Rochas okorocha’s actions in Imo State with regard to education are perpetuation of fool’s theory. Instead of engaging in actions that will build industries and factories that could provide jobs for millions of graduates in Imo State, the governor is still talking about schools which will grind out additional unemployed or unemployable graduates.

If Africans had found something good about circumcision in both male and female, I say there is nothing primitive about it. After all, female circumcision has been witnessed throughout the world. It is a mark of idiocy to arrogate such act as African.

People should also realize the ways of Europeans are not always suited for human beings. I shall prefer properly performed female circumcision as done in male to the female Core mutilation in the name of piercing. Today, females in Europe and USA had found favor in sewing up their Core parts with all kinds of metals.

The same thing goes with the silly tattoo.

By the way, if same sex marriage is part of European and USA civilization, I had happily remained primitive in Africa.

My hero

https://www.myhero.com/images/guest/g33728/g33728_u32720_portrait.jpg

used to think that a hero is a male character who acted a role of attraction throughout the story. But when our teacher told us and also discovered from the DVD and the My Hero book sent to us, I now know that a hero is not only a person who is admired by many for his noble qualities, or bravery but also one who has positively touched one’s life directly or indirectly. There is no other person that I would say is my Hero than Chief Obafemi Awolowo. He was born in Ikenne South West of Nigeria on 6th March, 1909. His father was a peasant farmer but was able to register Chief Awolowo in Anglican primary school in Ikenne. When his father died, it was difficult for him to continue his education; but being a brave man, he served many masters to continue his education.

Chief Awolowo
He registered for part time studies and after his matriculation in 1939, he completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1944. He co-founded the trade union congress of Nigeria in 1943. He graduated as a lawyer in London in 1947. While in London; he founded the “EGBE OMO ODUDUWA” a Yoruba tribal society. Coming back to Nigeria, he set up a legal practice and in 1950 he organized other Yoruba leaders and formed the Action Group, which won the western Region elections in 1951. He became the leader of the banned Action Group and the leader of the Yoruba’s of Western Nigeria.
My hero became the Minister of Local Government from 1951-54 and later became the prime minister of Western Nigeria with the headquarters in Ibadan. He was able to achieve the following goals, which made the Western Region developed more than other regions.
(1) He built the first stadium of international standard in Nigeria (Liberty Stadium Ibadan)
(2) He built the first skyscraper in Nigeria (Cocoa House)
(3) He created the first television station in Nigeria known as the Western Nigeria Television Station (WNTV)
(4) He established the first radio station.

He resigned the premiership of Western Nigerian 1959 to contest for federal election but failed and he became the leader of opposition in the Federal House of Representative. He consolidated the Action Group to become the “best political party south of Sahara”. After his death, Chief Ojukwu said, "Awolowo was the best President Nigeria never had"

Chief Awolowo on Nigerian currency note

Federal Government named one of the premier universities after him. Former University of Ife in South West was changed to Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria's one hundred naira currency note carries his image and a street in Federal Capital Territory is named to immortalize his name.

Chief Obafemi Awolowo

I have chosen Chief Awolowo as my hero because I am not only a living being today but an educated person. This is because he:
• Fought for free health care, which gave my father the chance to survive during a disease out break at that time.
• Fought for free education at all levels, which gave my parents the opportunity to attend school at that time.
He also fought for other things in order to benefit the masses, which made him (Chief Obafemi Awolowo) and the Federal Government to be at opposing sides. Chief Awolowo was survived by Hannah his wife and three children. He lost one child in a car accident when he was young. For these and many others, Chief Awolowo has made me what I am and I have made him my hero, which he will always be because I don’t know where I would have been if he had not helped my parents.

a very small innocent boy cry cry
This young boy deserves my pity. He is wrongly informed by ill-informed rumor peddlers determined to perpetuate essence of illusion and creation of phantom iconic image of Awolowo.

If ahj_harem is not a dupe or fraud, he or she would have attempted to disabuse the mind of this young fellow by editing the misinformation fed to the young boy.

For example:

Awolowo, through correspondence, completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1944. He co-founded the trade union congress of Nigeria in 1943. Later, he earned a law degree from London School of Economics in 1947. While in London; he co-founded the “EGBE OMO ODUDUWA” a Yoruba tribal society. Coming back to Nigeria, he set up a legal practice and in 1950 and was among Yoruba leaders who formed the Action Group. Due to carpet-crossing by Yoruba peeps in NCNC that swelled number of seats assigned to tribal political party; Action Group formed the government of western Region in 1951.

He was the leader of the banned Action Group and the leader of the Yoruba’s of Western Nigeria.
My hero became the Minister of Local Government from 1951-54 and later became the prime minister of Western region of Nigeria with the headquarters in Ibadan. Awo and Action Group were able to achieve the following goals, which made the Western Region as developed as other regions.
(1)    Western region of Nigeria built the first stadium of international standard in Nigeria (Liberty Stadium Ibadan)
(2)   Western region of Nigeria built the first skyscraper in Nigeria (Cocoa House)

(4)    Western region of Nigeria established the first radio station.

