Nobody forced them to stay in Nigeria- did Azikiwe hold a gun to their head or were they given a choice as to whether they should stay or not? That's all the Biafran agitators want- a choice to determine their own destiny.
At least Ojukwu and Ironsi held a gun to Isaac Boro's head and with that forced him back into Zik's "one-Nigeria".

Does Fayose think that railway project is an example of the stomach infrastructure he promised Ekiti people? He has forgotten that Railway, according to his own reasoning, is an example of an elitist project which he and Ekiti people accused Fayemi of. I am sure Ekiti people don't agree with him on this one as it will convey all their ponmo, roasted corn, palm oil, , fried plantains, tomatoes, etc to Lagos for exportation overseas leaving nothing behind for Fayose to utilise in practice of stomach infrastructure dividends and campaign priority to Ekiti people.

https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-707046.0.html
U're terribly wrong about Akoko-Edos being Yorubas. They aren't. The Akoko prefix was adopted not because they are Yorubas but because they could not agree among themselves as to which collective name the could give themselves as people of 17 different tribes and languages. So they, though out of intellectual laziness and myopic mindset, had to borrow a prefix from a neigbouring district.
All Akoko-Edo languages have the v, z and ch sounds which are absent in the Yoruba alphabetical/sound system. Names of Akoko-Edo tribes can't be interpreted in Yoruba, eg., Ohiozoje, Ajimego, Onavave, Oviro, Ozeyeivo, Ochakaba, Ozioma, Eneze, Akpaida, Ogie, Asegame, Abassama, Aidomokonje, Eshemokhai, Emmasealu, Ileabor, Agbaonukozi, Mayaki, Adjoto, Adaviriku, Oizomevu, Ogarashi, Ozozonyi, Ozaime, Pendo, etc.
Could you please give the Yoruba meaning of each of these names?

Thanks. There were others like Obadare on NTA Akure back then, etc. In Europe and North America there were already hundreds of Christian TV channels. Now. If what made TV the devil's box was the absence of Christian TV programmes or stations, does it therefore mean that the TV was not the devil's box in Europe back then but was the devil's box only in Nigeria? It is like saying the cultural environment of a people as regards the level of development is the standard for judging what is sinful or holy and no longer the Bible.
Meanwhile I worked with a Deeper Life pastor for five years in which I sacrificed so much of my time and energy to successfully grow his firm from bankruptcy to financial breakthrough. However all he could do in appreciation was to increase my salary by N3,000 in all those five years of self-destructive hard work on my part. As if that was not enough he even tried to cancel my annual leave of just two weeks on the excuse that we needed to work more to improve standards and market share. He altered my daily resumption time and closing time from those we agreed on at the point of negotiation just before I joined his firm in management capacity. It must be noted that I did not apply to join him but he it was who kept begging me for 18 months before I finally accepted. When our level of patronage had increased more than ten times what it was as at when I joined, he decided to come up with policies which he knew would be offensive to me and therefore make me resign. I actually resigned and vowed never to work or even make friends with anyone associated with Deeper Life again. And I have abided by that vow.

