otunsman: Let us be frank buhari never had secondary certificate. He enlisted into the army through a letter of recommendation from his primary school Principal.Even when his former school decided to produce his certificate,it was not genuine as there were lots of discrepancy. It is a norm in the north. Look at comptroller of custom,Abdullahi dikko, who forged his school cert.He was shielded to continue his service as custom boss.

Yhunoos: A federal court in Abuja has granted former Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, and his two sons, bail.
They are to be released from prison once the bail conditions are met. Mr. Lamido and his sons are facing money laundering charges, brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
They were arraigned last week in Kano, and were later remanded pending their bail application hearing on September 28.
The Lamidos were however transferred secretly to Kuje prison in Abuja on Monday, ahead of a hearing Tuesday, after another judge was assigned to consider the bail application.
lekinz: There are some certain times in life where all you do is listen and believe people's talks and suggestions buh as you grow older you tend to laugh it off and make a fool of yourself for believing those tales. Sitting down reminiscing, you wonder how you never thought twice about those talks which I refer to as beliefs or superstitions. Don't let me bore you any longer, let the party begin, these are the 10 beliefs I can pen down.
ALL STUDENT WITH GLASSES ARE NERDS : I remembered during secondary school days whereby we are always "scared" of student with recommended glasses, we tend to believe that all students with glasses are 9ja Albert Einstein, dunno maybe it's the way they all behave or the way the glasses are being made. Awon eyan Harry Porter..
ALL HAIRY WOMEN ARE WICKED: I've always wondered how I came about this belief, how does being hairy makes one wicked, is there a particular gene that triggers the wickedness or is "Mama G" Patience Ozokwor also hairy
COCONUT WATER/JUICE DULLS THE BRAIN: I once saw the ingredients mixed together for intelligence vaccine and coconut water was also listed, how come that sweet juice dulls the brain
IJEBU PEOPLE ARE STINGY : Ijebu is a local Government area and city located in the South-West Nigeria. I've always heard people complain about "The Ijebus", Ijebu people are stingy, they don't spend money, they don't give out cash. Are they born with "Stingy" gene or there's a particular trait that brings that up, how come na only them ?? I still can't fathom the stinginess thing ... Abi one needs to trace KingTom's background cos errm
WHISTLING AT NIGHT ATTRACTS SNAKES: My grandmother once told me that whistling at night attracts snakes and evil sprits, how come ??... What if am living in banana island where there ain't no habitat for snakes, will they ( snakes) travel all the way from my village to meet me here in Lagos. At times I get lost in my thought maybe Lekinz wasn't my name, maybe am "Mowgli, the Jungle Boy".
ALLOWING BIRD'S POO ON ONE'S HEAD BRINGS GOOD LUCK/WISDOM :This do cracks me up a lot, I've made researches all because of this SHIT$, does the $HIT contains any supernatural power or the components that makes it up is the same thing Daniel ate in the bible ..
PUTTING A PIECE OF BROOMSTICK ON YOUR HAIR WILL CURE/STOP HICCUPS: This also applies to wool, there are many times in high school those days where you see students with a piece of broomstick and you wonder if that's a new trend or fashion. I once asked a friend about the broomstick, all he could say was " I hear sey e dey stop am and me self don try am, na true buh if you dey ask me to tell you how, I can't categorically tell you cos my Oga at the top self no tell me .. That's all".
EVERY NORTHERNER IS EITHER A SHOEMAKER OR A KIOSK OWNER( Aboki): I don't know maybe people do forget that one of the richest black man in Africa is a northerner abi ALIKO DANGOTE hails from the west part of Nigeria. Seeing a kiosk owner, one's first word is "Aboki", I know Aboki means my friend buh here in Lagos and other part of Nigeria it is been translated as Mallam or Hausa, what if the kiosk owner is Baba Biliki or Baba Mulikat.
