HealthRe: What You Must Know About Ovarian Cysts by debbie(f): 1:07pm On Mar 10, 2015
Yea that is true though.I asked the Gynea and he told me that a woman's menstrual cycle can effect changes that might cause it..especially if after the ovulation and some eggs start developing,,they can form a sack of fluid or whatever inside it.......for me,nothing caused it.And from experience surgery is the best way to remove it,if properly done.
Cyst can affect fertility, especially if it requires that your ovaries be removed....To every woman out there, when you start noticing some changes, lower abdominal pains and the rest please go see a gynea .
chokovirus:
Yea. There are many cases of cysts amongst Nigerian ladies that are infected cysts which could av resolved after intensive antibiotic therapy with ultrasound monitoring thereby avoiding the need for surgery. I av seen cases of infected cysts recurring after surgery. I do not know about your case anyway. All those items the op listed are just risk factors that increase the incidence. Absence does not suggest impossibility.
HealthRe: What You Must Know About Ovarian Cysts by debbie(f): 11:45am On Mar 10, 2015
I did a surgery to remove the cyst last year....of all the reasons OP gave, none caused mine
chokovirus:
Need to correct some impressions here.

I see ladies with ovarian cysts on a daily basis. All these surgical procedures you listed are not first line treatment. Most ovarian cysts among nigerian ladies are mainly a result of PI D (infected cysts), others are benign functioning cysts that resolve in 6 weeks when monitored on scan. Endometriomas , Dermoid cysts and teratomas are very rare findings (ladies, no need to trouble your hearts).
The incidence of PCOS and ovarian cysts are increasing now because of the use of contraceptives and fertility drugs (e.g Clomid) respectively. Ladies if you feel anything funny don't be scared of requesting for a pelvic ultrasound scan. It is entirely safe, cheap and non-invasive.
Finally , always ask questions. It is your right to know about your health.

It is ok to use it,but know that there are circumstances that will demand you present your change of name publication, especially if it international stuff......so while you are at the job,try to rectify that problem. You can go back to the news house,if you can remember when you did it,and when it was published....they can help..

What about those of them that run private hospitals....what is their problem?
Who licensed them? is there a body that checks and regulates the quality of health workers they employ...especially nurses?
phlamesG:
Well talking about poor pay i blame d govt in that regard
HealthRe: Death Of Patients: A Warning To Nigeria Medical Association by debbie(op): 12:34pm On Mar 06, 2015
I am sick and tired of their excuses.....of poor pay this and that. Yet outside the country patients are treated with uttermost priority.
Cant there be an end to this?
phlamesG:
they are so incompetent nd negligent its annoying sad
HealthDeath Of Patients: A Warning To Nigeria Medical Association by debbie(op): 12:27pm On Mar 06, 2015
It is with sadness I write this article concerning the carelessness of all areas of health workers...doctors, nurses and pharmacist.
Last week a friend lost her pregnancy which is due to be delivered by this week, all because of the carelessness of a hospital located in the Ikorodu area of Lagos state. She had contractions and reported at the hospital, the nurses refused to attend to her. The suggested she go back home because her EDD (EXPECTED DATE OF DELIVERY) is not that day. Not knowing she was in labour. after two days she went back and the contraction grew worse.....only for them to discover that the baby was already weak inside, eventually she gave birth to a dead baby.
OBSERVATIONS
1.The refused to conduct a physical test or any scan to know the state of the baby and heartbeat, pressure and the rest.
2. The supposed hospital was licensed by NMA yet with no scan dept or labouratory for tests.
3. The nurses on duty were all sleeping when she reported at the hospital and complained of the contraction.
4.There was a high level of carelessness on the part of the owner of the hospital....only what he is interested in is the money to be deposited before any attention will be given to her.

SECONDY,
A friend died of artificial kidney infection. I call it artificial because it was as a result of the drugs she took in 2011 during her NYSC in the northern part of Nigeria. In Jos part of Plateau state, she had cold and went to the hospital.....after which the prescribed drugs for her. The pharmacist that did that, mistakingly gave her double of what her dosage should have been. After some months she fell sick and returned to the eastern part...Eventually the test showed she had kidney infection as a result of careless medication given to her. Over time her kidney became weak and couldn't carry her...She died yesterday.

Now my issue with Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) is this,
1.what is the duty of this body to protect the lives of the patients who fall victim to the carelessness of health workers?
2.I have come to realize that NMA is more interested in their pockets and all about strike...I stand to be corrected though.
3.What should be done to avoid unnecessary deaths caused by these agents of devil.....
4.To the doctors and nurses out there, why is it that there is no sanctioning or some form of punishment when such a thing happens?

To the general body of NMA,it is time to rise above these issues and find a lasting solution to them, if actually you are out to save lives rather than killing people.

