SportsRe: Nigeria (2) Vs Tunisia (2) on Sunday 6th September by deb(m): 1:37pm On Aug 27, 2009
@mckren,
it is obvious that 99% of nigerian football problems lies on mikel. from all indications, any formation that sees mikel out of the 11 players is the best and will surely take us to south africa and bring home the cup.
I agree with you on the above.

And I miss Eguavoen and Siasia.
Remember under Eguavoen we scored 10goals in two matches. And of course we all know what Siasia can do. We saw how he brought out
the best in Mikel at the under 20 world cup but this Amodu, i don't know. God help us
PoliticsRe: The Dora Akunyili Interview! by deb(m): 4:30pm On Aug 26, 2009
. . . and what good things have the international media not reported. but wait if the international media wont report such, what is our local media doing? oh i forgot they cull a large portion of their news from the international news outlets. yet we blame the international media for not reporting our good. also in a situation where for every positive news story there are numerous negative ones coming out. it is only natural for it to seem like only the negative is being reported
I don't want to talk about the uncountable crimes in south africa. How about United States the father of crime?
How many of their crimes do you get to hear? They have a controlled media.
And mind you, I never said our local media is a saint. They are worst than the hypocritical international ones
PoliticsRe: The Dora Akunyili Interview! by deb(m): 4:26pm On Aug 26, 2009
When you have programmed yourself for negativity, you will not see anything positive even
if they are staring you on the face. You pessimists need to remove the virtual blindfold. I say no more.

PoliticsRe: The Dora Akunyili Interview! by deb(m): 4:01pm On Aug 26, 2009
Most of you guys don't really know what the re-branding is all about.
It is not to tell lies like you are making it to look like.
It is simply to let the world know the good about Nigeria. Great things happen in
our country that the international media deliberately choose to ignore because they sell
more on our bad stories.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Should Prostitution Be Legal In Nigeria? by deb(m): 3:34pm On Aug 25, 2009
First I'll Like to correct an impression here
Why is it that we Nigerian don't maintain the level we are at all. Did i see anybody compare Nigeria With America?
America we all know is far far better than Nigeria so i see no reason why anybody should compare Her wit Nigeria
Now i want to contribute to the topic'Prostitution is Legal in Nigeria already, almost all our ladies are prostitute already (almost i said not all)
Come to think of it the first thing u use identify prostitute is their mode of drees, Now look at your self . Are You done, does your dress contribute to prostitution or not ?
If yes then you are one of the legal prostitutes we have in this coubtry but we can change it. We all know that prostitution is a bad thing.
If you say you are not a prostitute why do you always demand for money from your boyfriend after sleeping with him, and you said you are not a prostitute. Most of our ladies are prostitutes (apology to the good ones) and that is why I refuse to have a girlfriend. Ladies, i know you won't like what i wrote here but it is the truth, check it yourself and you'll know i've said the truth.
I've uploade a picture of a prostitute, nand i want you to look at it very well and see if thats not how you dress
Refering to the higlighted. That is where you get it wrong

PoliticsRe: What Is The Problem With Nigeria by deb(m): 2:46pm On Aug 25, 2009
Bros, our problem is legion.
As deb has said, it starts from us, the people. Way forward is
GOOD LEADERSHIP. History has taught us that people in general, want a good leader, someone who will tell them what to do, when to do it and how to do it. They want someone to show them a vision, to lead them in the right (or wrong) direction. Before we start arguing about this, lets look at the example of Singapore and Lee Kuan Yew. Adolf Hitler and the Germans (even though he was the cause of world war 2, he built an industrialised Germany and facilitated the manufacture of cars, planes, industries, etc)
I guess people deserve the kind of leaders they get because these so called leaders actually come from within the people.
Can anyone still imagine IBB walking the street of Nigeria a free man? And we are supposed to be a sane nation.

This is the part we find joy telling the whole world about. It is such the easier path.
@Poster what are you doing about the problem in your own immediate vicinity.

See, there is poverty everywhere in the whole world. Its not a news we just like to blow
our own out of proportion.

PoliticsRe: What Is The Problem With Nigeria by deb(m): 9:51am On Aug 25, 2009
The problem with Nigeria is you, me and everybody including our leaders.
Our brains are so corrupt that we cannot even see the positive side of the nation again.
And every positive move by any Nigerian to make the nation better is first condemned by us
Nigerians and we don't just stop there we go ahead to blow up every of our weaknesses to
the whole world . We simply find joy painting ourselves so badly in the eyes of the world even though
we are not worst than anybody else where.

When there is 419 we make noise about it as if it does not happen else where. When there is armed robbery
we broadcast it to the whole world as if we are better than Americans and the rest of the world in robbery, we are
so shameless that we loudly paint ourselves bad and allow the world to paint us as they like as if they are holier than us.
The rate of crime in south africa is alarming yet they don't make noise about it and yet they are the first to talk
about crimes in Nigeria. The world will address us the way we present ourselves. Keep making noise about our weaknesses
as though we are the worst set of people in the world and you will keep being treated like a goat every time and
everywhere you hold the green passport.

