theV0ice:You overkilled it there. So apt a comment! If elections in Nigeria were not more about tribe, region and religion than performance was OBJ supposed to defeat Falae in 1999 and then win again in 2003? Was Yaradua supposed to win 2006 PDP primaries which Donald Duke too showed interest in? Was Fashola not supposed to have been APC's candidate if Nigerians were known to vote based on ONLY performance rather than mundane considerations of religion, tribe and primordial sentiments? Was even GEJ supposed to have emerged the PDP candidate in 2011 let alone 2015? In fact if Nigerian voters were being purely guided by performance and ideology alone would APC or PDP be ruling us right now? |
ATERI:Could you enumerate some these leadership qualities you applaud Ribadu with? I am all ears please. |
Ordinarily one would have expected Ben Bruce to give this award to GEJ his brother especially at a time the latter is being famed for conceding defeat at the 2015 polls. But the fact that Bruce decided to give it to Tinubu can only mean that most enlightened SS politicians don't buy into the SE invented theory that Tinubu's expression of his freedom of association by aligning with the North translated to a betrayal of GEJ. Beyond the superficial rage on GEJ's electoral defeat the SS politicians obviously seem to understand that GEJ to on his own part failed to play his card well as regards sustaining the unity of the South and solidarity of the Middle Belt which both determined his victory in 2011. |
In actual fact Akoko-Edo people also adopt Nupe names due to interference with Nupe slave traders before the arrival of European slave traders. It is common to find in Akoko-Edo families bearing borrowed Nupe names as their surnames such Damisa, Zeike, Izekeri, Dawodu, Mayaki, Daniyan, etc., Now does that mean Akoko-Edos are also Nupes? Like I said the older generation of Akoko-Edo understands and speaks Yoruba fluently due to Western Regions politics and policies, but the current younger generation neither understands nor speaks the language. My mum (now 76 years) speaks Yoruba fluently but I her son can't speak it at all because as at when I was born the Yorubalization of Akoko-Edo had started waning and reversing itself. I and my age mates have not named any of our children with Yoruba names. In fact such is now seriously frowned at by elders due to the identity crisis it has caused us over time. |
Well, those who claim Akoko-Edos are yorubas base their assumptions on the Akoko component of the name. This is completely false Akoko-Edo is actually a mixture of 17 different tribes and languages organized into 56 towns and villages. Akoko-Edos are not Yorubas by any historical account or linguistic affinity. Each and everyone of the 17 different languages there have the sounds 'v', 'ch' and 'z' which are missing in Yoruba alphabetical system. Akoko-Edo people might be bearing Yoruba names -which reason I'll explain later, but some native Akoko-Edo names are: Uniamikugbo, Agbanuakozi, Ekohi, Ohiozoje, Asesho, Eshemokhai, Oyoifo, Emasealu, Ashimizo, Simpa, Ovemre, Some others with their meanings are Eneshimeyi (surprise element) Iramofu (aftermath), Ogarashi (pademic), Ukanah (high chief), Eneze (who is good), Umanave (what's in vogue), Iresufozavo (A landmark rock), Ozuren (prayer), Uchacha (grasshopper), Eivochafu (Johnbull), Äniva (imp), Aviogana (broad minded) Ofureku (victor), Asusheyi (slow and steady) Oshiduokakavamevame, etc. I doubt if any of these names could be interpreted in Yoruba language let alone have same meanings in Yoruba. Akoko-Edo people did not bear Yoruba names or speak the language from the beginning. The bearing of Yoruba names by Akoko-Edos started with the bundling of the Western River Niger side Minorities into the Western Region created in 1954 by the colonial masters. The people began bearing Yoruba names and even had Yoruba language included in their schools curriculum in order for them to be able to learn and compete favourably in the then Western Region in which they found themselves without their own making. Once the Midwestern Region was created in 1963 emphasis on bearing Yoruba names and learning the language began to wane until it was finally officially banned by Ogbemudia in 1974 or 5 as Bendel Milad. After the banning it was realized that the Yorubalization of Akoko-Edo had spelt identity crises for the people who were consequently taken for Yorubas even up till today by some people. Attempts are now being made to correct that false impression by way of discouraging the christening of new babies with Yoruba names. In the past 2 decades indigenous names like the ones I listed above have been given to babies on naming ceremonies rather than Yoruba ones. How "Akoko" came into the collective name of the people: The people now called Akoko-Edos were initially referred to as Igarra-Edos as Igarra is the largest settlement there and the HQ. But due to complaints from the other 16 tribes that the use of "Igarra-Edo" was not truly representative of the diversity in the place, it was agreed that Igarra be