I wont fail to mention the wicked nurses and health workers we see in both state and federal owned hospitals. We are at the mercy of their inhuman treatments. You need to see the way they talk to you, explain to you or even insult you when you ask a simple question.
I will also like to draw the attention of the NMA to the health workers at the GBAGADA GENERAL HOSPITAL. Most of them treat patients like animals, young doctors are being assigned to handle major health cases even when they can not explain something's to you. Some of the nurses and midwives insult the pregnant women that come for antenatal daily.
Even the old men and women that didn't attend formal education are not spared, especially when they need to be handled with care.....all you see is women and men playing around with ones life, as if anyone chose to be in the hospital for treatment.

I am calling on them to sit up and find a solution to all these problems. If they can not do their job then I wonder why they exist.
Thank you.

We are sick and tired

Be mindful of uncle's that call your daughter his wife, and those of them that applaud your teenage girls and commend them for all the maturity the have.
Be mindful of those adults that will like to lap or beckon on your kids to come and sit on their laps ,especially when it becomes a frequent thing.
Be mindful of the neighbors you allow your children visit.Be mindful of the kind of friends they keep.Try to educate your children from the very early age about sexual matters.Teach them and dont shy away....you never can tell how and when they will learn it.

Be watchful of ANY changes you notice in your child, dont assume everything is ok.......

No matter how busy you are, please and please always create time for your children, ask them questions.....no matter how silly it may sound.

Make them build trust and confidence in you,to the point of telling you EVERYTHING happening to them.

If you are a single mother or father, you need extra grace to handle your kids, dont feel you cant do it.

Be mindful of the people you allow to flock around your kids

Daily, children are being molested by the people we least expect.......THE MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY OF RAISING YOUR CHILD IS IN YOUR HANDS.

Thank you all for your concern...I was told the nurses didn't carry out any examination all the time she was having contraction . Nevertheless she asked me not to pursue the case anymore. That she will move on with her life.

This is a lesson leant
I pray God delivers us from the hands of these careless nurses and health workers.
May we all conceive, carry, deliver ,nurse and train our babies....In JESUS NAME

My friend just lost her baby out of carelessness of the doctor and nurses in the hospital she went to give birth ....For the past two days she was having contraction and it was getting serious, but because the EDD given to her was mid march, she reported to the hospital and the silly nurses told her to go that it was false labour, plus her date hasn't reached....she went home and for the next two days she kept on having the contraction. Not knowing that the baby was getting weak and tired...eventually the couldn't bear it and reported back. The hurriedly delivered her of the baby, only for them to discover that the baby was already dead.

Right now she has been crying her life out, even her hubby is so weak and cant bear it.
I need the help of the doctors here or anyone in the house concerning the action I need to take against this hospital

My main aim of doing this is to avert any such carelessness in future, especially to pregnant women who might not be aware of the fact that this said hospital have inexperienced hands and can get away with any action of their

Firstly the hospital is I ikorodu part of Lagos state.
I want to sue the hospital or possible make known the hospital name and location.
I want to be properly guided or advised on what to do.

Remember we have to fight to stop child mortality and any pregnancy related causality which is caused by human error.

Thanks

PoliticsThis Is The Kind Of CHANGE We Must Have In Nigeria by debbie(op):
We have been crying we want change and some are saying the change we want is here already. The truth is that both GEJ and GMB WILL NOT change (talking of over 190million people). Even if everything is made free, corrupt leaders gone, economy improved and all we clamor for is given to us,WITHOUT me and you changing our attitude and behaviors,we will still make a mess of all we have.can I talk to you my fellow youth? We keep saying we have bad leaders, let me ask you:

1) in your family, how do you treat your parents?

2) in your locality, have you been singled out as one who fights a JUST CAUSE? Are you honest?

3) in business, how sincere are you or are you full of GREED?

4) in school, do you believe in bribing your lecturer to get a high score or you believe in reading and getting your grades?

5) in your place of work, do you sort your way to get PROMOTED or NOT?
6. When in charge of finance,do you handle it well, are you prudent and accountable?
7. When in power do you oppress people and above the law?

To the parents,
1.How do you treat that person serving or working for you.
2.Do you attach ethnicity and tribalism in all you do in your work place and social gathering?
3.Can you be fair in your judgement with out being partial.
4.Can you do business with the next person without thinking of how to defraud him?
To the general public,do we adhere to simple traffic rules,do we follow instruction especially when in the bank or places like that without jumping lines.
Do we have to bribe our way with the law enforcement agencies,or buy them over?
Can we do without producing fake products or stop pirating an existing one?

You in the civil service, how many people have u denied their rights and promotion? how many times have u falsified your age just to be in service? how many times have u signed and defrauded the government funds just because of greed? how many innocent people have you accused. Lecturers are not spared either.

You that is a church leader or pastor, how many of your members have you deceived into giving their money, yet you havent stopped showing favoritism to the rich and mighty, neglecting the poor in your places of worship.

I can go on and on asking questions but let me stop there.... My point;

If you find it cool playing dirty in all you do and yet you want CHANGE, you are DREAMING. ‪#IMUSTCHANGEFIRST#

The desired CHANGE starts with YOU...

MOD can we have this on the front page, at least lets tell ourselves the plain truth ngwakwe,ikenna351,afam4eva and OAM4J...take note
