out the most disgraceful treatment ever to be metted out to any NIGERIAN politiician since Shugaba.
So in just one stroke NDIGBO practically killed zoning, so a northerner get nwodo's position. Why not? after all zoning is dead and they will even get the biggest shock after the election because after all zoning is dead.
But don't get me wrong, I am not an advocate of zoning as a means of finding good leaders but this is NIGERIA, to survive you have to know how and when to play the game to survive. Now as we speak, Ndigbo is dead in PDP and what did the oppostion from Igbo land did courtesy of APGA? We don't have a presidential candidate- Jonathan is now one of us and he is our inlaw, he will get our 100% vote and Oheneze seconded with amen because as they madly believed GEJ will handover to them in 2015 and then went up north promising CIROMA and others, that by 2015, the presidency is there own for take. whether this last gimmick by APGA/OHANEZE has the final blessing of Our IKEMBA, no one can tell as PETER OBI is now more PDP than Jonathan himself, how quickly people forget. So Ndigbo has succeeded in putting all their eggs in one basket and their is no backup left. Compared that scenario to the Yoruba's. Love them or hate them they understood the politics of crooked Nigeria. If Buhari is to win, hurray! they are number two without asking. If Jonathan winS, Obasanjo is still in charge. No matter what happened in this election, both Buhari/Jonathan has vow not to be involved in 2015 and if their words is to be kept, the YORUBA has a standby and untainted gold bar like candidate positioned for 2015 in Fashola.
If this election is to end up in a run-off, ACN populated by the Yorubas will be the bride and meanwhile there is every chance that they will recover everything they lost in 2003 in Yorubaland because JONATHAN dare ot rig there as he is desperate to get their vote to upset Buhari, so any rigging like that of 2003 is a dooms day for him, so he was willing to sacrifice the likes of Gbenga Daniel.
Look at even our backyard in Akwa Ibom, ACN is well positioned today to snatch it away from Akpabio/PDP and only few months ago, there is no such thing as ACN over there. What stopped APGA harvesting what ACN is now reaping in Akwa Ibom? Bad politics and bad leadership. What stopped Peter Obi becoming a Tinubu in Igboland when our icon is ready to do anything for him? Lack of foresightedness.
So after this election, whatever remained of Nigeria, Ndigbo may find themselves where they were in 1970 despite what my generation has suffered and endured for this generation and if Ojukwu finally is to die? Its not even worth thinking about. Great post by Eziachi. Great post. Most ppl dont understand the politics of Nigeria. If GEJ wins, I would like to reference Eziachis post in 2015 when the chicken come to roost |