ANYONE WITH "CRAZY HAIRSTYLE" IS IRRESPONSIBLE : The word crazy above doesn't mean the crazy from Oxford Dictionary, it was cropped out from Lekinz 2015th edition dictionary. I can't tell you the definition cos my Oga at the top can decide to change it in the coming edition but will give examples, people with hairstyles like Gallas, dread etc are being refer to as irresponsible folks, because I decide to barb one part and leave the other parts am irresponsible .. So if I decide to have a cut like Papa Ajaso's. Am termed responsible

Lordabas: Why is it that non-virgin women feel that they have the right to wear white when they finally decide to get married after years & years & years & years of having premarital sex and shaking up with their boyfriends?
Is it that they want to pretend they're pure and clean after romping around in the mud?
I recently went to a wedding where the bride had been living with her bf for 8yrs & already had 2 kids for him... Yet she still wore a pure white wedding gown. The white gown is supposed to symbolize a brides purity & virginal essence. I feel it destroys the traditional purpose of wearing white when the bride is FAR from being a virgin.
Shouldn't the non-virginal bride wear a black wedding dress or something?
There is noting like white wedding homie'' d bible only recognise family approval' obviously, traditional wedding'. Christian/muslim wedding are borrowed ceremonial games to milk up couples

DaPhilosopher: When I called my mother from prison to tell her I’d been pardoned after 10 years in jail, she fainted.
I was told they had to pour water on her to revive her. Later, when she saw me for the first time after all those years in jail, she grabbed me and held me so tight. She wouldn’t let go for almost 15 minutes. The whole time she had tears of joy streaming from her eyes.
Football and juice: celebrating with my death row friends
I was also overwhelmed with joy when I found out about my pardon, at 4pm on 28 May. Initially I couldn’t even speak, I was so happy.
The day after hearing the news, I celebrated in prison by organising a football match between death row inmates and other prison inmates. I’d been the death row team football coach during my time in prison. We won the match 3-0! Everyone was so happy to play.
That Sunday I went to the prison church. I bought some biscuits and fruit juice to share with other inmates in church and an announcement was made that I was being released. Everyone was happy. I had friends in prison; I had been teaching English and Maths to fellow inmates and those students who were keen became my friends.
I was released a few days later. That first evening at home, my mother prepared a special dish – Okro soup with beef. The whole family ate together at the dining table. Afterwards, there was a party with family friends and we sang songs, played music and prayed.
We prayed for all the activists who campaigned for my release, those from Amnesty international and Justine Ijeomah [the Director of HURSDEF, Nigeria’s Human Rights Social Development and Environmental Foundation] and his wife, Goodness Justine. Drinks were shared around with everyone at the party.
The sleep of the free
The first night I slept in my new bed, I slept so well. What struck me most was that at 5am, I did not hear the prison wake-up bell. I waited for it, and then realised that it was not a dream, but in fact I really am free.
When I realised that, I felt freedom deep in my spirit. Things had changed for good. I went back to sleep and slept until 10am, fully enjoying my ‘freedom sleep’. My family came to wake me up but I told them to let me sleep longer. It was such a good sleep.
In those first days of freedom I bumped into an old school friend and he looked at me like he’d seen a ghost.
We have a local belief that if you pour sand on a spirit it will vanish, and he started to pick up sand from the ground and pour it on my body! I told him – ‘don’t pour sand on me, I’m alive, I’m not a ghost!’ At that, he touched me and hugged me: he thought I had been executed.
He told me he would never forget the last time he saw me before my arrest 10 years ago.
At home, everything felt strange to me, even though I’m so relieved to be free. Lots of things have changed in the 10 years since I was arrested: new bridges have been built and the use of laptop computers and phones is common now.
People keep asking me ‘What happened to your finger?
[After I was arrested] my fingernails and toenails were pulled out. The scars people see are the lasting marks that torture has left me with. When I wear sandals, seeing my toes reminds me of what I went through.
Torture affects people in so many ways. It’s inhuman: heating cutlasses on a fire and then flogging a person’s back is barbaric. It affects people mentally: it causes madness. They pass out because of the pain and admit to things they never did.
What I went through – the torture and being on death row – affected me in so many ways. It affected my plans for life and my ambitions at school. I spent ten years in jail. By now I could have finished school and have started working.