removed and substituted with a prefix more acceptable to all. But rather than borrow alphabets from each of the tribes names to form a new hybrid name like how the name "BAYELSA" was formed, the people felt that a hybrid made from 17 different languages might be too long to pronounce. So they opted to borrow a prefix from their nearest neighbours i.e. the "Akoko" prefix from the Akoko people of Ondo State. However, the Akoko prefix itself as well did not reflect the diversity in place, and in addition even caused identity crisis. The people in that older generation which took that decision were just somewhat intellectually lazy to thinker out a 17 letter hybrid name (or even an 8 letter name where two tribes with the same name initials share an alphabet) to describe the diversity. However attempts are currently in place to discard the Akoko prefix. That will finally bury all insinuations and perception that Akoko-Edos are Yorubas or Yoruboid. |
You wan try UNIBEST? Even Fashola, the most outstanding governor in Nigeria in the last 8 years and the only minister that has ever been entrusted with three ministries, is a UNIBEN product. |
Quakertellicus1:But with agric we will, at least, stop importing food and retain huge foreign reserve, and both agric and mining will provide us with a rich source of raw materials for that very manufacturing industry you talked of. |
While this is good news on the surface it is quite bad news when looked at more critically in the sense that once the price hits anything above $100 the quest for diversification may begin to wane automatically on the part of the FG and even as well on the part of the masses who love this unitary system that has been kept alive by oil revenue. I was initially praying that crude oil prices remain badly down so that we will return to agriculture and solid minerals mining which would engender a situation whereby no state would agree to toil under the sun farming and minning only to hand over the proceeds to the centre and be given 13% back as derivation as is currently happening to the SS states. In an atmosphere of scanty oil revenue occasioned by badly plummeted oil price thus leading to dependence on agriculture and mining, the agitation for resource control would be spontaneous in all the 36 states. Unfortunately however that has been truncated by this reversal. |
@meccuno, as you rightly observed I don't insult tribes to a very large extent. But It is because firstly I am too concerned with the use of facts and logic to make my point, and secondly because my own tribe is a minority among minorities and therefore relatively unknown hence seldom insulted to warrant an equal reaction from me. The trading of insults here on NL is mostly between Igbo and Yoruba so It does not concern me really. On SLS' thesis that Yorubas are the problem with Nigeria, the following facts and logical inputs makes nonsense of his claims: 1. That in tracing the genesis of Nigeria's problem SLS started from 1962 whereas Nigeria's troubles actually started right from 1914. Of course he shrewdly avoided the period between 1914 and 1960 which was when his Northern brothers massacred Southerners mostly Igbos for flimsy and untenable excuses. 2. In his thesis he never made mention of the born-to-rule philosophy of his own Northern brothers which actuated the attempt to subdue the Western Region and the resultant resistance by Yorubas leading to Awolowo's coup plot. 3. He also failed to mention the North's rigging of the 1962 censuses and 1964 elections which made the Yorubas and Igbos for the first time come together to aim at dislodging the North through the UPGA alliance, and which also precipitated and somewhat justified Nzeogwu's coup. 3. In his attempt to please Igbos by his theory he failed to re-iterate the widely held view among Igbos that Awolowo caused the massacre of thousands of innocent Igbo civilians. What problem is greater than the death of millions of innocent persons in any country? A man who wanted please Igbos by blaming yorubas for Nigeria's woes but failed to include in his account the most popular element of that belief among Igbos themselves was only being cleaver by half. 4. The fact that Jeremiah Useni and Theophilus Danjuma have at different times granted interviews in which they blamed all Nigeria's woes on Igbos by limiting all the issues to the Jan. 15 1966 coup as if there were no pre-1966 and pre-independence factors behind that coup is not different from SLS' thesis that ignored the 1914 to 1962 period where the guilt of the North is located. So neither Useni/Danjuma or SLS is honest for narrating history starting from the middle. 5. That even FFK too has given accounts which heaped all the blames on Igbos and Igbos alone without reserving a single one for either Yorubas or the North. In fact in another account FFK showered immense praises on Awolowo despite the fact that his own father played a vital role in jailing Awolowo. Such is the level of hypocrisy, deceit and self contradictions running through all these accounts by individuals. So if we are to believe SLS then FFK, Danjuma and Useni also have equal rights of being believed. Is what is good for the goose no longer also good for the gander? |