You have actually said nothing. If Nigeria was morally justified to send out all Ghanaians for the sin of a few then why are Nigerians flooding Ghana again presently in search of business opportunities and university education? won't Ghanaians try to assassinate them again? Are some few Nigerians not committing different crimes in America and Europe for which all Nigerians deserve to be sent back home if we are to follow your logic of justifying Shagari's visitation of the sin of a few guilty on many innocents?
Foreign Affairs › Donald Trump In Ghana-must-go. (A Recent Hypocrisy Of Nigerians) by Deadlytruth(op): 12:56pm On Apr 30, 2016
Most Nigerians hate Donald Trump majorly because of his repeated threats to deport Nigerians living in the US if elected president. His main premise is that those Nigerians compete with Americans for few available jobs and their willingness to offer cheaper labour gives them an edge over their American citizens in job seeking competitions.
This has earned him a very loathsome perception in the eyes of most Nigerians. Some call him a pig, others call him a racist, etc.
However, this hatred for Trump is nothing but stark naked hypocrisy on the part of Nigerians. In the second republic times of NPN regime government headed by Shagari the government became so morally depraved and degenerate that it made a policy to chase Ghanaians out of Nigeria. The policy was code named Ghana-Must-Go and premised on the same micro-economic competition theory on which Donald Trump too has premised his.
The difference however is that while Donald Trump, a white American , seeks to deport, A group of Africans home; Nigeria under NPN deported fellow Africans back home despite these fellow Africans did not commit any crime against the Nigerian state. And the reason of economic competition cited by the NPN regime was at best spurious and untenable because the hardship in question then was caused by the corruption and looting being perpetrated by the government itself under Shagari.
I know Nigerians are quick to moralize issues like this by saying two wrongs don't make a right. Agreed quite alright, but not when the first offender still takes pride in his own wrong. How do I mean? Despite how derogatory the code name Ghana-must-Go was to Ghanaians we have preserved it in our diction till today and have even changed the meaning to an even more retrograde use as a euphemism for bribery especially in the legislative chambers. Shamelessly Nigerians now flood the same Ghana to school, import (entreport business), etc. However Donald Trump's position has nothing to do with vengeance against us but more about survival of the US the same way we too believed our survival was guaranteed with Ghanaians out of Nigeria. What goes around, they say, comes around.

let stop living in the past and face the future. Germany and US were once enemies. Japan and US were at war with each other before but they are allies today. The worst thing that can happen SS is to be in enmity with their neighbour SE. Well majority of my people are not towing your line. I don't know the part of SS you come from. But the truth is that we no longer think the way you are are thinking.

Abacha killed Ken Sarowiwa and many of our leaders. Well I still respect your views
Our SE brothers have not stopped mocking Saro Wiwa and Isaac Boro. I see lots of their mockery here on NL and all over the internet. Some of them even still claim they have not forgiven us for "betraying" them during the war. That means they too are still holding on to the past. So why should we too not live in the past when they refuse to let go of that very past? If they too had had the opportunity of owning oil blocs in the SS they would not have rejected it.
I will begin to take them seriously if they first appologise to us for their own provocation that made us "betray" them. Only then shall we too apologize for 'betraying' them. Then we can start from there.
Genuine reconciliation must be based on truth and not on expediency or falsehood.
The Germany and USA you mentioned actually reconciled but only after they told each other the truth and each one accepted where they were wrong. Even UK which killed US soldiers are now friends with US after UK admitted it wronged US. Same in SA between the whites and Blacks. But in Nigeria that is not the case. Our supposed brothers have continued to beat their chests, defend and justify all their evil actions against us.
But let me ask you why you believe we must align with them rather than go entirely on our own?
Is it that without them we can't survive on our own?
That we are eager to exit Nigeria does not mean we should close our eyes and just leave it anyhow together with a people who are likely to marginalize us in the new Republic. When Southern Sudan was leaving Sudan they did not really examine all areas of possible future disagreements in the new Republic. They just got out anyhow thinking it would automatically be blissful. But today South Sudan has been at war within itself after getting their country. In fact the war is being fought between the part that has oil and the other part that hasn't. But while they were all under Northern Sudan's domination they had thought they were brothers and natural allies. This is likely to be the case in a SS/SE Biafra.
The current SS people have never ill treated one another, we have no record of fighting one another over resources, we hardly insult one another even if we disagree, we politely exchange opinions. But once you disagree with an Igbo man the next thing is insults and name calling. I am honestly scared of being in a country with such people.
I therefore still prefer that SS goes solo,
or in a worse case scenario my state alone becomes a republic of its own, and I'll be more comfortable like Luxembourg, Lichtenstein, etc which are very small countries but with excellent economies.
I am from Edo State if you care to know. We learn everyday.
I still sincerely respect your freedom of association anyway because you have your genuine reasons just like I have mine. Thanks once again.

my brother, I will really like to know why you are not happy that SS/SE are coming together to fight a common enemy the North. The days of propaganda are gone. All the oil Wells in the SS are in the hands of North and SW. If you are really from SS, you need to change your thinking.

