Politics › Re: The development problem of Nigeria is not corruption by dblock(m): 10:19pm On Jan 31, 2007
My father was in the Nigerian educational system when it was still good. Three of Nigeria's Universities where in Africa's top ten, and the University of Ibadan was recognized as a good Uni worldwide(PS that is why it is still called prestigeous today). The situation in the universities where excellent and the highschools were affordable and had good facilities, but then the government started to pump less money into education and the facilities were not maintained Nigeria started to move backwards. My Grandad couldn't aford to pay for my dad's educational needs, but the government did they payed for him up to the end of Secondary schooling, then he got a scholarship. So any money I have today or maybe even my existence is because of the old Nigerian eductional system, but that is not why I am patriotic wink

Yeah I don't like the architecture, the majority of the buildings look really old and I don't think that's a good thing, because I believe that the only way is forward. Post Modern Architecture or At Deco is the only form of architecture i recognise, but hey what brought me to my conclusions------.Well Heathrow is a pretty good airport, the light issue was probably the bad luck my sister brought but I really do feel that the roads in London aren't wide enough but Spaghetti Junction is doing it for me. But I bet you didn't know that the UN are planning to make a move to prevent the construction of highrises in a lot of locations in London, that move will be the world's biggest ever narrow minded intervention. I'll stop dissing London now cos I don't wanna make my relatives that live there pissed grin

Donald Duke is better than Yar'adua by far but Duke can't win and the reason his campaign was withdrawn wasn't because of OBJ but due to the fact that he couldn't compete withe the corrupt leaders financially and he isn't a main man in politics

Here's a pointer how bout you point out that millions of people from different countries and backgrounds smoke, and that smoking is like a universal language. And that smoking although it may be harmful is a substnace that, It is so hard to argue for something that is so Bad sad

I do not represent Australia and I wouldn't be offended if you insulted the place. I do not judge places based on comparism but on how good they can or should be. You compare Peckham with Victoria Island(I'm not going to comment on your comparism), but I see your comparism as saying Soddom is better than hell, I am not implying that Victoria Island is hell or any place in Nigeria as a matter of fact, because the issue here is not Nigeria or Australia, it's London
The whole of Australia was still a prisonyard when some of those buildings were ercted. Show some respect dude.
Dude Australia was initially constructed by the English(Well their Convicts), so you fellas should take some responsibilty aswell.

I hate to be a Hypocrite and compare but the Estates in Australia and even in some parts of Victoria Island are better than London in General(Note I say General), I am aware that London has it's top notch surburbs, which are way better than V.I (I've seen em), but in General the Housing in London is useless for a developed country.

A wise Guy(My Dad) once said to me that Nigerians have to help nigerians in all aspects of life, because that's what other people do grin

Who says London is crap, all your aussie/kiwi brethren in clapham cannot get enough of this vibrant city
I've been to the place and based on what I have seen the place is crap, It is indeed a city with good infrastructure and it is one of the hottest tourist destinations in the world, and compared to Nigerian cities it is an oasis, but all of those things doesn't make it a good city. Some parts of London for example are as dangerous as in developing countries, for example Peckham, how many people that live in Peckham, London go out at night, but enough abot Peckham, I don't wann make my uncle pissed he lives there. Let's see, how about the architecture, that is what annoys me the most, so much of Britains Medieval Architecture has been preserved that the city looks like some medieval cluster. If that is not enough reason to say that the city is crap then how about the electricity in the areas with a high immigrant density, This is not a speculation, trust me I know I've experienced it, Poor dblock is sleeping in the afternoon with the radiator on(Freakin cold weather) when boom the power goes off, cos of some cheap transformer, had to wait three hours for the gays to replace it, the whole freaking area was in darkness. Oh yeah I almost forgot the subway, the condition of the trains are almost as bad as NewYorks, freakin pis everywhere, wannabee gangstas playing their boom boxes inconsiderately and if that's not bad enough the trains sometimes emerge into the most unpleasent neighbourhoods But on amore posotive note, London is a cultural centre where all sorts of people can meet and enjoy God's own sport Football. Oh yeah and the Fish and Chips is the best in the world, butta you folks have to work on you retail undecided

I am so going to get insulted for this post, there are at least a 100 londoners on this forum, but Hey this post wans't intended to create any tension whatsoever, butta a Bro's gotta speak the truth, even if it ay appaer distorted.
