Christianity EtcRe: A Thread For Catholics by debbie(f): 1:22pm On May 12, 2015
I just heard my name......Well the issue of infant baptism can not be argued. As long as people dont understand why catholic and some orthodox churches do infant baptism, leave them. cheesy
Nice sharing from the scriptures.SalC what happened?
Syncan:
From today's reading Acts 16:22-34

"...When the gaoler woke and saw the doors wide open he drew his sword and was about to commit suicide, presuming that the prisoners had escaped. But Paul shouted at the top of his voice, ‘Don’t do yourself any harm; we are all here.’ The gaoler called for lights, then rushed in, threw himself trembling at the feet of Paul and Silas, and escorted them out, saying, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’ They told him, ‘Become a believer in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, and your household too.’ Then they preached the word of the Lord to him and to all his family. Late as it was, he took them to wash their wounds, and was baptised then and there with all his household. Afterwards he took them home and gave them a meal, and the whole family celebrated their conversion to belief in God."

Antie Debbie, isn't it often that we hear people who claim they have the backing of the scripture condemn the practice of infant baptism? The child should grow and have the choice to accept the faith they say. Abeg make I laugh small joor...hahahahaha... now let me read the scripture again "Become a believer in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, and your household too". Did you just see that Chy27, his household salvation was gonna be based on his own faith! They went ahead to preach the word to him and his family. Now what followed next is very interesting jnrbayano, "Late as it was, he took them to wash their wounds, and was baptised then and there with all his household". Kamsified you hear that? Everybody was baptized, the scripture made no exceptions, young and old in the family, all were baptized. So where did they get the impression that the apostolic tradition of baptizing children is wrong, where does the scripture support them? Francistony you de follow me so? I tire o for this people o. St Peter had warned about these sought of thing when he said of scripture "As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction" 2Pet.3:15. Are you learned and stable? Are you wrenching scripture unto your own destruction. That's the safety of being under the One, Holy, Apostolic, roman Catholic church my sister Juzzybabe, for in her is the learning via history and apostolic succession. Indeed woky, In her is the stability of infallible dogmas, inspired by the Holy spirit and borne witnessed to by the blood of martyrs.

My Faith! My Pride!

Today's done. May the good Lord receive our praises and grant us many testimonies in our lives. Amen.

May the Lord meet you at your point of need Ubenedictus.

Good morning brethren, a splendid day ahead to all.

PoliticsMy Bitter Experience With Policemen In Lagos by debbie(op): 12:23pm On May 11, 2015
I will like to bring to the notice of the commissioner of police in Lagos state,The IGP and to the general public the wicked and unruly behavior of some police men and officers. One of them is one EDE DENNIS ( funny enough he didnt have his number written on the uniform, just his name.) He is attached to alapere or ketu division.

Yesterday afternoon after church Mass,we were driving through ketu, kosofe side to link up to visit a friend.Along Orishigun street beside winco foam company we were stopped by a group of policemen who were supposedly checking cars.We were asked to stop and bring out our car particulars( all documents were correct and very recent,so we had nothing to worry about),after checking and he discovered there was no fault. He started by asking us where is the "POLICE AFFIDAVIT,CLEARANCE FOR CHANGE OF COLOUR CAR(meanwhile we have been driving the car for at least 4years now, haven't changed the colour). WE asked him what is the meaning of that,he started ranting.....so since you people dont have this letter ,you will go and explain at the station. We thought he was joking or rather drunk....After wasting our time and expecting us to settle him.Which we didnt, he became angry and decided to insult us..Since you people are not ready to provide the needed document,i will call my men to impound the car.

Yet they never did carry out any security check,.,,,only looking at the particulars for a reason to hold us.Now i refused to let him have his way.As we became furious considering the heat,he took the photocopies of the documents we gave him and left, telling us we will come and collect them( with him were more documents collected from innocent motorists).

I would like to ask what is the problem with these men on black?
Does it mean that the instruction from the IGP is falling on deaf ears?
What is wrong with our system...cant these men do their job?

