Guys, please. There's one major question that we need to ask: Oyinbo say 'follow the money', so what's the source(s) of their funding? After all the monitoring, captured terrorists and seized goods- what evidence of sponsorship, what single name/ID of any of.these terrorists has the army come forward with? After all, they come from somewhere; they are citizens of at least one nation. We had bbog photos circulated; how many bh guys have been traced to their home nation/state/town? And what happened to that senator who was linked to a bombing suspect by 27 phone calls to his number?! |
C'mon, seriously. No takers? Really? Maybe you guys just enjoy the mindless trading of insults? Constructive criticism dead, abi? But one dares not insult your (party) tribal sensibilities. THIS is progress? |
I'm stunned. This thread is really depressing. Not a single comment directed at the Lagos state govt. Wetin dey do all of una? You should all be ashamed. Are you the ones clamouring for 'youths' to be given more relevance in government? With these imbecilic posts? You're all playing politics with a current catastrophy, not one sign of outrage, no calls for an investigation, no confirmation or update. Just more childish, half-baked insults. You have the privilege many others lack but you shirk the responsibility of holding your public SERVANTS to account- yet you believe that 'government should'? |
We Nigerians are a funny lot. Just a reminder- Lagosians elected continuity into power. Meaning more of the same. So whatever capital project Ambode chooses to do is actually a bonus. Meanwhile, 19billion for over 110 roads, 44billion for 22km expansion of lekki-epe road- That's still incomplete. Who's fooling whom? |
I talk say una time dey come. As APC peeps neva gree do somtin, una fit upstage dem, shapali!! On this thread, post your criticisms of your previous (local, state or federal) government policies and actions so far: Let the ruling party see that rather than blind loyalty, you're actually aware of- and can speak objectively about- your party's imperfections. Una cari go. |
Haba now. No response? Abi do we assume you guys don't understand the question? Or d jamb kweshun too tuff? Chai! Make una no dey fall hand like dis naaaa. |
Threads like this are quite scary. First, since the general seems bent on repeating his '85 policies 30 yrs later, I suggest- actually, I strongly advice- his acolytes to review his policies of that age and come tell us what the consequences were. Secondly, goverment is always the largest ngo of any nation. It's primary function is caring for it's people, so it has NO BUSINESS running for-profit organisations. When I read about national carriers and refineries, I shudder. Buhari simply can't run these ventures like a business man would. Therefore they will ALWAYS lose money. Thirdly, if you think we have debt worries, go check out 90% of developed nations. Our federal debt is a peanut compared to their groundnut pyramids. You CANNOT build a nation with that nation's resources alone. The question is, how judiciously were the loans used? To that effect, we need to find out what Fashola used over N300 billion for to increase the debt profile of lagos state by ALMOST 1000%!! |

Guy, does this look like business section to you? I'm trying to highlight the horror show of lagos traffic and you come here to advertise your rubbish betting account scam. Somtin dey do u? Common, gerarahia! |
Maybe this is an 'aside', or maybe it's relevant to the above topic. Whatever the case: Gov Ambode, could you please invite the president to please come and 'commission' the lekki-epe expressway expansion? At least that way we can have hopes that the workTinubu started, that Fashola couldn't finish, will be completed in your tenure- On 22kilometers of road! After spending billions!! And collecting even more billions for tolls!!! Without single ambulance for all d dead bodi wey don get axident 4 dat road!!!! You can tag it "the commencement of the final phase", so as not to fall their hand too much... Abeg please, eh? Tanx, God go bless u. |
I have to start with the ruling party- as a matter of respect. On this thread, post your criticisms of your (local, state or federal) government policies and actions so far: Let the opposition see that rather than blind loyalty, you're actually aware of- and can speak objectively about- your party's imperfections. All opposition supporters- kindly refrain from posting and observe what they have to say of their party. Meanwhile, una own sef dey come! Heh Oya, una carry go. |

