I don't think i'd use the phrase 'in return'. . It suggests that i'm giving things with the goal of getting something back. Let's just say we'd give each other things simultaneously. I would expect him to give me said things,but i wouldn't really ask. It shouldn't be a case of me pushing him to give but rather it should be because he's giving from his heart. If he loves me then it wouldn't be a chore. In like manner,i would give him emotional support,my time,my energy etc. I wouldn't give him said things because i'm expecting credit or worreva,i'd give him out of my heart. If you truly love someone,then giving won't be a chore,it would be a privilege. Being generous financially((and in other ways) to whichever extent you are able to will come naturally.
