KnowAll:Thank goodness Ibadan was the seat of then western regional government in Nigeria and still the capital of Oyo State. It does not take a genius to decipher what would have become the state of town of Lagos if not for federal capital. A good look at Abeokwuta should tell the whole truthful story. |
@OP The reason, among others, is individuals such as you who waste bandwidth in praises of Fashola who is the governor of a town which served as the seat of federal government of Nigeria. |
Mbeki:Any Igbo son who spent a minute between the thighs of Ileke_idi should be mercilessly flogged including robbing of the salt. |
Abagworo:I could not have dreamt of a day that opens access to such a ridiculous post from you. Even in the so-called God’s own country such as USA, people are threatening to secede. Civil agitation to gain nationhood by certain group of people can never amount to treason. |
seanet02:You come across like someone who has inherent ignorance to recorded events and exudes unmitigated disdain for history. Believe me only an irredeemable fool will insinuate that British government was not directly involved on the side of Nigeria during the Nigeria/Biafra civil war. I really wondered aloud what informed your opinion on Ojukwu as the cause of the war. |

It is funny to watch the extent people tend to give Ijo relevance. Ijo is not an ethnic but a derivative from Jos, a Portuguese term for people of the river. Andoni is more of Igbo and Ibibio or Annang than so-called Ijo. Obolo is more of Igbo than Ibibio. Furthermore, Ubani is anglicized as Bonny while denial artists called it Ibani. Sometimes I marveled at the determined efforts to twist historical facts while at the same time display ignorance. I have seen Ama + Ikiri = Amakiri becomes Amachere. Also, Azumiri turns to Asimiri and Ama Onye anabo turns to Amayengbo. There were men named Odom, Edimiri and Ediabali during certain era in the history of places known today as southeastern Nigeria. I guess each day brings changes. I wondered how Amaodom, Amaedimiri and Amaediabli would be changed by these denial artists. Please forgive me digression on Andoni topic. |

You are two rungs below average Nigerian that is the reason you did not know ikwerre as Igbo. When the poster of the thread wrote about “average Nigerian”, he or she did not include your lazy arse as an average Nigerian. |

PointB:I agree with your analogy of government and industries. The same analogy is even apparent in negativity with government and schools. The state of schools in Nigeria bore witness to written indictment of government meddling in school business. Nobody is requesting government to take over industries and factories as it did with schools. The people of Imo State are fully deserving of a government that will engage in setting up infrastructural and political policies geared toward environment conducive for localization of industries and factories in the state. Since Rochas Okorochas has been sworn-in as governor of Imo State, he has never endeared himself to the dismal situation of unemployment in the state. |

@OP For those of you in the financial sector of the economy, in the name of curiosity, when did non-interest banking system become Islamic banking? It is very laughable to watch the manner in which northern region of Nigeria and its Islamic fanatics furiously degrade Nigeria into a dysfunctional entity. Sanusi Lamido and his Islamic banking crap are not worthy subjects of rational debate. |
Partially, Nigeria deserved OBJ and IBB. |
velo10:When a link in food chain is broken, it ensures dire consequences. It is a waste of time, resources and vicious circle of spawning graduates without jobs if Imo State has to be filled to the brink with schools but industries and factories. I am not sold to feel-happy goofy stuffs and do not buy into diminutive emptiness which is one of many manifestations of fanfarism. Any governor in Igbo land who is oblivious to the joblessness of young and old graduates in the land should be shot. Imo State needs factories not Schools. |
