Great guy, that's my man.

To be honest, NL is the last place I normally would want to discuss politics, and this thread shouldn't even be the place at all. The challenge is that I can't just stand and be mute where the product Buhari is being promoted unnecessarily or worst still being exonerated!

This paragraph was supposed to be for me to say "I'm sorry" to you, it's not flowing, because the difference we have has to do with Buhari, the man who promised heaven but delivered hell, the one who finally run Nigeria and Nigerians aground with emptiness, primordial sentiment, ethnic chauvinism, nepotism, etc. See what securing visa has become of us as a nation worldwide these past few years, it was never and has never been this bad! Insecurity at its peak cry.... Now, I'm getting overly emotional.

See desperation and hunger everywhere my brother. Do you know we will all have a feel of its effect? Seye, my big Odugwu Thermocool generator was stolen and sold off for peanut by a former banker and one miscreant in my hood, if you see the CCTV footage and the suffer the guys went through to get it over the fence, you'd weep. Couldn't help letting them go because of his young family. I visited 5 different states in the US on this my last trip, one thing was common amongst our people there, the pressure from home has increased astronomically, a lot have resorted to move from avoiding calls from Naija to blocking friends and relatives on the various communication platforms just to keep their sanity. It's that bad!

"At this stage I will desist from any political chit chat on this forum and focus solely on why this forum was created, to assist and provide an enabling environment for applicant interested in applying for U.S Non-Immigrant visa with the intention of returning to Nigeria after getting the visa and visiting U.S." I just quoted you now, that sums it for me. I'm following you, you are a dear friend I met on here and cherish much, I'm really sorry if I got on your wrong side, pretty sorry, sincere apologies. MAY NIGERIA BE GREAT!

Good one

Flexi is 42k and it allows you work into their office anytime, any day. There are no extra charges asides that.

Oh, cool. Okay, but if I pick it, I will still pay 10k for the Assisted Service or that then won't be necessary?
And if I was to pick the prime time which is
37k? Thanks much

Good morning house.
A quick one please.
I want to book an Assisted Service Appointment for 10k now, I'm seeing the FLEXI and PRIME TIME too. Looking at picking the PRIME TIME for 8am for 37k extra. What does the FLEXI added service mean and cost please? Are there extra charges aside the 10+37=47 if I pick the assisted Service and PRIME TIME combo for any day later this week? What are the downsides?

Thanks for your responses

Lolz, yeah! Anyways those refused a US visa won't be so much concerned about the development as it were. That's extra 41,000 Nigeria "shekels", plus 59. Wow, that's a 100k. And our government has been taking this much from them too oh, NON-REFUNDABLE too....

Seriously

I have been a silent follower.

let me drop my transcript here.

I applied via drop box to renew my usa visa and I stated I was going for medicals. 221g letter was sent to me and I rescheduled for interview. Unfortunately a week to my interview I had pre term labour at 6 months and they could not keep the baby since he was not up to 7 months. I reschedule my interview due to health reasons after delivery.

Today I went for my interview today at Abuja Consular

VO: What countries have you visited
me: Uk,France, Spain, Luxembourg, Netherlands ,Belgium, Uae, Gambia, Benin rep..etc

vo: okay, i will be giving you this visa, please pay all your bills and do not accept any discount. get your itemized bills and all the necessary receipts.
me: yes i will

me: I asked her if i needed to inform them when next I get pregnant, she said no, but i should declare it at the point of entry, and have enough funds to cover my treatment.

Thank you lord for this victory, and for doing something for me to wipe away my tears.

Yet wondering how the Hospitals are running a scam and the scam isn’t checked and stopped in-house rather than going after those that are ignorant victims too. One does not know what the definite expectations are also. Avoidance is the surest now, will just advise friends and family to do so and face Canada instead

Vlesparza:

You are correct. Hospitals are not running a scam, they simply want Nigerians to pay more. You can pay more than the discounted price at www.doctoresparati.com you just have to request it.

Wow! Thanks to God.
IAH wasn't as bad as I have had reason to think. Got in on Saturday, it was a breeze, very uneventful but surely a GRACE thing, very much like different from all one expected and prepared for.
Still resting, but will be at the doctor's office this morning hopefully. Will update us soon

We hear you. But we wee kip "generating revenue for dem", donwori. Isit your "generation"? I can tell you for free that my immediate family members (who aren't citizens of somewhere else with "strong" passports but just Nigerians) all have this US visa, and there's nothing so peculiar than God and having the "know-how" of the process. Ties, genuine intentions and travel history keep counting wella!