What struck me most is that you can live in a country where you can face so much tragedy for no reason, and yet still have to live there. I will always pray for change in Nigeria, but I advise others living here to be very careful, so that they will not fall victim to what I went through.
I’m joining the fight against torture
My plans now I’m free are to continue my education and get as far as I always dreamt – I want to be a doctor to fulfill my late father’s wishes.
But I’ll also be a human rights activist and help others who face the same challenges that I did. I have already filled out an application form and had a passport photo taken – the requirements for becoming a volunteer activist with HURSDEF.
The Director, Justine, welcomed me warmly as ‘Comrade Moses Akatugba’. I told him: Justine, I’m joining the fight against torture so that others will not go through the pain that I did.
If I have my way, and can stop torture, I will be the happiest man on earth. I don’t want any future generation to go through what I went through in that torture chamber.
Moses Akatugba was tortured to confess to a crime he says he never committed. His ‘confession’ was then used to sentence him to death.
On 28 May 2015, Moses was pardoned after nearly 10 years in jail. Over 800,000 of you around the world took action demanding justice

musiwax: Based on the earlier thread supporting the iPhone, I had to create a rebuttal thread so that people will know what they are signing up for when they decide to go down the rabbit hole of the Android OS.
For the purpose of this review, there would be a lot of references to iPhone 6 and Samsung galaxy S6.
1. You prefer the more intuitive and user-friendly, albeit less feature-rich platform/user interface combination Despite the fact that the most recent iteration of TouchWiz is now more streamlined and intuitive than ever, iOS is still ahead of it in terms of overall performance. TouchWiz UI on the Galaxy S6 still feels "heavy" from time to time, and while it lags less than it did on Samsung's previous flagship offerings, we can't say that it is a better offering than iOS. On the contrary, the latter offers a more hassle-free experience all over the board. Of course, Android and TouchWiz in particular are the epitome of a feature-rich combination between a mobile platform and UI, but this might not be a definite plus for every consumer.
2. You don't want oily fingerprint smudges at the back of your phone
The Gorilla Glass 4-covered back of the Galaxy S6 looks strikingly good and provides a good grip, but wait until you handle the device for a while. Chances are that the rear of your shiny new Samsung flagship will be covered with oily smudges and greasy fingerprint marks. Of course, there's no way that can be remotely appealing. The iPhone 6 holds virtually no smudges thanks to its aluminium rear. The latter, however, is not as grippy as its Samsung rival.
3. You want a metal phone
Despite that the Galaxy S6 and the S6 edge are pretty much on par with the iPhone 6 in terms of exterior design, there might be some users that don't feel comfortable with the Gorilla Glass back of the Samsung flagships. As a refresher, Apple also made use of glass in two of its previous iPhone offerings, the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4s.
4. You want a top-performing all-around device
Say what you want about Apple's iPhones, but you can't argue that they hardly ever exhibit major flaws or issues that turn customers off. Unlike certain Android flagships from the current and last year, which brought issues that we're quite hard to swallow, you can usually count on the iPhone's consistency and reliability. Yes, the iPhone 6 doesn't have an SpO2 sensor or a laser-assisted auto-focus, but it surely takes drool-worthy photos and has a predictable battery life.
5. You want timely OS updates
When a new major version of iOS gets released to the public, the majority of iOS users receive the update in a matter of hours - there's little waiting involved. On the other hand, no matter how much Samsung is poised to keep its flagships running the newest Android version, updating its Android flagships will take significantly longer.
6. You care about the whole experience
From the hardware to the software, Apple takes care of everything iPhone-related. Normally, this ensures that all aspects of the device are tailored to work seamlessly between one another and provide an almost-unrivaled user experience on all fronts. Optimization and the fruitful marriage between software and hardware is one of the most noteworthy aspects of an iPhone. We don't say that you will be disappointed by the Galaxy S6, but you'll probably have to wait a little longer before you can enjoy a similar overall experience on Samsung flagship.
