A 2003 Toyota Corolla is available for rental Amount: 35k per week Repairs: I do ALL the repairs myself, irrespective of the amount Bonus: If you deliver for 12 weeks without any story whatsoever, the 13th week is yours as Bonus. In addition occasionally adjustments can be made for unforeseen home front issues especially if you're a family man Terms and Conditions: 2 verifiable guarantors (I will reconfirm every single one PERSONALLY) Negotiable *assurance* deposit You must not be owing any of the platforms (I will check) If you stupidly bash or heavily scratch the car due to careless and thoughtlessness, you will be wisely bounced without remorse LASTMA/FRSC fines, if it's less than 10k it will shared equally (No one is above mistake), anything above, OYO or i bail my car and get another driver. Plus if it's rampant, contract terminated! (It's no more mistakes, Village people things) Long Story Short: I will NEVER fail in my duties as a partner, you must NEVER fail in delivery too. If you meet the criteria above send a *MAIL* to owellemi@gmail.com, with your contact, a screenshot of your Uber and Taxify profile and any other thing you deem fit. I actually prefer family men but any RESPONSIBLE single guy can apply. Udo! 3 Likes |

mrsage: Bros, why not look at it this way... I will only compare Nigeria and SA It is true that the ratio of Rider to driver in Nigeria is poor (1:39) compared with other countries like South Africa (1:81) but we can't just drown the information without critical analysis In South Africa, Uber is in 4 major cities (from Uber website) Johannesburg and Pretoria (8.27m) Cape Town (4m) Durban (3.70m) Port Elizabeth (1.26m) I've included their population (in brackets) as at August 2016. The combined population of these cities is about 18m people Out of the 18m people in the four cities in SA where Uber operates, almost 1m (962,000) are riders giving a ratio of 1:18. i.e One of of 18 people living in these cities use Uber In Nigeria, Uber is only in Abuja and Lagos. Lagos as April 2018 according to wiki has a population of 40m (this is debatable), though according to Lagos State government, the population ọf Lagos is approximately 21m as at 2012 (6 years ago oooooo) Abuja as at 2010 was dubbed the fastest growing city in the world, in 2016 it was the fastest growing city in Africa with a population of about 9m According to wiki Combined population of the week cities (using LASG figures) is about 30,000,000 people. The population of riders in the two combined cities is 267,000 Giving a ratio of 1 : 112 people. Simply put, 1 in 112 people in the combined cities use Uber If I use Lagos 2018 figures, combined population will be 61m, infact the population of Alimosho Local Government alone (8m) can comfortable compete with the figures of Johannesburg and Pretoria combined (8.27m). Using a combined population of 61m against riders of 267,000, we have a ratio of 1 : 228 people Simply put only 1 in 228 people in the combined cities are Uber riders. Dear Partners and drivers what does the figure show you? For me, it shows only one thing........best described by T Y Bello's song.....The land is green, is green.......... As for as Uber Nigeria is concerned it's still very nascent compared to the opportunities that abound Why do you think Uber and Taxify engages in aggressive marketing and strategies? Power tussles? Hell No! Boss, before you discourage any one, think am well By the time Uber gets to Rivers State, Kano, etc.....you can only imagine... 6 Likes |

Some drivers are devil, black ones! And am not exaggerating. I am really angry! Earlier when I see people like dru23 saying things about drivers, I felt he was too harsh, had I known I added a Toyota Corolla, I was unlucky, engine knocked before it even made one naira. Changed engine, changed evaporator, condenser and a host of other things. Changed almost everything on the legs from shocks, brake to tires. Spent over 300k for these. Where possible, I use oem or new parts, I buy them myself or order online. That's not the story, this is the story I gave this cha cha Corolla to an experienced driver referred by someone I happen to know. I checked his profile he had 4.6 as his ratings I was cool but there was one problem, he had no phone. said he had some challenges, he had to sell his phone. Because of the person that referred him, I asked him which phone and how much, he mentioned one infinix with 2g ram, the price was 38k, I transferred 40k to him. Filled the car to half tank and handed over to him on a Wednesday. Come Friday, he wasn't still paired with me on Uber, called him, he gave some cock and bull story of how he needs to go Uber office and do it, well for other cars it only took minutes, so I gave him 24hours to that. He did it in 18. Come Tuesday, Uber didn't pay me, I've forgotten about him to be honest, since I used a different Uber profile/email address for him, I checked his profile, he was in debit of about 10k, he was owing Uber, I called him, he gave some stories, pleaded I give him till Thursday, let him pay one full week. I agreed Had I known Thursday, called severally before I reached him, another story, his ac was bad he hasn't been working I was furious, did you call me? Asked him to go meet my ac guy to fix it. I like doing ALL my repairs, for fear of substandard parts. immediately, I logged on my GPS tracker, this guy was a bloody liar, he's been all over Lagos especially at night. Gave a benefit of doubt even though my tracker says otherwise. Asked him for my money he said next Tuesday, I chilled, this point I was boiling but I needed to chillax, thanks to Heineken. Tuesday, oga didn't pay, he didn't call, I didn't call Wednesday same thing Checked GPS he's been all over Lagos Thursday morning by 10am, I stopped the car. Went to the location, collected my car keys and phone. Mechanic was already over the car thinking it was a mechanical fault, he didn't call me ooo. Took the car back only to discover the following 1. Booth was permanently locked 2. passenger door has been bashed, the glass is broken inside 3. the car stinks like sh*t 4. the new phone screen was broken All in 2 weeks I repaired the spoilt things and am looking for a driver, but this time like the yorubas say Ojú ánu tí fọ! He called me, I didn't pick cos if I swear 'for' him, it will be so bad that he would prefer his village people romance him than for my curse to kiss him. Other drivers have even noticed a change self. Why am I typing this long epistle I just saw the same guy here asking for a car, on this thread, promising no stories. Yepa! Am angry!!! The same guy, same phone no! The thunder that will fire him ehn, is still using Yokozuna as dumbbell. Dear partners, before you accept any driver please ask to call their former partners! Simple if they say no, da wọn nù bí omi ishanwọ̀ Plus collect upfront payment ooooo If you don't have, ja kúrò ní waju mi jàre, mi o ráyè radarada pálapàla. Datguru, abeg send me that your HP agreement, am considering it. Udo! 14 Likes |