This is quite an eye-opener- That there are people who actually think they have a say in what or how others conduct legitimate trade. Am I liable to arrest or a lawsuit for advertising the bag for sale? Are there actual laws that criminalize this advert? Or are you (consciously or otherwise) turning your opinions into expert statements? The logos are easy to remove. Plus, I can also easily 'disappear' the markings. But isn't that 'false advertising'? People do this with government and corporate items- ALL THE TIME. But since we're a "don't see, don't know" people, the logos then somehow diminish a quality product? I don't think so. And I refuse to spend my time on deceit. All I need is someone who needs the bag, as is. But thanks for all your contributions. ----------------------- To interested buyers: Still available. |
Who's to blame, you or your school? |
My post was directed towards the misinformation that seems to come from several 'mushroom' sites and other rumour-mongers. If everyone is ok with the 'amebo' stature that nairaland is slowly getting, that's fine. Bit keep in mind that Seun and the mods have both a business and a reputation to protect. The post was specifically for their consumption. Cheers. |
I wanted to create a 'politics' thread, but realised that it would likely be another circus. So instead, I'm making a plea: Nairaland is like a frog sitting in cold water as it's being gradually boiled alive. (Ironically, Nigeria is in the exact same 'boat'. Or pot. What an apt parallel!) Seun and the Mods should please be careful. In the mad dash to 'be the first to post', this forum's credibility is slowly being eroded away. Maybe it's time to start banning people who post unsubstantiated articles- at the very least, from verified sources. True, it's a lot more work, but the pay-off far outweighs the sacrifice. If you suspend someone who posts a ridiculous piece of news for 3 months, others will catch on quick. What you lose in sensationalism, you gain in trust. There might be some middle ground, but that'll likely involve the forum spending money on actual (freelance?) reporters. Meanwhile, I'm sure you're aware that long before the elections, many people refused to register with this forum due to the perception of it's being 'rough' (for example, I'll bet that most internet users over the age of 50 will be appalled at the tribalistic, prejudiced vitriol being spewed out here daily). We can be sure that to all intents and purposes, their membership- and hence economic/expert patronage- is lost permanently. Please deliver this forum from mediocrity. Or maybe it's just me? Thanks. |

I'm amazed that you have all this time on your hands. Does nairaland pay you to troll the forum and post comments at random? I hope so; it'll mean Seun has provided employment to at least one Nigerian. Or is it simply joblessness? Maybe you DO have a job, but it's just killing you with excruciating, mind-numbing boredom? If I checked your profile, will I see random, unsolicited comments on other members' posts? Whatever the case, your personality is beginning to show. Keep it up. And yes, the bag was part-payment. If you've helped people out before, you MIGHT understand. But you don't strike me as the type, vis-a-vis your snarky comments. In this life, I guess one meets all sorts... |
I suggest you get to computer village. There are OEM dealers who have direct connections to refurbished laptops. Most of them can give a warranty of their products. It's better than 'guessing'. |
Lexusgs430:I'm sorry that you feel the need to ask such a question. I got the bag as part payment for a loan. I don't need it. You'll see from my profile that I'm selling a laptop which comes with it's own bag. Since you're clearly not in the market for the item, maybe you need a free bag? I can offer you one, though it's nowhere near the quality of this product. PM me if you do. Take care. ------------------------ To serious buyers- Still available. |

SirWere:This is the 21st century. Our backward thinking must 'change'! Mechanised farming is big business. Even India's rural farmers are raking it in! They have higher yields per plot, better crops, disease resistance, proper storage and access to international markets. This is the vision we should have, rather than still thinking of 'rural farmers' and drudgery. Do you think it's government and 'big business' that make up the $39 BILLIION EXPORTS in a single year?! |
SirWere:Why do you think it's a 'not good' dream? Is it the land mass? The farming technology? Or does Nigeria lack the manpower? Let me ask the question from a different angle: How can our government create jobs for MILLIONS of youths in the next 12 months without spending half of our national budget on capital projects? -without oil money? -without returned loot? -with a falling currency? -without proper infrastructure? -with corruption still rife in every MDA? -with a GIGANTIC debt burden that we're yet to fully understand? You say it's a bad dream, I say it's the only sure path to our nation's freedom. Unless you want GMB to keep borrowing..? |
"Prior to the mid-1960s India relied on imports and food aid to meet domestic requirements. However, two years of severe drought in 1965 and 1966 convinced India to reform its agricultural policy" The oil drought is here for the foreseeable future. What shall we do? "India exported $39 billion worth of agricultural products in 2013" This statement should have been Obasanjo's legacy to Nigeria. Instead, he has wasted multiple opportunities... But this isn't about him; it's about you and I and what future we choose to make for ourselves and our children. So leave the politicians and their politics. Our bodies and minds are young, strong and versatile. Ideas- and their proper implementation- are what will change Nigeria, not a 'strong man'. Dive in and discuss agric in Nigeria- The problems, the solutions, the creative, radical thoughts |

Why, who would want to leave the city and go to some back-water village to drudge and suffer?