7. iPhones get the best apps first. Even though the iPhone has a smaller market share, developers still tend to make the best apps for iOS first. Yes, you can find most of the same popular apps on Android, but they don't always have the better features and designs. If you care about having the best apps on your phone, you're better off with iPhone.
8. No Android Phone Can Match IPhones' Fingerprint Sensor
Some Android phone makers like Samsung and HTC have tried adding fingerprint sensors to their phones, but none of them are as useful and accurate as the TouchID sensor on the iPhone. A few years ago, Apple bought a company called Authentec that makes the best fingerprint sensors for mobile devices. No one else has been able to beat TouchID since.
9. Few Android Cameras Can Compare With IPhone 6'S Camera
There are very few Android phones that have cameras as good as the one on the iPhone 6 (The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 stands out pretty well though). iPhone 6's camera takes great photos, and includes nifty features like the ability to shoot slow-motion and time lapse videos.
Plus, rumour has it the next iPhone will have a camera that rivals DSLRs.
Further review by me. My review is based on personal experience with two flagship devices on the platforms (iPhone 6 & Samsung S6), and using each OS over the years.

oatzeal: Hitherto, state governors have been used to getting invitations to impressive and ground-shaking occasions but recently, some of them have gotten invitations they might never have expected.
Having exhausted the much-debated immunity provision in the Nigerian constitution, some ex-governors may be heading to the days of reckoning when they have to pay for their misdeeds if the anti-graft agency remains focused on achieving a conclusive prosecution. With the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) trailing some past governors and grilling them for hours, many of them will never want their paths to cross with that of the commission. Some of the former state executives having cases to answer before the commission are:
1. Ikedi Ohakim
If former governor of Imo State, Ikedi Ohakim, had been informed that operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) would knock at his door at about 8am in his Asokoro residence on Thursday, June 18, to arrest him, he may probably have changed his direction and hurried out of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). But that was not to be and his immunity as governor haven long been exhausted, EFCC officials stormed his residence in one of the choice areas in the FCT; an area which is regarded as an exclusive enclave for the rich and the powerful.
Ohakim was arrested over a number of properties he allegedly acquired which the anti-graft agency had traced to his name. Also, the cases brought against him include alleged misappropriation of N18bn bond loans obtained on behalf of Imo State government. This is just as he is being investigated for alleged cash withdrawals of about N1bn from the state account a day before he left office as governor. The ex-governor had earlier been invited by the commission but he failed to honour the invitation. His failure then sparked off the arrest.
The former governor may not be at the best of his times now as he has come under close watch of the EFCC. He has been arrested, interrogated and later released but he does not know what may be his fate at the end of the day, a reason why he may even be more apprehensive.
2. Sule Lamido
Similarly, the immediate past governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, has also come under the watch and grip of the EFCC. Lamido was invited for questioning by the anti-graft agency penultimate Thursday. Like a gentleman, he cooperated and honoured the invitation but that did not pacify the EFCC nor end the case against him; it is only a smooth beginning in digging deep into the charges made against him.
Lamido is being accused of huge financial fraud running into billions of naira. The questions Lamido has to provide answers to border on contracts which his government awarded to companies which are linked to his family members. Also, the ex-governor had been blacklisted since the EFCC arrested his sons last year for alleged stealing of Jigawa State government funds and laundering which they allegedly committed through their company accounts.
3. Timipre Sylva
Former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva, is among the former governors who tangled with the EFCC at the termination of their tenure as state executives. Therefore, he may not be having maximum sleep as each night passes. Sylva has been standing trial over a six-count criminal charge brought against him by the commission ranging from alleged masterminding of illegal diversion of state government funds from the coffers of Bayelsa State during his tenure to other offences. Among the offences are embezzlement of over N6.5 billion from the treasury of the small oil-rich state between October 2009 and February, 2010 - just a period of 4 months.
In a recent trial, Sylva was ordered to submit all his international passports to the registrar of an Abuja high court where the case was being heard. He was also granted bail in the sum of a towering N100m and was further ordered to secure an Abuja resident who must be an owner of landed property worth the bail sum as surety to avert the chances that the ex-governor may 'jump' bail. His case with the anti-graft agency was as serious as this.