meccuno:When I enter into intellectual debates I only present facts and logic to make my points and also look out for superior facts and logic to dismantle my mine. I would have rather preferred that you factually disprove the points I made against Zik for his fantasy with an unworkable one Nigeria than resort to name calling or tribal mapping which does not negate truth or alter facts. As a very young boy I was brainwashed into believing that Nigeria was unjust and wicked to Igbos for preventing them from having Biafra Republic. The part of Nigeria where I grew up is saturated with such sympathy for Igbos' Biafra and anti-Nigeria resentment, so I was naturally caught in the web by default and I therefore ignorantly carried that sympathy for Igbos and resentment against Nigeria in my heart until I began to lay my hands on books about Nigeria's political history by authors of Different tribes. In them I summarily discovered that Igbos, led by especially Zik, were actually guilty of being first to hold other tribes back in Nigeria as at when they all had seen it that Nigeria would never work. From then on my perception about Igbos vs the rest of Nigeria was reversed. Any honest person -be it Hausa, Fulani, Edo, Ebira, Ibibio, Yoruba, Urhobo, Ijaw, and even Igbo or even a non Nigerian-, who reads enough political history of Nigeria, as far as he remains honest, must come to the conclusion that Igbos technically and physically coerced everyone else into Nigeria against their own wish and preference but later began to cry victims of being forcefully held back in the same Nigeria by all those other tribes when Nigeria's non-workability started manifesting and boomeranging on Igbos as a nemesis. But I find it funny why Igbos choose to always labell as Yoruba anyone who discovers this simple fact and says it as it is . By that Igbos unknowingly glorify Yorubas as being the only people capable of doing critical logical reasoning on Nigerian history to discover the rather simple fact that Igbos were the first to reject and prevent a loose or non-existent Nigeria. That, to me, is an unintentional insult on all other tribes and an indirect tribute to Yorubas for intellectualism which actually is not limited to Yorubas alone. If stating the obvious undisputable facts and Deadlytruth makes me Yoruba in your eyes, then so be it. But by the same logic Emeka Njoku becomes a Yoruba for recently writing an article full of eulogy for Ahmadu Bello and Awolowo as realists but carpeted Zik's one Nigeria fantasy as having ruined Igbos and indeed Nigeria as a whole. Even Ojukwu too became a Yoruba man for writing a note in which he called Awo and Bello hard headed realist and Zik a dreamer. I used to hate Ahmadu Bello as a teenager but after reading his speeches and recently watching him on U-tube I discovered he was the most honest and truthful politician Nigeria ever had. He was very blunt with the truth and always left no one guessing what his feelings were. He spoke deadly truths based on extant stark realities even though he was being called a tribalist and Northcentric in disposition. He made it clear that an un-deamalgamated Nigeria would be a theatre of bloodshed and rivalry and so it actually is today. You may start thinking I might as well be a Hausa for eulogizing Ahmadu Bello for his frankness, and I don't mind either. Truth actually has no tribe. But Zik continued to have bad dreams and nightmares of one Nigeria and here we are today with one Nigeria. Who then is vindicated between Zik on one side, and Awolowo, Enahoro, Ahmadu Bello and Balewa on the other side? Be honest in your answer. |
@One kobo, it is on record that you cannibals were the first to actually abandon your own region to flood other regions - North, West and the future Midwest and were attempting to usurp their rights to self governance. Shameless beasts. After Securing their own region for themselves they went out seeking to rule others under the one Nigeria subterfuge. They always think they are smarter than everyone else. Why were you not just contented staying in your own home? A people who never start their "charity" from their own home! When they kicked out of the Western Region they started complaining of being marginalized by Yorubas as if they had any stake there in the first instance? They are never at home with any system which recommends order and limited cross interference. They always prefer everyone disorderly crammed together thinking the unhealthy competition that results will favour them. How a people who paraded the most accomplished intellectuals back then could be advocating unitary system for a multi-ethnic democracy beats one silly. And when they could not get unitary system through a democratic decision process, they used their brothers in the military to force it on us through the backdoor. Yet the same people are the very ones demanding a return to true federalism currently while blaming everyone else