I have come to realize too from experience that people who intend to migrate are MOST TIMES the ones that gets refused (we will not agree, but this is a solid observation of mine all the same, let's check our consciences). The ones with the necessary requirements and are not intent on migrating MOSTLY get this US visa. You can go on now and argue with your keyboard! Okay, bye....
My own contribution to this in support is will a bank manager with good travel history not get a US visa with his family normally? Now that the spirit of visa abuse has gotten hold of people in that cadre too? I'm of the view that our people have made things worse for us in the name of smartness. Bad!

A quick one please.

Trying to call VFS now but they are closed for the day. Applied for France tourist visa and just tracked and saw passport ready for pickup. Can it be collected by proxy like that of Canada and the US? I'm unavoidably unavailable to do this tomorrow, and I need it picked up tomorrow at VFS Lekki. If it's possible, who's qualified to help me pick it up, and what are the requirements please? Thanks much for your responses

Dear Justwise, Ekpotek and other gurus in the house kindly advise on this please. My father in-law has been to the UK thrice; 2008; 2010 and 2012. He's a senior citizen/retiree now. He did less than 10 days in his first two visits. His third was after his retirement from service, he spent about three months even though he entered with the intention of doing four weeks. What effect does this have?
The major issue now is that while filling his form for renewal we came across a part asking if he received medical care in the UK. Yes, he did, a check up on a suspected diabetic condition, he even has an NHS number to worsen matters. Next is if he paid? No, he didn't. We are told this will affect his application. Hubby's cousin in the UK advises not to state that he received medical care in the UK. Isn't that more trouble? Is there a way we can get to know this bill and pay up or what do we do?
Currently, he has valid US and Canada visas (he hasn't been to these places yet) and had wanted to see all three countries this summer (Central London, Manhattan and Downtown Toronto specifically) paying personally for the UK part of the trip (booked an hotel around the Buckingham Palace area for four days already), he has about 3.4m in his account currently with a couple of houses to booth even though his pension money is around a 100k, but he receives rent proceeds that averagely could be put around 280k monthly and monthly allowances from his children (all resident in Nigeria but have visas of the above countries and even children born in them with associating costs duly handled), about 130k at least, etc. Is there any hope of renewing this UK visa? Can he apply for the 5yrs visa or repeat the 2yrs visa, or just start afresh from the 6months visa? Thanks ahead for your contributions.

I honestly don’t know why a lot of People here think they can’t give birth in the USA with a visiting visa. It is very legal and ok to give birth in the USA with a visiting visa without even sending any change of intent or applying for medical visa or whatever. Most Nigerians are usually given a b1/b2 visa combined . B1 visa is for business while b2 is for tourism I.e vacation . What we don’t know is that medical treatment such as child birth etc is also allowed under the b2 visiting visa. I got tired of reading about people stressing to write change of intent letter, being adviced to go for vacation first with the visa before using it for child birth for fear of future refusal when they want to renew. Nobody will deny renewing your visa if you give birth in the USA with a visiting visa. My sister gave birth with her visiting visa, paid all her bills in full, didn’t send any change of intent whatever and mind you, at the time she did the interview she wasn’t pregnant and said it was for vacation. She got pregnant, traveled n had her baby and applied for a renewal and her visa was renewed. She has been doing drop box since then . She just got her visa renewed again this April and would be traveling to us to have her baby in October. Google it or go on the USA consular page and you would see that our visiting visa or tourist visa as some people will call it permits us to have medical treatment in the USA without applying for medical visa or change of intent . Infact medical visa which some people say they got is also under a b2 visa and also includes tourism as well. Pls kindly find attachment . I hope this helps people who are terribly confused about traveling with their visiting visa’s to give birth in the USA. Btw the only time I feel one might have issues is if you lied at your interview that you aren’t pregnant, it could catch up with you during renewal. Honesty pays .
The only thing I will say in response to this is that indeed theoretical knowledge is far from practical knowledge, and that learning is continuous too, you need to learn and know some more. You haven't passed anything new as knowledge on this topic area. Most mamas here already know what you are saying, but you seem not to have an inkling of what they know extra by experience and practice. Times have changed seriously please, kindly try and upgrade your knowledge on this matter before you use your write-up to set people on the path of doom by them applying that which you have taught here.

Just not to sound insultive, I would have made a better use of TERRIBLY CONFUSED as written above by you and bolded by me. Just know some more please! My assumption however will be that you are very likely new to the topic area and thread.

Hello house

How much BTA(Usd) is advisable to take along for 2wks vacation for family of 3 aside from hotel bills.

Kindly advise...

That depends on your pocket, the kind of holiday and spending pattern. 2.5k upwards should be good. I think I read of 1k recommendation per person here or on WAKANOW or so. You can go with much much more than that too. It's not compulsory you spend all you go with. That's me anyways

I kinda disagree. A lot of people seemed qualified with strong ties. But their reason for traveling wasn't believable enough for the VO. This last respect reason is really weak because he's got no documents to show relationship. And he's going with the whole family too.

