Dewze: yes. You are very right that all these happened in the 'past'. Christianity and the catholic church in particular has 'outgrown' this. The only wise means to judge and assess any progressive instituition is to compare its past with its present. As for such comparism there is no doubt how progressive the church as been over time.yes you are correct. but do you agree that they - Christianity - are still trying to control us through the back door? |
4 Play: Did your mother drop you on your head when you were a baby? It's like the ignoramuses' Olympics on this thread. My main point is, shouldn't we as Africans, modernise our traditional beliefs and package it to the world also? Rather than be a puppet to Rome/Jerusalem/Mecca? Please listen to Suffering and Smiling by Fela Christianity has a violence past, accept it, it is well documented. The aim of both religions - Christianity and Islam - is to enlarge their global footprint as much as possible. Hardline Islamists have not accepted that in the modern world that we live in, it has to be done by winning hearts and minds not by declaring a jihad. |
kegel: Foolish talk.My prayer is for both Islam/Christianity to leave Nigeria and by extension Africa. You need to go back to your history book to find our both religions has become so big through violence and intimidation. Until today, they are both still fighting for global supremacy, and Africans are being used as puppets to detriment of 'our own peaceful' religions |
texazzpete: Tell me when the Pope has ordered his adherents to wipe out another race/country? Tell me when the Pope has advocated for violence and bloodshed to achieve religious revolution. Are you serious? You think the Catholic church has become as big and influential as it is today simply by distributing leaflets? Have you heard of the Spanish inquisition? The Crusades? Closer to home, How did Catholicism became the defacto religion in SE Nigeria? Were they not help by violence and intimidation? If you do not understand my point, please say so and I will clarify. |
as a south westerner, I can categorically say, I do not plan to vote for any northerner |
Muslims serving Arab interests, Christians serving western interest. When will Africans wake up? What is the difference between Catholics swearing allegiance to the pope and this Zakzazy fool doing the same to the ayatollah? |
god..white guy Satan....black guy |
when did cancer become a major problem in Nigeria? have they ever made such sponsored run for disease that affect the poor like malaria, typhoid, cholera? I guess because they never do sponsored walk/run for these diseases abroad therefore they are not worth it. When are we going to stop deceiving our sekves in this country? |
who will do the lecturing ..professors that did not study herbal medicine? Or real specialist in herbal medicine that have not been opportuned to get letters after their name? I hope its the latter. While we are on the matter of going back to our roots, is it not time our lawyers remove that disgusting colonial mentality wig from their heads? |