for the ills of unitary system imposed by them. What a set of hypocrites! The biggest mistake Northerners made in Nigeria's history is that they refused to invest in mass media business with which they could have countered and corrected the impression that they invented one Nigeria and abolished resource control as being cast on them by the Southern press. And that is the Deadlytruth. Even your abuses have become uninteresting repetitions. You don't know more than slowpoke, despicable, and other overused terms of yours. You speak as if you are programmed. Why not even try to use new abusive words other than slowpoke, despicable, blah blah blah..........? You are actually a programmed ignoramus which needs to be reset and reprogrammed as your programmed state is becoming obvious through your shameless repetitiveness with those terms. Please try other abusive words if you are not deranged. Second challenge. |
christopher123:Well, have you now accepted that I am not a Yoruba man pretending to be from the Midwest? Secondly, have you now by the knowledge your research availed you realized that non-Yorubas also kick against Igbos domineering attitude? Actually Uneme is an Edoid tribe but has evolved and diverged miles away from Bini culture and Language over the centuries. That article you saw online is not accurate as it is not based on any academic institution sponsored research work. The writer is likely to have been born and brought up in the diaspora. Uneme Language is still alive and actively spoken. An Uneme dictionary has been published and reviewed twice. If you need better sites that provide you more details I might oblige you. |
christopher123:Anyone could write any article and claim authenticity. Thank God it is your own brother Chinua Achebe who invented the popular axiom that says, "As long as the animal kingdom lacks historians, history will always favour the hunter". Thank God we have our own historians too. The Federal forces which killed Igbo civilians are not same as the natives of Benin. . Edos might call those places Ovi' Igbo because some of them insist on Igbo identity. We won't define them as Edos if they themselves choose to define themselves as Igbos. It is that simple. We don't tell others who they are the way you Igbos do. What you call yourself is what we call you. The itshekiri's sound yoruboid, however we don't call them Ovi' Yoruba as long as they themselves keep rejecting Yoruba identity. I have told you that my tribe is called Uneme, yet you are still demanding to know my tribe? What is that supposed to mean? |
christopher123:If after telling repeatedly telling you that my tribe is called Uneme, and you keep repeatedly asking me what tribe am I from then you alone know what exactly you are demanding to know. Instead of you to humbly demand education on the Uneme tribe you keep pretending not to see it in my response. That is why I keep insisting that you WAZOBIANS don't appreciate the level of diversity of Nigeria and therefore assume that once the name of a tribe does not reflect any component of WAZOBIA then it is automatically not a tribe, or else what explains your repeated demand for me to state my tribe after telling you four good times that my tribe is Uneme? Or you think only Bini, Esan, Urhobo, Ijaw, Itshekiri and Isoko are the Midwest tribes? There are over 20 different tribes in the Midwest whose names you have never heard, so be ready to learn when you hear of one you never heard before. Iganke people are free to belong anywhere they choose. We don't coerce people to remain with us. No we don't do it. We don't encroach upon or invade other peoples' lands. We don't try to define the identity of others for them. Igbanke is very free to leave. No one has ever tried stop them except Ogbemudia - an Igbanke man himself. Bendel remains without Igbankes or even Aniomas if they chose to join Igbos. It was not the Oba of Benin that forced Okowa to recently dissociate Anioma from Biafra. He did it out of his own volition. If he had said otherwise, no one would have questioned his right to. It is a free world. Please before you claim Bendel is dead I want you to remember that Bendel is the only administrative and Geopolitical entity in Nigeria created through legal means and more importantly by the peoples' own consent. If all other illegally created regions and states in Nigeria by military fiat or colonial masters whims and caprices are not dead, how can Bendel be dead? Well this is Nigeria where people turn logic on its head anyway. |
66xtr9r:Unfortunately you did not address the issues I raised. Why did Zik believe that the Muslim North and the Christian South could and should be in the same country when all evidences pointed to the contrary? Simple question huh? |