Apart from this, the former Bayelsa governor also faced another 42-count charge in an Abuja high court, along with six others for allegedly stealing N19.2bn from the treasury of the state. However, in a rather controversial decision, Justice A.R Mohammed of the Abuja Federal High Court recently dismissed the case against the once-embattled former governor.
4. Martin Elechi
Just like some of his counterparts, the former Ebonyi State governor, Martin Elechi, is not having it too rosy with the EFCC. Elechi was on Tuesday, June 16, summoned by the commission for interrogation. Accusations against the septuagenarian include alleged theft of millions of naira in the asphalt contract for the state's 13 local government areas. The contract was said to be shoddily executed and was allegedly awarded to the former governor's son, Elechi Nnanna Elechi.
For instance, out of 13 local governments in the state, the contract was executed in only six local government areas, leaving seven unattended to. This is notwithstanding that money had been made available for the contract execution.
In addition, Elechi is also facing hard times with EFCC over misappropriation of funds provided to be used for centenary celebration. That's not all. Elechi was further interrogated over deductions made from stabilization fund account.
Elechi's son, Nnanna had been arrested by the EFCC earlier in January this year over alleged corrupt and fraudulent dealings. However, under the immunity clause by which he was adequately galvanized as a state governor, the anti-graft body could not lay hands on him but waited for the right time which is now. Whether Elechi would be found guilty, jailed or compelled to return the money in question to the suffering treasury of Ebonyi State is not clear yet. Only time will tell as EFCC continues to sniff around towards conclusion of the case.
5. Murtala Nyako
Former governor of Adamawa State, Murtala Nyako, has been having it rough with the EFCC since July, 2014 following allegations of financial crimes leveled against him.
It will be recalled that Nyako with his deputy, Bala Ngilari, was impeached by the Adamawa State House of Assembly for gross financial fraud on July 16, 2014 and was later declared wanted by the anti-graft agency alongside his son Abdul Aziz Murtala Nyako, a retired naval officer, in February this year. Both were wanted for alleged criminal conspiracy, stealing, abuse of office and money laundering.
However, at the commencement of the EFCC's investigations, Nyako left the country. He returned only nearly a year later and visited the commission to answer some questions. Following his return and subsequent turning in at the commission's office, the former governor was held and grilled for hours over allegation of money laundering running into N15bn. But Nyako was later released on what the EFCC Spokesperson, Mr Wilson Uwujaren, described as "administrative bail". Mr. Uwujaren said the former governor, who is 73, was also released based on his age and health situation.
Since when the charges were instituted against Nyako and his son, the former governor has attributed his travail to witch-hunting and selective justice perpetrated by the immediate past administration of President Goodluck Jonathan which he has severally accused of witch-hunting him for speaking the truth.
The commission had alleged massive looting of the treasury by top officials of Adamawa State government under Mr. Nyako, a development that, at the time, led to the arrest and questioning of key officials, including then secretary to the state government, the then state commissioner for finance, the then commissioner for higher education, the then accountant general of the state and the then permanent secretary, ministry for local Government.
6. Ibrahim Shema
The searchlight of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is also beaming bright on Kastina State. In a move to ensure that former Katsina State governor, Ibrahim Shema, gives account of how he spent the state's resources while in power, the EFCC recently invited four top officials of the state government for questioning over some financial transactions.
The Commission invited four officials of the Katsina State government to clarify issues related to financial misappropriations in the last four years of Shema in power between 2011 and 2015, even as the former governor was reported to have travelled out of the country.
The officials who were invited include permanent secretaries of the ministries of works and agriculture; the managing director of the Katsina Road Maintenance Agency (KASAROMA) and the state accountant general.
The EFCC directed the officials to come with various official documents bordering on contracts awarded between 2011 and 2015, annual budgets from 2011 to 2015, actual funds released to the ministries/agencies from 2011 to May 2015, funds released to the ministries of agriculture, works, housing, transportation and sports among others .