The North have succeeded in using propaganda to divide us. No region can be a truer ally than SE.
Thanks very much.
I actually don't buy into the perception that the North or Yorubas have used propaganda to divide us against the SE. We were never actually united with them at any time. it was not Northerners that told me that Ojukwu crushed Niger Delta Republic. It was not Northern propaganda that told me Biafran soldiers invaded my hometown in 1967.
They SE were the ones who gave the North power over the South.
I agree that the oil wells are mostly in the hands of North and SW. My own part of the SS has very little oil but abundant gas deposit, limestone, marble, gold, and other solid minerals which only Yorubas and Hausas are given license to quarry and mine right on my land. This ugly trend came into being through the unitary system imposed on Nigeria in 1966 by Ironsi, a SE soldier. Before then each region controlled its resources by retaining 75% of revenue generated in their domain and paying only 25% to the centre. The North controlled their groundnuts, the West controlled their cocoa while the East controlled their oil palm. The Southern minorities had virtually nothing but accepted their fate like that and did not try to benefit from other people's resources. But as soon as oil and gas were discovered in large quantities for the Southern minorities too to start enjoying their own 75% derivation Ironsi came and dismantled resource control and then Gowon came and worsened it further, then OBJ came and buried it completely. That was how the SE pioneered what we now suffer till today. If ironsi had left the federal structure he met I doubt a Yoruba man or Hausa man could have owned oil wells in the SS today under true federalism. Even if we join the SE in Biafra I have the feeling that they too will do to us exactly what the North and SW are doing to us now.
Moreover Biafran soldiers committed mayhem against my people during the war and I don't need northerners to tell me that.
That is why I believe more in a purely SS affair than going with any part of WAZOBIA.

The people you have chosen to align with have till today continued to mock the memory and death of Ken Saro Wiwa the Ogoni man who laid down his life for the emancipation of the SS from WAZOBIA domination. They claim they mock him because he joined the Nigerian side against Ojukwu during the War. Yes Saro Wiwa actually did so, but it was in revenge of Ojukwu's earlier act of taking sides with One-Nigeria too to crush Isaac Adaka Boro's declaration of the Niger Delta Republic 15 months before Ojukwu declared his own Biafra. Had Saro Wiwa done so to Ojukwu without Ojukwu having earlier done same against him I would have joined them in mocking Saro Wiwa as a traitor and be aligning with them too. You may decide to align with them and I respect your freedom of association, but my own part of the SS has not and will not align with them. Rather we'll seek our own separate Republic from Nigeria. I can't stand anyone who mocks Saro Wiwa. I find it highly offensive.

When the SS had the challenges of ecological damage from oil exploration and the issue of not having ever produced the president of Nigeria they agitated all alone and got solutions all by themselves. When SW felt their brother, Abiola, was cheated over June 12 issue they fought it alone and got a solution though not exactly as they wanted. But each time the SE has a challenge, rather than go it alone, they quickly tag the SS. Why?

Are you sure you are not taking this too far? You are putting Adolf Hitler wannabe like Abacha in the category of Nuru Ribadu. Deadlytruth, do you mind telling me your political role model both at home and around the world?
This is not really about role modelling but integrity. Integrity is being able to stand for a principle or idea whether wrong or right without allowing circumstances of personal interest to at any time interfere with your commitment to that principle. To that effect even the likes of Hitler and Abacha had integrity though in pursuit of wrong courses, but Ribadu has no integrity as he forcefully said things which he later never stood with. Imagine someone telling Atiku in very strong and passionate language that only Atiku's immunity prevented him from jailing him only for Atiku's immunity to expire while he still had the power to jail him as he had claimed but ended up pretending he never said so about Atiku. You call that integrity?
In fact when people accused him of pursuing only OBJ's enemies he broke down in tears in order to emotionally substantiate his denial of political witch-hunting thus reinforce the claim that Atiku and Tinubu were actually corrupt and therefore deserved his onslaught as EFCC boss. While those crocodile tears ran down his incredulous cheeks he argued that Atiku was his fellow Adamawa brother and therefore ostensibly suggesting that he even had every reason to shield Atiku from persecution but chose not to consider his brotherly ties with him as a mark of his integrity. But after the expiration of Atiku's immunity the man turned a blind eye and never opened Atiku's file again obviously because there was no longer the need to please OBJ.