christopher123:Geopolitical names are not same as names of cardinal points. In the purely Mathematical/Geographical cardinal system there is also nothing like North Central which as well exists in Nigeria's geopolitical diction. Geopolitical nomenclature is quite different from cardinal nomenclature. If we were talking of cardinal system then it would make sense for you to claim that South-South is funny. And for your information an average Bendelite gives priority to his Bendelite identity over the South-South identity because it is still being suspected that the SS creation was maliciously aimed at overshadowing the Bendel identity into insignificance. However that does not presuppose we reject our union with other fellow Southern minorities oppressed by WAZOBIA. You obviously want me to repeat it a million times that my tribe is Uneme among the multiplicity of tribes in the Midwest. Despite our diversity we love and respect one another and don't attempt to domineer over one another. There are even tribes among us that are limited to just one village or even a single harmlet. For such we believe they have the right to protect their identity and project their culture just as the larger ones too do have theirs. We don't preach one Nigeria or one Bendel because that philosophy sets the stage for ethnic suspicion, domination, rivalry and bloodshed. We don't look down on one another's beliefs and value systems however much they mutually seem to differ. Our sense of respect for one another's cultural differences is our unifying factor. No language is assumed to be superior or inferior hence we all learn and communicate in Pidgin to prove that point and give everyone a sense of genuine belonging. If we had killed Aniomas in Benin City I doubt that Aniomas would have still been identifying with us as they do till today. It was the Biafran soldiers we assisted the federal forces to kill because of their inhuman acts of rape, murder, imprisonment, etc against natives of B/C and other Midwest town I earlier listed. How did we travel from Benin to Anioma land to kill them when we had neither war vans no guns? Please furnish us with the full text of the Oba's statement before I respond to that. I am amused by your claim that I am scared by Igboid tribes unity because I have not said so either implicitly or explicitly. However my grouse with Igbos is their extreme indulgence with the one Nigeria fantasy with which they overfraternized with the North and ended up subjecting the South to a permanently disadvantaged position under the North. Had Igbos just allowed Nigeria to be as many as it could be the Nigerian war tragedy would have been avoided. |
66xtr0r:Zik caused all your problems with his fantasy of one Nigeria that got him so enthralled with the North despite clear signals that the North had already hated Igbos and would not mind killing them. We have not even forgiven you of Okotie-Eboh's cold blooded murder by that blood sucking Ifeajuna, and also of atrocities which your Biafran soldiers committed against humanity when they invaded Benin, Warri, Auchi, Sapele, Igarra, Lampese, and other Midwestern towns. The injuries are still fresh in our memories as if they happened yesterday. Zik's extreme fraternization with the North led to all your woes. Please blame him and leave Enahoro alone. Had Zik followed his head and not his heart to have accepted an all South alliance or better still allowed the South have its own independence rather than wait till the North became ready to join Nigeria the Nigerian bloodshed tragedy and Civil war would have been avoided. Why did Zik so believe in having a country formed between the Christian South and the Muslim North at a time when even muslem sects in Afghanistan and Iraq could not cohabit peacefully hence fighting war already is what I keep wondering at. Was Zik not aware that there were wars among even fellow Muslims in Afghanistan and Iraq already? So why was he hell bent on having the Muslim North and Christian South in one and the same country? That was the genesis of the whole problem. So blame Zik for his unrealistic optimism carried too far. |
onenaira2:So defending Igbo greed and domineering attitude is now the criteria for being Midwest rather than by birth? There is no natural logic these cannibals can't turn on its head. BTW what even is the relationship between the Midwest and South-beast cannibals? Were we ever related to you? What is your stress even? Why not just be satisfied remaining in your SE region that is smaller in Landmass that Bendel alone? Ahmadu Bello made it clear that the South-beast cannibals always try to dominate everyone else. Look Ojukwu tried invasion of Midwest with arms and it failed as Murtala Muhammed from Etsako flushed him out. So what makes you think you can do it unarmed on NL? Please stay in your South-beast land of cannibals and be contented with your five painfully small and overcrowded states. The Midwest will not allow an inch of its land taken into your Unitary Biafra Republic of Cannibals. |
