Yh, I'll have whatever car i want to buy scanned by a professional. My grouse is with the choice of car. My eyes is on the Passat and Golf 5. I think they're quite elegant cars (Though i rarely see the Golf 5 around, I wonder why). I'll prolly go mto a dealer and take them for a test drive. Just wanted to know others' experience with them. Anyone of them is fine by me. I don't go out much, so my car almost always has just me inside. I don't even drive to work everyday becaue my office is now very close and it's cheaper to go by bus, but I'll have a great deal on whichever of the cars i choose, hence my asking for imput especially as regards fuel economy. Thanks nurey: |
adeleks:Ever driven a golf 5? |
Thoughts? |
I'm currently considering A 2007 Passat, Jetta or Golf 5. But unfortunately, I don't have first-hand info on the respective fuel economies and maintenance cost. I think they are well designed cars (except for the Jetta. That stuff makes me frown ) so I'm tryna settle on one before the end of the year.Any experience or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks! |
saintjoel:BY this you, mean we can get a great car for the maximum of 2m? I'm guessing the asking proce can be negotiated, yes? |

Thinking of getting an MB that balances the line between fuel economy (145 naira is not a joking matter), reliability and design. Been going through the MB threads without making much sense of the many naming conventions. I think this thread makes it a little easier to understand I'm sure the performance in any W203 would blow my current Golf 3 out of the water, so I'm not overly concerned on that score. I think i'll focus on the c180 2001 -2002 models. Are there any particular faults/surprising maintenance costs they're associated with? Thanks |
Hahahahahahahaha. Sorry. bong4: |
I have refused it. He's willing to trade it in for a smaller car for me now. ![]() Thanks guys |

Haba. I can't sell it nau; we are still in this same Lagos. I don't even have where to park the damn thing sef. Lool. Stress. But he's been taking care of his gear box all this while. He's had the car since 2010. I have never seen him complain about any of his cars. And he's had quite a few over the years. Asides the gear thing, what is the cost of maintenance? diportivo: |
Hey guys. I got a Golf 3 last year (Ikenna's response to my question about a necessity for a car set my mind on it, Bless your soul), learned to drive in it, and currently enjoying the hell out of it. I do pre-emptive maintenance every now and then to keep it in top shape. But I've recently been offered a free 2003 Murano from a close relative because he doesn't want to sell it. I respectfully voiced my concerns about the gearbox issues that I've heard so much about(The whole engine oil thingy), and he told me his car is perfect. And that he only repairs it with accredited car shops. He has another newer Camry he's been favoring for years, so he doesn't rock the Murano as much as he used to. The car still looks awesome though. I don't want to use my mind to spoil this gift, because a 2003 SUV is better than a 1996 hatchback (I think), and I want to see this offer as a blessing, especially in this recession. What do you guys think? Any 2003 Murano owners here? What has been your experience with the car as regards maintenance and reliability? Please provide details of maintenance costs if you can. Thanks guys! |
'My experience in an interview session' without anything about your experience in the damn session. What a waste of space. smh Headmaster055: |

Golf 3, 1.4L, 1997 I came down from my car yesterday, tried to lock it with key, and discovered that the central locking pump has stopped humming. Annoyed and confused, I had to make do with manually locking and opening each of the doors. My central lock has failed before, but on that occasion, at least the pump still hummed ceaselessly, and the problem turned out to be a leak in the vacuum pipe which I fixed. Now, no sound at all from the pump . I also can't figure out the central locking fuse, even after checking online . I could have sworn I knew it before. Any ideas? |

Hello All, I recently decided to change the tires of my Tokunbo Golf 3 because they're expired, but I also want to change the rims at the same time. Right now, they are at 14inches, but I think they look too small and uncool ![]() Looking to go higher, but not at the risk of handling and maneuverability. What do you think is a good size to upgrade the rims to? The tires I'm looking for are those slim kind like the ones pictured. PS: Does anyone have an idea of the price?