If you are confused or wonder about what happened in Enugu yesterday, this is the timeline as Ariaku Emeh Iroh's wall provides it:
1. Governor Ugwuanyi gets information that Uzouwani will be attacked as some herdsmen from Nassarawa are converging near the community.
2. "There was a call made by Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to the president, he was put on hold for over an hour 15 minutes.
3. This call was made in the presence of 13 men and 4 women, the president aid (aide)told the Governor that the president will get back to him.
4.The president through his aid(aide) after 4 hrs told Enugu state governor that the president will do something about it.
5. "...Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi on hearing that the police have not arrived at Uzouwani called GOC 82 division for help. He was refereed to the presidency again.
6. This time around, he was put on hold for nearly 2 hrs again, while waiting to speak to the president. News came in that the attack he was planning to prevent has actually taken place.
7. Within an hour, the commissioner and GOC who refereed the Governor to the president has mobilised their men to stop retaliation. The same way Lagos and Agatu was attacked and retaliation prevented.
We need to know why police commissioner and GOC need presidency order before they can protect the innocent citizens?.
We need to know - why police and military sent their men to Uzouwani after the attack to prevent retaliation?.
We need to know why a sitting Governor cannot use the support of police and military to protect his people?.
There is only one answer to all your posers above. It is that there is no state police. And GEJ did the South a huge disservice by making a childish case against it with his electoral abuse theory.
Crime › The Enugu Invasion By Fulani Herdsmen: Whose Fault? by Deadlytruth(op): 6:45am On Apr 27, 2016
To those Southern delegates who teamed up with their Northern counterparts to object to and reject the idea of state police in the last confab, what went around has begun to come around in the form of the Fulani Herdsmen who seem to have just commenced a full scale invasion of the South with Enugu State as the latest focal point.
It is rather unfortunate that Nigerians are more reactive than proactive hence some Southerners, in the wake of this surge in Fulani Herdsmen attacks and Buhari's silence, are now calling for upgrading local vigilante and even self-help (an actually disguised agitation for state police) after having rejected state policing at the confab. Call it being penny wise and being pound stupid.
Those Southerners who objected to state police based their choice on the arguement that its abuse by state governors for electoral heist is inevitable. However they conveniently forgot that the FG itself has always abused the centralized police for same purpose. They as well forgot that, according to Fashola, there are institutions to check such abuses but there are no institutions to bring back lost lives occasioned by the absence of state police and failure of the overcentralized policing system. Moreover, abuse of state police for elections is seasonal and in fact once in four years. But loss of lives is daily and even per second.
It might rightly be argued that Jonathan's confab was nothing other than a time bidding mechanism aimed at temporarily diverting attention from the failures of his government to tackle immediate challenges. The mere fact that GEJ neither favoured a truly Sovereign National Conference nor demonstrate any will to implement the report of the travesty confab (which though contained no provision for state police or even an upgrade of local vigilantee) put him across as lacking in understanding of true federalism and its potential to engender the peace and security which we all now seek in the wake of Fulani Herdsmen metamorphosis into a BH-like deadliness.
However one might not expect Buhari to favour state police and true federalism as he is a Northerner whose people harbour the fear that fiscal federalism would spell revenue difficulties for their states and that state police may subtly empower the Biafra breakaway effort.... though very erroneous as one keeps wondering how much the Eastern Regional police could complement Ojukwu's efforts in the Biafran war of 1967 to 1970.
Please don't ask me for suggestions on solution as the only solution is decentralization of police which we all already knew but which some of us-unfortunately Southerners- out of our predeliction to always form our opinions on issues of national importance from the APC vs PDP political antagonism perspective, bought freely into the theory of electoral abuse of it as propounded by GEJ and co.
People must learn to live with the consequences of their choices............Hilary Clinton.

Are these inconsistencies in him what you call leadership qualities? That's why I asked you to list what leadership qualities you alone know about him.