onenaira2:Still manifesting your comprehension difficulty. How exactly did you interpret my post to mean I was trying to link Urhobo with Asaba? You brainless cranium IPOB youth and cannibal seeking attachment to the Midwest. You are only hiding behind one finger. I have challenged you to a mental journey through the entire Midwest from Akoko-Edo to Bomadi but you have till now not taken up the challenge. Why not just take it up if you're really from the Midwest? Of course you know such a trip will expose your false claims to Midwest origin. I repeat tell me how many different tribes are in Akoko-Edo as a starting point if you truly are of the Midwest. After that we move to Owans then to Etsakos, to Esans, then Binis, then Urhobos, and so on. So let's start: I challenge you! Cannibal from the Southbeasts region. Clifford Orji's kinsman! |
66xtr0r:You can keep quoting your Hausa-Fulani master SLS with whose brothers you and your Zik formed an alliance of slavery in 1959, 1979 and 1999 .... meaning at intervals of 20 years each time. You think its by coincidence? The blood of that Igbo-Hausa-Fulani brotherhood alliance of NPC-NCNC and NPP-NPN still flows in you hence your eternal love with SLS and his outbursts. Blood is really thicker than water. Igbos and Hausa Fulanis are one and the same in Nigeria. They only disagree to agree. While the disagreement lasts Igbos ask for Biafra but once Igbos appologise to them the Hausa-Fulani forgives them temporarily and remarries them once more as slave wives only to whip their arses again. Then the cycle is repeated once more. Your Zik claimed he and Igbos are political prostitutes always available for the highest bidder which is always Arewanistan. Just give Biafra-Arewanistan few years and you'll see Biafra in APC claiming ownership. Ekwunife and Nwobodo are already there. The rest will soon join. Then Biafra noise will cease when they get their usual senate president position. . If you are sincerly seeking freedom from Nigeria then honestly answer to the posers I have been putting before you which are: 1. Why did Zik seek one Nigeria when every other tribe sought federalism or confederal arrangement? 2. Why did Igbos form NPC-NCNC alliance in 1959 despite the fact that the Northern Oligarchy had already started hating and killing Igbos since 1945? 3. Why did Igbos root for one Nigeria when all indications pointed to the contrary? 4. Why did Ironsi forcefully replace our federal structure with unitary system? 5. Why did the Zik who read Anthropology decide to advocate oneness among peoples whose cultures were diverse and even opposing in most cases? Zik read anthropology which recommends that to avoid culture clash and bloodshed people must recognize and respect one another's cultural differences, yet Zik kept on preaching that we ignore our differences and move forward. To where? 6. Why did Zik who schooled in the US and saw federalism in fruitful practice among ethnically diverse Americans but returned to Nigeria to advocate unitary system in an equally ethnically diverse Nigeria? 7. Why did Igbos led by Zik reject the inclusion of secession clause suggested by Enahoro in the 1957 constitutional conference? The secession clause was meant to instill in our future leaders the fear of the consequences of misgovernance. If Igbos had supported others to have it in our constitution perhaps Nigeria wouldn't have been this misgoverned or at least secession would have been easily got without blood or bullet. These are some of the ways Igbos undid the kind of Nigeria they now seek. Please honestly address these questions if you are sincere about your quest for freedom from Nigeria. This is not about whether one tribe is this or that. No one is not tired of Nigeria now. In fact all other tribes were tired of Nigeria as early as 1953 but Igbos who only got tired of it in 1967 now pose as if they were the first to see that Nigeria would not work. This is what some of us frown at. Please address the above posers in all honesty if you are sincere. |
66xtr3r:I thought you said you know Midwest more than me. So your map told you that Uneme-Nekhua is in Yorubaland? You are just like Awujale who was recently trying to annex Benin to Yorubaland. SLS is a nonentity as far as I am concerned. There is no part of your one Nigeria's constitution that grants you the right to declare another secession War after 100 years. Why can't your Kanu who lived in UK and witnessed the Scottish referendum advocate for referendum too for Biafra but rather chose violent means? Was he afraid a referendum will fail to give him the percentage of votes needed by UNO to grant recognition to Biafra? Please just answer these very simple questions and your freedom will come faster: 1. Why did Zik seek one Nigeria when every other tribe sought federalism or confederal arrangement? 2. Why did Igbos form NPC-NCNC alliance in 1959 despite the fact that the Northern Oligarchy had already started hating and killing Igbos since 1945? 3. This is what some of us frown at. Please address the above posers in all honesty if you are sincere. |
66xtr3r:You obviously have run out of steam as you refuse to address the issues raised point by point but keep repeating the same response of diatribes against an assumed tribe. |