bily: Your response clearly signifies you don't have experience. This is what I mean. Under rental, you only take care of minor repairs or even no repairs at all like in my own case. I like doing all repairs myself to ensure quality Under HP, everything is on you driver, everything for at least 18 months. Suspension, ac, linkage, and maybe engine (if unlucky). To survive you need to save at 8 to 10k weekly to cover for any expenses minus regular service. You need to pay rentals, maybe 35k Fuel 10 to 15k weekly (depends on the car) You will eat, your family, extended, mistresses and concubines. Under HP the minimum amount you should make weekly is 100k to be comfortable. To make a consistent 100k weekly is not by reading the advice by gurus here. Everyone knows theory is way different from practical. Like they will always say, experience is the best teacher. I still stand by my earlier assertion : DRIVING UNDER HP ARRANGEMENT FOR A NEW DRIVER W/O E-HAILING EXPERIENCE IS SUICIDAL. 8 Likes |

daguru: Wait oooo are you saying the guy Andalusia or something doesn't have any form of experience? If he's the one, please friends and well wishers, tell him, taking hp w/o any form of e-hailing experience not driving experience is SUICIDAL. Theory is way different from practical. Packaging will not service the car or do repairs as under hp he will do everything and still remit rental, slightest default, he looses everything! If he's the one ooo, there's a problem cos I remember taking my sweet time to advise him on the importance of starting with rental and I mentioned Experience. But he compounded my secondary school understanding of the issue with more oyibo and subliminal side boots. Like I said earlier, e-hailing business has evolved in Nigeria to been pure street!!! Andalucia: This should be my second or third post on this thread but I think this particular one is necessary I like your tenacity. You've pitched this idea in 3 different sections on NL You have a cumulative of 1,929 views I understand and appreciate your cockiness I like your determination You're so resolved not to 'hussle' to get your goal, you just want to get it the easy way out? What's the big deal in getting a rental while waiting for a principal? I think you should consider the under listed 1. Your first post on this issue was on February 17, if you started doing rental then and was saving 20k a week (since you've a target) you should have saved up 60k by now! Half bread is better than donuts. Plus any principal you tell you've 60k and you're currently driving a rental now will definitely take you more serious than your well detailed proposal 2. Experience! Never joke with that. It's on this same platform people are making over 100k a week working barely 10 hours a day.(CC Romeo3 ) Some people do almost 14 hours daily and struggle to kiss 80k. Doing rental will help you with the learning curve as HP is not beans. If you've driven before, things change daily, eg the new taxify promo 3. Principals understand only one language - money! I must commend your proposal, very articulate, guess what? That proposal, as good as it is won't give you a loan in the bank if you don't have equity contribution. So why should an individual part with hard earned 2m when a bank cannot? The language principals understand is cash liquid cash not potential! Try and learn it 4. Your cockiness may depict pride. An interested principal can easily confuse your cockiness for pride and guess what? most business men will never do business with 2 set of people a. Anyone who exhibit any atom of pride and people who call themselves pastors, evangelist etc,( am sure we'll know why). In fact, if I've got any car down minimum I will collect as down payment from anyone that's proud is 50% with plenty abeg ooo. So thread carefully 5. Wrong impression Your responses is giving everyone a wrong impression about you! You might be a very fine young reliable gentleman but your English has masked all that. Stop the subliminal side kicks in your responses. Try and align your strengths to 'what's in it for the principal' E-hailing business is pure street! Finally You see, some of these principals you want to attract, have cars on rental on Uber/taxify yet, we sold our personal cars (SUVs) and bought Uber compliant cars to make small cash after work and some weekends! I can't count the no of times I've picked my junior colleagues as riders! Some of the cancel immediately they dial and my no pop up, as far as am concerned, it's all about the Benjamins! I no send anybody! Imagine gazzuzz with all the money he makes still drives, why? Nothing beats when you're involved hands on! Well I took my time to type this very long message because 1. Am on vacation and 2. I see you as a great guy who might just have misplaced priorities Abeg lemme go online I heard the movie Gringo will be in cinema today, lemme set my destination to surulere make rider pay for fuel, ticket and of course pop corn! ameristu: I can't really say if it will be okay if you raise it I actually have not seen one raised but it doesn't mean it's not possible. Plus hybrid cars can give problem here. My candid advise, trade it for a Corolla between 2003-2009. That's cool for Uber 1 Like 1 Share |