He resigned the premiership of Western Nigerian 1959 to contest for federal election, won and became the leader of opposition in the Federal House of Representative. He consolidated the Action Group to become the “tribal political party south of Sahara”. After his death, Chief Ojukwu said, "Awolowo was the best President Nigeria never had"

This one is a lie.
I have corrected u guys in the past and you keep pushing this lie.
UNN was the first Nigerian full fledged university.
Awo dint have a hand in UI which was the first university although of foreign affiliation.

Another lie.
National Bank of Nigeria was fully acquired by the western regional government in 1960 long after Zik had created ACB in 1944
And long after Zik was a share holder in the same (National Bank) bank.
Although there were already foreign bank operating in Nigeria, Zik created the first Indigenous bank in Nigeria. (ACB)

You are now beginning to convert Ziks achievements to Awo.
Please stop misleading people.
Bros, sometimes these fools should be allowed to drool in their inherent stupidity. You should realize that stupidity can not be fixed. Remember Awolowo gave them stadium yet CKC, Onicha travelled all the way to Ibadan and Lagos while thrashing every secondary school team that was encouraged to challenge it.

Vallo57: List the achievements(both personal and collective) or shut your trap.
It is funny to read about the free western-styled education allegedly introduced by western regional government of Nigeria under the leadership of Awolowo. Yet the manner of few posters had spurred me to question the essence of the so-called free education when the self-arrogating beneficiaries of such phantom legacy could not use “google” which is coincidently free.

Granted that the few trolls who tend to impugn the integrity of Azikiwe were the chips from old blocks noted for transforming anthill into mountain, one wonders what went wrong when one sentence was employed to describe the achievements of the first asiwaju of Yoruba land.

I have honestly tried to locate iota of Awolowo’s achievements baring western regional government and useless government of Nigeria under Gowon but all my efforts have proved futile.

In fact, I refused to upload Azkiwe’s achievements and Awolowo’s legacy as presented in their profiles by Wikipedia because I did not intend to support the idiotic frenzy being displayed by few overfed dullards on this board.

It is a case of incurable madness that anyone will conjure the idea of questioning the personal achievement of Dr. Nnmadi Azikiwe. I guess Nigeria is a celebrated jungle which provides habitat for certain mor.ons that had the effrontery to doubt the achievement of Great Zik of Africa.

If achievement is free education which every rat can provide to fellow rats on philanthropic bases through the coffers of a regional government, I detest and dismiss it with a wave of the hand.

Zik stood head and shoulder above his peers when personal achievement viewed from goods and services rendered to the people of West Africa in general and Nigeria in particular. .

This is just to put d records straight.
Awo also floated a newspaper company known as 'TRIBUNE' and FYI the newspaper is still surviving 24yrs after his demise.
Awo is a great leader that only a bigot will deny.

He introduce free and qualitative education wh has made SW d hub of educated people.
He built the tallest building in Nig n other infrastructures with money frm an organized agriarian economy.
How will you forget d first television station in Nigeria now known as NTA.
He blazed d trail in everything then.
Nigeria is still in need of a leader like him. Little wonder Ojukwu himself wrote regretfully in Awo's condolence register that he was the best president Nig never had.
You have succeeded where fellow disingenuous posters failed by informing us that Awo achieved practical nothing besides the government of western region. There was no Awo without western regional government and delusional government of Nigeria under Gowon.

If you believed Awolowo floated Tribune when Awo landed in the Protectorate between 1948 and 49, then you can knock yourself out with any conjectural crap. Poor Awo did everything other than commit suicide to graduate from law school.

Pal, I do not give a ratarse if Awoolowo shared the all the cocoa revenue accrued by western regional government to every Nigerian family or what Ojukwu wrote about him. Only fools will arrogate whatever government showers to the people as personal achievement by individuals elected or appointed to oversee such governmental benevolence.

I am not surprise dreamers from western region of Nigeria would stop at nothing to create a phantom iconic image in Awolowo. In fact, Awolowo created Nigeria. If I did not know better, I could have believed the goofy stuff that Awo built Lagos.
Politics › Re: What Are Zik's Acheivement That Made Him Pro-nigeria And Not Pro-igbo? by Dede1(m): 3:25pm On Aug 08, 2011
Awo did not achieve anything in life except the one-room office law firm and the land he deceitfully acquired in Moroko.

Zik built news media house that stretched from Lagos to Accra and employed Africans of multi-nationalities so that they could put food on the table for their families. Hence, the notion of Zik of Africa stuck with his name.

He stood up football club in Lagos that won a title later known as challenge cup. There are many other achievements that could be credited to Zik but I never regarded anything initiated by individuals through government fund or peoples’ money while such individual occupies top position in government.

Again intellectually or geographically, there is no Niger Delta. Niger Delta is a misnomer. When you have time to waste, I urge you to visit Atlas and sort out the visual and geographical expression called Nigeria. You would find that River Niger and River Benue merged to form River Niger-Benue. In actual physical geography, the delta erroneously referred as Niger Delta is formed by Rivers such as Niger, Benue, Imo, Anambra, Urashi and Utamiri. Now the actual states situated in this delta are Abia, Anambra, Bayelsa, Imo and Rivers.

All the blind arrogations of Niger Delta at certain political quarters in Nigeria remain political shenanigans best described as foolish.