66xtr3r:I have told you I am of the Uneme extraction in the Midwest and have challenged you all to a contest about Midwest knowledge and ethnic structure yet none of you has taken it up. Shameless people. You wanted Biafra yet you decided to wait till the North was ready for independence. The north made it clear they did not believe in Nigeria and even gave you the go ahead to go solo in 1953 but your blind Zik claimed he was ready to sacrifice your freedom to have Arewa republic together with him in Nigeria and you are here blaming everyone else except that very Zik for your failure to later exit Nigeria. Hypocrites. Zik has sacrificed your freedom. Live with that! |
66xtr3r:Was that not how the North had already started preaching hate and killing Igbos - 1945 and 1953 - yet Zik and Igbos decided to form the NPC-NCNC alliance with them in the name of one-Nigeria? So whose fault is it that the North gained power over the South perpetually? You aligned with a people who told you point blank that they won't hesitate if given a chance to, yet you blame others for your folly. That is more foolishness. Why did you form alliance with the same North in 1960 then? |
onenaira4:You are just as too silly in your logic. Even the Wike who banned pro-Biafra Protests in Rivers is now a Yoruba and a card carrying member of APC? Who deposed UPN/Ambrose Alli in Bendel if not for NPN-NPP Rigging Machine oiled by shagari and Zik? Till today all Bendelites still annually celebrate Ambrose Alli for his outstanding performance and for his stand against the Northern Oligarchy at a time you Igbos were busy licking the arses of Northerners in NPN-NPP alliance. Shameless lots. |
66xtr3r:Let me help you ignoramus. Awolowo's complete speech on Nigeria is a follows "Nigeria is not a nation. It is a mere geographical expression. There are no 'Nigerians' in the same sense as there are 'English', 'Welsh', or 'French'. The word 'Nigerian' is merely a distinctive appellation to distinguish those who live within the boundaries of Nigeria from those who do not. There are various national or ethnical groups in the country. Ten such main groups were recorded during the 1931 census as follows: (1) Hausa, (2) Ibo, (3) Yoruba, (4) Fulani, (5) Kanuri, (6) Ibibio, (7) Munshi or Tiv, ( Edo, (9) Nupe, and (10)Ijaw. According to Nigerian Handbook, eleventh edition, 'there are also a great number of other small tribes too numerous to enumerate separately, whose combined total population amounts to 4,683,044. "It is a mistake to designate them 'tribes'. Each of them is a nation by itself with many tribes and clans. There is as much difference between them as there is between Germans, English, Russians and Turks, for instance. The fact that they have a common overlord does not destroy this fundamental difference. "The languages differ. The readiest means of communication between them now is English. Their cultural backgrounds and social outlooks differ widely; and their indigenous political institutions have little in common. Their present stages of development vary." Now what tribal superiority slur is contained therein? Ahmadu Bello and Balewa said more or less the same. Anthony Enahoro towed same line. But your visionless Zik kept swimming in his one Nigeria illusion. You are son interested in knowing my tribe yet you claim your folks are not tribalists. There are many tribes in Midwest-in fact over 20- and I am of the Uneme-Nekhua extraction and a very small tribe whose interest would have been protected by Awolowo's, Enahoro's, Bello's Balewa's positions. So why would I not bash Igbos who chanted one Nigeria which would not guarantee the protection of my ethnic nationality's interest? So tell me now what you want to say on that. All your links are trash as we all know what we already know. What's my business if some Yorubas accuse themselves of whatever they like? It might even mean some of them are honest enough to admit where they are wrong unlike Igbos who are always 100% wise in their own eyes while every other person is wrong. |
Deadlytruth:Now, let us analyse the ethnic structure and cultiures of Midwest starting from Northernmost Akoko-Edo in Edo State and ending in Bomadi in Delta so we know who between you and me is truly Midwest and who is faking it. Are you set? If you are truly Midwest then accept this challenge I have given you. Now tell me the structure of Akoko-Edo as a starting point. |
onenaira4:Betrayal of ignorance again. You have just shown you know absolutely nothing about the history of migration of Urhobos and other Delta State peoples from the ancient Benin Kingdom hence are referred to as Edoid groups even though situated in Delta State. That is why I insist you can't be from Delta. Why is your knowledge about Delta and Edo limited only to Asaba if you are not a land grabbing IPOB youth seeking false identity? |
onenaira4:An ignoramus like you thinks one is secrtetely viewing when one is only composing a reply to your trash. Don't you know that the website is programmed in such a way that it keeps indicating you are viewing a thread as long as you are having any business with it whether viewing, composing a reply, etc. You think viewing only means reading in this context? Coconut head. You see how you exposed your ignorance once more? |