I've seen people on this forum get their Visa once they explained that they weren't going for birthing. The VO was ready to issue them a Visa for vacation but not for birthing. Purpose. If his purpose of visiting is flawed then his ties will not matter.

That said I disagree with ties first then purpose second. It should be purpose first. It's always purpose first.

Even though they work hand in hand, ties trumps purpose with minute exceptions. If your ties are right, purpose may matter less. On the reverse, if your purpose is rock solid and ties are weak, it takes extra considerations for you to scale through.
If poster happens to be the eldest child/son of the deceased for example, his purpose even become tighter, but then, his ties are weakened by the quality of the persons he intends traveling with, those are major ties! Unless he has other very major ties to make up for this, his purpose - however strong - still won't suffice. How good is his travel history if I may ask?

Pls I don't intend to leave the airport before connecting. Do I still need transit visa?
I've called Virgin, the lady told me they are not trained on visa issues so they cant give me right info.

I'm confused. Pls help.

Thanks

No, you don't need transit visa for your case type, but you could however even go into the UK if you wish. You can take the image below to the bank, it works perfectly. I did over two months ago. The only challenge is that your layover has to be above 12hrs or so for you to even have a chance. Mine was over, and yours too. Also be wary of that word MIGHT in the image, it means you won't compulsorily have the opportunity though.

We condole with the government and people of the United States as well as those of Argentina and Belgium as regards the sickening terror attack that happened hours ago in NY. May the souls of the departed rest in peace. I also use this opportunity to pray for our country Nigeria that the wanton attacks here and there in various guise be restrained maximally. That Nigeria too should be a country that works like other climes. Brought to tears by the swiftness to action in stopping the carnage, identifying the victims and the suspects of the NY attack. Dear gurus in the house and fellow nairalanders, we need use some help here. A cousin of mine has a USC hubby resident and working in the US but comes to Nigeria annually/bi-annually. They have been married a few years and are blessed with three kids, all US Citizens too courtesy of their dad. She actually wants to visit the US with her kids soon, but has information that she has to get filed for as a standard for the US immigration laws.
The issue here is that herself and hubby discussed over two years now that there isn't an urgent need for her to be filed for on two major grounds, the particular one being she's not ready to relocate and go start life afresh in the US with uncertainties accompanying despite all the comfort she enjoys here in Nigeria where we live family and almost communal life, the other being even if she files and gets approved, she can't sustain the stress of travelling to the US every 6-12 months just to safeguard the issued green card ensuring it's not withdrawn if she fails to turn up in the US as expected of greencard holders.
She really doesn't want to relocate, if she wants that, that could be fixed in just a few months, the sacrifice following are enormous for her and discourages her and for this reason she hasn't been filed for these past few years.
Now, she prefers an opportunity to be visiting the US with her kids at her convenience and not out of some sort of semi-compulsion by reason of being a greencard holder. Can the B1/B2 visa then be appropriate and issuable to her type for any reason or she must unwillingly and frustratingly go through the immigrant visa process just to keep the line open for US holidays with her kids whenever she has to or parents and the kids should just forget about ever visiting the US in company of their mum till she she's willing to relocate and go through the immigrant visa process? Definitely not convenient for her in any way. Thanks in anticipation of our responses.

you must have uploaded a passport that does not conform with the required standard. A new form will be filled. A digital copy of the passport directly from the photographer is what is needed for the application. Don't use a scanned copy. Meanwhile, you will need to update your appointment profile with the new application/confirmation number.

Back to it. How will the highlighted happen? If it doesn't meet standard it won't accept, you can only pass here if you decide to go ahead submitting your form without uploading a picture. The right way to do it is what you posted. But the complaint so far is that the applicants say that they submitted a picture but couldn't find it on the page at printout, it's either they are not saying the truth or there's an error somewhere as some posters have reasoned up here.

Hello House.
My mum applied for visiting visa on the 30th of May, via the online route and did her biometrics at the VFS in Lagos on the 20th of June. She got an update last week that her application is approved. Since she lives in ogun State an would not want her to travel twice in order to submit her passport at VFS and go back to collect it. I will like to enquire about the service charges. Is she required to pay for the passport transmission fees and the courier fees, because someone say she is only required to pay the Courier fee since she did her biometrics at the same VFS. I also want to know how long it it will take after she submit her passport at the VFS to when the Courier will deliver the passport at her residence.
Thanks

Just the courier fees, can't remember the cost again now but less than 8k definitely. A week should do for the process, and someone could help her do the drop-off, my husband did for me.