It is so sad that we have a bunch of silly men who were employed to protect the people, they end up looking for how enrich themselves.
I got to know that the division officers, area commanders and higher officers always send out these men to make money and bring returns to them....

Nigeria has a very long way to go
thanks

@ abagworo...What is the business of these federal institutions here? what has Jonathan got to do with the issue at hand? when did Alvan become a federal owned institution? what year? Alvan Primary school,Nursery school and the college of education were fully sponsored by the state government, until few years ago the started the process of handing it over to the federal government.
Well go back and read my comment....gratuity and pension arrears of the retired staff is being owed by the state government.Mind you as i type this, the so-called governor is having a meeting with the association of retired staff which still ended with a promise....a promise he made 4years ago and is still making.
Please enough of all these stories,if you have no information about the institution i am talking about kindly leave the issue, rather than complicate issues for yourself.

PRESS RELEASE

RE: OKOROCHA PROMISES TO PAY 13 MONTHS SALARY
ARREARS OWED TO PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS

The Imo State government has read a report with the above
caption
in the media including the social media, stating that the State
Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has promised to pay the 13
months salary arrears owed to the primary school teachers in the
state.
Those behind the false report, in their effort to make it look real
had also claimed that the Governor made the pledge while
addressing the workers in the State during the Workers Day
celebration.
It is interesting to note that both the report published in the
newspapers and the one in the social media, none has by-line. In
other words, the report was fictitious.
The truth of the matter is that the Imo State Government is not
owing the primary school teachers
13 months arrears of salary;
and we stand to be contradicted. The primary school teachers in
the state have always received their salary as at when due.
The false report was authored by the Imo PDP and they did it as
part of their anger after the party’s abysmal outing in the just
concluded governorship election. They have not yet realized that
part of their problem was hate campaign and falsehood which
they
called propaganda.

They have been boasting of bouncing back, and they cannot
bounce back by trading on lies and being economical with the
truth. They must toe the part of honour to bounce back. Imo
people and Nigerians should disregard the report. It is not true.

well for your information all the retirees from ALVAN IKOKU COLLEGE OF EDUCATION HAVE NOT BEEN PAID THEIR PENSION( FOR 27MONTHS) ARREARS NOT TO TALK OF GRATUITY.MANY ARE ALREADY DEAD,SOME HAVE GONE BACK TO THE VILLAGES,SOME CANT TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES.here we are seeing some political praise singers undecided
All thanks to the wicked governor of the state.so check before you conclude.
thanks
gudluckgreat:
What's your point actually?
What debts and what do u mean by all this silly statements??

Apart from the primary school teachers and workers of Imo transport Co, there is no other section that has been left unattended to in terms of salary payments.

As the sayin goes, u cant please the world, jst do ur best. Even in developed countries, few bad roads still exist,no govt is 100% perfect, there will still be flaws and criticism.

For sometime now we have been talking about politics and what the past leaders have done to win our votes. But we fail to point to our leaders their total failure and address the major needs of the people. We go about singing and dancing to their loud praises.Well the fact is that we will end up selling our truth to the dust if we fail to hold our elected leaders responsible
Today i have decided to post some pictures of very bad roads in some part of Lagos, as i was opportune to come across.
The road is called ADEBIMPE,a long stretch of road within the MILE 12 market.

Please to all those fellows who dont think before the talk, who dont want to look beyond sentiment,to those who have been singing the praises of their leaders,to those who have sold their conscience all because they have been blinded by empty promises.....i say welcome to the reality that will surely catch up with you.

All i want is for the whole world to see what our leaders have been doing...
1.This road have never been tarred.
2.This road serves as a major link from ketu to ikosi
3.This locality have re-elected their state and federal house of representative.
3.The shops and businesses around here pay tax monthly.'
4.The road is like this now that it has not rained.....ask me what will happen after a heavy down pour.
5.This road links you to ikorodu road....
6.There is the picture of the rep by name TUNDE BRAIMOH
I dont want to see people defending anybody....the truth is glaring to us.

Till we wake up from our slumber, our elected leaders will keep on playing us like a game of chess.
thanks.