I hope we will understand now what the re branding exercise is all about. It is not to make us look good, it is to deliberately
let the world also know the good side of Nigeria. We are not all about negativity, in fact we are good people!
Foreigners who are raking millions daily doing business in Nigeria can testify.

PoliticsRe: No Nigerian Citizenship For British By Marriage by deb(m): 4:29pm On Aug 24, 2009
Do you understand the true meaning of citizenship?
Yes, things are tough in Nigeria today, but who knows what tomorrow will bring?
If we continue to regard or treat our own country with contempt and rudeness, what do we expect from the outsiders?
So, because Nigeria isn't among the best countries on your list, therefore, Nigerian citizenship should be given freely to everybody?

To me, this is a sign of complete disrespect towards our nation and our people. I wonder if it is a lack of understanding causing this unnecessary disrespect towards our country or folks just don't care. Well, whatever it may be, one thing is certain, our offhand disdainfulness towards our country will not benefit us in any way, but further salvage our already bombarded image.

It will only be sensible for all to chillout and recognize the fact that people will only treat us the manner we've chosen to present ourselves.

There are tons of Africans and others that see something special in Nigeria and Nigerians.
Please tell them perverts!
PoliticsRe: The Dora Akunyili Interview! by deb(m): 4:03pm On Aug 24, 2009
Have you had any personal relationship with the woman in question?
She was in Lagos last Thursday for a book launch that I was in attendance.
After she spoke a lot of people like you including media men apologized to her because they realized
that they have been wrong about their understanding of her re-brand exercise.

People like you don't know more than you read on the pages of newspaper. I have personal relationship
with her. I was in Abuja a few week back and I met with her twice before I invited her to Lagos. You can't ever
know what i know about her so i leave you to continue blabbing from your position of ignorance.
PoliticsRe: The Dora Akunyili Interview! by deb(m): 3:26pm On Aug 24, 2009
I know in Nigeria we tend to lend our support to our political leaders along ethnic lines,
I am a Yoruba while Dora is not.

, but there are some of us who view our leaders , regardless of their region of origin , dispassionately enough to the point that we criticise their wrongful actions and praise their meritorious deeds consistently
Now you are referring to me.
PoliticsRe: The Dora Akunyili Interview! by deb(m): 3:21pm On Aug 24, 2009

Only a sarcastic response to Dora haters.

PoliticsRe: The Dora Akunyili Interview! by deb(m): 12:53pm On Aug 24, 2009
You should stop insulting people merely because they write what you don't like. That attitude shows intolerance. I know in Nigeria we tend to lend our support to our political leaders along ethnic lines but there are some of us who view our leaders , regardless of their region of origin , dispassionately enough to the point that we criticise their wrongful actions and praise their meritorious deeds consistently . Say what you will , perhaps even including insults , but Akunyili is a disgrace (and probably a fraudulent person)  for compromising her so called 'lofty principles' to work for this disgraceful government comprising of the likes of Aondoakaa who , almost immediately upon his appointment as our AGF , showed the World that Nigeria is ireedeemably corrupt with how he went about dismantling the case against Ibori in the UK !!! Why rebrand when those doing the greatest damage to our image , like Aondoakaa and Maurice Iwu , still retain their jobs?  How on earth can Akunyili join a Government like that  and then shamelessly attempt to whiten the image of this charcoal black entity?

We should learn to dwell more on actual facts others state , however uncomfortable ,  instead of resorting to insult when we do not like what we have been told. The Yar Adua Government is grossly corrupt , inept  and anti-people in orientation. You can be Akunyili's greatest fan but you show lack of objectivity if you cannot see why many are dissapointed with how she can join such a disgraceful Government - especially as a launderer of disgustingly dirty linen !!!!
At this junction, based on the comment above, I will advise all well meaning Nigerians who have something to contribute
to our nation to siddon dey look since they don't want to be identified with a bad government.
At least that is the only way to avoid been bashed right left and center like Akunyili currently is.
PoliticsRe: The Dora Akunyili Interview! by deb(m): 11:35pm On Aug 23, 2009
I lost respect for her when she accepted the Ministerial appointment.
The noble thing to do is to decline such offers and keep her integrity.
Comments like this make me laugh. She is not a coward like you.
She's obliged to help her country and she's doing a great job with the re-branding project.

A lot of us Nigerian need to have our brains re-branded so that we can be thinking right.

PoliticsRe: Akunyili Defends Self In 8.2 Billion Naira NTA Contract by deb(m): 4:30pm On Aug 13, 2009
The truth abt most of us Nigerians is that we are not trust worthy
hence, we find it difficult to trust anybody even if they are innocent.

I know Dora Akunyili, personally. If anyone is benefitting at all from this deal
it is not her. This woman lives off her salary and only her salary. You need
to get one on one with her to know the kind of extra-ordinary Nigerian that she is.

I still met with her twice last week. You all should stop talking rubbish. You don't
know anything beyond what you read from the pages of newspaper. Leave the innocent
woman. Haven't you suffered her enough with all your negative comments about her effort to make good of Nigeria through
the rebranding campaign?
